Big mistake. Could smell the burned, old oil off the fried clams as she set them on the table. Lots of flies at my corner table. Tiny's has been a reliable favorite for years. We take out or eat there nearly once a week. About 6 months ago the food significantly changed. The fish sandwiches are about 1/3 the size they used to be; seems the buns have shrunk too and today, the tartar sauce was majorly watered down. Like heavy cream consistency. Sadly, I am not confident in recommending Tiny's having given the benefit of the doubt for the past half year or so. Went here for breakfast the other day to find out breakfast stopped being served at 11 am on a Saturday.......Although my boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed (since we had gotten there just past 11) we decided to stay and try out the lunch menu. The menu has no indication of breakfast not being served all day nor does their website list it, as we checked before we went. To say we were not impressed would be an understatement. As a "bread" option tables are given saltines with a side of Cheese Wiz type cheese. Myself being a vegetarian, I ordered the veggie burger and my boyfriend ordered a BLT. When we got our meals the BLT came on your standard everyday Wonder white bread and I was accidentally served a chicken burger with bacon. Not a big deal, I sent it back and waited for what I had actually ordered. When my burger finally came out it appeared to be your typical Morning Star pre-frozen burger. No cheese and served with a slice of tomato and lettuce. Not to mention the plates the meals are served on are so small it's hard to separate your food. Overall, we probably won't be returning anytime soon. The staff were nice but the food could use an upgrade. read more

Stopped in for the first time for breakfast and was very disappointed. Very small breakfast menu, with not many options. The Orange Juice was not real OJ. Tasted like Concentrate. The most disappointing thing was the homefries. Besides not being included in any meal, they where also fries. We where talking with the waitress about homefries vs hashbrowns and she never mentioned the homefries where french fries. Huge disappointment. read more

It breaks my heart that I will no longer go to my favorite place. They changed so many items. Everything was perfect. It was even a blast going when it was all you can eat certain days of the week but they took that away. They had the best seafood. Not anymore. Great spaghetti and sauce. Why the heck did they change it. It's awful now. Coleslaw was the best. Now it's filled with condiments and soupy. Maybe the third generations taking over. To make it worse, my friends don't go there anymore for the same reasons. And do NOT order the fried clams. They taste and look like clams you'd bring home for the next day. I've driven by a few times it never thought to stop. Finally, we stopped in. I was going to order breakfast, but I saw that they had chicken croquettes which I love. Ok they were awesome. Two big croqs served with 2 sides and gravy. Gotta have gravy. I had coleslaw and potato salad which tasted like grandma brought it to the summer BBQ. Grabbed a chicken stir fry with extra veggies and no rice. I must say that was a huge mistake. The dish was unedible. I knew the quality wasnt going to be the best, but I couldn't even try and finish the food. The sauce was overpowering and disgusting. All I could taste was sweet teriyaki sauce. I had to wipe down the food with napkins and that still didn't save the dish. The menu was really poorly designed. The menu was riddled with ads locally and scattered all over the menu. It was a huge red flag seeing that. Are they that strapped for cash? Same goes for the placemats. The service was atleast good. Our server took care of us really well so I cant give it a 1 star, but I cant say I'll be back. read more

The french toast was good but I did have to scrape off some of the slathered butter on it -- yes, a bit too much. Portions are not huge and everything had a bit of a McDonald's feel to it which is odd for what you would expect to be more home style. I've been eating here since I moved here 3 years ago. I generally figured it's typical diner food, usually on the "better" side. My favorite is the turkey club, the meatloaf is good, the portions are large and I usually take at least half home. Oh, and I love their onion rings! I like the the onions are still a bit crispy and very flavorful. Then I went in last week. I was heading home from a procedure at the hospital and needed food. I looked at the specials and was intrigued by the Osso Bucco. That's one of my favorite meals. I've made it several times, it's time consuming and difficult to get JUST right and I'm super picky. I couldn't imagine that it would be good, but why not? OMG! It was SO good and a huge portion. I ate until I thought they'd roll me to the car. I brought the rest home and cut it into 3 generous portions and had 2 bones for the dogs! Next time I'll order 2 to-go and freeze the portions so I can spoil myself occasionally. read more

