I cannot recommend Tip Top Movers enough. When I was calling moving companies to get quotes, I saw Tip Top's high ratings and decided to give them a call. Not only were they the highest rated, but they beat all the other quotes significantly. Moving day came, and Josh and one of his workers (I forget his name) were both amazing. They packaged my items carefully and packed the truck securely so nothing was damaged in transit. They even took down my mounted TV- something other moving companies wouldn't do. I left a previous review elsewhere, but they responded to it with absolute lies about the conditions of my home, saying there was cat and bird poop all over my furniture and much more. Their response was all lies, maligning me and making absolutely false statements about the condition of my home! My friends described my living area as 'Better Homes and Gardens' before I started dragging boxes out storage of my deceased family's goods to pack for moving. Do not trust these people! They were just lazy and compounded their offense with lies! I hired them a few years ago, describing the 22 years of collected storage and conditions and sending them pictures of a couple very large items - a lot of heavy work with old books and papers collecting dust. I adamantly told them they should come and look at it before committing, describing the worst concerns, the worst being mouse poop in the shed area and excess dust buildup in storage areas, but they insisted they were familiar with all conditions and charged higher than others by the hour to cover that. They showed up on moving day with a small feeble-looking old man, a small teen boy, and the lead dressed in a clean white office shirt as though he would be working a desk, not moving. They acted as though they were just supposed to move a couple clean furniture pieces from a show room. They then smelled ammonia I was cleaning the kitchen with, saw how much work it would be, acted as though they hadn't been told, and walked out on me, as though they were above any real work, leaving me without a mover when I only had a few days left to leave ... I had to pay to extend my occupancy! They were not even apologetic. These are awful people. read more

Moving sucks. Let's face it. It's not something one actually looks forward to. Fast forward to last week when I was moving from a two-story townhouse to a house I just purchased. Tip Top was always responsive, provided a reasonable quote and were on time! I had a ton of bags and boxes (note: they do not move open bags) and I have to say that I underestimated how long this would take, but they were constantly moving and would ask questions if there was any doubt as to where things should go. This review is a little late but I still wanted to share my appreciation. I needed assistance with a small move and Steve was very quick to respond with a quote. The quote he provided was exactly what I paid. No surprises or hidden fees. One thing I really appreciated was the fact my move was scheduled on a Friday, however, due to Sacramento being placed on lockdown, I was afraid my furniture wouldn't be able to be moved until weeks later. Luckily, Steve called me as soon as the news broke to inform me that he can get my furniture moved that afternoon before lockdown! Sure enough he was at my door with another gentleman a couple hours later and moved all my furniture before lockdown! After getting quotes from a bunch of different companies, we decided to use Tip Top Movers when moving from Sacramento to Stockton. I have zero complaints about how the move went. By the time they arrived we were completely packed up. They were extremely friendly, went over the details with us, then immediately got to work. They asked which items they should leave for us (such as out backpacks) and then started loading up everything else. They were EFFICIENT! You could tell this want their first rodeo. They had a system to get the boxes to the truck quickly and worked well as a three man team. They had our entire one bedroom, upstairs apartment packed up in maybe 40 minutes max. They were attentive to the condition of our furniture and wrapped things up, making sure even our rickety coffee table, that we should probably just throw away, survived the move in one piece. They could have easily taken their time on the drive but didn't, arriving only minutes after we did. They placed all our furniture where we wanted it. And unloaded the rest just as quick. Even with the one hour drive to and from Stockton, they finished just at their three hour minimum billing time. Upon unpacking, we were pleased to find nothing broken or missing (which is more than could be said about the last time we moved and just rented a uhaul on our own). Their help made the stress of moving on the day of practically nonexistent and I would use this company again without hesitation. Hands down, Tip-Top Movers are the best movers I have ever used. I have moved many times over the past 20 years and have had many experiences with movers. Some have been good and some have been terrible. I called around and got many quotes before choosing Tip Top. On the phone, Steve was honest about how long the move would take and how many men we would need. He also told me that his men wear masks during covid and take covid precautions, which I appreciated. I could really tell that he cares a lot about his employees wellbeing...several other moving companies told me that it's too just hot for their