We tried their pork sisig, kare kare volcano, bbq chicken, and the crispy palabok. Finally came back after about a year. Definitely should've came back sooner! They made a couple of changes, I believe the buffet is now only on the weekends. One thing that hasn't changed is the friendly staff. Things were a little slow in the beginning because there was only 1 server for the whole restaurant (maybe only 4-5 parties but 1 was a big party). However, midway through, the server had more help and things were picking up. I forgot to mention in my other review that the restaurant is quite small and holds up to 62. But the place is still so beautifully decorated and cute. They even had live music on Friday night. The food was overall delicious. I highly recommend the squid ink pansit if it's available! Went on a Sunday night at 6 with my boyfriend and there was inly one other party. We were and seated served qucikly all by one server. The ambiance is very aesthetic and inviting. LENT 2026: SIXTH FRIDAY - FRIED BANGUS CON ENSALADA On the last Friday of March I came here for lunch. Using my GPS I had difficulty finding this place. After parking I went around the building and entered a hallway. I was then able to find Timog. During this Lent season Timog was one of the places I wanted to eat on Fridays. The reason is the fried bangus with salad. One thing I noticed in Filipino cuisines fried fish are sometimes served with a salad, which consists chopped tomatoes and onions. The one ingredient that was unique with this salad includes cucumber. I asked my server if I should get the steamed rice or garlic rice with the fried bangus. My server recommended garlic rice. At Timog the meat of the bangus is moist. Most of the bangus I've eaten at Filipino eateries tend to be dry and jerky. Having the meat of the bangus moists is a good sign. Another exceptional quality of the bangus at Timog is the crispy skin. I love crispy skin on a fish whether the fish is grilled or deep-fried. Of course you can't have bangus without the fatty belly, which I was happy to eat. At Timgo there is one negative about the bangus it was bland. I didn't taste any salt or seasoning on the bangus. The garlic rice added flavor to the bangus. I did like the salad on top of the bangus. I'm glad I came to Timog during Lent Friday to eat the fried bangus with salad. read more

Came in on a Friday night and there was live music. We were greeted and seated fairly quickly. I wish I could give this place more stars. Maybe I just had high hopes for their unique menu items. For 3 items and a side of rice our total was roughly $90. We got the karekare, palabok, and bangus sisig. The karekare was a large crispy patta pork hock that had the sauce poured over it when they brought it to the table. The flavor was bland, and I felt like it needed salt. I did however enjoy the crispiness of the pork. But the sauce just didn't cut it for me. The palabok also had the same aesthetic. They deep fried the noodles to make it crispy and pour the sauce over top and mix everything for you table side. Again the flavor there was also lacking, not sure if it needed more anatto or tinapa flavor, but it fell short for me as well. The dish that I did thoroughly enjoy was the bangus sisig. The restaurant is located inside an Asian grocery complex. We've always been curious about the hype, especially since we often see it featured on reels. As a Filipina who loves to eat and takes pride in Filipino cuisine, I have to be honest -- I found the experience a bit underwhelming. Of all the dishes we tried, the palabok stood out as our favorite and would be the only reason we'd consider coming back. Unfortunately, everything else we ordered felt subpar and lacked that "wow" factor, especially considering the price point. The quality just didn't match the cost. What really threw me off was the wait time. While a 30-40 minute wait would've been understandable, we ended up waiting nearly an hour after placing our order, which was definitely a letdown. Would I come back? Yes, but mostly for the palabok. Is it a place I'll crave or go out of my way to revisit? Honestly, probably not. Came to this restaurant last night for good food and live music. The service was great, staff are attentive, performers were good. The ambiance was great, location wise, not the best place, but we were there primarily for the food. We ordered the lomi- the soup was runny, it was mostly noodles, you can count the numbers of vegetables and fish ball, the worst part was it had no flavor. It felt like I sipping water. We also ordered the squid- it was over cooked, the meat was tough, for the price, it wasn't worth it. Final order was the tuna pork kilawin, the portion was very small, there was barely any tuna, the pork slices was 5mm thick. Paid $89.00, left disappointed and still felt hungry. This place was featured on IG so we decided to try it. The place is decorated nice and clean. Their sign outside threw us off. It took is a little while to figure out where they are. My husband and I went to Timog for the first time for lunch today at around 11:50am. We were the only customers there at the time. First impression as we entered the restaurant was how clean and nicely decorated it was. Walls had paintings, more like sketches to me, of famous parts of the Philippines. I think the sketches were of Quiapo, Manila, and it looked like the University of Santo Tomas to me. I graduated at UST in the early 80s. We were seated by a lovely, friendly young lady who also took our order of dinuguan, beef caldereta, steamed rice, sago gulaman, and melon fresca. We enjoyed the food and drinks which were delicious. Some of the best Filipino food we've had in a while. My husband normally asks for patis (fish sauce) to enhance the entree flavors but he didn't this time. He said the food was perfectly seasoned for him, same with me. Portions were large and we brought them home for dinner. We will definitely return to Timog to try other dishes in the future and try their buffet, which is on Sundays. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I have been wanting to try this place out since I saw the posts on IG. I went here with a friend after our hike. The restaurant is inside the Lions Supermarket area. The restaurant is a good size, with nice decor and beautiful murals on the walls. There was only 1 server but they were as efficient as possible. Food came out in a timely manner, although I was kind of upset to find out they only do AYCE on the weekends now. It is kinda pricey when buying a la carte but I thought the food was good for the most part. Here is what we had: Tapsilog: beef tapa, garlic fried rice, egg, and a side bowl of pork sinigang to go with the rice - tapa is usually too hard and dry but theirs had a good taste was was easy to chew. Longsilog: longanisa, garlic fried rice, egg, and pork sinigang - it is hard to go wrong with this, it was good nothing to be wowed over Pork sisig: I thought this was too sweet, it could have used a little bit more tanginess and maybe an egg on top...that would have been perfect Ginataang sitaw at kalabasa: tender shrimp, green beans, and squash simmered in rich coconut milk, garnished with fresh green onions - this I really liked. First time coming on a Sunday for the brunch. Didn't know what to expect since reviews were mixed with them being a new place and all. I can say the greeting when we first walked up was very welcoming, place it very clean and well organized. What I enjoyed- garlic rice, BBQ chicken, pancit, limpia, kare kare and adobo. Things I would have changed- temperature of the food, for the price you pay you understand it's buffet style but food was barely like warm, pork belly fat was like soft and mushy not very appetizing and that's what I really came for. They brought us a water container and we filled our glasses, they took it and we were under the impression they were just refilling it but I think they gave it to another table. I ended up finishing my water in the middle of my meal and stayed thirsty until we left. I did get to try bilo bilo for the first time and it was quite yummy. All right this is my review for Timog catering services. all in all it was very, very good. I ordered the grilled chicken which was cooked perfectly with the right amount of char and the flavor was great. The marinade was wonderful. I also ordered Kaldareta which was absolutely fantastic full of meat just packed with meat. The gravy was wonderful and it had some carrots and it, was wonderful. I also ordered a Lechon, which was very beautiful size. They look very close to her back home Filipino Lechon, in the country that is.it was very good. The only thing is that I wish you would've let it set for the whole time that it was supposed to rest before we took it home because the skin would've been a lot more crispier. Regardless of a customer is sitting there waiting for their catering food. Make an appointment for you guys to just make the customer wait and let the lechon rest like it supposed to. They size the cooking process. The rest and process is good but we took it home and I'm sure we cut it a little bit too early before it rested, but it still was that very good product which was awesome that was almost my favorite thing in the whole order. Overall, we give it a four star rating. My family was very pleased and the results were wonderful. Overall, we will give it four stars. One of the things that my husband and I are always missing is Filipino food as our area has very limited options so we were excited when we were in Fremont by chance and a quick Yelp search led us to Timog. Heads up - they're located inside the building with the supermarket, not visible from the outside. Since they're in a plaza, parking is abundant and free. The inside is beautiful - not the aesthetic I'd think of, but it's beautiful and makes for a little too fancy yet casual meal. Our server was friendly - we were the only table dining inside on a Wednesday night so we got full service and no delays. We opted for their lumpia as the starter and then got the bangus sisig and pork sisig to share with 2 orders of garlic rice. The food smelled amazing and the portions were decent, especially the garlic rice for $2/bowl. They also had banana ketchup available. Overall, we left with a full stomach and some leftovers for the next day. You will need to go inside the Lions shopping area and go all the way at the back to find this hidden gem. Great selection of dishes to choose from, it is food place to take family or friends since it is family style sharing of food. Timog is beautiful inside! Reminded me of Vigan. However, The service was okay, as they were in their soft opening phase. Didn't like how our dirty plates piled up on our small table space, and how waters weren't being filled regularly by the waitress. The lunch buffet honestly was disappointing as there was a hair in the pancit which turned off many guests including my mom who is already picky and scared to eat out as it is, and even my stepdad who's German and barely eats Asian cuisine. The entrees served were so basic too. Eggs longisa, etc... for the price we paid it wasn't worth it! I can make breakfast just as good or even better. Went to dine out at Timog after seeing it on Yelp and reading about how nice it was inside. Unfortunately we weren't able to stay but got a fairly good sampling of what the restaurant has to offer: Pork bbq, lumpia, lechon sinigang, ginataang. The sinigang was interesting- I want to say they do it from scratch versus the usual Knorr or Mama Sita mix. All in all not bad, I'm sure waiting to eat at home versus at the restaurant makes a difference, but I'd be open to coming back! read more

