Just don't eat here! We originally wanted to go to the Peruvian place around the corner but they had a "B" health grade so we passed on that. There was a couple tables seated inside this resident so we said "why not, let La try something new". First off they don't have a restroom or it wasn't operational or the Linda at the counter didn't feel like being helpful. We just wanted to wash our hands prior to eating. We ordered the pupusas special on their menu which is 2 pupusas for like $5.69 or something close to that, and one additional cheese and jalapeno one. When she brought the condiments to our table she spilled them which was no biggie. I offed to just wipe it myself. Our food came and we got 4 pupusas. No big deal we weren't gunna complain. Food was below subpar, no flavor and the masa had an off putting smell. As far as the food goes I would NEVER come back here, now would I recommend this place. I wanted to put the tomato based sauce on my pupusas but it was crusty and and when I opened it there was mold growing in the lid. Unfortunately I didn't see this till after we left. We went to pay our bill as she assumed and up charged us for bigger pupusas than what I had pointed to on the menu. When I asked her about it, she said that she assumed that's what we wanted. I let her know that I wanted what we had pointed at in the menu. When I asked her to refund us the difference she said she couldn't because the manager wasn't there and if I wanted to come back. All of this with a very entitled attitude. If there were zero stars, I would rate them that. Incredibly unhappy with my experience here and I'm shocked they're still in business. read more

I went here on a Tuesday evening. I ordered a super papusa but I didn't understand how it worked. I misread the sign that showed what was included for options so I ordered a super papusa with only chicharron and queso. The cashier gave me a confused look but still proceeded with my order. Super papusas are only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays The menu was only in Spanish only so it might make it a bit difficult for people who don't know Spanish or can't use a translator app. Anyways even though I botched my order the papusa they gave me was still good. It was very big (~1 foot in diameter) and has a nice crunch and the cheese was gooey. They also gave me curtido as an appetizer. We went during their papusa special and were charged full price. When we asked about it, she said we must request them because they are way smaller -- that's not a deal. I got the bean and cheese papusa and the birria papusa. They lacked flavor and were greasy. It took 30+ minutes to get our food and we were the only customers. Nice inside was very slow, ordered to go. Received my order, 3 pupusas and a large drink. Made my way to the car and the whole drink splashed into my car, I wasn't even told to not hold it from the top. My driver seat is now wet and sticky, went back in to ask for more napkins but wasn't even offered a new one drink after I said the cap wasn't even on right and I had no idea to grab from the side. I placed an order over the phone for 8 Popusas. I asked for the special and the lady said yes. When we got there we were charged for 6 on the special and the other 2 regular price. I told her that she had not told me that the ones with cheese were not on the special and with an attitude she said that they were not and only the others were. Once again she gave me attitude and repeated herself. I said that she didn't say but we paid for them and we went home. She gave us a small amount of curtido like for 2 Popusas but we bought 8. When we ate then there was hardly anything inside the Popusas. I actually paid top dollar for tortillas with a smudge of nothing. This was my second time coming but it will definitely be the last time. You don't treat your customers like that. My husband ordered 2 pupusas with birria and I ordered 2 RV and 1 BCL. They gave him 1 of mine and gave me one of his! I wouldn't have said anything and just swap but he had already added hot sauce! I've had a hard time finding a decent pupusa spot out here in the AV. I had lost all hope until we walked into Pupusas La Buena Vida. We ordered chicharrón and cheese pupusas which were phenomenal! They had a good cheese/chicharrón ratio and tasted like they came right off the comal to the plate. We also had their empanadas both the beans and the milk kind and they were also tasty! The service needs a little improvement, but as this is a new business growing pains is expected. The staff were very friendly. So please be patient, the food is worth the wait. The dining room area is very clean, a little tight if you're on the fluffier side like myself but I made it work. Overall! Great experience, great quality of food/ingredients! Today I went to this new restaurant and let me tell you about my experience. When the first time I entered this establishment, everything looked great, the seats, the interior, it was great. The smell inside the restaurant is really good, enough to start making someone hungry. Now about the service; It's not bad neither good, but it's something at least. It took a while for someone to come and get our orders, but at least it gave us time to think about what this restaurant has to offer. Lastly, the food here is actually good (well, I'd only tried 1, but still.) In other words, this food is good but I don't fine any difference between other Salvadoran restaurants within Lancaster. In conclusion. I give this restaurant 2.5, why? Because even though it's a good restaurant, there are some things that they should work on, especially on the costumer service, or add a bathroom that people wanna use, not where you have to walk to the kitchen and come back, unsanitary. Overall, it's a good restaurant I think people should come here, but I hope they improve the issue I states earlier. read more

I'm so glad this Salvi restaurant opened up! The food is absolutely delicious. I've gone there twice and both times the pupusas were consistent. That's what I look for. I recently visited pupusas la buena vida the other night and was blown away by the delicious food and exceptional service. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I loved how the young lady greeted us and how the other lady severed us too. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. I would just recommend you order ahead of time to dine in cause it gets a little busy.
