Mexican food for the West Texans soul. If you want Mexican food that taste like the Midland/Odessa area then look no further. Tipico's is hands down the best Mexican food in the Addison, Carrollton and Farmers Branch area. Their home made tortillas, corn and flour, are some of the best I've had anywhere. With top notch service Tipico's Is the place I would truly recommend for authentic Mexican comfort food. Try it you won't be disappointed read more

Ok, we have been here 4 different times, the first three was very good, etc. The last time was Friday 7/25/17, it was the worst food ever. The service was friendly, but we ran out of chips, drinks, etc. The food finely came, 4 of the 6 people didn't eat, it was that bad. We did all order all different dinners, the quality was not there. I do feel bad because I told every one how they were. I do wish then success, but they need to ask questions...." how was your dinner" when you see the plates are still full. I might go back, and give it a second chance. read more

Great pl to eat fast excellent service can't go wrong...been here several times never been disappointed. ...must try

For real and really good Mexican food come here. The tortillas and guisado are going to be the best you can get in the Dallas area. My parents love the beef caldo and the price was not too bad. Haven't tried the breakfast here yet but it looks crazy good! read more

i love the breakfast here....it's great for that morning after you drink too much!!! this particular location....i'm not a fan of the service...the waitresses are always just standing around by the bar & just look you up & down when you walk in. they speak once you speak to them and ask for assistance.....wth!!! it's horrible service...but i always get my food to go!!! just once i'd like to get some more inviting service that will make me want to sit down in here & eat!! read more

Amazing!!! Home made tortillas, crispy bacon, fluffy eggs!! They make amazing breakfast tacos that are full of flavor and delicious. 5 visits later and I still can't find anyplace that compares. Their cooking skills don't stop there, beef enchiladas and the tripa plate are the best in town!! Crispy chips, big portions and decent prices! We have finally found a great authentic mexican restaurant! I highly recommend this place. read more

This place has a true authinticity to it, from the paintings on the walls to the painted cement floor. I have eaten at places like this in Mexico. If you are a fan of cheap and real eat here on a Tuesday or Thursday for lunch and your meal will consist of bottom less chips and salsa and grilled fajitas with rice and GREAT refried beans "not fat free". Tuesdays are chicken and Thursdays are chicken and beef combo. I eat here 3 to 4 times a month and lunch specials are $5.49. Great deal and good food. ENJOY! read more

this is my favorite Sunday brunch spot. I always have the barbacoa plate and it is always delicious. The menudo is hit and miss, sometimes really good, sometimes it's a little bland. the service is good but you can't be afraid to wave a waitress down. The breakfast tacos and good, chorizo being my favorite. OH and the coffee is GREAT!! read more

Server took our order, somebody else delivered it and nobody was seen after. Went to the bar to get the takeout container for the food going to the chickens. Utterly tasteless. No spice at all. Even the toreadors were bland. I was excited about the tortillas but they were bland too. I never use salt but since that was the only thing on the table I was forced to salt the chips. S didn't help. Chicken fajitas with corn and flour tortillas read more

I originally started at her mothers restaurant on n.w. Hwy. about 15years ago and loved it. When the daughter opened this one I was in love all over again! They have the best spinach enchiladas I probably have ever had. This is a must come to restaurant! read more

What a great find! Usually, Mexican restaurants all taste the same to me (I know: heresy), but this one stands out. I got the Bistake de Mexicana and that was some of the most tender, flavorful beef I've had. My wife had the mole de pollo and the sauce was really good. Definitely try it out if you have a chance. read more

This Place was fantastic! I got the Carne Asada and the flavor was amazing! You seat yourself and the look of the place is a bit strange and the atmosphere is a bit wierd but like the other reviewers say, don't let that deter you. The food is awesome! read more

Had to do a new review. Had the chili rellano. Unfortunately, the beef filling, while abundant in quantity, lacked any pizzazz with regard to flavoring, ie no hint of onion or garlic. read more

Never had a nacho cheese, yellow cheese, at a Mexican restaurant. Not very good. The warm and cold salsas were interesting. Soda sold by the can? Chips were ok. Camarones were good. Corn tortillas goods Food tastes very homemade; a true authentic. Not racing back for my tastes. read more

The Mexican food was so good and authentic. Not texmex at all. The torillas flour and corn were homemade. If you are in this area this is the place to go for good Mexican food! read more

This is the real deal Mexican food along with the flavors of Mexico. You could put this place anywhere in Mexico and it would fit right in the neighborhood. The service is one person takes all the orders then they are delivered to your table by the kitchen staff. When your done you just walk up and tell them where you sat and then pay. Simple if you know how it works otherwise you might go away thinking how bad service was. The food is good for the price and very authentic. Stay away from the fajitas since as there are much better options on the menu. My vote for some of the best flour tortillas around Dallas. read more

Always a good spot for a quick tex mex food fix... Even if you need a hangover fix on the weekend the menudo will fix...O and if you have never been it says seat yourself. I saw a review complaining about that... read more

