Pocha K in Newark is a hidden gem for Korean Food and Fun! Instead of going to Gen's Korean BBQ, we decided to celebrate my son's graduation at Pocha K--and we're so glad we did! When we arrived, the restaurant was still closed, but they opened just a few minutes later. Since it was a weekday, we had the whole place to ourselves for nearly an hour. We took the chance to snap some photos in the adorable corner on the right side of the restaurant, decorated with flowers, light-up angel wings, and a fun photo booth backdrop. We were warmly welcomed by Yuri, who was incredibly sweet and accommodating. When she found out we were celebrating a graduation, she surprised us with complimentary drinks--three canned sodas and a bottle of soju. Such a thoughtful gesture! Ordering was a breeze with the tablet on our table. We tried a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious and reasonably priced. I asked about the karaoke room, and since it was a quiet day, Yuri generously offered it to us free of charge for an hour (normally it's $100/hour on busy days, not consumable). The room was huge, the sound system was great, and they had a solid selection of up-to-date songs. It was the perfect way to cap off our celebration. I'll definitely be coming back--great food, great service, and a fun vibe all around! Tip: I prefer the Boneless Chicken with the Soy Garlic Sauce on the side so the chicken stays crispy longer. Also the Beef Bulgogi is perfectly seasoned and not too sweet, just the way I like it.
Okay, so I was hosted twice at this location in their karaoke room! I'm super grateful for the experience and the opportunities to celebrate both mines and my husband's bdays here this year. The main restaurant is decorated nicely, and gives off a slight club vibe, while the karaoke room is just okay. Walls are black and the lighting is decent. I loved when we dimmed the lighting as it made it feel just like the outside of the room, and a club lounge theme. Service is just okay. The communication is a little difficult as both times the waiter I had didn't speak good English. The food is also a little slow to come out. Prices are very expensive, because portion sizes are small. You have to spend more than $150 to feel full at this place. The food tastes okay, i unfortunately don't like their fried chicken as it always tastes like fish. Would I come back again, sure , but to hang out and not so much gorge on food.
3.5/5. I enjoyed dining here! The ambiance was fun and the place was nicely decorated. I especially liked the use of soju bottle caps as part of the decor. They played K-pop music and even had a photo booth at the front. I heard they also have karaoke rooms, which makes it a great spot for group hangouts. Once you're seated, you'll place your order through a tablet. There's not much interaction with the server. The food portions were on the larger side. We ordered their signature fried chicken with soy garlic sauce on the side. Just a heads-up - they only offer boneless chicken. I wish there was an option for bone-in. The soy garlic sauce was just okay for me. It leaned a bit too sweet, and I didn't get much of the garlic flavor. The corn cheese, a classic favorite, was good but came out last. I'd highly recommend the rose tteokbokki. It was my favorite dish of the night! The rice cakes were perfectly chewy and the sauce was delicious.
Pocha K is always a good time. We always come close to their opening hours, when it is the emptiest. I believe it gets a bit rowdier at night, which is to be expected since it's more of a "late-night drunchies" type of vibe. I love the decorations and lights, and how each table has a little buzzer to call the waiter. My favorite tteokbokki of all time is from here! Something about the chewy texture of the rice cakes paired with the incredible sauce is making my mouth water. Usually I feel that the sauce of tteokbokki is on the sweeter side, but here it seems to be perfectly more balanced. I like to add cheese to it and sometimes ramyun. The kimchi fried rice is also to die for, with seaweed surrounding the perimeter of the dish and a fried egg on top. Other than those 2 dishes, you also can't go wrong with the pork belly, boneless fried chicken, or corn cheese. Order a bottle of soju while you're at it!
