I'll start by saying that I believe the SERVICE here at least in my experience was a 5/5 I'm not sure if it's the manager of this BJ's but I thought he was super friendly when we came inside during dinner and requested a booth. Although it was super busy and the booths were mostly filled, he assured us that he would make it happen no matter what and to not worry about it. I'm very thankful he lived up to his promise and we were seated in a large booth (which is so helpful when you have a toddler who is trying to escape all the time during meals.) Angelica A. our server was also super nice and checked on us often throughout the meal. I thought the food came out quite quickly despite how busy/packed it was during dinner time and we really appreciate how sweet she was to us. Thank you! [[ Food ]] I think this is where BJ's is just so-so in my opinion. The food wasn't amazing and it wasn't bad but it was fine. There wasn't anything we got that really blew us away on how delicious it was but I think it was on-par for BJ's in general. We got the following: 1.) Prime Rib Special (comes with Soup or Salad and a Pizookie) 2.) BJ's Favorite Pizza - Shareable 11" I think the Prime Rib Special was a good deal since it came with 3 things bundled but the Prime Rib itself was just okay and the asparagus side that came with it was very hard. For some reason the pizza's cheese felt very sparse and I don't think it melted all the way so it wasn't gushing with cheese when we picked it up. Not sure what happened there but that was a bit disappointing. The Pizookie however is 5/5 once again and nothing beats a warm cookie with multiple scoops of ice cream. It makes me just want to come back to BJ's for the pizookie alone. Star of the show. read more

I've been coming to this specific location 2-3 times a month. Always a pleasure to dine in. Well last night unfortunately was horrible because of the waitress! I have to start by saying everything was perfect, Food was great etc. - until I was handed the check. The waitress had the nerve to add gratuity for 2 guest! On top of this, she had the nerve to rip the check and not provide a complete check. What she didn't know, is that I am a regular at BJs. I ALWAYS scan the barcode at the bottom of the check to pay. This way I receive my BJs rewards. Well, the waitress rushed off after handing my husband the check and never returned. I had to stop another waiter and ask him for his assistance. He indeed confirmed the check was not complete and he will have his manager take care of it. 15 minutes went by and the manager finally approached me. (didn't get his name, he is Indian) He hands me a copy of a complete check (since the one the waitress gave me was ripped in half) And he said - "Were you upset because she automatically applied the gratuity?" that pissed me off and I corrected him and said - Not only did she automatically apply the gratuity, she literally tore the bottom of the check so I couldn't see the complete check" What really upset me about the whole situation was - I WAS ABLE TO VIEW THE DIGITAL CHECK ON MY APP!!! I already knew what my total was. The manager tried his hardest to cover the issue the waitress caused but the damage was already done. I am highly upset the waitress did this! I ALWAYS tip over 20%. Because of this issue, I did not tip the thieving waitress. I ended up tipping the waiter who went to get his supervisor. He didn't even want the tip. Let me know he was just doing his job. I told him he was the only person who could tell me the truth! It was the waitress's fault. And because I'm a good human being - I forced him to take the tip!!! He tried to give me half of the tip back but I told him he deserved it!! Because of this situation, it ruined our date night. We couldn't stop talking about what just transpired. I am STILL highly upset! I really hope to hear from the other manager - Mad I don't know his name but he has Locs and he always takes care of my husband and I when we come to this location. read more

BJ's is an excellent restaurant and brewery, offering some of the best food and beer around. However, my recent experience at the bar on the evening of 3/30 was very disappointing. There were two bartenders on duty--Chloe, who was friendly, attentive, and provided great service, and another bartender whose name I unfortunately did not catch. While Chloe was welcoming, the other bartender repeatedly ignored me despite multiple attempts to get her attention by raising my hand and making eye contact. She appeared engaged in conversation with other customers and did not acknowledge me at all. When I raised this concern with a supervisor, I was told that she "didn't see me" or hear me call her name. Given how many times I tried to get her attention, I found that explanation difficult to accept. I believe BJ's could improve the customer experience by ensuring all staff are attentive and responsive to every guest. Additionally, clearly visible name tags would help customers identify staff when issues arise. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as I would like to continue enjoying what is otherwise a great establishment. read more

