Not sure why the manager is not more proactive about getting additional support at the cash when a line develops, but it never misses- each and every time I come here, which is every week or so- there's a line up of 5+ customers. Aside from this annoyance, I have to say I quite like this location because it's large, well organized, well stocked and feels clean when you walk in as compared to some other PetSmart locations I have gone to. The staff are friendly, and helpful. *I have seen other customer reviews regarding grooming/pet boarding experiences which is quite disturbing and unacceptable to say the least- I have never used their boarding or grooming services so my review is not about that. This is a review for the training and grooming services, and nothing else. Grooming: I've pretty much only had Candace groom my dog since he was only 3 months old (he's now almost 2 and I try to take him every 2-3 months or so). I tried one other groomer once, and it just wasn't the same. My dog loves Candace and gets excited to see her. Candace has an amazing attitude and energy and it's always a pleasure when I bring my dog in to see her. My dog has major separation anxiety, as many COVID dogs do, and while he still looks back at me when she leads him inside, I have confidence that she'll take care of him. I've recommended Candace to anyone that asks me where my dog was groomed, and I will recommend her to anyone reading this. Training: First, Beata is great at reading and interpreting the dogs' actions, and it almost looks like magic sometimes when she is able to get the puppies to do as she says. When it's time for you to do it yourself, however, you immediately realize it's not so easy. The training programs go through standard obedience behaviours - sit, down, stay, focus, walking next to you, come, heel, etc. One thing to keep in mind is that these packages are for group classes, meaning you won't get much 1 on 1 time with Beata during the class. This means she's really only trying to teach us how to train our dogs, rather than training our dogs directly. This is important because, after all, Beata's not there when we go home. Although my pup isn't perfectly obedient, I know that's because I didn't keep up with some of the learnings at home, and not because of anything lacking from Beata. I was really happy with the time she gave me when I had specific questions about my dog's behaviour. Beata can seem curt sometimes, especially if she sees you doing something that isn't appropriate (e.g., constantly tugging on the leash to try to get the dog to move), but it's nothing personal and has more to do with ensuring you act properly toward the dog. I'd recommend these packages as long as you understand what you're getting - the classes are more for you to learn how to teach your dog effectively, and not for Beata to train your dog for you. read more

I have purchased gift cards online at Petsmart .ca However the phone app does not provide grooming service options . I went online to purchase the gift cards and tried to redeem it for services the next day . The website - not the phone app Does not provide options to redeem your gift cards. I called customer service and spoke to the supervisor and shee suggested Ipay for the full grooming service using my credit card????? Why would I do that when I already purchased gift cards????? Her response was they need to investigate why I am not able to make an online purchase with my gift card . For the inconvenience she offered my $5 coupon when I spend $40???? What an insult !!!! They put me thru to the grooming line then the grooming line says theyneed to put me thru to the store . When they put me thru the store manager / store leader " Amy". PetSmart online is absolutely the worst packing of a shipped order I have ever received from a pet food store! I ordered a case lot of 24 cans of cat food from Petsmart. It was shipped from western Canada to Eastern Canada where I live and it arrived in a thin paper mailer pouch that was ripped in 2 spots and every single can was dented some badly because it wasn't shipped as a 24 can case lot but loose cans. Just unbelievable the level of incompetence and lack of care in shipping what was an expensive brand of cat food. I am sure Merrick would be very disappointed in how their product was shipped to a petsmart customer. Very unprofessional. My recommendation is never order any pet food from Petsmart online as they don't put any care in how they package their products. I have seen many reviews like mine. I just did my first curbside pick-up there today and it was pretty bad. A middle-aged blonde woman in a construction vest was very rude to me and kept swearing when she came outside and couldn't find the car she was looking for immediately... Their instructions were unclear (the set of instructions in the confirmation email I got was different from the ones they had posted at the front door). I understand this is a stressful time, but as someone who is also an essential worker (I work at a vet clinic), and who is also providing curbside pick-up services, I found this odd. There was only 5 people waiting and she wasn't the only one working....McDonalds employees have like 10 people waiting for their food on a regular day at lunch time, haha. read more

