My go-to spot for good Salvadorian food in East Palmdale. I think the staff is sweet but I do recommend that you come here ready to judge them for their food- not their hospitality. These folks work hard and make everything fresh so the customer interaction isn't what steals the show here. I recommend the Pupusas and the Enchilada (not at all like Mexican Enchiladas... more like a Salvi Mulita), any of their breakfast plates + they make my favorite Salpicon (if you like ceviche this plate is similar in freshness but it's beef instead of fish- don't knock it till you try it). I love stopping in for a fresh orange juice (I swear it tastes like orange bang because they whip it) or an Ensalada drink. read more

I've eaten across hundreds of different Salvadoran restaurants here and in El Salvador and never have I eaten a typical salvi breakfast without cream and with chorizo. We simply thought they forgot the cream and they had the audacity to tell us that the dish doesn't come with cream. That it's always served this way, which is incorrect. They need to change the dishes name and stop false advertising it. That or their being super cheap on the cream for some reason. Beans were super salty, chorizo had zero flavor. A disgusting disappointment of a meal for that price, I could've cooked at home a way more delicious meal than this restaurant. Never going back to these fake cheap people. read more

The food was mediocre. I ordered pupusas revueltas y pastelitos de carne (beef). The service was horrible. I called to let them know that I had the incorrect order of pastelitos. The lady on the phone didn't acknowledge the mistake instead she said that their beef looks like chicken due to the tomato sauce. I kept telling her this is definitely white meat and I even found a stick in my food but she didn't care. Basically she just apologized that I didn't like their food but in no way any attempt to correct or redo my order was made. They lost a customer for good! Horrible customer service. We placed an order over the phone & they told us it'd be ready in 30-40 minutes. We show up after an hour, and they said they can't find our order. They told us they will work on making our order an HOUR after we placed it over the phone. After waiting an additional 30 minutes, the food still wasn't done. I also tried their atole de elote which was so comforting and delicious. I had never had a canoa before and very much enjoyed it. I like that neither the atole or the canoa were overly sweet. Always fantastic! Don't be swayed by some of the low reviews. Yes, sometimes they take a little while to bring out your food. So don't come if you're in a rush. But it takes a while because the food is made to order so it is always fresh. So it is COMPLETELY worth it if you have the time. Food is always awesome! Thursdays are the 1/2 off day and they only had one person preparing them , at least have enough staff to help cook . Or be honest with the wait time . This has been a family favorite for years, we love pupusas and platano pastelitos (basically like empanadas made of plantain that either are filled w/ black beans or custard) they also serve a drink called En Salada which is a sweet refreshing drink made with chopped apples and mango. Anyway, this is a good little Salvadoran place with freshly made pupusas. Sparsely decorated with 6 tables or so. The "staff" or lady at the counter was helpful and attentive with any questions we had. As she tried her broken English and I tried my broken Spanish, we connected. There was a bond there in our language barrier. Thin and crispy masa exterior with smooth and creamy interior. A couple of pollo, chicharron and revuelta pupusas and we were in heaven. The pollo pupusas were good and the chicarron were ok, but the revueltas won the show with their creamy mixture of beans, meat and cheese. Nicely seasoned without being overpowered by salt and herbs. The curtido was freshly made and crunchy. Great little mural on the wall...too bad I didn't have a camera to capture it. Oh yeah I only have a camera phone. I'm a fan of this place, its pretty yummy. Their prices are reasonable. I've only ate the papusas' which are pretty darn good. The only thing is, if you DONT know spanish like ME, it could be difficult to order. Luckily, I know enough spanish to somewhat understand them. Also, THEY TAKE FOREVER!!