It feels like a pretty decent Korean restaurant. Although it's not my favorite Korean hot pot or Korean barbecue, their kimchi fried rice tastes okay. However, the beef offal and pork felt quite tough; the texture they aimed for might have been crisp, but the result was just really hard. Overall, there weren't many people when I visited, so there was no waiting in line. The restaurant is quite clean, and the ambiance inside is nice, perfect for social media enthusiasts to take photos. As for the service quality, nothing particularly stood out; it was just average. 感覺很OK的韓國菜，雖然不是我最愛的韓國鍋物、或是韓國燒烤，但是他們的泡菜炒飯味道還行。不過牛內臟和豬肉感覺肉質很硬，雖然他們想追求脆的感覺，但是結果真的是很硬。整體來說，我去的時間很少人，所以沒有等待排隊的時間。餐廳算是乾淨的，餐廳內的情調也很不錯，適合網紅來打卡。服務品質沒有感覺到特別的地方，算是中規中矩吧！
Upon walking in, the decor captures your eyes. There's a Photo Booth on the right, the iconic angel wings in Pride colors, and the dining area was also nicely decorated. Every table has a tablet that you order through. There weren't a lot of options in general and only about 3 items for vegetarians. I ordered the corn cheese and egg fried rice. They were both decent but both felt like something was lacking. We got a peach makgeolli to share and though it was tasty, we couldn't taste nor feel the alcohol. It could pass well for juice. I'd come back but as a vegetarian, I've tried everything they gave to offer so hopefully they'll consider adding more items.
Came here with some friends and we love how clean it is ! The food is super fresh and the service is amazing! Will definitely come back !
I come here every so often to share corn cheese and katsu with a friend but my most recent visit was the first time I've come with more than 1 other person. Sunday evening around 6PM was pretty good timing for our party of 6 - there was only one other group in the restaurant. They've got dim overhead lighting offset by string lights and the like on trellis-style dividing walls. Ordering is done through a tablet at your table and they bring the bill to you at the end. Gratuity was included for our party and service is pretty average (you might have to personally request water container refills). We got two of the so-maek towers (strawberry was good) and a few bottles of soju after those were finished and felt those were more than enough. The Korean fried chicken, although boneless, was fried very well and very sweet from the honey. Their corn cheese is also particularly sweet but is actually pretty flavorful compared to other ones I've tried. Kimchi fried rice and pork belly were adequate, although the pork belly was definitely on the saltier side. Solid spot for a friends and food.
I am writing this in complete shock right now. I went here for a late night snack two weeks ago. I ordered there combo which on the screen says $19.99. It was super average to taste and I really didn't get why they were charging so much for it but that's not even the point. I get the bill and the total then suddenly jumped to 27 something. I saw that they are charging 24.99 for that combo that just has two kinds of fries, some very bad dumplings and rolls. I tried to get it corrected and the cashier said he can't help with that and asked me to call again to get my refund. I unwillingly pay as his manager is also not present and he acts as if nothing is in his hands. Cut to two days later when I get an email from Capitol one that they charged me not once but twice for the same transaction. I have been trying to call them for two weeks now and they won't pick up either so now I am writing this review hoping they correct their mistake!
Kimchi fried rice 4/5 - this was okay but I think I can make better kimchi fried rice at home. There wasn't much pork in here. Rice was a little too wet for me. Cheese katsu 2/5 - I thought there would be some pork in here too and not just cheese. It was way too much cheese. If they just wrap the cheese around the pork and then fry it, I think it would be better. We came here on a Wednesday night since nothing else was open. Only one other table was filled. Workers stayed in the back of the kitchen
Pretty good and spacious pocha place in Newark! They have self ordered iPads, where you can ring up service or order more water and the bill! Food wise, they have all your standard Korean bar bites plus beer towers and soju. They even have a corner for the photo booth. In terms of food, we were big group and ordered a lot of different food to try. I highly recommend the ramen and corn cheese!