search on google about Aspen the service dog. Aspen died in their care and they had the audacity to cover themselves up instead of coming clean and apologizing (not like that'll change anything). Not only that, but they only bothered to give 5000 for vet bills when it didn't even cover all costs. Aspen was diagnosed with pneumonia. They didn't give her the right care and in return, she suffered. Aspen was not only a pet, but was a service dog trained to save his owner's life. He deserved so much more than what these people did to him. I used to work for Petsmart and I know first hand how terrible they can treat animals. The store I worked for had animals dying weekly that were supposed to get sold. They never hire right staff -- purely just young people who passed their personality tests online. They're not trained right and they get shoved false information down their throats every two weeks with their video training. Ex. to try to get pet parents to buy royal canin. Excuse me, but most food in that store are terrible quality, not to mention royal canin which has a bunch of fillers & that has a huge marketing scheme that tells people to buy dog food specially made for their breed (pure BS). Please do research. All in all, this company is terrible & covers themselves up. Hundreds of dogs get injured under their care in not only their Petshotel but also in their salons. I have been meaning to write this review for some time now about the PetSmart Hotel at the Etobicoke location and time just kept getting away from me due to my late work hours. What prompted me to finally sit and write this was seeing an article online about a recent death at this location of a service dog who was staying at the PetSmart Etobicoke North Queen location. My 2 year old dog stayed at the Etobioke PetSmart Hotel many times but the last few times it was just one bad experience after another. One too many incidents to deter me from bringing my dog there again. My dog was well known at the PetSmart Hotel Etobicoke location. They knew how much energy my dog had and they also knew I was never going leave my dog there overnight if the daycare service they offer was booked up because if it was booked up, I was aware that my dog would just have to sit in a kennel all day with a few 5 minute outings for pees and poops a day and only a 1/2 hour per day play time with a staff member. My dog has way too much energy to only play 1/2 hour per day and on my last visit there I booked my 2 year old dog for a couple of overnight stays with the daycare package as I ALWAYS do. The same package I get every single time he stayed there. In fact my first question before booking overnight stays is "do you have any openings in your day care before I book?" Again they are aware of my dogs energy and they know I would never ever leave him there if daycare was not available. When I went to pick up my dog after his last stay there I was told that my dog was not allowed to play with the other dogs in daycare while he was there due to his papilloma (wart) on his lower lip and that he was in his kennel the whole time while he was there and that he was only out for his pees and poops and 1/2 hour playtime but because he had so much energy the one day they increased it to 1 hour. 1 hour of play only then cooped up????? What???? Quarantine and no phone call????? Nobody at the Etobicoke PetSmart Hotel called me to let me know that my dog was not going to be able to leave his kennel and even when I had called to check on him (I always call) the staff didn't even mention to me that he was not in daycare. Instead they told me he was having fun and eating all his food. I cried so much when I picked him up because I took the blame for the cruelty he had to endure. A 2 year old medium size dog so full of energy cooped up in a kennel for 3 days and not one phone call to me to let me know he was in quarantine!!!!!! Keep in mind that all pets are checked by staff before being taken in to the hotel to ensure they are able to play with other dogs and to also ensure they don't have any cuts or open wounds. Why would they not tell me then that he would be cooped up????? I was in such a state of disbelief and needed some clarification so that same day I called and I spoke with a staff member over the phone. She apologized and said she did not know why I wasn't called and that someone should have definitely let me know. I mentioned to her how in the past few stays there, that my dog's treat, which were labeled by me with instructions reading "2 per night" were never all used up and that they are his favorite night time treats and I also mentioned my concern about the excuse of their under-staffing situation would sometimes have my dog waiting to get in to day care after dropping him off. She (the female staff member) told me they were under staffed on many occasions and they do everything the can with the staff they have available to try to keep the pets happy. Her exact words "you know how big corporations are, all they care about is making money and it is not our fault that we are understaffed. We try