I have tried so many groomers in Markham over the years as a dog owner. Covid really changed…read moreeverything a lot. Prices have gone up, quality has gone down. Our OG a groomer sadly closed her shop and never reopened. When we brought home our newest furbaby 10 months ago, instinctively, I took her for grooming to another spot where we used to take our last pup. The price had tripled, a lot had changed and there was no transparency with services or pricing. Needless to say, I never went back. I received a few recommendations and one of them came highly recommended by a friend and fellow trusted dog owner. This is how we arrived at Q Studio. Quaint little shop tucked away beside Roll Me Up Ice Cream and a hair salon on Main Street Markham. It is a small shop, but clean and well maintained. Our furbaby loves her visits to the shop. Her grooming is always neat and exactly what we discussed on her very first visit. They are very consistent with the quality of grooming and if it is going to take 2 hrs, they are very communicative with letting us know if she is almost done or may take a bit longer. Pricing is great for the services and no hidden costs or charges.

From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the groomer isn't just skilled at their craft, but genuinely cares about the well-being and comfort of the dogs they work with. They took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted and handled my dog with such patience and kindness. It is rare to find a business that combines professional expertise with such a high level of genuine care. My dog came out looking fantastic and, more importantly, happy and relaxed. If you want 5-star service and peace of mind knowing your pet is in the best hands, Hollywoof is the place to go!

We're usually quite picky when it comes to husky grooming, only because we've read horror stories in online forums and the like! i found doggie delight from a Yelp search and used the request a quote / message the business feature and they were SO quick at responding and answered any questions i had. communication was super straightforward and they were incredibly responsive, especially considering i messaged them close to the end of their operating hours. the day of the groom was also really simple and straightforward! i was given a rough estimate on when our pup would be ready, but the person at the business also told me they'd text me when she's done. i think they did a great job with my pup and she didn't even seem to be too scared to be there either! unfortunately, i forgot to take pics when she was fresh out of the groomers, but they definitely did a great job and didn't do anything i was worried about! we'll be booking here again next year for our husky's annual professional groom! (don't worry, we brush and clean her at home too lol)

My poms puppy had a severe matting behind her ears, I sent a photo to a friend of mine who is groomer in BC whom advised me to take her to the groomer immediately as they have necessary detangling tools and can help with the situation. Her regular groomer didn't have time so had to book with this place for the fist time. They shaved the matt off without consulting me!! Simple google search shows that you should not shave poms hair as there is a chance that the hair won't grow back again. I didn't realize how bad the situation until I got home and took the bandanna they put around her neck off. I've called immediately and asked why this action was taken and I've been told that the matting was so severe so they had no other options (NOT TRUE! There are many other options which are more time consuming). One thing that really hit my nerve was that the person on the call admitted that quoted: "oh I am fully aware that there is chance for the hair to not re-grow"!!! If you're aware, didn't you think this is important enough to consult with the owner first??? Maybe I wanted to get second opinion or show the situation to the vet... Very disappointed!!! The stress that they're causing me now because of the situation can't be explained with words. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ANY COST!

My quiet little Shih-poo may be every dog groomer's worst nightmare. Contrary to the usual cooing…read morefrom his grandparents and other random senior citizens, groomers seem, well, somewhat exasperated by him. Sometimes it was a dismayed comment, "what a little monkey your dog is", which is particularly upsetting for the less obvious reason that I had indeed settled for dog instead of actual monkey. Or, an admonishing, "it took 3 of us to groom him" which invariably follows the unspoken: better leave bigger tip. Fortunately, a few years ago after giving up on another Yorkville groomer, I discovered Pawfect Spa. The space is clean and bright and the staff are friendly, but what really got my attention is that the owners are not just shop owners, but also dog owners of seemingly high maintenance dogs! Trust me, this is quite rare in my experience. Though it's going back a few years since my dog's first groom at Pawfect Spa, I clearly recall my surprise when I meekly asked the usual, "uh, how was he?" and received the unusual, "he was great." Yes, he looked great, in fact, my partner couldn't resist referring to him as "toy dog", but what about all that monkey business? The groomer seemed perplexed by my concern for her sanity and I, for the first time didn't have to offer an apology! Still, when I returned the next time, I asked more directly, "was he difficult?" to which the groomer sweetly replied, "well, he doesn't like his paws touched, but one of us talks to him while the other grooms." And let me reiterate, the grooming IS great; actually, it's only gotten better over time and still not even the slightest grievance from any of the groomers. There has never been a cut, nick or scratch nor have I ever seen him returned to me with irritated bloodshot eyes. It did take a few visits to figure out the length I preferred on his limbs and face, but once we did, Elsie took photos and matched it each subsequent visit. Lastly, a couple of years ago, my dog started losing hair and Elsie suggested he get checked out for Cushing's Disease. I did, and well, she had totally called it. If Elsie was my vet, she would have saved me almost $800 for various tests that simply confirmed what she had suspected. It's been a relief to find a dog spa that I can trust and unlike previous groomers, I can genuinely say that I don't fret when my dog is with Elsie and her staff. I highly recommend and will keep going back!