Went for breakfast yesterday, ordered the 3 lengua (cow tongue)tacos plate. Opened one of the tacos and to my surprise, they had not peeled the outer skin off the lengua. Not good visually or taste-wise. Pointed out to our waitress and she apologized profusely and agreed that it was not the correct way to serve lengua. She went to the back and checked and came back and said it was all like that, so no replacement. Now some people may like it like that but that is the first time at any Mexican restaurant that it has been served like that. That is just being lazy. Only reason for 2 stars was the service. It was great. Of course, no refund or anything....even though the cashier also agreed that that was not the correct way to serve.... read more

A group of friends and I decided to try this resturant on the reviews previously . The waitress spent most of the meal on a cellphone, the drinks were really filled and all the food was delivered Luk-warm. The tortillas were good and warm. The atmosphere was quite because the resturant was empty at 5 in the evening. read more

We had high-er expectations from this place. A hole in the wall mexican place.. hell ya. It was gross. Why even have "queso" on the menu if you're going to pour it from a can and charge $5! Yes, $5 and it is literally fake cheese you can get at the grocery store from a can. Service wasn't good and the food was just, off. I would not recommend this place at all. It is overpriced for the quality and location. read more

The food here is spectacular, along with the service. However, I feel that there needs to be a hostess up in the front of the restaurant. When my husband and I arrived, we wandered inside the entrance for a solid 10 minuets. No one there greeted customers like most do. Then there where several other families behind us waiting. While all of us wondering aimlessly, a friendly waitress sat my husband and I in her section. The food and service made up that experience. Salsas, tortillas are truly authentic. I recommend the menudo y huevos rancheros. Es muy rico! read more

This place is disgusting! This is not authentic Mexican food. Chilaquiles without salsa? Flavorless menudo with tortillas? Don't even waste your time. Nasty, nasty, nasty. If you've never had Mexican food- then, maybe, you'll think this is acceptable. read more

Another great place for authentic Mexican food- enchiladas and beans were delicious - read more

Definitely our favorite go-to Mexican place when we want fantastic carnitas! They don't speak great English and they aren't always happy to see us gringos...but the food is really good. read more

The menudo wasn't that great, it really needs some hominy, I swear I got a bowl of tripe. It's a seat yourself type gig.

Amazing! Some of the best, and no doubt, the most authentic Mexican I have ever had. It was mind bogglingly good and super fresh. The tortillas, bar none, best I have ever had. I got the barbacoa tacos - incredible! My wife got the beef soup and it rocked her world - all natural, all fresh, whole ingredients. You can't go wrong. Friendly staff and great service. The good also came out only about 5 minutes after we ordered. Really nice and fair prices for the high quality and great food that you are getting. Highly recommend if you are choosing on where to eat! read more

Tipico's - Barbacoas tacos! - Mexican Near Me - Carrollton, Texas

See all

Where to start, first off we walked in and gave our name and was told a 10 min wait. Then the hostess kept seating people that came after us and we asked what was going? She said that she called our name along to time ago, 5 of us said we didn't here and she basically called us liars. So 29min later we were seated. They sat 5 of us in a tight area where they would make one of us get up every time the waitress would serve people behinds us got old fast. Then the meal finally arrived and this is what we get. There's something odd about this pic can you see it? I guess they thought we needed our Iron. So we returned there hardware back to the kitchen and then they returned it to us after all of us were done with our meals. We paid our tab and left. What gets me is there was no effort to comp the meal or an apology from anyone or even a free dessert we could have had a big dentist bill if we weren't careful. NEVER again! read more

Food was great.. horrible service. I have been coming to this restaurant for over two years and seems like the service is getting worst each visit. New help each visit while owner sets on his butt up away from the counter. I went back 02-08-17. Still horrible service read more

Decided to try this place after eating at their Dallas location. Never again. The service was extremely slow. They weren't too busy, not sure why they were slow. We had a new waitress every time and they all still managed to forget what we ordered. The food was ok, not the greatest. I had the fajitas and they were dry and not seasoned. My dad ordered a guisado de puerco and he said it lacked in flavor, no salt and not spicy. We will be going back to the Dallas location next time. read more

The service here is HORRIBLE!! 15 minutes for them to even acknowledge me, I had to wave the cashier down, she took my order and told me my drinks would be right out and 10 minutes later still nothing. A different lady brought me a menu and I told her I ordered but never was brought chips or drink, she tells me she will have them right out and I see here coming with 3 bowls of chips and she took them to other waiting customers, at this point we got up and left.. read more

The men's restroom has a floor drain that spews sewer gas into the restroom. Why do Mexican run businesses think this is acceptable? Places with dirty/stinky restrooms really turn me off. read more

I've only been here once. And it was my fault for going on a Sunday late morning/early afternoon. They were packed. It was actually pretty hot in there when we went. But all in all the food was pretty good. I'm not sure why I haven't been back yet? Guess I'll have to fix that soon :) read more