Okay look, I'll give credit to Pocha K... they know spice. Almost everything we've had was basically drenched in some type of spice that left my throat hurting and my need for water grew tenfold. But if that's your vibe, then I get why'd you be interested. My group and I were coming here after an exciting night at Glowfari and we had called ahead of time to make a reservation due to being a large party, but I don't think it was necessarily needed as there was still plenty of space inside the restaurant. You get seated, order via the tablet, and then wait for your food. If you follow them on Instagram and tag them in a story then you'll get a free soda. I left the ordering to my family, but I did enjoy the dishes that were ordered. Their kimchi fried rice was very good as was their cold tofu and cheese corn. There was one clam soup that my group ordered that I didn't like - it tasted nothing like clams and only of peppers, but my brother really enjoyed it so to each their own. Service was pretty quick on a Saturday night, too. The food came out fast and piping hot. Water was refilled, utensils were replaced, I mean, despite the big tables around us, the service was on point. Located in a plaza so parking is abundant and free. I did notice that one guy brought their dog into the restaurant, though, and while I am a dog lover myself, I wouldn't want them in here while I ate.

We ordered: kimchi fried rice Corn cheese Japchae Pocha Rosé Tteokbokki Bulgogi Spicy garlic chicken (i try not to eat chicken) Soju Since it was my birthday, we had two hours free inside the karaoke lounge. Very worthy of social media photo ops, friendly servers, super laid back vibe. I recommend!!!
I have a huge regret that I hadn't written a review for Pocha K before because I have loved them and so sad to see them go! They are down to their final days with their closure on 02/15/2026, I went to have a last meal with them :( I always recommended this place to all my friends for some K-fried chicken with soju and a cool ambiance. The restaurant is decorated very cool also but I've never posted pictures because my camera doesn't take great pictures in the lighting lol. My favorite things to get were the Pocha K chicken and the rose tteok bokki. Their chicken is consistently very crispy and the sweet savory sauce is soo yummm. read more
Fun vibes for a night out with friends! Everything is shareable, and they have larger sized tables for big groups. There's fun decor and photobooth inside as well! Here's what I got on my recent visit: + Boneless Korean Fried Chicken (5/5): So crispy, juicy, and saucy! I loooove eating this with the cabbage. Best thing here for sure. Expensive... but fun for a night out! + Cheese Tonkatsu Pork Cutlet (4/5): Crispy and very cheesy! Tasty, but a little small for the portion to be honest. Considering the price, I was expecting more. + Pocha Rose Tteokbokki (3/5): Nothing special. On the spicier side, so I wish it was more creamy. Rice cakes were a little too firm for me too. I wouldn't order it again. + Kimbap (4/5): Solid and made fresh! Good ingredients. These are not very durable though. They would start falling apart at just the touch of them. read more
Best late night spot for good vibes and delicious food. We spent about ~$40pp (for 5 ppl including tip) and ordered the fried chicken, kimchi fried rice, corn cheese, rose tteobokki, and pork belly. Came here for a girl's night out and we all craved fried chicken! The food service was good since we came when they first opened for the evening time, but I can see this place being packed as the night draws on and it's a great spot to go have late night drinks. We ordered dokkbokki (spicy rice cake) and fried chicken with a side of rice. We also ordered seafood pancake. We thought everything was flavorful and serving sizes were generous. The total per person came out to be about $20 and there were 3 of us. Would come back again to try other dishes! read more

Came here for a private event, for a friend's birthday. The room was pretty spacious and with two mics and a song book. For the private room (not sure if there are different packages) we had food. The food was average, edible but not remarkable. The staff at first got us confused and didn't think we were going to join the party, but then finally we were able to get in and the staff was nice. read more
Came here for a large birthday bash. The best part is that compared to the Santa Clara location, this one has much more space. The large mall has plenty of parking space. Everything is ordered via tablet and comes out relatively quickly. They even have a free soda option on the menu if you post on social media. For the food, I tried the pocha fries, fried chicken, and the fried gizzard. All were delicious! As for the drinks, I did have a sip of the buttered almond makgeoli which tasted just as it is described. Others were fans of the Jinro is back soju. Overall this is a great place to eat and drink if you like Korean bar food and drink. I was happy with the experience. The only thing to keep in mind is that alcohol here is a bit pricier. read more