movers to wear masks (um, no thanks). They arrived on exactly on time with a very clean truck. They wrapped everything very carefully and boy are they strong. The crew worked really fast and efficiently and moved out of our four bedroom house into another four bedroom house in about four hours! It took about half the time I thought that it would. I've never had movers move so quickly in such an organized way. Nothing was scratched and they didn't leave until I was happy with where everything was placed. Steve even hooked up our washer and dryer for us. I would not hesitate to use Tip Top Movers again and we'll recommend them to all my friends. Matt was the boss of the move, and easy to communicate details and in-the-moment requests. (3-men is a critical savings, because 1-disassembled, stretchwraps, stages, and the other 2-men are always actively transferring) Hourly quote was fair to us and them, click doesn't start until arrival at origin. As good as it gets. The estimation process sucked (like most moving companies they simply ask how many bedrooms, and total number of boxes you estimate... Heck I have no idea how many boxes we would end up with!) so the job ended up taking twice as long as we thought. However, their prices still can't be beat for what you get. After an easy quote and booking process a few weeks earlier, moving day finally came. I had three wonder movers that were respectful, helpful & made this process painless. They used my first name frequently, which I found very professional and respectful. They also used great care when moving my items, which is always a fear when moving. Once we got to my new place they asked a lot of questions to ensure everything went to the right place & that I was satisfied. The entire process only took 2 1/2 hours to move a 1300 square foot home, which I was quite impressed by. Thank you so much for canceling on us at 7pm the night before our move. Had you not done that we would never have meet the amazing people at SC MOVERS!! SC MOVERS went ABOVE and BEYOND! EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS!! And they were HALF THE PRICE!! Now for those of you who are interested in the how's and why's of TIP TOP CANCELING ON US THE NIGHT BEFORE THE MOVE, here are the details: I found TT, on Yelp and based on the reviews and the quick correspondence I ended up booking them. I contacted them 17 days prior to our scheduled move date and TT requires a 14 day advance schedule and will charge you $150 should you cancel on the move day and $100 if you cancel the packing day within 14 days of scheduled days. In my initial contact through Yelp, I am very detailed regarding how much we have to move and pack. TT sent me two emails regarding the packing day I requested and the move day I requested, these were to serve as our "contracts" I have included screen shots of said "contracts," you are welcome to review them on your own. Fast forward to the schedule packing day. Upon arriving at my home, I walk them through the garage and into the home. After a very brief assessment, TT declares that they would not be able to make the move happen in one load it would definitely be two, thus doubling the initial quote! I'm now very worried as I don't have the budget to DOUBLE the QUOTE! So they begin packing. They haul packing materials, including boxes, etc into my home. I find it odd as I have stacks upon stacks of empty, flattened, professional moving boxes in my garage that I have just walked them past. They pack, I ask them to do the minimum hours and then stop given that they have now quoted me that the next days' move will cost double. AT THE END OF THEM PACKING, I try to hand TT my card with to pay, and he says, "hold on, I need to total it up." I respond with "what exactly is it you need to total?" He says "all the packing materials." EXCUSE ME? It was and ADDITIONAL $200 in BOXES!!! I asked why are you charging me for boxes when I had stacks upon stacks of them in my garage they I walked you right past?!?! Additionally the charges for these "packing material" are added to the contract by hand which means that was added AFTER I SIGNED THE CONTRACT! You will notice (in the photo of contract) that my initials are absent from the addition on the contract, proving the contract was modified afterwards. It was three hours after they finished packing, 7pm Friday 10-13-17, that I received an email saying they were declining to move us the following day due to my "outburst," saying I made them "uncomfortable". Well good, they should be uncomfortable! Perhaps people don't usually question TT on their QUESTIONABLE BUSINESS practices or perhaps TT is just sexist and didn't like a strong woman questioning them. The owner Steve was a few minutes early to give his bid and he provided us a fairly narrow price range to move our 3600 sq ft home into a much smaller home. We told him exactly what we were moving and he and his crew (he and three guys) had our home moved in 4.25 hours. Our new home is only a block away from the old home, so they didn't have a long distance to go. The guys were energetic and pleasant. Steve even apologized for showing up for the move 5 minutes after our scheduled start time (which was fine) and didn't start the clock until they were there. They didn't break anything, wrapped furniture w/ plastic or blankets as needed, and he quickly pointed out a small area of drywall in our old home where they had made a small dent - easily repaired w/ spackle.
