Place was empty. Drinks were awful. The drag performance was nonexistent. Why does a bar in Passaic charge a cover and bars in NYC don't?

First off, we couldn't even find the place. When we finally did, the front was completely blacked out and the security guard had on a bulletproof vest... sketchy. But we went in anyway. The first floor had a weird smell, so we went upstairs. The vibe was better up there, and the host was really nice. The decor was totally on theme, very Cowboy Carter. The brunch menu looked decent, but weirdly we couldn't order any appetizers just the brunch entrees. Kinda annoying, but whatever. We got the shrimp and grits, and the chicken and waffles (served on a skewer). Oh and we had to pay right when we ordered. Like... why? That was definitely a red flag. But surprisingly, the food was actually so good. As for drinks, I got something with rum and it was solid. My partner ordered the $30 mimosa pitcher, and it was mostly juice way too sweet. Definitely not worth it. The food is 11/10, but not my everyday go to spot!!! Try it out and let me know your thoughts

We visit this rooftop because my friend said it was a nice spot. I honestly feel it was overpriced for a Saturday night. $20 entry fee wasn't bad. Hookah was overprice $30 and it was hardly pulling any smoke. We got a bottle of Don Julio which was $345.

One section is garden inspired and the other section has more of a club feel. Our waiter was friendly and provided great recommendations. (Plus some spicy peppers for us to try, bit much for my palate) We ordered a lot of food. One of my friends really enjoyed the beef soup, the cucumber salad was pretty much sliced cucumbers, the yogurt dip was fresh and tasty, and the Bulgarian salad was a hit with great pieces of feta. The Deja Vu grilled platter for two was outstanding! So much delicious variety of meats! We added a skirt steak that my friend wanted, plus the pork and beef patties in Marsala sauce, and the white bean casserole. The bean and Marsala dishes were excellent! It was a struggle but we finished all of the meat! Definitely look forward to returning!

Absolutely disgusting behavior from their staff member. I've been to this location a few times and…read moreit's a cozy spot for a nice meal with friends. I went last night after a concert at the MetLife stadium near by. Once we were seated they brought out plates for the table and every one of the four plates given to us had charcoal dust on them, which isn't alarming at an establishment that serves hookah. We asked the waitress LAMIA if she can change the plates, Immediately she caught an attitude. She was adamant they weren't dirty but went to get us new plates as requested. The great thing about outside seating at this establishment is that the windows are wide open so you can see inside. We watched as LAMIA walked over to her coworkers to complain, stomp her foot and have an attitude driven tantrum while she filled them in on our request for new plates. For the rest of dinner we were greeted with the rudest attitude and treatment of distain from this server. She didn't want to speak with us. She didn't want to serve us. Thank you for runing our night LAMIA. She even brought the check over while we were mid eating our dinner, put it on the table and walked away without a word. Rushing us out without even acknowledgement. Paying $200 for a meal with that sort of treatment makes for an interesting end to our evening. We were raised with manners so we continued to be polite and thank her each time she dropped off an item. Makes me question if our food was tampered with because we even found a piece of hair in our meal. We all have long jet black hair down our backs so this hair definitely was not ours. But didn't feel comfortable to speak up due to the treatment we were already receiving. The service industry is for those who enjoy curating a space of fun and enjoyment for consumers. I would think twice about going to this establishment if you're looking for a good time.

I can't believe I've never written a review. So I have an absolute love/hate relationship with…read moreFiesta. I've visited soo many times and have ordered delivery. This place has so much potential but it is poorly managed. After COVID, they closed their parking lot for outdoor dining and now it is permanently part of their restaurant/lounge year-round (it's covered and insulated). Now everyone parks across the street at Home Depot (NOT walgreens) because street parking around there can be a struggle. I've never been towed and have parked at home depot every time (8+ times). I usually don't even bother looking for street parking I've never had to wait for a table. We always get seated right away because of how big the place is. There is plenty of space between tables. I've tried several things off their menu and I've absolutely loved everything. I personally find their food to be really good. I've had tacos, flautas, bowls, wings, churros, etc. I've liked everything I've tried. I always order a margarita and I've never not liked it. Sometimes it may be a bit watered down but I've had worse. One of my favorite parts - they have tajin! I love their large margaritas with the corona or different bottles but those are very pricey so I typically stick to the basic margarita with tajin on the rim. This is the perfect spot for latin music. The music is good even when they don't have a DJ. It's always a vibe and people tend to get up and dance no matter what day of the week it is. Everything sounds great so far right? Well, no. The service is HORRIBLE. The last time I went, for example, we waited literally 30minutes before being acknowledged by our waitress. I know - how stupid are we for waiting for that long? Granted it was cinco de mayo but come on... it was 6pm and not as busy as I've seen it before. We legit kept stopping people asking where our waitress was. We got asked about hookah before getting asked what we wanted to drink. The hookah...not good. It isn't smooth and it doesn't last long at all. The hookah girls smoke it for you when they arrive at the table to "test it out" idk. It's weird. You often see the waitresses and hookah girl at a table hanging out smoking hookah which adds to the shitty service. My waitress one time had not been around for a long time and then I spotted her chillin smoking hookah. After a certain time they require bottle service. What makes it more ridiculous is that their prices are forever changing. The later in the night the prices increase. For example, I had gone with a group of 12 one time. We ordered 3 bottles throughout the night and some people were ordering individual drinks. Our 3rd bottle was coming to an end so we were going to order a 4th. The waitress told us that the price went up and it wasn't just a $20 increase it was a significant amount - enough for us to say never mind because not everyone wanted to continue drinking. Then we got kicked out of our table for not wanting another bottle (it wasn't even busy in there). The waitress told us we could go to the patio if we didn't want to get a bottle. We switched to a table on the patio and for what? The waitress told us we still needed to buy a bottle there. So we left. The place is a hot mess and has so much potential it saddens me. I can't say I won't return because I can't help it at times but I honestly get angry every time because of the horrible service. SMH

If I absolutely had to choose a favorite, I'd give the edge to the GoodFella, but it's really more of a 1A/1B situation. You can't go wrong with either! For an appetizer, we split the mozzarella sticks, and they were fantastic--crispy, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a great starter. Perfect sized app for at least 2 people... and fresh dipping sauce served right on the plate. For dinner, we both ordered the Hawaiian Marinated Steak, and I truly can't say enough about it. It was incredible: packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, juicy, and finished with butter on top that was the perfect touch. It was one of those dishes where every bite makes you slow down and appreciate how good it is. It was definitely a lot of food for one person, but I skipped lunch, so I indulged. The steak was the star of the plate, but it paired perfectly with the loaded baked potato and green vegetable. A huge shoutout to our waitress, Iris, who was incredible throughout the meal. To top everything off, she brought us a taste of her favorite dessert. I'm not entirely sure of the official name, but I'd compare it to a warm bread pudding with homemade ice cream and house-made caramel sauce. Absolutely delicious and a perfect ending to an already excellent meal. Great drinks, great food, excellent service, and an overall memorable experience. The Ridge House is an easy 5 out of 5.