Love the vibes here! The food, drinks, and aesthetic here are great. It's a great place for large party to come as there is plenty of tables, but with that in mind- it can definitely get really loud in here. The food here is so yummy, we got about 4 plates to share between 3 people and we were all stuffed and satisfied. We preferred the chicken over the pork belly but both were great protein options! The food's a little on the greasy side but that's not a problem, given we didn't order the healthiest options. I haven't been here late at night but I love that they do have longer hours than other restaurants, this would definitely be at the top of my list for any late night cravings if I'm in the area. read more
08.31.2024 - 2nd location Girl's night out turned out to be something we all needed. After having dinner at SOHO Japanese, we were in dire need of going to a second location to get our momentum going. After searching yelp, we saw pretty good reviews on Pocha K. Of course, that became our destination. Upon arrival, we didn't haven't to wait too long for a table. I loved that we had the power of ordering table-side as they provide an iPad to order whatever we like. We ordered the Army Soup, Corn Cheese and the Chicken Gizzard. But what kind of dining would that be if alcohol wasn't involved? We ordered several soju cocktails to get our night going. Service is amazing. Especially would like to give a shout out to Jake who took really good care of us, he checked on us multiple times and even took personable attention to how we were enjoying ourselves. With his positive attitude and friendliness, it felt like we were dining at a spot with longtime friends. He never rushed us, made sure we had everything we needed and even sat down to enjoy a shot or two with us. It was so enjoyable! I love the vibe and the service. Look forward to dining here again and sharing another shot with Jake. read more
Was surprised by the high ratings. Cute place and great for large gatherings because it gets pretty noisy. But not great on food and service. Cost is on the higher side especially given by the quality and taste. The garlic chicken was mostly thick breading and hardly any hints of garlic. The bulgogi beef was tough. The tobokki was overcooked. Worst of all, they stuck their fingers inside the cups and bowls when carrying them to the table. Gross!!! Definitely will not return. read more

Came here on a Tuesday evening, party of 2, for the first time. Our order: rabokki, chicken gizzard, pork belly, and 1 lychee soju cocktail. Total was $106.29 after tax before tip. Pros: - Very easy ordering system on the ipad on your table, you can select your order and it sends it straight to the kitchen and your food will just start coming out. - really cute vibes, the interior is trendy, great for late night drinking vibes, there's soju bottle caps intertwined within the hanging plant decor. - The food came out pretty quickly and was quite delicious. Huge portions, the rabokki was my favorite and the rice cakes had the perfect amount of spice. The fish cake pieces were big and I would order this dish again. - Easy parking lot in the plaza - The service was pretty fast and the staff were helpful. - Wasn't too crowded on a weeknight Cons: - I think for me the soju cocktail felt diluted, but maybe I just like my drinks strong or the ice made it feel watered down. I definitely would only recommend getting the vat of soju cocktail if you have 3 or more people, the 2 of us didn't finish it and $30 felt pricey. - Our table call button didn't seem to be working so we still had to wave down the staff when we needed things, but in theory I love table call buttons Overall, a great selection if you're craving Korean food with friends, with really great ambiance inside! Honestly would be a great pre-game place if you're about to go out after too. read more

