I cannot say enough great things about Steve and his crew! From the moment I requested a quote Steve was responsive, clear and professional. On the day of the move, he was efficient, without making me feel rushed. I was doing an in-town move from Sac City College/ Land Park area to Midtown. They loaded up (I did my own packing), drove and unloaded in less than the quoted time Steve had estimated me at. (Make sure to still give a nice tip when this happens folks) They were very careful with my possessions, and were super flexible with midtown traffic and parking. This was my first time hiring professional movers, and I will absolutely be using Tip Top Movers again. I did a lot of shopping around/ reading yelp reviews before I settled on Tip Top Movers. Most of the companies in Sac appear to have a 3 hour minimum, Tip Top has a 2 hour minimum. Which is very helpful for those of us who are younger, doing an in-town move, or just have fewer possessions. They're quick, polite, clean, professional and their pricing is fair, if not the best in town when you consider the two hour minimum. One final note, on top of the stress of moving, I had a chest cold the day Steve and his team arrived. Let me start off by saying I actually canceled another moving company when I read all the reviews about this one. For the record I have moved 7 times in the last 10 years. We used Bekins last move and they were a little on the pricey side, but worth it now that I think about it. As for this company the two men we hired arrived on time and were very kind. The reason I would never use them again or recommend them is because almost all my furniture was scratched, dented or damaged. This includes an antique piece given to me by a family member and is irreplaceable. I know it is just furniture, but it is disappointing to look at dents in your lamps. scratches on your dining room and coffee tables. Every where I look I see evidence that my items were not treated with respect. I am sad to write this review. The short version of my experience with tip Tip Top Movers is that i am beyond impressed with the moving service they provide, and they have moved me twice. . Through moves during college and a job transfer afterward I had hired movers previously, I had a few bad experiences with professional movers ranging from late to careless, and one who showed up with inadequate help and equipment. I was enticed by the rates at Tip Top Movers so i gave them a call and talked to Steve, he answered all of my questions and was flexible about scheduling my move, so I booked it. The day of my move they showed up right on time, took a few minutes to inventory my belongings with me and then went right to loading the moving truck both men were extremely careful and equally quick. When we arrived at my new place Steve asked how and where i wanted my things set up, and again went right to work. This move went very quick. It was on my second move that I knew Tip Top Movers was absolutely the best. I called Steve on pretty short notice to schedule my move and the forecast showed rain the entire week (but I didn't have much choice, b/c my moving date was that week. Steve checked the forecast and found the only morning that showed clear weather and showed up at 8am. He assured me that if it began to rain he would take extra precautions to keep my belongings as dry as possible. Miraculously when the move was done by 10:30 (keep in mind I only had a one bedroom to pack and move and I only moved a couple miles away) and as the final boxes were being moved into my apartment, it began to pour. i can't thank Steve enough for helping to schedule my move around such bad weather and making an incredible effort to take advantage of the only dry hours that entire week. i have recommended Tip Top Mover to my friends, CoWorkers, neighbors and those who have used their service have been equally pleased. read more

I don't take the time to write very many reviews. I wait until there is a company that stands out and causes me to marvel at the quality of their product. Tip Top Movers is such a company. Their professionalism is without equal as several have mentioned. But I think their genuine concern for your "stuff" is what really sets them apart. Steve packs your belongings like they are precious antiques. When he was presented with a surprise item that needed to be tied to a wall of the truck, after it was already packed, it would have been so easy to just stuff it in between other items and tie it as best as he could but that is not how Steve does things. No, he partially unpacked the load to make sure the item was secured properly and in the proper place in the truck so as not to damage it or any other items. Another thing is that they are fast. Many might think that a service company being paid by the hour might pad a bit. Not these guys, they earn every penny. They are always carrying something coming or going. Packing supplies when walking in and as much furniture and boxes as they can when walking out. Finally, something you don't see from many businesses these days, compassion. When I called them a while back, I was desperate to have some furniture moved right away. I think they could tell that I was very concerned. It was the perfect opportunity to add a "rush charge." Steve just fit me in between his already filled schedule that day, and there was no extra charge, just the normal and very reasonable charge.. Now I'm not speaking for Steve or that he would always be able to add someone in like that, but that day he could, and he did, and he earned a customer for life. Simply put, these guys are the best movers around. You don't have to trust my review just take a look at the almost 50 other ones that all say the same thing. These guys are absolutely fantastic! First, when I called Tip Top Movers actually answered the phone every single time. Several of the other top rated movers in the Sacramento region always took a message and had to call back. Some of them never even called back after I left a message, but I never had a problem reaching Tip Top Movers. Their prices are absolutely fantastic, much cheaper than the competitors with a lower hourly minimum charge. The guys showed up five minutes early, after a handshake and a signature the guys starting moving right away, I seriously signed the paper turned around and 3 boxes were going down the stairs. The entire move went smoothly, the guys wrapped up anything sensitive like my TV, handled all items with care, and never even took a single break during the entire move. When I hit 5 stars for rating Tip Top Movers it says "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" and that is the honest truth! We have never used a moving company before, we always enticed friends with a bbq of thanks got a truck and spent an entire day schlepping out items down the stairs out of the house then when we made it to the new place, schlepped everything back up the stairs. OMGosh! We were all exhausted, the bbq was brutal because we were just baked by the time we were finished. This time, we decided to get movers. I went here to yelp and scrolled down until I saw 5 stars, oddly enough they were not at the top but should have been, and were today when I looked them up! Yay! 3 tall strapping men show up at our door clean, presentable, and ready to work. We had taken apart most of the furniture because we wanted to save time, but they went to town picking and packing everything up we had for them, then we put the beds back together. It was the hottest day of the year, 111 to be exact, but they didn't slow down, they didn't miss a beat. These guys were kind, courteous, respectful and patient around our children and when the girls weren't around. Not a swear word was heard, just complete professionalism. I was stunned. We had them take all the big items which was a lot, 4 bedrooms, living room, family room, dining room, appliances, etc. They were respectful of both homes, damaged nothing, not one item or wall. They worked with speed and moved us from a 2500 sqft home to another similar sized home, close in proximity. We ended up using 4.5 hours! 4.5 hours!!!! Overall Tip Top made moving a piece of cake. After calling around and getting quotes, and checking the Public Utility Commission's records for movers, Tip Top came out with a great estimate and checked out as licensed, insured and in good standing. I moved from a 1 bedroom with garage storage into a similar place a few miles away,and was quoted for two hours with a two man crew. I compared the estimate from Tip Top with a "you do it" truck rental and mileage, and the difference in price was enough to justify the heavy lifting up and down stairs by Steve and Andy, and the secure way everything was put into the truck (which I could never accomplish). Since I was moving from a shared house, Steven and Andy paid a ton of attention to how I separated my belongings and I pitched in carrying the small stuff to the truck to speed things up. This local company charges rates that are a little better than their competitors (every bit counts!) and there are no hidden costs (like per mile charges I've paid with other movers). They do all the standard stuff like being on time, disassembling bed frame, bagging matresses, and wrapping tvs. The guys are super strong and creative- when my couch wouldn't fit through the front door they brought it over the rear fence (no gate, so they made it happen!). They assembled furniture that needed it, including my beds and treadmill. And they finished everything in our agreed time. They did all of this during a record breaking heat wave. Not a thing was damaged, everything was in the right room, and they believe that if they take it apart - they should put it back together.
