Today we took my mum's dog bebe (a 4 pound chiuahua) to get her nails trimmed Timmie Doggie Outfitters. When my mum went to pass bebe to the STORE OWNER (who said he would take her) he quickly removed his hands and allowed a 4 pound little dog fall, at least 4 feet. She landed on her side and rolled onto her back. Thank God she doesn't seem injured - however this man, a shop owner in downtown Toronto then had the nerve to say she was showing him her teeth. Bebe is a sweet dog with no agression whatsover. We didn't get so much as an im sorry. He showed no remorse, and behaved as if nothing had happened after being confronted by my mum and myself. Is this the way we expect our beloved pets to be treated by a "professional" who owns a business where he cares for our beloved fur babies. I brought my 11 month old aussie-doodle here for a full groom. He was definitely due for a cut and had some matting around his neck and tummy. I asked the groomer to try and keep his fur as long as possible, and she said he was very matted but would do her best. We just picked him up and he is completely shaved, and his face is cut in a way that its long on top (ears jowls) but short everywhere else? The cut seems uneven all over and honestly my dog looks ridiculous. We are extremely unhappy and i wish they had explained to us a little bette as to what they were going to do before just shaving him down to the skin! Will not be going back. read more

HAve taken my 11 month old Labradoodle here before for a trim and nail clip. They did a great job. However, this last time I took him in i did say that he needed to be shaved but was not expecting this. He did have some matting in his hair but they cut him soooo short as well as his face and ears. Not sure why they did the tail so he looks like a squirrel and shaved a bit of his tail where it meets his back. Reggie has been acting very strange after as well. Seems very skidding/on edge and a bit traumatized. Sooooooo.. I was well aware that my ShiPoo had horrible matting, which I thoroughly explained to the gentlemen on the phone when I made the appointment. Let me preface by saying that this would have been my first time patronizing this establishment, whereby I usually take Harlem to Petsmart in Etobicoke (who, by the way have no issues with matting). The gentlemam stated that matting would be extra, to which I was amenable too as I fully understood Harlem's condition. Fast forward to this morning, when I entered Timmies, I was met with a lady, who immediately informed me that my dog was very very nervous, uhmmmm yeah, it's his first time there and you shoved you hand in his nose without warning. She then hmmms and hawsss, repeatedly calls Harlem a she and states that the most she can do is shave him down. After a few minutes, I come around to the idea and even though my spidey senses were tingling, I eventually leave him with her, first mistake. Maybe 2 hours later, a gentlemen calls me to inform me that they could not groom Harlem and he was ready for pick up at my convenience. He reasoned that the matting was too overwhelming for the groomer, can I just admit, that Harlem has been worse, but whatever. I get there a half hour later to greet my dog, who is 60% bald, his head untouched as well as both of his front legs, it's also a very shoddy balding, with patches of hair everywhere, as well as his paws are horrendous. Like no cares taken at all. I was like WTF?! Is this real life?! He starts explaining and all I am hearing is wah wah wah as I am thinking of ways to burn down his establishment, needless to say I am seething. Like what am I supposed to do with a Harlem the Lion King?! I eventually asked him what I owed and replied it was no charge, I am like you dam straight in fact you owe me money cause now I have to scramble to fix this mess. I honestly just had to stop talking. Too make this long story short, I'm convinced that she is not an accredited groomer because I have been to more than 6 groomers in Harlem's 7plus years of life that were better able to meet his grooming needs. Yes, he had extensive matting, but for an established grooming place, that could not have been the first time you've encountered a matted dog. After many months of Covid19 home grooming, we finally called George and made our first appointment with Cassie at Timmies; and I am SO glad we did! It might seem a little extreme, since we drove from over an hour away to visit Timmies for Brynnley's grooming appointment, and let me tell you, it was SO worth it! We've always thought our sweet puppy was a cutie, but I never could've imagined just how adorable she could be. We are thrilled with Cassie's work! She took her time to give Brynnley adequate time to get used to being groomed by a professional and her feedback afterwards was very encouraging, informative and helpful. Brynnley didn't seem remotely stressed afterwards, only happy to see her Mama so she could show off her new look. Hahaha. Context: This was my dogs second time at the groomers and his first time at Timmie. My spouse and I brought our dog there on the weekend. We notified them beforehand that he was a 85lb 1yr old golden retriever to which they confirmed that would be no problem. We dropped him off to a less than friendly employee (who we later discovered was the groomer). She was not helpful in answering our questions and could barely answer anything with more than a grunt or shrug. She didn't seem particularly fond of dogs in general and needed me to help her bring our dog downstairs to the grooming area. (First warning sign) About 15 minutes after dropping him off we missed a call from Timmie. We tried calling back 7 times roughly every 10 minutes after, with NO answer. (Second warning sign) We then arrived at noon as they told us he would be ready by then. This time there was a different employee at the counter (equally unfriendly and not helpful). He told us they had some difficulty with our dog - that he was very strong and this would be the last time they groom him. He went on to describe how they attempted to groom him which included locking him in a crate with all blow dryers on him (because he was afraid of the dryer). I absolutely understand a big puppy can be very difficult to groom, but have never heard of groomers locking dogs in a crate to get the job done, and I certainly don't appreciate them treating a dog this way! He continued to tell us that our dog was not ready yet and would need more time. When we asked how much longer he simply shrugged and stared at us. Then we had to prompt him to go check and he told us at least another hour. At this point my spouse and I were at our limits with this company and asked to get our dog. When giving them the feedback he seemed disinterested in my concerns, and went on to make excuses on how difficult it is to hear the telephone with dryers on. They were nice enough to take 20% off the cost of the groom (mostly because it was incomplete and our dog was terrified), but that does not excuse the fact they lacked the basics of customer service and seemed to have no interest in pets or their well being. I would love to assume these were all unfortunate circumstances, but because of the above I cannot insist enough that people keep their dogs away from Timmie. read more

