Finally came back after about a year. Definitely should've came back sooner! They made a couple of changes, I believe the buffet is now only on the weekends. One thing that hasn't changed is the friendly staff. Things were a little slow in the beginning because there was only 1 server for the whole restaurant (maybe only 4-5 parties but 1 was a big party). However, midway through, the server had more help and things were picking up. I forgot to mention in my other review that the restaurant is quite small and holds up to 62. But the place is still so beautifully decorated and cute. They even had live music on Friday night. The food was overall delicious. I highly recommend the squid ink pansit if it's available! Very good flavors and the pansit is not too wet. Other highlights were the beef pares and tuna/grilled pork belly kilawin.

Timog is a beautiful Filipino restaurant located inside Lion Market. The menu is easy to order from, and the food was authentic and delicious! Dishes were a good size so that we had leftovers to take home. Caleb, our solo server, took great care of us. I'd go again to try the buffet only on Sundays.

Located in a predominantly Asian shopping plaza, catering to mostly Chinese and Vietnamese. Timog adds an element of diversity to the area. The ambiance is simple but inviting. The staff are friendly and attentive. The variety of dishes are flavorful and very comparable to authentic home-cooked styles The dessert menu is outstanding, offering a great variety of sweet treats to end your meal on a high note!

Filipino food with a modern twist! This spot is located inside the Lion Market Shopping Center, and growing up in the area, I never even knew! It was a nice hidden discovery, and the inside surprised me even more. I looooved the decor!  Food was delicious and very flavorful, reminding me of home cooking. I will be honest, my adobo was a little oilier than I was used to, but maybe I just have a weak stomach lol. I definitely want to come back to try their other dishes though, it was hard not to order everything on the menu during our visit haha.  They also have an AYCE Brunch Buffet on Sundays from 11am-3pm and Live Music on Friday/Saturday nights (think laid back, acoustic vibes) What we ordered: * Adobo (Pork & Chicken w/ Egg) * BBQ Pork * Pares ni Enteng * Garlic Rice * Tamarindo Tango

Went on a Sunday night at 6 with my boyfriend and there was inly one other party. We were and seated served qucikly all by one server. The ambiance is very aesthetic and inviting. The lighting is not too bright. We ordered the lechon kawali and it was warm and skin was crunchy. It was served with a mix of meat and fat. The pork sisig was just average, nothing too special in my opinion. We want to go back to go back to try their Sunday lunch buffet.

Food here was delicious. Customer service was fast and helpful when I had questions while ordering. Their halo halo is good for 2-3 people. Decor and ambiance is nice as well. I will definitely come back and try the palabok.

Came in on a Friday night and there was live music. We were greeted and seated fairly quickly. I wish I could give this place more stars. Maybe I just had high hopes for their unique menu items. For 3 items and a side of rice our total was roughly $90. We got the karekare, palabok, and bangus sisig. The karekare was a large crispy patta pork hock that had the sauce poured over it when they brought it to the table. The flavor was bland, and I felt like it needed salt. I did however enjoy the crispiness of the pork. But the sauce just didn't cut it for me. The palabok also had the same aesthetic. They deep fried the noodles to make it crispy and pour the sauce over top and mix everything for you table side. Again the flavor there was also lacking, not sure if it needed more anatto or tinapa flavor, but it fell short for me as well. The dish that I did thoroughly enjoy was the bangus sisig. Perfect amount of salt, tang, and creaminess. It was missing jalapeños for me, but since the rest of the flavor was there, I over looked it. I'd definitely order this again.

The restaurant is located inside an Asian grocery complex. We've always been curious about the hype, especially since we often see it featured on reels. As a Filipina who loves to eat and takes pride in Filipino cuisine, I have to be honest -- I found the experience a bit underwhelming. Of all the dishes we tried, the palabok stood out as our favorite and would be the only reason we'd consider coming back. Unfortunately, everything else we ordered felt subpar and lacked that "wow" factor, especially considering the price point. The quality just didn't match the cost. What really threw me off was the wait time. While a 30-40 minute wait would've been understandable, we ended up waiting nearly an hour after placing our order, which was definitely a letdown. Would I come back? Yes, but mostly for the palabok. Is it a place I'll crave or go out of my way to revisit? Honestly, probably not. Place is clean and nicely decorated for sure; bathrooms were spotless.

