Food was fine, and it was much better 2-3 years ago; I believe the management has changed several times. This isn't upsetting, but I definitely found it weird that in the dining room there was a filing cabinet along with a full table of clutter and supplies. The whole place just didn't seem super organized or put together. The wings were good, I thought the tteokbokki was fine as well. I didn't have the bulgogi fries this time but those used to always be my favorite. Staff were nice to us, a little bit slow to get to the table even though it wasn't busy, but it happens sometimes.
Tasty Chicken, anyone? (Me? Why, of course!) I'll admit, I'm a pizza and wing snob--I'm pretty cheeky about where I spend my money. So, when I found myself near this joint after a ruthless grocery run, I decided to take the plunge. I ordered a batch of wings: decent size, wonderfully fried crispy, and deliciously juicy on the inside. My preference is for plain wings with sauce on the side. Here's the rub: While they clearly know how to fry a wing to perfection, the "naked" wings were flavorless. They were essentially a blank canvas waiting for a masterpiece. I know many places fry wings with minimal seasoning, but folks, let me be honest: The sauce isn't just an addition here--it's a requirement. The wings rely 100% on whatever dip you choose to make them good. Now, let's talk about the real reason you should consider stopping here: The fries!!!! Holy moly, these French fries were absolutely stellar! They were everything you want: perfectly crispy exterior, soft interior, and seasoned just right. If you are a fan of good fries (not just passable ones), this is a must-order. As much as I loved those magnificent fries, the overall value is a little tough to swallow. The wings are pricey, and the fact that the plain version lacks any decent seasoning is a deterrent. Am I likely to return? Probably not... unless I'm having a serious, life-altering French fry craving. My official Return Factor: 15% (100% of that is for the fries.)
Where to start ... 1. Service was subpar, I think we saw our server for the menu, drinks handed to us, food dropped off then the bill. 2. For being a KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) joint there were not a lot of KFC options. I was honestly confused by that. 3. Aesthetics? All over the place. There was Warhammer games being sold? I don't know? The modelo beer cartons holding the soy sauce? Huh? I didn't understand the vibe of this place. Was it Korean themed? Bar themed? Gaming themed? 4. The KFC, was indeed crispy. I don't know if it was a cornflake batter or what but these were crispy oh and BIG! Worth the price, 7 will absolutely fill you up. They chicken itself was bland not the outer crust but the chicken. Once you were past the sauce and crispy and just chicken itself was bland. The sweet and spicy had a tang to it that made your nose start watering. I probably wouldn't be back only based on the overall ambiance and experience. Seriously, no hate. I just didn't understand the aesthetics. If I were in the area I world try something else.
Randomly ended up here with my friend for dinner. We ordered 14 KFC wings. Half garlic soy and half sweet and spicy. The crunch factor on the chicken wings were great and the soy garlic was yummy! The service was slow, the decor didn't make any sense to me and was a bit confusing lol if I'm honest. Like nothing made sense. All the workers stood or sat around the bar area, the music was being flipped through the entire time we were there and just wasn't very professional.
WOW. I almost can't post any words because I am speechless. This was such a delicious treat. Hubs and I stopped by here before a visit to HMart and what a smart move that was! The service was great, the location was clean, and the food was perfection! We got the Bulgogi beef entree, pork belly cheese corn, and sweet & spicy fried chicken. Everything was easily 15/10!! Flavors were all savory, the chicken was light, juicy, and thicc! So good and can't wait to go back. ***also huge plus, I am a mother of toddlers and one of them is still in diapers. I was so so pleasantly surprised when I used their very clean and inviting restroom. So nice to see a very clean changing table with complimentary gloves, wipes, and padding. That is very thoughtful and unexpected.