I've been taking my wheaten terrier to Timmies for almost 3 years and today I really had a bad experience with them I will never take him back. My dog had an appointment on Monday for his regular groom. My wife took him there at 9h30am and was told that the basement was flooded because of the previous night storm. She rescheduled my dogs groom for Tuesday 11am. She took him again there just to be told that the water tank is broken and that she would have to come back another day. The staff was very rude and did not even offer an apology for having her go there twice. The least they could done is call and let us know about the issue and not having her go all the way there just to be treated in a very rude way without even apologizing. I won't be going there again. My dog doesn't like the place either, he always cries when he gets there (and he never cries) read more

A quick Yelp search for "gift" and "dog" led me to Timmie Doggie Outfitters just across from Trinity Bellwoods Park. It's a colourful spot, absolutely littered (eh?) with dog-related goodies. I had come to the right place. Though I am not a dog owner myself, I have to say the selection was impressive. There were items for dogs and cats alike. Doghousewares, pet couture, beauty supplies and house-made treats. I scooped out a selection of moustache-shaped beef treats topped with yogurt and carob. I can't believe I know these details. Anyway, seems like a great spot for a fancy gift for your beloved pet. I think the prices here are a bit out of line for everyday shopping, but you will certainly find something for that special somedoggy in your life. This is THE place to go for spending a ridiculous amount of money to outfit your dog. Coach collars, designer duds and gourmet grub can all be had here, for a price! I do come here because they have an excellent selection of quality foods, and are one of the only places in the neighbourhood to purchase Acana food. I did also buy a rather expensive coat here for my tiny, frozen friend this winter, and we received great service and help sizing up my pup. Our 8 month Mini Goldendoodle just had his first grooming and we couldn't be happier with the result, especially after being so nervous of how he was going to be able to sit still for them to even get the job done. I recommend if you have some sort of clipper at home, to slowly accustom your puppy to the noise by pretending to groom them. I did this several times for a week leading up to his first visit and it must have helped. The store itself has a great selection and its been our go-to for toys and chewables. The clerk, Angel is a sweetheart and always greets us with enthusiasm. I read all the reviews, the very few negative ones concerned me and I suppose you can't please everyone, but there were far more people who loved their results as well. I would not hesitate in recommending Timmie's and will be back... and trust me, I'm not easy to please :) read more

Sure, there are dog clothes here, but there's also a ton of other things for your pampered pooch. They carry top quality, premium (e.g. grain-free) food, and have a great selection of leashes, collars, harnesses, treats, and toys. I have short-haired French Bulldogs that don't require fancy grooming, so I can't speak for their grooming services, but they have a nice stock of shampoos and conditioners to keep your pet smelling fresh n' clean if you bathe your dogs at home. Prices are a little high -- a large bag of my dogs' preferred kibble, Acana Pacifica, is about $10 more than I've typically paid for it, but I'm happy to pay the extra in order to support an independent pet shop. read more