Wow, another filipino restaurant here at the east bay/tri city area. Timog is located inside Lion supermarket In Cedar ave in Newark. It is kinda newish resto with a relaxing modern filipino ambience. Area size is okay and not so big. We did walked in today and ordered some Crispy Palabok,Lumpiang gulay and buko loco Neil our server is amazing with excellent customer service

First time trying this spot. The ambiance is amazing. I love the decor and mural wall. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. We were fortunate to meet the owner they are very nice and even gave us suggestions on what foods to try. We tried the crispy tofu sisig and it was delicious! I love how the crispy palabok was so creamy. I can't wait to come back and try their buffet on Sundays.

Amazing Filipino dishes-this was my first time eating here and it definitely delivered. The interior is clean, welcoming, and has a really dope vibe. I got the Bicol express and my girl got the pork Sisig both were great. Also ordered the Crispy Palabok on the side to share and it didn't disappoint. Everything is made fresh and not oily at all. Our server, Caleb, was on point-super knowledgeable, well-spoken, and friendly, and he represented the spot perfectly. If you're looking for clean, flavorful Pinoy food, don't sleep

This place was featured on IG so we decided to try it. The place is decorated nice and clean. Their sign outside threw us off. It took is a little while to figure out where they are. They could post the sign in a more visible area. We were greeted by a nice waitress and seated us quickly! They have a good variety of filipino food selection. We ordered daing na bangus and crispy palabok which were both good! They also have a buffet on the weekends. The place was not busy but our food took a long time to come out. I will come back and see if service has improved!

First time trying this spot! From the time we came in, we knew we were in for a treat. The whole experience was fantastic, from the delectable cuisine to the attentive service (Thank you, Francheska!) to the quaint setting. Can't wait to go back.

    Do you offer catering services?

Yes we can depending on the location.

As of today 12/26/25, do they continue to offer weekend buffets? I don’t see the info on the website.

Yes only on Sundays, 11am-3pm. Reservations are only from 11am-1130am then walk-ins only thereafter.

Hi there, how do we make Reservations on line?

Hi, I think you can just call them to make a reservation. I do not think they have a system set up for online reservations. I hope this helps.

Do u take reservations on the weekend?

Yes we do. However during. Buffet hours we only take reservations between 11am to 1130am. It’s all walk in after that period.

Hi. Is there msg in the food? Thank you.

We do not put msg or magic sarap on any of our dishes.

Is the buffet option still available today?

Buffet is only served on the Saturdays and Sundays, 11am-3pm.

I ordered a Lanzhou Beef noodle soup and Chili Oil noodle. The broth in the Lanzhou noodle was very savory and perfectly seasoned. They also respected my comment for mild spicy, and it was one of the only times I drank almost all the soup since I did not taste artificial powders or too much white pepper. The Chili Oil noodle was also ordered with mild spice, and the noodles were so chewy and perfect, I can't wait to come back here already! We just wished the chili oil noodle had more meats, since there were like only a 2 or 3 slices of beef. While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. Great food here and definitely will be back to try more of the other menu items for the full experience.

I tried the Beef Tallow Spicy Sichuan one and It was really well done. They also have lobsters and other seafood upon request, and they were really well done too for the price. The sauce bar is good. It has your typical Soy Sauce, Zhejiang Vinegar, Garlic, etc. If they added a bit more different varieties that would be great, like Ponzu or Hong Kong Soy Sauce. Of the times I came here, I never really needed to order more from the original order. They always seem to put out just enough. The most important thing for me though, was that their ingredients were really good. In most places that I eat, I typically get a bit bogged down/bloated or I might get some brain fog after. After eating here, I did not get that feeling at all and I feel much more refreshed/satisfied than usual. I know this is a personal thing, but that means a lot to me. Of the things to improve upon, I think the menu does need to be a bit more clear. There is a feeling that only the side food bar is unlimited, but the rest are not. The breakfast menu does not seem very clear, as I cannot tell if this is a one time serving or if it is AYCE as well. The rear area with the self-serving also is a bit confusing. Perhaps some more frills to go with it would improve the overall experience. The other reviews stated that the service was not very good; this may have been the case before but the times I been there the wait staff has been very attentive so maybe they have been listening. Jack's Restaurant tends to eat up a lot of the attention, but this little nook in New Park is sorely needed as the mall is pretty dead inside. I will definitely come back just because I don't feel bloated after eating. Please keep up the good work and hopefully what I wrote was able to help you in your business. Thanks! 我一定會再來。謝謝!