What we got : Pork belly corn cheese: *with mini shrimp added* ( idk if this is supposed to be this way but the mini shrimp still had the shells on so if you don't like it and don't want that crunch don't get that or try the corn and shrimp appetizer) Tasted good pork belly was juicy and thick and aloooot of cheese is added only con is the cheese becomes hard after a few minutes of being torched infront of you leaving hard large clumps of cheese just felt like I was eating just cheese half the time Chicken fried rice : very crispy chicken and dipping sauce is flavorful for sure Bulgogi plate: tasted like any other one I've had soaked in flavor and good ! Bulgogi W/ Fries: fair portion, thick fries and had a good sauce on top Side of kimchi : was alright alittle bland then I've had at other places and they charge $2.00 for it wasn't told about that as I'm used to just getting it for free and not charged was surprised to see that on my receipt probably let people know about that They have a small warhammer section oddly enough that you can purchase some stuff for figure painting etc.. super random but awesome to see!!
Food - The korean bbq crispy chicken original came out hot. The coating was pretty light, and I liked that. I didn't think it tasted too spicy. I wasn't a fan of the two sauces we got. I like the sauces at other places better. Sweet and spicy was too sweet for me. Soy and garlic was just okay, not too memorable. The pho had good flavor. It did have a hint of five spice. I don't usually get the five spice flavor at my usual pho place. I could do without it. It did seem a little greasy. At my usual place, I also don't find the soup to be greasy. They had the usual lemon slice, bean sprouts, and thai basil. Atmosphere - No strange or strong odors or smells. I did not visit the restroom. It was not very busy inside. Only a couple tables were full. Service - There were about three or four employees. The service here was good. Order and pay at the table. Self seating. They bring the food out to you. Parking - Surface parking lot. No parking meter or parking structures. Saw a health rating on Yelp afterwards. They got a B as of this writing.
So I only tried their bone in fried chicken, 14 pc, honey butter sauce on the side. It was meaty, good white chunky meat and crispy skin. My only problems were the sauce, it seemed watered down and almost flavorless? And each piece, drum stick or wing just seemed smaller than I expected, I thought there'd be more pieces like chicken breast or something. I would just try a different flavor next time but employees were super friendly and attentive.
This was our first visit. We found them on yelp and decided to give it a try. I'm sure glad we did! We were greeted when we walked in and were immediately sat. We had a great server that answered all our questions. We decided to the Manchu (pan fried dumplings) and they were delicious! We also ordered the Tipsy fries, they were also hot and delicious! Our entree we had the bone in Korean fried chicken. Oh man....it was SO GOOD! The restaurant itself was much to look at, but the food was So GOOD! We will have to make this one of our regular take out places. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes. Sorry, I forgot to take a pic of the Manchu (potstickers) .
We heard good things and the reviews looked promising, but our experience was extremely disappointing. Service took forever just to get drinks, soda and water included, and the food took even longer. There were maybe six people dining in, a few takeout orders, and three servers, yet nothing moved efficiently. The servers seemed more focused on taking selfies than taking orders or bringing out drinks. One person in our party ordered chicken fried "ONION" rice, and it honestly seemed like they put an entire onion into the serving. The chicken fried rice came out about 15 minutes before the Korean fried "chicken wings," which made no sense. but i guess worked out because she didn't eat any of it! it was disgusting! We took it home and fed it to our chickens! BTW, they thought it was delicious!! The chicken fried rice was just a leg and thigh placed on top of a bed of bland, flavorless rice, with what looked like a salad where the vegetables were barely chopped. When the Korean chicken wings finally arrived--after waiting 30-45 minutes--they had zero flavor and were extremely chewy. We're honestly glad we tried Tipsy Chicken once, so we never have to come back. We're really bummed that we wasted our hard-earned money and time that we'll never get back. It feels like the Yelp platform is becoming overcrowded with people trying to be influencers and leaving five-star reviews for mediocrity
Tipsy is a small and pleasant restaurant. The staff was on the spot and attentive. My wife ordered the chicken fried rice. I ordered the fried Mandu and the 7 piece, bone in, soy garlic wings. The Mandu appetizer arrived fairly quickly. What a pleasant surprise. Ultra thin wrapper and extremely crispy! The veg and meat filling was flavorful and juicy. The dipping sauce was sweet and savory. These were excellent. My wife's chicken fried rice came next. She was quite surprised. Expecting your standard fried rice, this came with a very large 1/4 chicken on top! We were a bit disappointed with the chicken and the rice. The chicken was plain but the skin was very crispy. The problem was it lacked seasoning. It was fairly juicy, but lacked salt. Pretty bland. Same with the rice. Pretty plain. Unfortunately, our mains were not served at the same time. At one point I had to ask about my order, thinking they may have forgotten. The good thing is, once my order arrived, it was very good. Extra crunchy, hot, and extremely juicy drums and flats. At first I thought they were a bit too salty. But the more I ate, the more I craved. These were a winner! It also helped having a beer or two to follow up with.
