Tiny's is your typical little-town, diner-style place. Friendly staff, reasonably priced food, variety on the menu, good specials, and always people in and about. The all you can eat fish fry special is worth it, as is the roast beef. The Tiny burger is an Ayer establishment. I've had wonderful turkey tips, and have overdried turkey tips. The seafood menu is so-so. The breakfast menu is worth it though with good-sized portions. It does get busy on weekend mornings. Yelp! Brought me here while traveling in the area. I had driven by earlier and, well to be honest was not sure about the place. Then I yelped for lunch and surprise - there was Tinys. So, reluctantly I went. All I can say is wow! Great food, great people. My clam roll was perfect. I had about a dozen perfectly fried clams on the traditional split roll. But as great as the clams were, the fries were amazing. Service was quick and pleasant. The decor was a real surprise. Parking might be a Challange during busy times. Seems like great local breakfast joint trying to be one of those gastro-brew-pubs with tons of fancy beers on tap. Was there on a weekday breakfast and clearly the main crowd was crews of pick-up driving retires, who from their bummer sticker practice right-wing politics. Not really gastro-pub types - But, once the waitstaff is done helping the big discussion "make America Great Again" crowd they found a minute to help me and the only other guy in the room who seemed to be trying to eat and get to a job. After, the order was taken, it came quickly. Good food, basic dinner breakfast. Stick to the ribs and tasty. Price for breakfast was fare to moderate. I have eaten at Tiny's a few times over the last couple summers. I live in TX but come to Ayer yearly to visit family. We always end up at Tiny's at some point. Like Steve K. mentioned...being from a large city in TX we don't have a whole of mom n pops or non-chain options. It's nice to be able to eat somewhere that is truly a diner. I was in a couple of weeks ago and I sure wish I could remember our waitresses name. She was awesome. My dad can be a little difficult with wait staff and she handled him like a pro. My 13 yr old son even commented that this was a 'lady who really enjoys her job'. Service was great. I ordered a lobster roll that rivaled anything I can get up in Maine. The specials all looked great and there is something for everyone on the menu. Great comfort food and good choice if you are on a budget :) read more

I'm traveling from Tennessee, and found this little friendly, family-owned restaurant on Yelp. I could not have been more pleased. The staff was super welcoming, and the food was delicious. I had the lobster roll to see what new England had to offer. Needless to say, it was delicious. The owner struck up a conversation with me, and told me of some of the history of the restaurant. The place is seat yourself but there's no sign at the front or back door indicating this. We stood around for a couple minutes before somebody noticed and told us to take any seat we like. Once we chose a table we were greeted pretty quickly. My drink was pretty strong (I got a tequila sunrise and it was only $6), but the food was not so ok. Fried mushroom appetizer was good but standard. My bbq pulled pork sandwich was alright but the accompanying onion rings were incredibly disappointing, as were my partners fries. Nothing wrong with frozen fries and onion rings but they were super bland. Some seasoning would have made both a lot better. My partners burger was also pretty small and bland. The waitress didn't introduce herself but she was nice. She did kind of seem in a hurry for us to leave however, and didn't ask us if we wanted dessert, instead just dropped off the check when I asked for a box after eating three bites. Didn't really seem to care that neither of us touched our sides. All in all not a *terrible* experience if you're super hungry but this place has been open for as long as I can remember and I expected something better. read more