I was truly excited to have a Filipino restaurant nearby. We ended up going around 8pm on a Friday and it was empty. They're a new restaurant and look to be open - but when everything else was closed around them, it felt like we were in the wrong place. The service was good (albeit a little slow for an empty restaurant). We had to ask for things or initiate the connection as opposed to being attentive and/or watching your table to see if you can help. There's wasn't anything wrong. But the food also didn't blow me away. We tried the lumpia, pancit, adobo and other dishes. I'd return for the Sitaw and Kalabasa and maybe the garlic rice but the thing I'd pass on was the Pancit bihon canton. It was not very good. They were really happy for feedback the staff was kind and jovial but I'm there for the food. I just wish it had more depth. I'll give it a second shot for other things. This new Filipino restaurant opened up in same complex as Lions Market and we were hyped to check it out from all the reels people keep sending me. I heard this place offered breakfast buffets and a la carte dinners. We went for dinner on a Sunday. It was busy but we were seated right away. The decor was modern, very "IG friendly", but the tables and chairs were too close together so we had to wiggle ourselves to our seats trying not to hit people around us. Although we were seated right away, the waitress didn't take our orders until we kept staring at her after a lot of time has passed. She apologized and thought our orders were already taken, and proceeded to take our orders. Not sure why she thought that because we still had the menus with us. It was a full house that night. Luckily the ceilings were tall so the sound wasn't too bad even with how many people were packed in such a small space. We waited for a while for our food. We looked around and we saw people before us also waiting. Seems like everyone is waiting a while. After some time, our food finally starts coming in. We ordered lechon kawali, adobong chicken/pork, beef kaldereta, garlic rice, and crispy palabok. The food was good until the crispy palabok which was the last dish to arrive. It was way too salty for my taste and way too fishy. We were going to order desserts but we couldn't get a glimpse of the waitress so we said screw it and stood up to pay for our meal. With this experience I would give this place a higher rating but unfortunately, my friend had a bad allergic reaction to the food. He is allergic to shrimp and he didn't eat palabok and we had to drive him home quick to get his medicine. There must've been some cross contamination that went on in the kitchen or cooking utensils or something. Anyway, don't think we will be coming back. Before watching a movie, my friends and I decided to stop by to this Filipino spot that just soft opened and had great reviews on yelp so far. It was so delicious! Very welcoming from the moment we walked in--not just the atmosphere, but the entire crew. The place was clean, well-organized, and had a cozy vibe. Staff was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. One thing to note: the seating layout could use some tweaking. The waitress had to squeeze between tables and chairs just to serve, which meant some customers had to move or adjust their seats. While we didn't mind, not everyone may be aware or as courteous. Food presentation was great. The dishes looked inviting, but the taste was just okay. HALO HALO CLASSIC - don't be fooled by the name classic. It's a special mixture of our favorite halo halo. Ingredients are fresh and never frozen. They prepare it once you order it and it's not readily available in the fridge like other places. I was never a fan of beans in my halo halo and requested not to have any on mine. Request granted! Timog is a cool spot for dinner. The ambiance is nice, but if you show up one day during lunch or dinner time and there's already 2-3 other groups seated, prepare yourself to wait. My fiance and I have been going here at least once a month since they opened as we love supporting small businesses. We typically only order the crispy palabok and the Shanghai lumpia with maybe one other dish to try as majority of the other dishes are alright. We always show up for dinner right at 5pm when they open to guarantee service. What I mean is there's only one server. There has only been one server for as long as I can remember. Super cool kid and great composure, but when he's busy taking orders, running the food out, or even making their ginormous halo halo to order, you'll be waiting for awhile. When this happens, we're patient with him. We know it's not his fault, but it's surprising how Timog has not hired another server for support. Another issue we've had in the past was we showed up at 7:20pm for a late dinner one night. Timog is opened until 8pm, but we were turned away immediately and informed by who we think is the owner that the kitchen closes at 7:30pm, therefore, they could not seat/serve us. So hopefully you don't mind being up close and personal with strangers around you. Not enough room for wheelchairs to move around. And only 1 restroom for the whole restaurant. It was packed when we went. We asked to sit at the bar so we didn't have to wait for a table plus didn't want to be so close to people. Just keep in mind the bar top is super high but at least you don't have to bend down to eat!