UPDATE: Tipsy chicken - the signature crispiness of this fried chicken is a major draw for me, crunchy and juicy meat! I always like to get the soy garlic flavor because it's the best flavor imo. Delicious and satisfying, this spot delivers me the best comfort food. Service was great. Ambiance was welcoming.

Friday evening with reservation party of 9 - no problem. The service was amazing and very attentive - constant check ins. Tipsy Chicken is in the same plaza as H-Mart so you can walk there after eating here! Inside it looks like a nightclub kind of with bar seating and usual Jinro Merch. I liked the decor. The chicken came out HOT and super juicy. We pretty much tried every flavor of the chicken. My party has been here recently and also when it was called Po Chicken. There was a new fish sauce flavor they opted to try which was ok not my favorite. Very crunchy and the sauces were all solid. I think my favorite was the soy garlic followed by the original. Definitely think this chicken was much crunchier than bb.q chicken(which I think is good too don't get me wrong). What interested me was that there was Pho here! SO RANDOM - must be Vietnamese owners. I had to order the pho as I haven't had that much good pho in Phoenix. I thought it'd be so ironic if I had better pho at a Korean fried chicken place than those other places I've tried..... In my opinion it was better if not just as good as every other pho spot I've had in Phoenix besides Pho Chandler. With that being said, plenty of pho spots in this area within like a mile or two - I've only tried one so try them all and find your own preference, but the pho here really impressed me actually. 1/13/2024: Korean American Day We just got SERVED! All hail the KFC GAWDS: Tipsy Chicken AZ in the Asian District on Main Street of Mesa Az! They really got it going on! Serving up some of the BEST! I'm talking piping hot, beautifully breaded CRUNCHY chicken wings with a juicy tenderness underneath (lip smackin- finger lickin' - morsels of goodness) that are available in three delicious flavors! The Original, Soy & Garlic, and Sweet & Spicy! P.S. Those are some BIG BIRDS too! Don't forget to try the Bulgogoi Fries, Pork Belly Corn Cheese, & their signature cocktails too! Hands down one of the best Korean Fried Chicken places I've had! I loved the hole-in-the-wall vibe with more than enough tables and seating plus good music. The soy & garlic and sriracha honey chicken were more than amazing. I typically prefer bone-in chicken, but these huge pieces of boneless chicken were incredible. Large, juicy, and extremely filling! I loved the kimchi fried rice, the pork belly was on the side due to someone in our party not eating pork - but it was so good, even on the side! The tipsy fries were crunchy and came out fresh, and I LOVED the Rose tteokboki - huge portion with lots of rice cakes! Food came out quickly and we were able to eat shortly after ordering! read more

Tipsy Chicken is in the same plaza as H Mart. The interior was kind of dark but still seemed clean. The chicken sandwich was dry and definitely needed more of something. The chicken was crispy though and had good flavoring. The fries were good too. read more

Tipsy Chicken Definitely a bar serving Korean Fried Chicken and other Korean favorites. Loud music to provide a vibe for the younger crowd. Majority are young adults or college students. Was busy on a Saturday night so we sat at the bar and ordered our food and watched Korean Boy Bands and Girl Bands along with a Korean cooking show on the 3 monitors behind the bar. Service and attention was excellent, always multiple people asking us if we needed anything. We did the wings which are good size in a quantity of 14, 7 - Soy Garlic and 7 - Sweet and Spicy I personally enjoyed the Soy Garlic Wings which I noted are a good size for wings with a nice batter crust. The sweet and spicy had a little kick but nothing extreme. Pork Belly Cheese Corn, is finished off with a blow torch, don't forget to stir and mix after the show. Honey Butter chicken wings and Soy Garlic chicken wings. For crunch it's a 5/5 but I recommend the soy garlic. We kinda wish we got a spicy flavor instead. . The spam kimichi fried rices was a 2/5 for me. FLAVOR and spicy was just not it. I'm not sure if I wanted more kimichi flavor or just that it needed some more gochugaru. . Then we had Rice cake and sausage skewers and I'm give them a 3/5. . Overall, just go for their fried chicken wings but there a defiantly other places near by that are just as good. read more