Food is great, lots of options on the menu and deals everyday. However, there's always a wait even on a weekday, even with a reservation. It feels like they're always understaffed, slow service even if the place isn't filled. Also make sure to sit at the bar if you plan on getting anything from happy hour menu, otherwise they'll charge you normal price. Pizza is great, burger was average. It came with a mini pizookie, but every Tuesday there's a $5 pizookie deal. read more

Online ordering and curbside pickup needs to be better. I placed an order online, arrived and checked-in. I received the text my order is ready past my pick-up I chose. I wasn't even sure if anyone was coming out. A staff member came out with all my items and placed them in my car. What I don't understand is why she proceeded to hand me a large pizza box in the driver side window. Then tries to hand me the large catering bag the same method. I told her to place in the back passenger seat instead. Got home to unpack everything and everything looked great. Portion size was good and I got everything I ordered. Except for the garlic roasted vegetables that were supposed to come with the $85 steak and ribs bundled. I didn't have time to go back and wait again for my order. My recent visit here was a bit disappointing due mostly to the food rather than the service itself. I often come to this location for food and drinks and to watch sports. As I come here on game days I'm fully aware of how busy it can get and I'm extremely patient especially working in a service industry. I could visibly see how busy my waitress was but that didn't bother me as she was still as attentive as she could be. When my salad arrived it was absolutely delicious no complaints there but as food the other food it was a major let down. My first issue is that no other dishes that came out were hot. My fries were extremely cold & soggy, my burger wasn't fried chicken but mostly just fried crust in bread and my mother's sandwich also came out cold. The drinks we had ordered were very inconsistent. We didn't send anything back as it was so busy and long wait times already. I will say I was a bit surprised by the food as I normally don't experience this issue but unfortunately this has been the second time and it does make me sad. My wife and I felt like some BJ's tonight so we came in for a meal. The decor is typical BJ's, the desk upfront with hosts standing ready to great you and take your to your seat. The tables and chairs are pretty identical to ones you would see from other BJ's alike. We sat down and off to the races we went. We got: California Chicken Club - 4 out of 5 The sandwich came toasted. With cut white chicken breast meat in combination with avocado, bacon, tomato and lettuce. It's really hard to go wrong. I did take a point out of 5 due to the fact that one side of the toasted bread was burnt and we had to get another new piece instead which really sucked. Loaded Nachos - 5 out of 5 The nachos were filled with sour cream, tomato, salsa, guac, and chicken mixed heavily with sauce. This was a genuine surprise to us as we couldn't get enough of this. A highly recommended appetizer for those of you that enjoy nachos. Wife's pizza & kid's meal - 5 out of 5 My wife and my son both loved their meal so that's a 5 out of 5 from me. Service - 4 out of 5 Our waiter was attentive although at times we needed to flag him down but it wasn't too long of a wait. He was friendly overall. This location is a BJ similar to other locations to us. The atmosphere is great with live TV and sports playing. It feels relaxed and you can always enjoy some good hearty meal with a bear or two. The quality of the food is always good and the service is the same. I may come back from time to time when I'm in the area, this restaurant was busy when we came at night so if you enjoy BJ's elsewhere, this one is a safe bet to go as well! read more

