Scheduled a move for 10/14 at 1pm. They pushed the time back because of a delay with the move before me. I had to reach out for updates. They then canceled on me 20 minutes before the rescheduled time, saying they *couldnt* leave the other move to honor my appointment even tho the other person wasn't even packed. (They just wanted that extra hourly cost from that person I'm sure). Rescheduled for the next day. Cost me money because I had already paid for daycare and for a cleaner to come to my old place. I had to pay for another day of day care and pay my cleaning person a cancellation fee plus the cleaning fee. Almost $300. Despite being very clear about moving a 1400sq ft place, they showed up with a truck that was too small to do it in one trip as discussed (Dragging out the time/cost). One mover was polite. The other was rude and the overall experience was beyond unprofessional. They left me with scratched and wobbly/damaged furniture from mishandling. They even asked us to help move things ! When the office person sent the text requesting payment, I asked about the price being adjusted for the huge and expensive inconvenience they caused me the day before and she was reluctant to do anything. After my insistence she gave me a small discount, but in actuality I should not have paid a dime over the originally quoted price due to the unprofessionalism and what they cost me by canceling. I asked if they were an insured company and she refused to answer or address my damaged furniture. She was generally pretty defensive and kept repeating the same excuse instead of wanting to accommodate me. I will obviously never recommend or use this company. read more

Raylyn us VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Our house burned down on the 4th of July and people were pilfering our home. I contacted Raylyn Sunday the 9th of July. She told me that the soonest they had was Tuesday the 11th. When I asked what time she responded with a link and told me to book on their site. I went to their site and saw that Monday was available so I assumed that she misinformed me and booked for Monday at 1115am. I even sent messages letting them know that I may need some things boxed up and asked if they had tape guns and boxes. I was told that I needed to bring my own equipment and they would charge for labor. I said that was fine and went to get a storage unit. I get a msg from Raylyn 3hrs later letting me know that per our conversation on Google she changed my appointment to Tuesday at 10am. I have an appointment at noon that day so I responded with... "Hi Raylyn. As per my Google conversation I also asked how early and for Monday. I was aslo told to schedule on your site which showed availability on Monday. Don't you think that changing my date and time warrants a call? 10am on Tuesday is too late. How early on Tuesday can your crew get to the site? Later today would have been better." She responds with "OK I will go ahead and cancel your appointment. Again, I did tell you to the messaging, that we were available Tuesday " I was floored! So I went on their site and checked their availability and saw 8am on Tuesday was available. So I booked it and charged the deposit. After I made the booking I am going to go out on a limb and say that Raylyn canceled it as soon as she saw it. I sent a message asking why? But I haven't gotten a response. I tried to call but I think she blocked my number. I mean... c o m m u n i c a t i o n .... she could have told.me that 10am was the earliest and I would have asked for another day. It's fine. They lost a good customer because they hired an immature Neanderthal for a booking agent if you can't communicate clearly and concisely then maybe you are doing the wrong job and should bang rocks for a living. read more

Dante and his brother arrived at revised time, quickly got to work and carefully and efficiently packed our all stuff on the truck. Moving day can be tense and anxiety provoking, but the movers did their jobs well and also were cheerful doing it. It really helped make the move very pleasant. They got it all done with no fuss, and in unpacking we found all our stuff none the worse for the move. Great service at a great price. They helped me move from a two bedroom apartment in midtown sac to a duplex in Orangevale. Everything went very smoothly and I was totally satisfied. The guys went above and beyond helping tetris things into their truck, and the little bit that didn't fit they helped me load into my hatchback. The only slight downside is that they were half an hour late showing up because their the previous move took longer than expected. But honestly it wasn't a big deal, and they stayed longer than planned helping me as well. Just something to be aware of when scheduling -- leave some extra time on both ends. I had a positive experience with Discount Movers. I was at my friends house when they delivered some furniture he had just purchased. There was a scuff on his bed (there in store) and they store said the buyer was aware. When it was delivered he remarked on the scuff and the movers told him it was there in the store. They even stated they were concerned about taking it and thought of calling him. Even though they didn't scuff it they cleaned it off. I thought that was above and beyond. I hired them to move my apartment a few weeks later. The crew was relatively new but did a good job. They carried some extremely heavy items up a flight of stairs. They wrapped my pictures in plastic, which my last movers didn't do because they said it took too long. I appreciate that they knew fragile items should be packed last. Hired Discount Movers almost a year later for a full move this time around, and again, not disappointed one bit! Both guys were very professional and friendly. Since my husband and I couldn't get the same days off to move our big furniture, I mostly needed help with that. However, they offered to take some boxes for me as well. They even helped me take apart/put back together 2 computer desks. They finished the job in 2 hours and 50 minutes which was fantastic considering last year it took my husband and I literally all day to move our big furniture.