Recently visited here based off a friend recommendation. On paper this seems like a pretty good place, large open dining space, good location, but there were a couple misses when we were there. Firstly, the staff, although not very busy, were not very attentive, not great listeners when it came to order taking, and overall didn't really do anything to help improve the experience. The food itself was pretty standard. Friend chicken was freshly made and the wings were decent sized. The flavor itself was pretty normal when it comes to Korean friend chicken. The corn cheese was probably the best part, even if they got the order wrong (we had ordered a different version than the standard). It was melty, fresh, and seasoned well. Overall, kinda disappointing. My friend who had visited before also said this times experience was more lackluster than usual. Hopefully next time, if I come back, there are some improvements made. read more

Small place we had passed by a couple times on the way to H Mart and finally made it in. WELL WORTH IT! The chicken here is top tier, and the Pho was surprisingly delicious too. The food was really good. I really like the kimchi fried rice with Bulgogi. I want to come again just for this dish. The fried chicken was good too and they have the option of boneless however the meet was ... too juicy?!. Im more of a traditional breast chicken boneless but the breading and sauces are good. The service was good but the waitress seemed shy or in a rush also we asked for the corn cheese to go with the boneless and we didn't get it but it's ok because they didn't charged for it either. The building is small but they have bar seating space. No outside tables. Big parking lot but also it is busy area sometimes is hard to find a near spot. The place ambience is mostly quiet but they do play music so it is cool too. read more

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! I love out in Gilbert and try to come out as often as I can The fried chicken. It don't matter which one you get they are delish. Sooo crispy. I'm a sauce on the side kinda gurl. I don't like it too soggy. 10/10 Had the tekkboki. Chewy and a good amount of spice. 9/10 Dumplings. It would be hard to mess them up 10/10 Pho Tai. Piping hot. VEGGIES ARE SOOOOO FRESH. Good amount of meat. I love they serve it out of a metal bowl. This is good I wouldn't not order again but I could go else where for pho. They use just a little too much anis or let it soak too long for my taste. But I still would order it if needed. 7/10 Chicken Sandwich. Not really all that juicy according to my husband even with the sauce 7/10 BUT the fries!!!! O. M. G. BOMB BOMB BOMB!!! Stopped by during lunch on a weekend, not too busy. The staff greeted us quickly and kept checking up on us throughout our time there. Clean tables. I ordered the bone in-7 piece sweet and spicy Korean chicken. Wow!!! Y'all this was the best wings I've had in awhile-sweet, tangy, savory, and crunchy. What more could I ask for!? It was also served with a side of pickled daikon. My husband had the Korean chicken sandwich. I got in a few bites of that and wow another banger-LOL- I liked the aioli sauce and fresh veggies. Inside, a dynamic atmosphere, complete with an awesome playlist even my husband couldn't help but dance in his chair to along with fun mesmerizing lights, captivated my kids, while the impressive Halloween display left a lasting impression. Our culinary adventure began with irresistible tipsy fries, fried mandu, and refreshing iced water, thoughtfully provided by our server, who also kindly notified us of the gratuity policy for larger groups. I biggie because we knew it would be worth it. As we delved into the menu's diverse delights, Sapporo and Peach Soju complemented our choices. From the original Korean fried chicken to the Bulgogi fries, Rosé Tteokbokki, and pho tai, each dish was a testament to the chef's skill. If you're looking for the best Korean fried chicken place you've found it. Very simple menu making it easy to choose. The place is quite small and gets busy. Low light and loud music. So don't go there if you want an intimate conversation. Now for the food. If