to do the best we can with what we have" I never brought my dog there again. Now I read about this incident where a dog who was sick at the Etobicoke PetSmart Hotel location died. Why did the staff not call the owner to let him know his dog was not well? Who do these people think they are playing with an animals life and human emotions. I really hope the owner of the poor dog that passed away goes after them so that this doesn't happen to another poor innocent animal again. I also hope the owner reaches out to me if I can be of any assistance to him. What a shame. This all comes down to mismanagement by an under qualified manager and a corporation like PetSmart cutting corners to make a quick buck. That manager there is just awful and her boss is not any better either. I am still waiting for a call from him to clarify things which is another reason why I waited so long to write this review. I guess it all comes down to 1 thing. They know if they call us to let us know there is a problem with our pets, that we will pick them up and I guess they just don't want to lose out on cash by having an early pick up. Bad service, bad customer experience. when doordash cancels your order, no one informs or contacts you. PETsMART said it is your problem and you have to call them yourselves. their contact center is based in the US and they have different processes. the associate suggested to order online and ship , it will arrive in 1-2 business days. when I called the Canadian store, they said 2-5 days. when you think your order is canceled, it was NOT. it is a horror show. the Richmond Hill store has over-worked associates because they have NO patience to deal with the customer. This PetSmart is the closest one by my workplace. It's a part of Etobicoke that I do not know well. The store is tucked away in an area with a number of box stores and eateries. Needless to say, I need to go back to visit everything else. I have two betta fish now (don't worry -- they are not in the same tank together, or I would not even be talking about pet stores!) and was doing some browsing for accessories. The selection of betta fish was okay. I didn't see any fish that I had wanted here. The aquarium accessories were standard. If you have a dog, there are a bunch of different services that are impressive. Many dog owners were walking their dogs outside the store, as there are some grass patches. The parking lot also has poop bags, so you can poop and scoop after your pet. I'd come back here when I need more supplies for my fish. When I do buy something, I will adjust my review accordingly. Beyond disappointed in PetSmart. They say they are all about the well-being and health of our pets, but when it comes down to it they don't care. I have a note from our vet saying they don't want to give my dog the rabies shot as my dog is in remission for Thrombocytopenia, so now they will not allow my dog to go to the groomers where she was actually enjoying and loving people. Bella is a rescue dog who was abused. She does not trust many people. To find someone she does trust was amazing. Rabies shot could reactivate the Thrombocytopenia, which could then kill her, it almost did already and she fought so hard to survive and we fought with her, Bella is my everything. And for PetSmart to say they are all about what is best for our furbabies is an absolute lie. Some humans can't get vaccinated so arrangements are made. Now come on PetSmart get your act together. If you are truly about what is BEST for our furbabies then you would not deny Bella or expect her to risk her life to get groomed. read more

I can't say ive been to many petsmarts, but this location sets the standard for the company as a whole. this location being almost brand new is absolutely spotless and I've never found a mess while walking up and down any of the aisles. the staff are super friendly, eager to please, and super knowledgeable. having experience's pj pet stores and the awful smell with not taking care of animals after they have "accidents" I can say that this store has the cleanest smell I've ever come across. because of this, this location will be my go-to for all pet stuff. I say this because I have 3 other pet stores that are much closer to home, but this one makes the shopping experience, worth going out of the way. read more

However my low star rating and complaint stems from a purchased product that was not carefully examined when another customer returned it. I purchased a fish tank at full price. When box was opened at home, several items were missing from the tank (filters, glass top, clips, adapter) and the tank itself had algae grime all over it. Would recommend that anyone in charge of returns be more diligent as this was a major inconvenience to return and replace during a time in the pandemic where in-store capacity is limited and line-ups are endless. read more