BJ's is a lively place so we came to watch the game. We asked to be seated in the bar area at a booth. They have a lot of TV's which is great, you can see a screen from any seat. We expected it to be busy. Our waitress was very nice and did her best given the situation but management needs to evaluate staffing needs during busier times in the bar area. There are a lot of tables and there should be sufficient servers to take care of everyone. We started with drinks and I had two Mojitos. They tasted completely different. The first one lacked sweetness, and the second one was sweet darker in color and strong. The honey, hot buffalo boneless wings were pretty good and the tomato mozzarella salad was delicious. My fiancé and I decided to celebrate the weekend with some happy hour and a pizookie. It was busy for 4:30pm, but we were able to find a high top near the bar. Between the hostess and the waitress that helped us, we had a great experience with the staff. Very friendly and nice. We ordered almost everything off the menu because why not lol. The potstickers were crispy and filled with chicken, the personal pizza was yummy, the sliders and fries were also delicious, but a bit dry. They were missing cheese and didn't realize they came without it. Now the mozzarella sticks were just WOW. For happy hour they give you A LOT of mozzarella sticks we were pleasantly surprised! Breading, cheese pull everything about them was good. I'd say the only miss of happy hour were the drinks. WORST WORST WORST Mother's Day dinner! Food was HORRIBLE - Service was even MORE HORRIBLE! Took 20 minutes for the server to come to the table to ask for drink orders (water and ice tea). Another 15 minutes to place the dinner order (dinner wedge salad, fish tacos and chicken, broccoli & mashed potatoes). At the time of ordering, our server said she was going on break and another server would be covering. 40 minutes later (without the interim server coming by) we received or meal (without the salad). Had to remind the server that we ordered an appetizer salad. My fish tacos barely had any Mahi-Mahi fish on the tacos and were covered with cabbage and were COLD. Didn't see a server for the next 30 minutes and by that time my boyfriend was finished with his dinner. Never received refills on Ice tea or water. COMPLETELY unacceptable. We went to BJs Dublin location 8 months ago and discovered that their pizza was really horrible (under-sauced, barely toasted just mediocre). The server there told us that we need to inform the server to put it for an extra rotation. So this time here at Newark, we made sure to let our server know to "put it in for an extra rotation". We ordered 3 mini, and they were better than the pizza at the Dublin location but still missing that wow factor. I can vividly remember being impressed and wanting to eat another slice from when I was in college. Maybe I'm putting too much pressure on their pizza. At the end of the day. They are not BJ Pizzeria and Brewhouse. Anyway, for happy hour we also ordered Mozzarella sticks and sliders. Can't mess those up. This isn't the first time I've ordered from this restaurant. My family likes to order the meal package when we don't have time to cook. The food combination for the packages are good and affordable. The restaurant is located close to residential areas. I ordered for curbside pick up tonight because it was raining and the service was available. Normally I would like to have some personal interaction, not tonight. I had a sprained ankle and was having a hard time walking. I parked at the #1 spot and followed the instructions on the sign. Another car parked on spot on my left. Their order came out in just a few minutes. I waited patiently even if my order was supposed to be ready 10 minutes before I arrived. The other car left. Other customers came and went, my order didn't come. I called the restaurant but to no avail. After 15 minutes, I decided to go inside. No one was at the take-out counter. The servers walked by like they didn't see me. Finally, I called one of them and asked for help. The guy asked me if I wanted to order. I told him that I've ordered and has been wanting at the curbside spot but my order didn't come. He called someone inside the kitchen to help me. A gitl came out. I think she was the one who gave the order to the other curbside. customer. She looked at my order number on my phone and grabbed my orders. I told her that I've been waiting in my car at the curbside parking but my order never arrived. She nonchalantly said sorry about that. Then she told me to check my orders to make sure it's correct!? I was perplexed. I told the girl that shouldn't she make sure that orders are correct? She said she wants to make sure because some customers complain sometimes that their orders are not correct. I've worked in the restaurant field for a longvtime so I try to be as understanding as I can, but as a customer I expect to get my money's worth. Solid food and service in Newark. Had dinner with college friends here last night. They could not find our reservation but seated our party of six nevertheless. We ordered drinks and appetizers to share - a coupe of flavors of chicken wings (boneless), avocado egg rolls, and honey sriracha sprouts - the sprouts and honey bbq wings were my favorite. I was quite full so opted to get the ahi poke appetizer as my entrée - this was a good move as it was fresh and delicious and just the perfect size! Most of the others left their entrée plates unfinished or took food home. Total bill was $240 (after tax and tip). Bathrooms were clean. Parking was tight, but available. Happy to return. read more