you're going with a group it's best to split because it's A LOT of chicken and you'll be able to try all three flavors. The chicken is super crispy and drenched in sauce. The best part about it is it doesn't lose its crisp with all the sauce and when sitting a while. The spicy chicken was good, but the soy garlic chicken was superior. Very garlicky with a touch of sweetness. The tiger fries were orangey golden. At first you'll think it's Cheeto fries, but it isn't. They reminded me of the nacho fries at Taco Bell without the cheese sauce. The rice cake sausage was good. Wasn't a fan of the sausage but you can never go wrong with rice cake. Nice and chewy with a little brittle crust. All in all this place is the best friend chicken place in the valley and you best believe I'll be back. Try it out, you won't regret it! ENJOY!! read more
Cool Korean Chicken place by the Hmart in Mesa. :) I was super excited about this place and finally got to try here. They are having a grand opening event until January 21st (2023), 1 cent Cass for 7 pieces wings, 1 cent soju for 14 pieces wings, and 1 cent pitcher for 21 pieces wings. We ordered 7 pieces sweet and spicy wings and spicy tteokpoki. Tteokpoki was ok, the portion was pretty small and the rice cake was a bit hard and somehow the sauce was bitter. But the chicken wings were super yum, each piece was huge and the sauce was yummy. If you knew Po chicken, this chicken just tastes like po chicken. But i assume since it's their grand opening day, they might be busy - mostly back of the chicken had no sauce on it. Chicken wings come with korean pickled radish, and it'll be extra $1 for another radish - which the portion was too small, compared to other korean chicken places. Anyways, i really liked the atmosphere and their chicken. I think their other food and service part would get much better as they settled down. Can't wait to try other dishes :-) read more
I've been eyeing this place for awhile every time I shop at Hmart since it's in the same plaza. My bf and came on a Sunday evening during the soft opening. It wasn't busy and we were seated right away. My bf and I ordered the spicy tteokbokki and the 14 piece wings with garlic soy and sweet & spicy. Our server said that the spicy tteokbokki was the spiciest thing on the menu, I was excited as I love spicy food. - Spicy Tteokbokki: It was pretty good, I liked the soup stock which was a good level of spice (for me). I liked the fish cakes and the egg was tasty too. The texture of the tteokbokki could have been better but it was still good overall. - Chicken Wings: They came out piping HOT when we bit into it. It was perfectly crispy and crunchy on the inside and was super JUICY and moist on the inside. Not gonna lie, these were THE juiciest KFC I ever had. The cook was on point. My bf's fav was the garlic soy which had a strong garlic flavor. The sweet & spicy was more mild but I liked this one more. The drumsticks were quite large but I'm a flats gal. Service was fantastic. Our server was very accommodating and the staff made sure that we had a great dining experience. Overall, Tipsy Chicken was great. Highly recommend! read more

Crunchy Korean fried chicken was delicious, we ordered the sweet and spicy. It was definitely sweet although the wings could have been spicer. We also ordered the Kimchi fried rice with Bulgogi. There was some spice or ingredient that just threw it off for me, at times I thought it was fish sauce or five spice or star anise. The service was very quick and pleasant. I found the prices a little high, but you will most likely have leftovers, so no need to cook a full dinner. The interior wall color is lacking in warmth, almost looks army green, it needs some attention for sure. They have plenty parking and easy access. Cheers read more

This is my favourite place to go. They play Kpop, sports, or whatever you'd like! The staff are super friendly and very helpful. Not to mention the food! Best Korean fried chicken I've ever had, it's straight up addicting. The neon lights create a great ambiance, providing an all around fantastic experience. I will be back. I am here now. If you go there for chicken, this is the place. I had fried chicken from various places in AZ, this place one of the good place to have chicken from. I also got toppoki.. that was little disappointing since you can get better one from hmart. Though service is okay, I saw some random people(assuming friends of servers) sitting at the bar table and chilling. That just doesn't seem too professional. Interior was okay.. they painted over and dimmed the light. It doesn't look expensive at all. But if you are here just for food with your friend to hang, this is the place. read more