I took both of my dogs this afternoon to have their nails trimmed and had one of their nails cut so short it was almost cut to her pad. She's a Doberman mix, so her nails are black. Clearly the young girl had little to no training on trimming nails of dogs with dark coloured nails my dog bled for 3 hours off and on after the trimming. We ended up at the vet, because the corn starch we were told to use to help stop the bleeding did not help for longer than 10 minutes. She started throwing up after the first 2 hours and lost quite a bit of blood. She was sleeping almost the entire time after the vet, with the exception of any time I had to add more corn starch to stop the bleeding. Since returning from the vet clinic, she has been asleep practically the entire time and is still sleeping as I type this. She has only woken up to get a drink of water once and ate maybe a quarter of her bowl for dinner. Please, everyone, do yourselves a favour and stay away from the location near Sherway Gardens. Please also refer to the reviews about the dog who had passed because of complications from staying at their PetHotel. When I brought this up to the manager this afternoon, he stuttered and regurgitated an obviously scripted response of, "That dog died because of a pre-existing condition." read more

We frequent this petsmart location regularly for their great selection on items. They are close to sherway, Walmart, and really convenient while trying to get all your shopping done and get the quick guilt gift for leaving the dog at home. We have had only good things to say about this PetSmart location until today....... We booked an appointment to get our 20 lbs dog's hair cut. The price quoted was $60 for the bath, haircut, cleaned ears and clipped nails. It sounded like a great deal. We went in for our appointment and were about to hand over our dog when we watched one of the very docile dogs being treated quite horribly. One of the groomers took it upon herself to yell at this dog and forcibly push it about 3 times while trying to work on it. We watched this behaviour and decided that this certainly wasn't how we wanted our dog to be treated. We understand training and the absolute need for dog discipline. Our dog is quite well trained and we are stern with him when the need arises. This was not a training moment nor an issue of discipline. It was simply a case of what appeared to be a frustrated employee make an already uncomfortable and stressful moment for a dog into an even more stressful one. We left and asked that our appointment be cancelled. I'm not here to tell you not to go to PetSmart or to tell you that I won't be going - I will go there and I will use the store for purchases. This one employee has given me as a potential customer a reason never to use the grooming, hotel or daycare services at this store. I did however, speak to a manger named Tammy who genuinely seemed to care about the issue and assured me that she would take corrective action. I gave this review a one star because this isn't a place where clients speak for themselves. They are dogs who love us and are loyal as hell. No one should teat them improperly. read more

Bad Experience: What was supposed to be a fun day for my son and choosing his first pet hampster today with the money he saved turned out to be a very bad experience. We went into the PetSmart in Kanata on his school break, we spoke to the associate Brianna about purchasing a dwarf hamster because my daughter bought one the previous week she informed us that they can't live together in the same cage. I said ok and asked some more questions, she then told me I would need to buy its own cage and she told me their cages ranged from $80-$100 I went to look at them, but then decided to check another stores website and I found a kit for $40. I went back to Brianna and told her we wanted to purchase the hampster and we were going to get the cage on the way home and she said NO, go do your shopping and come back. I told her that would not work for us because I needed to stop on my way home because my son needs to get back for his school. She said NO again and that was my only option. We ended up leaving and at this point my son was crying and I did not want to purchase from PetSmart but he was so upset that I decided to drive him home, go out by the cage then return back to buy it. Again I got Brianna and she was very rude asking my over and over did you buy a cage, I eventually responded back yes as I was signing my paperwork. First things first my son's experience was ruined because I ended up having to chose the hampster & secondly the treatment I received because I would not purchase the cage from her was unacceptable. Good and bad news here. This is our go to Petsmart for our french bulldog. We go here close to once per month to get his nails ground -- always available by walk in and we rarely wait long. They are very professional in the grooming department! Sales on dog food are always on here so check the website or Flipp app before going! We did board our dog here once for 2 nights when we got married and will never do it again. Our boy knows not to "eliminate" indoors and yet the bathroom process for dogs here is to be walked around a room to go to the bathroom (number 1 and number 2). My dog didn't poop for two full days as a result and no one thought to take him outside to see if he would go. This is a ridiculous policy to me, it was also the middle of summer so no reason not to take him out. We were very upset, the minute we left the PetsHotel he went in the parking lot, poor thing was holding it for a long time. read more

