She asked some questions and also explained everything that she will do. I told her I want the teddy bear style. She was very sweet and gentle to our pet. Zen Dog was a great spot for my puppy's first grooming experience! The groomer was really thorough, asking a lot of questions about length of the trim in different areas. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. My dog had fallen ill the morning of her original appointment so we had to head to an emergency clinic and the staff were understanding with the short notice. I know some places charge you with less than 24 hours' notice so was super relieved this isn't the case at Zen Dog. They were able to slot us in the next day when I called in, which was really appreciated. The store is also really well stocked on both the first and second level so there was a lot to browse through. I will definitely be back and recommend this place to others! read more

I get my Doodle(Buster) groomed at Zen Dog with Sarah! I have followed Sarah to other locations, but now happy to have her closer to us on Church Street!!! And Philip is a lovely contact at the front desk too! I have a chocolate brown Cobberdog( aka Australian labradoodle) that requires frequent grooming/hair cuts. I used to take a picture and show Sarah, Buster would always finish with the exact cut I asked for. It's really unfortunate that this has happened with Zen Dog. My dog and I have been going there for a couple of years and I trusted them whole heartily with my fur baby, brought food from there and even treats + toys. To say I supported the business is un understatement. A couple of days ago i had booked a bath and brush for OB. Everything went well until I got a call to come pick him up. As I'm approaching the store I get a call from the groomer her self telling me that OB is in fact "not done yet and will need a few more minutes with him" the call sounded rushed but I didn't want to think the worst. I decided to run an errand In the mean time until I get a call around 30 minute later. This time I was told that OB is actually MISSING!! I was in absolute shock, a part of me wanted to think it was a joke, I immediately went around the block of the store yelling his name out before going back to the store where the manager was acting like it was nothing serious at all! I was so frustrated and all he was saying I'm sorry there's someone out there looking for him mind you they never asked where I lived or what area he could end up at. *HE DID NOT EVEN HAVE HIS COLLAR ON* so no way to contact me if found and on top of that they did not inform me right away! By the time I was informed OB was missing around 40 minutes had passed. I understand accidents happen but how could they let there eye sight out of a dog is beyond me and then be irresponsible on top of that?!?!!? By the time I was reunited with him I had gone thru so much emotion, tears, anger, and resentment that I would never wish on a dog owner. I know the owner did not ever mean for this to happen and it was an accident but please choose better staff. Luckily I'm blessed with such a smart boy and he was able to make his way back home safely otherwise I don't think I would even be strong enough to type this. I loved this place! They were able to squeeze my dog in at the last minute and took a lot of care with his groom. I like that they spent a min of 2 hours and were thorough. The groomer made sure to check multiple times about the length and style and even took a photo of the photo on my phone of when I had my dog previously groomed and had liked the style. The owner was around and was very friendly. He introduced himself and was very kind to my dog. They even gave us some takeaway treat samples to go. I am so lucky to live in the Church-Wellsley area, because Zen Dog is the ideal neighbourhood pet shop! Everyone who works there is primarily concerned about the welfare of your furry friend, not meeting sales expectations. William, Francesca, Judit and everyone else who works there are literal life savers. They all know how to properly handle animals and never fail to shower any animal with love and attention (or not if they like to be left alone). Everyone who works there is always open to chat and answer any questions you might have about basically anything! I recently got my first puppy and William has been with me since day one. He's helped me pick out which accessories are most suitable for my furry friend, listened to my pet concerns and gave me advice on how to handle certain situations. We frequent this place quite a bit as whenever Winston (my puppy) and I walk past, he drags me in! He loves everyone who works there because they always shower him with love and treats! We consider Zen Dog a safe place. Dan, the dog trainer, is also exceptional. He'll train your dog in minutes to do things you've spent hours/days/weeks trying to teach your dog, to no success! An aptly named shop. I live in the neighbourhood and just adopted by first dog... I was looking for a place to groom my fresh Golden Doodle (who's actually mostly Poodle = hair for days!). So glad Zen Dog is in the 'hood. Super friendly, very professional and a real commitment to detail and wonderful customer service from the booking, to the reception at the store and the hand off from the groomer. William is incredible! He took great care of our baby Taro who is a 3 and 1/2 month old corgi. He's so easy to deal with and he's truly accommodating! Also, he's incredibly trustworthy. More importantly, he's amazing to Taro! He takes good care of him and Taro bonded with him right away. He's very kind and gentle with him, giving the appropriate and necessary puppy training when necessary. He even gave us updates through WhatsApp when he was with our little boy. This place is such a find! I relocated to the Church Wellesley neighbourhood temporarily and discovered this fantastic spot. My puppy Leo was groomed here, spot-on service, nothing is rushed or forced yet everything is busy and professional. The BEST dog walker in Toronto! This is a very professional operation. I appreciate the video footage, texts and picture updates William sends to me while I am away on vacation. Both Mickey and Isabelle wait excitedly for William's arrival. Isabelle can be very difficult to handle, but William gives her the attention she requires, while being firm and positive when she acts out.