We were so excited to try this place and happy they finally opened. Service was great, the staff was very attentive and nice but don't expect your chicken to come out fast. Fries was cooked perfectly. The tipsy sauce it came with tasted like typical sriracha and mayo. Truffle Mayo was good too. The Chicken was cooked to perfection! so crispy, juicy and HOT. My bf and I only ate one of each since the sauce it was tossed in was pretty salty (i would order some white rice on the side). Soy Garlic was good but I wasn't a fan of the sweet&spicy. Spice level was a 1. Drinks didn't come out the same time which was a little weird but I'm sure everyone is still training. Above the Cloud tasted like canned Lychee juice and Rose, wasn't strong (definitely pretty for the gram but i would skip) My bf got the Day Booster which was very refreshing and delicious. This place is perfect for a night out when you're drunk and have the munchies. We would come back to try their other sides and maybe the original flavored chicken. Food: 4 stars. We ordered 14 pieces of boneless Korean fried chicken (KFC) and the bulgogi fries. We chose Sweet & Spicy flavor for 7 pieces and Sweet Fish Sauce Glaze for the other 7 pieces. Both were delicious. Crispy crunch to the batter and juicy, generous portions of chicken. I would recommend eating with steamed rice though (we had some leftovers and ate with steamed rice at home the next day). It didn't come with any steamed rice which is disappointing, so maybe that's something they could consider adding to their menu. The cubed pickled radish that comes with the Korean fried chicken is a great balancing banchan (side dish) to the meal. Adds a refreshing crunchy bite. The only reason it does not get 5 stars is because I bit into some bones on multiple pieces of "boneless" Korean fried chicken. If the chef/food prepper took a little more time in making sure their boneless chicken pieces didn't have any bone shards that the unassuming customer could bite into and possibly crack their teeth, then it would definitely be a 5 star review. Bulgogi fries were good - generous portioned, crispy seasoned fries, melted cheese and good amount of bulgogi. Service: 5 stars. We walked up to the bar and ordered to-go for me, my wife and mom. The guy behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming. He added that 7 pcs of KFC is more than enough for one person so that helped us gauge on what to order for 3 people. So the 14 pcs of KFC and bulgogi fries was more than enough for the 3 of us (granted, we are 3 smol asian people lol). Always appreciate friendly, helpful people in the service industry, which seems to be more rare to find these days. Ambiance: 4 stars. Walking in, it felt like a night club/lounge. The bar is the first thing I see from the entrance. There's no hostess or anyone to greet you at the front so I stood at the entrance for a second to figure out where I could go to order for take-out. Luckily the person behind the bar greeted us to ask if we needed a table. That's when I walked up to the bar to ask for a menu and ordered. As a new dad, I was thinking/looking for a place to possibly sit down and eat with my 2 month old baby, but decided on take-out instead because of the ambiance. Definitely does not scream family friendly. But for sure a chill spot for date night. Overall 4 stars. Would recommend but there's room for improvement. The place has taken over what used to be Po Chicken.. and this is my first time here since the switch happened... my friend and her kids ordered the fried chicken while I ordered the corn cheese and the chicken sandwhich.. overall Everything tasted good.. but I had to take a couple stars away bc once 1) none of our foods came out at the same time.. so while I waited for my friend and her kids food came out bc I didn't want to be rude.. my food got cold.. 2) once all the food came out the staff totally forgot about us.. which was kinda unfortunate but other than that.. the food was good.. read more