When my cat was alive (RIP, Emily). I really liked Petsmart. They had lots of great name brand foods, toys beds and basically everything a pampered pussy could want-- at great prices. Now that I am the owner of a fine feathered parrotlet, I find their avian selection to be lacking. This past weekend we went to look for a larger travel cage for Marvin-- something that we could actually use for a smaller cage to house him in when going places and bringing him with us, as he spends a lot of time out rather than locked up. They had nothing but big cages that were over $100. Not a lot of selection for food dishes with covers, either. If there's no cover, the bird can sit with his bum over the bowl and guess what---? Poop in it. Gross. It's nice that they have the in store pet grooming and the adoption center is nice, too. But I think Petsmart is better for dog and cat owners. If you have a smaller pet, you might do better at Pet Valu or Menagerie, which is where we usually shop for Marvin. read more

A convenient location just a short drive north of Sherway Gardens at the back end of the Home Depot/Walmart plaza in Etobicoke. It servicesa large cross section of East Mississauga, Etobicoke and west Toronto. Lot's of parking, but fair warning to those taking public transit, you'd be best to take a cab here as the walk/bike ride is longer than it looks. We did our initial shopping here for our French Bulldog puppy, and it certainly paid off big time, especially when we dropped the $20 on the puppy kit which pays out in dividends in discounts and deals over the duration of your puppies first year. Discounts on toys, beds, supplies, food, treats, classes and grooming! I found the staff here to be so-so in terms of their helpfulness, some are extremely knowledgable but with that comes some very strong opinions and I even detected a hint of condescension in some responses when I challenged them based on my own experience as a dog owner. The other side of the coin is employees who basically know squat about anything to do with pets. It's a fine line but you'll see what I'm talking about. I'm reserving judgement on their puppy classes and their grooming/PetsHotel services until we make use of them in the coming year. I'm hesitant based on the reviews given on them thus far, but we will see. Aside from the large selection and puppy pack, their rewards system is pretty awesome and saved us a solid $50 on our initial purchase of supplies. I am a big fan of this PetSmart location. Ever since I got my puppy last fall I have found the staff extremely helpful with questions and recommendations for my dog. I have used the Pet Hotel here a few times and my dog always seems super pumped to go & play with his doggie friends at the Doggie Daycare they offer also. Yesterday I took my dog for grooming and they did a fantastic job. I really like the fact that you can see what's going on in the grooming room. I want to make sure my dog is comfortable and not scared, and being treated properly and that is why I chose this place for grooming instead of another dog spa. It really makes a difference with staff that love dogs and it is extremely comforting to know that my dog will be well taken care of if I leave him there. It's also super convenient because it's a 5 minute drive from Pearson Airport so it's great they have a Pet Hotel that my dog can stay at when I am out of town. They have a pretty great selection of dog toys & treats & supplies. The only negative thing I have to say about them is they don't have very many clothes options for large dogs. What can I say, I like to dress my dog up in shirts sometimes and I can't find items large enough for him at this location. Everything else about the store is excellent. read more

I really can't complain. I took my dog here on a short notice as I needed to unexpectedly go to Los Angeles for eight days. The staff were comforting as I have never boarded my dog and I was quite nervous. We worked the schedule so that she could have grooming on the last day of her stay so she would be newly groomed and smelling fresh. They also gave her a day of one on one playtime on her last day of her stay. Food was complimentary which was helpful. Staff ensured us that she would be alright and that if I wanted I could call to check on her anytime during my time away. I did call to check her status a couple of times during the week. Staff told me she got a bit sick and they washed her blanket and toy which was nice. When we picked her up she looked so cute and happy! I felt comfortable knowing my pup was well cared for. All my life I have had animals, all kinds of animals ... from birds, mice, turtles, cats, dogs, rabbits and more. I am always on the look out for a pet store and now that I have my bunnies finding one seems even harder as I've mentioned before, finding bunny stuff is a real challenge. This pet smart is HUGE with an even bigger parking lot that I never have trouble finding a parking spot in. Located just off the 427 on Queen north this location has been here a while but I've only recently started