Made it in to watch the College Championship game between Ohio and Notre Dame. It was lnt full yet when we arrived and we're able to seat ourselves and a nice booth. It wasn't long before we were greeted along with getting the beverages going. We didn't waste time and put our order in right away. Spinach and Artichoke Dip - ***** 5 stars***** Creamy and light Sliders - *****5 stars***** Juicy is the word for these. I personally love the pickles on the side. Asked for jalapenos to pile on as well. Pizza - BJs favorite deep dish ****4.9 stars**** I've always loved the pizza here. It makes me remember I should put it on the to-eat list more often. The only drawback was the person cutting it didn't get all the way through the middle. We had a hard time getting each piece out of the pan and had to pull it apart. Our server was one of the best we've had. She was very polite and apologized for some slight delays with our pizza. Monday nights half off pizzas create a bit of a backup apparently. I've been here a hundred time so my girlfriend and I wanted to order some new items. We tried the spicy peanut noodles, and these were tasty. Basically tasted like a spicier pad Thai. We also ordered the BJs brew-house bowl with tritip. This is basically a Walmart version of a chipotle bowl! It tasted good and it felt healthy, but I still think Chipotle did it better. We stopped in at this location of BJ's for a mid afternoon lunch. It was super busy even though it was 2:30pm. Even with that, we were able to grab a bar table and eat quickly. Came here for a work dinner and we had an alright time. We ordered a variety of drinks, appetizers, and entrees and were (overall) very underwhelmed. Their wine selection was okay and drinks were alright (would not recommend their espresso martini). I enjoyed their appetizers more than their mains, and would recommend their brussel sprouts and ahi poke. I got their sirloin steak and shrimp scampi combo for my entree and was heavily disappointed. My order came out MUCH later than the rest of my table (some of my peers already finished their meals by the time mine came). Moreover, I did not receive the shrimp scampi AND despite having ordered the steak rare, it came well done and was very tough. I could not eat it. Service was very polite though. You can immediately tell she genuinely enjoys what she does, and that energy makes such a difference. We've actually gone back twice just to see her, and both times she was just as consistent, attentive, and kind. What really stood out to me is how much she pays attention--she took the time to get to know our niece and even checked in on us in such a thoughtful way. That level of care is rare these days and made us feel genuinely valued. On top of all that, she's absolutely beautiful inside and out, and her positive attitude just lights up the whole experience. We got here around 11pm for a late night dessert snack. My friend was craving a pizookie so we decided to stop by. This was the first time I've been to this BJs in years. There were a good amount of people in the resultant so there was a good amount of noise. It seemed a little busy for a weeknight, but there were still a good amount of seating options and we were seated pretty fast. Our server didn't seem happy to be there. She was rude and rushed us when trying to take our order. When our food and drinks came, she pretty much dropped them on the table in a rush (with a bang and no warning) and walked away. I get that it was a busy night, but we weren't doing anything to warrant that reaction from her. It made us lot want to order any additional items besides what we first ordered. Food was okay. The artichoke dip was creamy and good. We got the hot fudge brownie pizookie and we weren't entirely sure if it was cooked thoroughly.. the middle of the dessert was mushy and runny. Went here for my friends birthday. The food was so blah. Fries were good and my son's pizza was ok. But the spinach dip was disgusting so much we probably should have said something but didn't want to bother. The chicken was cold the sliders were bland we're supposed to have onion but the little dried bits were flavorless. They also had so little lettuce. We didn't even finish them. I was there about 4 yrs prior and remember it being pretty good. I will definitely think twice before returning. read more
