His kindness and the tasty yucca fritta stayed with me over the years. It's been a couple years, but on a recent trip through the area I decided to come back! The small shop is a quaint no frills location (fyi no public bathroom), just as I remembered it. I changed up my order this time around, opting for the seafood soup, shrimp cocktail, Salvadoran horchata, and a custom grilled chicken plate with the yucca fritta of course. The owner was so accommodating and guided us through the menu like last time. The food was tasty, simple, and light. You gotta get the yucca fritta, it hits every time. I've always been taken care of right away and my orders come out pretty quickly. The downsides are that the restaurant feels a bit stuffy, and on my last visit there were quite a few flies around, which made eating a challenge. Otherwise, i still highly recommend this place.

We went to pay our bill as she assumed and up charged us for bigger pupusas than what I had pointed to on the menu. When I asked her about it, she said that she assumed that's what we wanted.