frequenting it. Although they have a large selection for most animals I still find the small animals and rabbit inventory a little lacking. They do have my bunnies favorite Timothy hay stacks and many of their favorite treats like the National Geographic trail mix squares however they do not carry the Martins Timothy adult rabbit food which makes things a little tricky for me. They do however have the small bags of various hays and grasses that I love to throw in the mix to change things up for them. I'm not a fan of many of the so called "toys" any pet store seems to carry for rabbits. They charge you an arm and a leg for popcicle sticks glued together and dyed with food coloring; not only is it a rip off but I'm pretty sure they aren't the best for rabbits to consume. Either way I'm not taking the risk with my babes so I avoid most (not all) store bought toys. They have a decent selection of cages, cleaning supplies and cage accessories though and they do have a pet perks system.... I don't know specifics, my boyfriend has the account but I should look into it because they do have a lot of what I'm looking for I just wish they'd carry our preferred brand of bunny food. Customer service is usually pretty good I've found, they don't seem to push sales but are available when they're needed. It certainly doesn't hurt to see all the adorable animals visiting and they have a doggy day care and grooming in the back. You can see all the did playing and socializing in this glasses in area it's actually pretty cute, but be careful to watch out for the little puddle accidents that can happen with animals especially puppies. I have a Yorkie which is a non shedding type dog n they have extremely small faces that super hard to work with in terms of grooming . I have seen tons ugly Yorkie haircuts on the street but I have had the best luck myself at This location at grooming service by The lady called Mescedes who is the Yorkie Master at this Pet Smart! She does so many Yorkies so it's second nature for her n she frames their faces, chin, ears , jaws everywhere amazingly. I mean like Text book amazing. She literally gives Yorkie a model haircuts! Haircuts r super import at for Yorkies that is what literally frames faces. If they don't get cuts the fur grows to the floor. I have been approached by at least 4 ppl on the street asking me where I got the haircut. They go to downtown locations for $90-100 cut not as cute as mine. It was pure luck we found Mecedes, I live downtown there tons Yorkies I haven't see better haircut all year! My Yorkie has been getting soo many compliments on how cute he looks ! A lot groomers give genetic trim n does good clean ups around eye n eye brows, n some ppl do good clean up on the face but don't frame the face nice. but this lady really does give a better framing for the face. Yorkies have Hair(like human) Not fur . So they do NOT shed at all! When they r shaved their face is bald like a chiwawa. So all the fluffiness around face , n now the face , ear , back jaw loom is depends SOLELY on the groomer's skill . They only open till 5 pm so please try to book morning appointments! Because other ppl tend to drop off dogs at same time around lunch! N they tend to rush! (2pm appointment is the Latest app of the day!) they open 7am-5pm) so ur groomer is going to be exhausted all day by time time dealing with yr dog . I have done all 3 visits 1 at 12pm. 2 at 2pm. Only 1 of the 2 pm visit went very late due to we were 15 min late ! Then other dogs before us appointments were dropped off late n they opened up spot for walk in , then the appointment shows up . Then some earlier app took longer because the dog was squirmy so my dog would have to wait bit longer (like hair salon app) .!Things like that happen ! So book as early as possible n do NOt be late! I suggest show up 15 min early is even better because the doggie would jst go back immediately to bath n ready. It's REQUIRED to bring Vet vaccine file first time, once they r in file no need to bring again. Other ppl who gave this location a bad review because they have had good experiences in the past but somehow one time they had to wait longer is bit unfair. Because they all have to get bathed n blow dried, nail trimmed , tooth brushed before actual last hair groom. There is about 2 hrs prior pamper before actual hair trim. They do their body n neck trim first , because the noise of trimmer freaks out dogs a lot so they bring them back to relax n trim other dogs . Then bring the dog to front to trim their face n paws later, so they work in rotation in stead of doing the whole body trimming at once! So when they see their dog "barely started" it means the dog was bathed n blow dried already n might have been trimmed at parts. Also if there is delay at back shampooing or blowdrying they can cause front delay also. I recogmand dropping off yr dog at 9 or 10am on weekends that way he dog gets more detailed cuts n they take time without rushing through. I came here to look for a dog sweater as a gift. In the process of finding a sweater, I looked around at other things and asked questions. While the sweater selection was a bit picked over at this point in the season, the