Food (5/5 stars): Pocha K in Newark is a great spot for their Soju/Beer Tower and Korean food! I loved the flavor and cook of the Spicy Garlic Boneless Wings. They were savory and crispy but could've been a bit spicier. The Fried Rice, Corn Cheese, and Sweet Potato Fries are all excellent sides. Experience (4/5 stars): * Price: a little pricey but still worth trying * Wait Time: minimal at 5pm on a Friday for a party of 4 * Service: good * Parking: there's a parking lot * Ambiance: I love all the flowers and green! My friends and I wanted to try out this new Pocha K spot in Newark. Apparently they have a location in Santa Clara too. Since it was new, we were hoping it wasn't too busy on a weekend. Luckily, we went on Saturday at 5pm and were seated right away. We order through the kiosk tablet on the table. Food came out fairly quickly. Items coming at different times. We ordered A LOT of food. For the table of 8, we ordered the following: cheese pork cutlet x2, corn cheese x2, rabokki, Pocha fries, kimchi fried rice, bulgogi, spicy pork, japchae, lychee soju cocktail, mango soju cocktail, yogurt soju, and peach soju. Lots of soju to celebrate my promotion. The size of the cheese pork cutlet was insane!! Super cheesy and delish! Cheese corn was a classic. Rabokki wasn't too spicy but more on the sweeter side. It had ramen, rice cakes, and fish cakes. Pocha fries had a French fries, fried egg and hot Cheeto fries. Just ok. Kimchi fried rice was really good! Bulgogi and spicy pork were flavorful. Japchae was also yummy. The soju was smooth and easy to drink. Mango soju is the best! Pocha K is in a plaza with lots of restaurants and parking nearby. Service fee is included in the bill for large groups. Our server Seungil was attentive and super kind. Wonderful service!! Overall, it's a great spot for groups to enjoy Korean food! I would come back for the cheese pork cutlet, kimchi fried rice, rabokki, meats, and vibes!! YUMMM. read more

Pocha k is one of my favorite korean fried chicken places and I always crave it! I also love the atmosphere here. The music and decorations are so fun. Ive heard the santa clara location is busier, but i actually prefer this location since there usually no wait to be seated. We're always seated and able to order super quickly. We got our usual dishes, garlic fried chicken and kimchi fried rice. We decided to try the rose tteokbokki and it was so tasty! I love rice cakes, but sometimes it's so hard for me to eat regular tteokbokki because it's too spicy for me. This one was perfect and super creamy! I love the fishcake in it too. This place is a solid option for Korean food if you're not feeling any of the vast all you can eat options out there. There's a big parking lot by a super market and plenty of other restaurants and desserts to choose from after. It has a very nice cute decors made from Christmas lights and soju caps. Honestly it felt like a drunk tinkerbell's dream home with fake grass around to give it that earthy look. One of the reasons why we picked this spot is because they're open until midnight and we had a SUPER late dinner, so it's nice to have options while everything else was closed by 8 or 9 PM. We were seated right away and given water, everything else is ordered through an iPad on the edge of the table. Fries: were plain fries that came with a big cup of ketchup. Not enough salt to our liking but hey, it's fries. Pork and Vegetable Potstickers: this was good, it was fried to crispy perfection and comes with sauce. I enjoyed this dish Corn cheese: for me, this is always the star of the show. It was sweet and savory from the cheese. They give you a good amount of it to a point where the corn cheese was oozing off the side of the sizzling plate. Highly recommend. Kimchi fried rice: this dish was salty but still good. It came out very aesthetically pleasing and we had to mix the seaweed in. None of my friends wanted the egg on top so I took it and I think it's a perfect balance with the bits of meat in the rice. When I say bits, I mean bits. I couldn't tell there was meat in the dish until I took a couple of bites. The portion size is good for 2 people if that's all you're having. We split it perfectly with 3 and had room for a few more things. Army stew: this was smaller than I thought, especially compared to other places. But other spots specify that this dish is to be shared with 4 people. At this spot, you get a personal pot of army stew with all the goodies in it. This dish was also really salty but delicious. It complimented the corn cheese since that was such a sweet dish. We ordered a bunch of other things so we were able to split this between 3 people, also perfectly. Pork belly: I absolutely recommend this dish if anything. Again, another salty dish but that was a good thing. It was a cross between describing it as eating thick bacon or more like the crispy chopped pork you would get at a Chinese butcher shop. This dish along with the corn cheese was my favorite. It also came in a big portion, if you get this, make sure you grab a bowl of rice and a big cup of water. Overall, the ambiance was nice. The restaurant was located in a plaza with a lot of other things to choose from for dessert. A lot of the dishes were super salty expect for the one dish we hoped would have salt, the fries. Give it a try, you might have a different experience. I think I would come here with a bigger group for their soju tower. read more