This is hit-or-miss. Breakfast is great but dinner is only adequate. In early July we went there and my husband hit a winner (lobster mac-and-cheese) and I got a bomb (I ordered grilled cheese but instead received toasted white bread w the Kraft precut American slices still unmelted). For me, the big draw is the cheese and crackers, which remind me of my childhood and I DEVOUR them. Tiny's does a lot of business so many people must be finding food they enjoy--or perhaps it's their super-convenient location. We came on a recommendation from a local friend and I am so glad we did. The service was friendly and personable, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food... oh the food. Saltines and cheese for spreading was the appetizer. I almost filled up on it! The grilled Reuben was so good I barely came up for air. I got gravy on my fries and the only reason I didn't lick the plate is because I was so full I could barely move. I got a coffee and a water and the water was ice-cold while the coffee was fresh and piping hot. We got dessert (pumpkin pie) to go because we didn't want to miss out on it. Seems like great local breakfast joint trying to be one of those gastro-brew-pubs with tons of fancy beers on tap. Was there on a weekday breakfast and clearly the main crowd was crews of pick-up driving retires, who from their bummer sticker practice right-wing politics. Not really gastro-pub types - But, once the waitstaff is done helping the big discussion "make America Great Again" crowd they found a minute to help me and the only other guy in the room who seemed to be trying to eat and get to a job. Quintessential New England. - Having lived the last couple years in Texas, it's places like this that really make me appreciate that I'm not in Texas anymore. Mom-n-pop-style places like this simply don't exist in the cultural wasteland that is the metroplex in Texas. - Tiny's is a no-frills, diner-ish, recently-remodled, good homestyle food restaurant. There's live Keno on the TV screens. Some of the specials on the wall are hand-printed on sheets of paper. The place has the air of a local comfort food establishment. It was clear to see that some of the patrons have been coming here for awhile. It's the kind of place every New England town has (or should have). - "Tiny" might refer to the parking lot, which was packed when we arrived. But there's a ton of seating inside; it looks to me that they expanded some years ago into the back room. There's ample seating throughout - bar seats, seats along the window, a 4-top in the corner. Kitchy. The place was recently remodeled; the paint on the ceilings and wall looked new and the place looked very clean. No dirt or musty old art hanging around. It has been cleaned up, I imagine. - I wasn't expecting much on the food. The menu looked good though - your typical diner-y fare; club sandwiches, some fried seafood, italian dishes, oddball specials throughout the week. We had lobster rolls and I got a special - steak and cheese quesedilla (I asked the waitress what she thought about it first "It's soooo good" - sold!). Got some wine too (why not?) which was excellent. My dinner really hit the spot - she didn't steer me wrong! We all loved our dinners and loved the vibe of the place. Checked this place out for breakfast the other day and was downright pleased. I had the bacon, egg, and cheese on an english muffin, a hashbrown, and a grilled blueberry muffin. The breakfast sammich was great. Delicious bacon, melty cheese, a huge egg, and I believe they grilled the english muffin, which gave it a great, crispy crunch. The hashbrown was just like one you'd find at McDonald's-- and many of you may not like this, but frankly I think they're delicious. And the waitress told me beforehand, so I knew what to expect. I LIKE EM, ALL RIGHT!? The blueberry muffin was the weakest part of the meal. Pretty dry. I ate through it, however, and finished the meal because I'm a friggin' competitor. Great atmosphere here, too. Tons of locals pumping their dough into the scratch ticket vending machine. Guys sitting at the bar talking about last night at the bar (yeah that's right). I'm traveling from Tennessee, and found this little friendly, family-owned restaurant on Yelp. I could not have been more pleased. The staff was super welcoming, and the food was delicious. I had the lobster roll to see what new England had to offer. Needless to say, it was delicious. The owner struck up a conversation with me, and told me of some of the history of the restaurant. Wednesday nights, ALL YOU CAN EAT FRIED HADDOCK for $9.99!!!! It's so good. The waitstaff is friendly and the food is pretty good. It can be hit or miss with the Steamed Clams. One night I went and they were fantastic, another night they seemed like they were covered in mud.... Its not a fancy place by any means but if you're on a tight budget and want basic food it's the place to go. I've tried most of their fried seafood and their burgers are awesome!