service was knowledgable and helpful. The store was clean, well-stocked, and well-organized. As dog owners came in with their dogs, everyone (including the dogs and staff of Persmart) seemed excited. When I checked out, the staff member who waited on me was curteous and professional. RIP Aspen! Google the story about Aspen the service dog. Aspen was dropped off healthy. Under the care of this location, Aspen became sick in the middle of the week long stay and PetSmart did not give Aspen veterinary attention. Aspen died shortly after being picked up! I go to this PetSmart on North Queen in Etobicoke with my dog Benjamin, just to see Beata, the Trainer. I have been going to this store for years. Not only is she extremely knowledgable and professional - she truly loves dogs and has a very unique talent of being able to communicate and relate to all. Clearly Beata loves her role and gives 100 percent! Benjamin adores her and pulls me towards her every time I enter the store. Beata makes both me and my dog feel very special. She always makes me feel welcome, takes the time to acknowledge us, and to inquire about Benny's health. She gives us helpful advice that we can follow to keep him safe, happy and healthy. Beata is willing to share her knowledge (and she has a wealth of information) - it is up to me to apply it to help Benny. This establishment blatantly disregards policies that result in the death and sickness of animals. I will never in my life ever recommend ANY PetSmart to anyone looking for grooming and or Boarding. when you say you will call when someones dog is getting sick or has done something alarming, like eating its bed, and you don't, that is a huge problem! you should feel safe leaving your animals with them and not come home to a sick or dying pet. they will not keep your pets safe. My original thought was to give this location two stars - but those two stars would be completely dedicated to the shopping experience only. I have been going here for years to purchase my dog/cat food, litter, toys etc. The prices have always been half decent and the options were good. The location is prime, right off of the QEW and the 427 is easy access and quite close to both Sherway Gardens and a plethora of other shops. There is always parking available, overall a great location. Now, to the grooming services. I had previously taken my 7 lb Malti-Poo in to have his teeth cleaned. The young lady scaled and brushed his teeth and treated him quite nicely (easy to tell as he is insanely anxious and starts shaking the minute he gets nervous). So, my partner and I decided we would take him back last week for grooming. I made an appointment and arrived in advance of my 2pm appointment. I met with the groomer, showed her a picture of his previous cuts to demonstrate exactly what I wanted, and agreed that he would be shaved to a specific length equally all over. The groomer told me that he would be ready around 5pm, and if she finished early, she would call me. Since I didn't get a phone call - I showed back up at 4:55pm. My dog was nowhere to be seen and the groomer was grooming a different dog and told me he would be a few more minutes. I told her that it wasn't a problem and agreed to grab a coffee and pay for the groom while I waited. I returned at 5:30pm, and still did not see him. The groomer saw me and went to the back room and brought him out and he had barely even been started! Long story short, I didn't leave the store until 6:20pm with my dog shaking like a leaf, since the groomer was rushing to finish, she was aggressive with him and did not complete him. When I asked for it to be corrected, they said they didn't have time - so the manager, Melissa, refunded the cost of the groom. I would be weary of going here for grooming as they take the dog to a back room which you cannot tour and they are left there for a long period of time. read more

This location is in a convergence of strip malls near Sherway Gardens which is tough to find if you don't know the area because its surrounded by highway ramps Also, its so busy here I would avoid it unless you are around early morning or any other slow period. read more

My dog recently stayed at the Etobicoke location for a one night hotel stay and a half day doggie day camp. And he came back to me with a terrible cough, which the vet diagnosed as kennel cough. He is up to date on all his vaccinations and is only 6 years old. This is not the first time he has stayed at PetSmart Etobicoke and every time he does he contracts kennel cough which causes him great distress and truly pains me to have to hear him coughing and in pain. He has also stayed at the Royal Pets Hotel and Spa for longer durations and has come back with a clean bill of health. I really don't understand how a nationwide chain has this problem. Can they not monitor the dogs correctly or is it more of a case of negligence. I think it's ridiculous that I am paying $70+ for my dog to stay at this facility and he comes back to me sick. Now he has to be on a course of antibiotics and that is expensive ($500) and completely unnecessary. I will definitely be looking into other accommodations for my next short vacation. read more