Tiny's is your typical home-style diner. They specialize in comfort food and don't really stray with the imagination. The endless fish & chips is wonderful, as is their endless corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's Day. They have Keno, and a small bar. The service is hit or miss sometimes, but it's good for the most part. We felt like there was one waitress in particular that seemed to be grumpy on occasion, but the food and prices are good enough to come back. Tiny's is one of my favorite breakfast places in the Ayer, Groton, Littleton area. The food is always consistent and served timely hot off the grille by a friendly competent waitress. They have 2 seating and dining areas on weekends, so no matter what time you get there for breakfast, you can usually get a table. They also have full counter service. They actually know how to cook eggs "over medium", and I love their ham steaks! (now I'm getting hungry...) The prices are right and the portions are large. They keep the tables clean after guests leave and the waitress staff is always on top of their game. This is very typical diner food, but some of the best calorie laden diner food that reminds me of childhood comfort food. The onion rings are delicious, the fish special on Wednesdays is amazing, and the chicken burger is pretty awesome. I will say, I had to smother the fries in ketchup, and I had slightly overlooked peas, but overall, food is quality: even the coleslaw was great. Arrived at 1pm and waited 10 min for tall blonde 2 come by, adked 4 pinot grogio and glass of ice, got pinot grio and ice water, never saw her again until she brought a check 35 min later saying she was off at 2, no menus no refills, nothing, at 2:15, kelly who we are familiar with comes to take order snd i mention we have been waiting 1hr 15 min, she states " not my prob, get over it. Usual American fare, good portions and great prices, but cleanliness is not the best & I've sent my glasses, mugs & silverware back more than once. I take my sons here because they eat mass quantities of food & it's a bargain. I've been to Tiny's many times and the food is always delicious! The crew that works there is friendly and welcoming and like I said, the food is terrific! I had never had a grilled blueberry muffin before but now it's a breakfast favorite! The omelets are HUGE, you will be taking some home. I feel bad giving this one star. To be clear: the food was exactly what we were looking for (solid diner fare for a hearty breakfast) and the waitresses were friendly and attentive. My problem is with the manager's insane attempt to gouge customers for water. The story: my friends and I were biking across New England, and were having breakfast at Tiny's. As we do at every breakfast or lunch stop, we asked the waitress if we could get a pitcher of ice water to refill our bottles. Most of the time this is no problem. The waitress said that while she'd be happy to do it, she's not allowed because the manager has started selling bottled water. Fine. We figured we could just fill our bottles in the bathroom from the sink. The manager went so far as to stop me while I carried my bottle to the bathroom and tell me I couldn't fill it up there, and then try to sell me 16 oz. bottles of Poland Spring for $1.75 apiece! To repeat: I was not even allowed to fill a bottle in the bathroom sink, after eating a full meal. This was pure gouging, plain and simple, attempting to squeeze every last dime out of me, and I found it pretty offensive. I get a place that doesn't give free water to noncustomers (though many places, out of kindness do). I get it a place that doesn't bring out a free pitcher of ice water even to customers (though, again, most places do). But to tell us we can't use the bathroom sink to get water because you want to sell overpriced Poland Spring? That's beyond acceptable. Treat me like a customer, instead of someone you can milk for every penny. Until then, despite our very kind waitress (whom we tipped in full), I have to recommend against this place. read more

Met our friend there and it may have been the worst breakfast I have ever had. Overcooked black eggs with no seasoning at all, undercooked fries, hash brown patties that would be served at burger king. My daughter got a hamburger and it was cooked to death. My wife got seafood and it had a terrible smell. Our friend got an omelet and it was a brownish yellow color. Even the ice tea we had was old and smelled. Terrible terrible place. read more

Went here for dinner, and food was not very good. Waitresses were ok. Younger waitresses was really hustling, and seemed to be excellent, but she couldn't serve us since I had ordered a beer. Other waitresses were just ok, but acceptable. I ordered a fishermans platter which was horrible. It is rare that I leave anything on my plate, but I left half of it behind. Scallops and clams tasted old, or freezer burned. Not sure what was wrong with it. Wife had deep fried haddock which was not good either. Dry, and not a good taste. I can't comment on the other meals, so maybe they are better. Price was too high for what we got. read more

Went there last Saturday thinking I wanted to try some different breakfast places around me so I make the trip, come to find out they stop serving breakfast at 11am? No where on there menu online does it say this..so I get there at noon. I mean is breakfast that far outta the question at noon on a weekend? But apparently I can order an omelet past 11??..After we sit down and overhear someone else ask if breakfast is being served and the waitress say no it stopped at 11, I was about to just leave. But I had already ordered a milk ( thinking I'm getting breakfast). I decide to stay because other breakfast places are getting ready to close by this point so I'm stuck. I look over the menu and decide I'm just getting a BLT with onion rings. I order and I get a bowl full of packaged saltine crackers with a small plastic cup of spreadable cheese. Honestly? I mean atleast at the 99 they give your legit crackers... About 20-25 minutes later my BLT comes out. What can I say? It was a BLT on two slices of toasted bread. Nothing special..could have saved myself 7$ and made one at home. I mean if the bread they served it on was a fresh baked bread or something large or oversized they could do a BLT up nice. But not this place. So I eat my BLT with generic soggy onion rings and down my milk...pay the bill and leave. Needless to say won't be coming back, gave it a shot atleast.. read more

Tiny's is the true diner experience, lotto tickets at every table, placemats with local ads, big plastic Coke cups for water, full of locals and great diner food. Bonus, they have a bar! The Reuben was fantastic, super juicy with really delicious sauerkraut! Onion rings were hot and fresh, no frozen shortcuts here. My lunch companion got the Canadian Bacon burger, one of several huge burgers, made fresh to order. I'm looking forward to coming back to try breakfast! read more
