First walking into Dona Blanca I was hit with the sweet and savory scent of freshly made plantains and pupusas. It smelled so delicious I decided to get the fried plantains, pupusas, and caldo de pollo. This place by far has the best salvie pupusas and I will be coming back! El service al client deja mucho que desear. Usual mente ordenas pupusas los Jueves por la especial que tienen. Hoy siendo Jueves ordenas 5 pupusas, un chile relleno de queso, una sopa de res y una orden de empanadas. Cuando me dieron el total me cobraron las pupusas a precio regular. Cuando le pregunté a la señora Marta porque me están cobrando precio regular en ves de la especial del Jueves. La señora me contestó que cuando se ordena después de las 7:30 las pupusas se cobrar por el precio regular. Ella tiene que pagar a los empleados 30 minutos más para poder hacer la orden y agregó que yo no le pregunté de la especial cuando puse la orden. Le dije que era el deber de ella como trabajadora or dueña del local hacerle saber al cliente que el precio de las pupusas cambia después de las 7:30. La señora Marta es una persona muy cerrada. No tiene modales para tratar al cliente. La comida tiene buen sabor pero con la clase de personas que trabajan allí el local no va a progresar. Y la de orden del chille relleno está equivocada. Usually we order pupusas on Thursdays because of the special they have. Today being Thursday we ordered five pupusas, Chileno de queso, an order of empanadas de Leche and an order of beef soup. When the lady gave me the total I asked, why was I being charged regular price for the Pupusas. The lady named Martha said that after 7:30 the order of the pupusa are charged a regular price because she has to pay employees 30 minutes more to stay to complete the orders. I told her that I understood the reasoning for the price change however as the owner or employee of the restaurant she needed to inform the customer of the price change after 7:30. She has the special on the board as well, but it does not say anything about regular price being charged after 7:30. The lady went as far saying that I didn't ask her about the special when I placed the order. I told her that I didn't think I needed to since I was placing an order for pupusa on Thursday. The lady Marta is so close minded she cannot see or understand that is their responsibility to inform the customer of the price difference after 7:30. She needs to give the customer the option of wanting to continue with the order knowing that after 7:30 the price is regular charge for the pupusa. I word... RUDE! I'm all about supporting small businesses. But this one has officially lost me. I was taking pupusas to my son for lunch. I had asked for 3 of them to be placed in a separate container. She said the minimum per container is 5.. well since I was ordering some for my family at home, fine I'll separate it myself. When it was ready she gave me 2 cortido and 1 salsa. Again, I'm dropping off 1 container somewhere else, I asked if I can get 1 more salsa. She said $3... ok. Well how about an extra ziplock bag I'll just separate it myself. She said no. The have stacks of styrofoam cups behind them. Can I get a small cup?! She rolls her eyes and asks the lady eating in the corner (I didn't even realize they worked there. )She rudely says you'll have to pay for it... $1.50! The lady I'm talking to answers the phone and rudely asks what I want to do?! I ask for the cup. I said I don't have a problem paying for it, I just needed something... We enjoyed the food, but the service was hit, or miss. In all honesty, it was mostly miss. When I was handed the credit card receipt, I could not miss the fact that there was no place to actually sign it. There was also no place to make a note of the tip. I am extremely disappointed with the owner. I have been a loyal customer for the last 3 years. Always placing orders of minimum $50 or more. In the last two weeks I've spent $130 in this place. I called today to place an order an instead of taking my order the owner accused me of ordering a breakfast and not showing up for it. I have never placed and order and not showed up or paid for it. I told the owner your confusing me, she said let me verify the number. She very rudely took the call back and said give me your order. They claim people have been calling up thier banks in an effort to get thier money back and keep the food and that they need info to back up thier claims incase she would do the same?? Best pupusas in the AV!! I've been all over trying to find a pupusa that's just right and this place is it. They have ensalada drink which is sometimes hard to find in salvi restaurants, and is amazing. The interior of the restaurant isn't much, but that doesn't matter when the food makes up for it. I can't believe I've never stopped by this place. I wanted a tamale that taste like my grandmothers (Guatemalan) so I stopped in Dona Blanca. Wow! The tamale was right on time and so was the papusa. The horchata . Maybe I wasn't use to the taste. I didn't drink it but I still paid for it. The bottled Coca Cola worked perfectly fine. Everything was fresh and the servers were great. I ordered the Chicharron & Cheese ones & Revueltas (mixed meat, beans and cheese) and the family devoured them up! Personally, I favored the Chicharron and cheese ones... So delectable! The curtido (cabbage slaw) was the best I've had, but the red sauce was watery as hell lol. First I'm simply shocked by the comments about staff rudeness. I have eaten here many times and they have been nothing but kind, considerate and patient with me. I speak a tiny bit of, very bad, spanish and the ladies go out of their way to let me think I'm ordering in spanish. They never rush me and explain everything graciously. The food is so delicious and the prices so inexpensive, it is a very good value. The curtido has always been a generous amount for the amount of pupusas and the salsa is perfectly flavored and balanced. I'm grateful to have this wonderful restaurant so close to my home. The food is excellent, very well seasoned, but we always go eat there knowing we need to review the bill closely because they (almost) always overcharge. We always say we will not return, but today we wanted the food and this time they charged an extra $14. I don't understand the need to steal from customers. Their yuca con chicharrón is the same, two or three pieces of chicharrón and yuca and very expensive. Attitude is very poor too.