I took my little Shih tzu mix for a grooming here and had a wonderful experience. Everyone was so kind to her and most importantly, the hair cut was fabulous! She was given the hair cut I had asked for exactly and it took pretty much exactly the time they said it would (I was quoted 2-3 hours and got the call to come pick her up at 2.5 hours). The selection of toys and treats here are great that I always end up walking out with a bag of cookies or a new stuffed squeak toy for my pup when I visit. Great friendly staff who always extend a treat to my dog. Decent selection of chew toys, treats, and bones. Their doggy clothing is always up to date with the season/trends such as world cup jerseys or winter parkas (aka. Canadian pooch). They have locally made treats as well as high end top of the line food options. A glass counter holds fresh baked treats in a wide variety of shapes/designs that again are up to date with the seasons. Overall a great shop to spoil your pet at as well as pick up some of the necessities. 4 stars only because I wish they would stock more of a variety of chew bones. this store is a place where you can purchase items to both pamper your animals and yourself and provide them with healthier food for a longer and stronger life. there are many clothes you can buy for your pet, and though i think that there is no purpose for animal clothes; it is quite silly and a waste of money, there surely isnt anything harmful involved in them whatsoever - animals have no ego to be bruised and they couldnt care less either way. boots or booties as you might prefer to call them DO have a purpose. one company called PAWZ, which they carry, provide simple boots made of natural rubber thats are disposable, reusable and biodegradable. these things are great to protect dogs paws against all the crap that lines our lawns and streets like pesticides, salt and so on. we dont lick our feet to clean ourselves but animals do, so they ingest it - smart, conscious and logical. the food they sell is top of the line; its like anything else, if you care about the food you put in yourself, in a child if you have one, youll do the same for your pet. its probably the smarter thing to do anyhow - less chance of disease, means less chance of vet bills. i buy wellness for my cats and they have a higher quality of wellness food for the cats thats without grain, a little more expensive, but supposedly the cats will need to eat less of it. its definitely worth a try (though my cats are piggies in disguise). i also spotted a cat litter box that ive seen before, selling for about 50 bucks, thats a large dome where there is long staircase that leads up the pooping area. this is good in theory because the space is large enough for potentially finicky cats (and which one is not?) and the staircase is studded with bumps to help eliminate all the litter from their paws and keep it inside the dome and not on your floor. of course there are other toys, snacks and gourmet "cookies" that though theyre probably filled with high quality ingredients, im sure your cat or dog couldnt care less how pretty it is. if youd like to have your pets food dishes be more than utilitarian in style then you can choose from simple classier designs to hold bowls or maybe a pillow/bed for your pet (god knows i should have gotten my cats used to something like that from the start and i wouldnt have to get hair off of everything!). theyre stock is vast, intelligent, colourful and surely over-the-top on some accounts but overall beneficial. read more

Sorry to say I received the rudest "service" today when I made the mistake of thinking I could request a same day birthday cake for my dog. I called in the morning and left a message, which was ignored. When I went into the store I was ignored until I called out to ask for service. The clerk curtly told me to wait, and when he did come he was annoyed to have to talk to me. Wow. Mike S. has a very different take on Timmie's than I do. Timmie's offers top of the line food, gear and treats for both dogs AND cats. If you are someone that doesn't want to feed rendered cats and dogs to your cat or dog, then I highly recommend this shop. He carries foods that are human grade and also supports special diets. I actually didn't know there was a no grain dry cat food on the market. He carries Wellness and a variety of other wonderful foods. They have a huge array of products and a lot of them are even eco-friendly and locally sourced. The grooming experience here was awful! I was very hopeful about this place after seeing some of the photos and positive reviews but unfortunately can't say the same. I gave them very specific instructions about grooming my puppy's face, with photos and a confirmation from the groomer after inspecting my dog that it wouldn't be a problem. They basically did exactly what I told them NOT to do! They expected me to pay before I even saw my dog and then when I did see him they pretended there was no issue. The owner and staff tried to find any excuse they could to avoid blame and to instead place it on me. I didn't even recognize my own dog anymore. Awful experience with staff and an owner who clearly do not care one iota about the quality of their grooming work or the happiness of their customers. Would not recommend. read more

If you have a Papillon do NOT groom it here. I have a papillon who's black has faded to a beautiful brown giving him nice layers of different colors. We told them NOT to cut any colored fur and only to cut the white fur on his belly (because it's unsanitary when he pees) which they did not do. I pick him up and the fringe around his ears are gone! They cut almost all the black around his face which will take up to a year to grow back, obviously not listening to the instructions I gave. I had a word with the groomer and she tells me it's NORMAL to cut their fringe!!! What world does she live on? You would think they would know a thing or two about how different breeds coats are supposed to look and that a papillon means butterfly in French! They are MEANT to have fringe around their ears because they look like butterflies! AWFUL experience. They are scissor happy, inexperienced groomers who have no idea what they are doing and do not listen to instructions! read more

Worst dog grooming experience of my life! I've had dogs for over 15 years so this is quite a title to be earned. I have two dogs, a puppy and an older guy. After she didn't finish the old dog's nails (I even expressed unhappiness when picking the dogs up but she didn't fix it... but did offer a $5 discount) I ended up having to take my puppy to the vet because she cut him and it got infected (which is the first time I've ever had to take my dog to the vet because of a grooming experience). Needless to say, after getting their nails fixed elsewhere and the vet vet bill cleared, it was by far the most expensive grooming I've ever experienced! Don't go there. read more

Great groomer in my area! I brought my Morkie in for a full grooming and couldn't be happier. Perfect, even cut and Molly was very happy and comfortable when I picked her up. She was ready right when they said she would be which is a huge plus. Another great plus is they give $5 off your first grooming. Very pleased and will definitely be back.