OKKKK Pocha K, you are real good. Finally got to try this place out for a girl's night and had the best time. We went around 6:30pm and it was empty, but a few others trickled in right after us. Here is the menu: https://pochakusa.com/pocha-k-menu Since I'm currently breastfeeding, I only had a small window to drink some alcohol, so we started off with a pitcher of mango soju cocktail. It was sweet and tasty with a hint of alcohol (our server said there were a total of six shots). Then we ordered four dishes to share: 1. Spicy Garlic Boneless Chicken: I normally prefer bone-in chicken, but they don't have that option. However... this was the best boneless chicken I've ever had. It was sooo tender and juicy. And the batter was perfect and very flavorful. The daikon was really yummy too. This is a must get! 2. Kimchi & Pork Fried Rice: Delicious. I kept going back for more. 3. Army Stew: This one was a lot smaller than we expected. It's a bit spicy too but nothing that I couldn't handle. 4. Pork Belly: I feel like the meat wasn't as flavorful as I expected. Maybe it's missing some kimchi as a side :P We had more than enough food. I'm happy I got to bring some home for my hubby to try out too! The ambiance is really cute. There's hung up lights and floral and light backgrounds for good photo ops. Service was good too. I appreciate that they have a call button on the table. Wow! It's so empty here if you come at 6:30 pm on a Thursday night, but it gets busier after 7 pm. I came here with my friends, and this was my first time at this location. It's much nicer and more spacious than I expected. The interior design is super cute, with fairy lights and a floral wall perfect for taking photos. We ordered a pitcher of mango cocktail to start off the night. It was super sweet with a hint of soju. We also ordered grilled pork, army stew, kimchi fried rice, and spicy soy garlic chicken (boneless). My favorite dish was the kimchi fried rice, which was cooked perfectly with an egg on top. All the food tasted great, except for the army stew, which was a bit of a letdown. The portion was much smaller than expected, and for the price, it's not as worth it. However, I loved the spicy soy garlic chicken even though it wasn't as spicy as I expected. I would highly recommend coming here with a large group of friends. They stay open until midnight, making it a perfect spot to hang out. read more

A really great spot for late night pub-style food with friends! The Bay Area desperately needs more places like this so I'm glad Pocha K is here. There are a few downsides, but overall, I think Pocha K is a reliable spot if you want a casual hang out with friends over food. The food is pretty good for the area! For 6 people, we ordered: - army stew (4/5) - spicy garlic boneless chicken (5/5 must order!) - Pocha K fries (4/5) - Kimchi fried rice (3/5 - okay, small portion) - ddeokkbokki (4/5) There were two downsides being that it's really loud and hidden fees. Maybe this is just me being a little older, but the music is really loud inside, and I felt like I had to yell half the time in conversations over the music. If you're planning on ordering alcohol, just beware for the bill because they will charge extra CRV fees that were unavoidable. read more

*LOCATION* This hip little restaurant is located inside a busy plaza. It's 2-3 doors down from the Lion asian supermarket. There's a free big parking lot but can be hard to find a spot during peak hours. *WAIT TIME* My bf and I visited on Friday ~7pm and there was no wait. We were quickly seated inside and noticed that about half the restaurant was empty. However, more tables started filling up as we were eating and it was a full house by the time we left! *FOOD* -Spicy boneless chicken $22: we opted for half/half regular/garlic (they price half/half higher than single flavor orders), the garlic one was super flavorful and absolutely bomb, the regular was really plain and could use a side dipping sauce -Kimchi fried rice $14: good but nothing special -Korean army stew $21: not that great imo, the mini sausages were probably cooked in the soup too long because everything tasted like mini sausage! -Lychee soju $14 -Medium terra $8 *SERVICE* Staff was friendly and checked on us during the meal. No complaints here! *AMBIENCE* This is an interesting place to have a late night snack/meal with friends! The interior is nicely designed with lots of colorful LED lights and is a total vibe. I felt that some of the menu items were overpriced but I guess that's the price to pay for the environment! read more
