They have almost everything BUT, the poor small rodents are kept in really small cages. The hamsters are over fed and look unhealthy, the guinea pigs don't have enough space to move around. Pretty clean & organized location. It's really spacious as well with great selection of inventory. It's located in a plaza with a decent amount of food spots so it's pretty convenient. One of their staff members, Dave, is super friendly & helpful. They have fish and other small animals as well as cats for adoption at the shop. Checkout can be slow if it get busy since there's usually just 1 cash open. They also offer grooming, pet training services, etc. parking is also pretty easy as there's a huge parking lot. read more

Convenient location off Kennedy just south of the 401. The weekday staff are extremely helpful. I stopped by mid-day on a Wednesday to try coats on my oddly-sized dog, and immediately had one staff member guiding me to the coats (which were displayed in three separate areas), and then another helped me try them on my dog. The weekend staff are a little less so, but it's so much more busy that it wouldn't be fair to complain that they aren't handing out as many dog treats when there are 15 people waiting in line. The trainer, Avery, is great with both the people and dogs, and allows people to change classes if/when necessary. My dog is so fond of her that she always jumps up to look for her whenever we walk by the classroom! Big box dog training can be hit or miss, but she's fantastic! read more

This Kennedy Commons plaza location of PetSmart is huge with lots of parking. I'm here to investigate the startup cost of owning a pet turtle which could live some 25 years. Yes, this according to store team member Joanne that took about 10 minutes to answer a dozen of my questions. She made sure I understood the reality of this type of pet compared to a dog or cat. In the end, I felt appreciated as a potential customer and will certainly come here to make a purchase. Other staff were also helpful and courteous. read more

This is a fairly convenient location right off the highway and the staff are pretty nice compared to a few other locations I've been to. They do seem to run out of stock on a few rabbit items so it does get a bit frustrating. I wouldn't say that's the store's fault by any means. I do wish they would be provided with more stock on things because the next location is always just so far away. I've actually begun to shop at other pet stores and finding better quality items and better pricing. Petsmart needs to start paying a bit more attention to the brands they carry for small animals. It sucks to constantly see shelves and shelves of goodies for cats and dogs but only on isle for rabbits/guinea pigs/hamsters. The brands are very North American and generic, not even the best nutritionally for your pet. They also put their animals in really small fish tank like cages. I wasn't going to let my pup's paws take the painful punishment of a salted sidewalk so I stopped at this PetSmart to pick up a package of Pawz booties. I often go to PetValu instead since it's usually in more convenient locations vs navigating through a big box store but they never have my dog's size. I was hoping it would be different at this PetSmart. It was pretty empty on a weekday afternoon. The store was clean and tidy with things in proper places on the shelves and no accidents (or smelly hints of accidents) either. We first tried to find the booties on our own but after perusing the aisles with no luck, we finally had to ask someone. She was quick to point out which aisle it was in but let us know that since it was the end of the season, they had very limited sizing and weren't going to stock anymore. They had just one pack of the XLs left which was pretty lucky for me. We took our time in the store and saw that they carry a wide range of Chi dog products. We also checked out the small animals section which had a lot of sleepy hamsters that were in cages that looked clean enough. There was a large fish section that had a pretty knowledgeable seeming staff member that was helping someone out. There were also a lot of beta fish in cups in more than one section in the store. The store isn't as big as some of the other PetSmart's I've been too but I was able to find everything I needed on this visit. read more

Today I had a pretty appalling experience at this PetSmart. I was checking out at the cashier with a bag of oxbow rabbit pellets for my pet rabbit. As my girlfriend and I were paying the cashier smuggly asked if we had pet rabbits. I thought well duh, we're buying rabbit food. I answered yes we have a pet rabbit with a smile. The cashier then says, "oh is that rabbit fur?" As she points to my faux fur lining on my jacket. I'm like "uhhh.." cashier then goes on to give backhanded compliments "oh it's beautiful, I love it" then goes on to say " it's beautiful but I can't imagine wearing dog, I love dogs". "It's not rabb-" "oh I love it it's beautiful" WTF At this point it doesn't matter if I'm wearing faux fur, real fur, alligator skin or rare albino giraffe skin. You're a cashier, you don't say stuff like that to a paying customer. I understand everyone has their own beliefs but you're a a cashier and you have one job. You don't say things like that to your customers. I wonder if she makes those underhand snarky remarks to every customer with any semblance of fur on them? It's a smaller store, but they seem to have everything. Found what I needed quickly and there were a lot of sales going on. The pets for adoption and the training area seem to be tucked away. Came here to get my unfriendly and very vocal dog groomed, so you can imagine my surprise when the phone rang asking to extend her stay as she'd been behaving so well, she was chosen to be the dog model for a demo group that morning! On top of that, they decided to further her discount just for being a part of the whole thing that it was just dumbfounding to say the least! I initially spoke with Rayelle who'd be taking care of my dog and couldn't be happier with the results. I bought a halfmoon betta fish recently. It has been a decade since I last had a pet fish. I was inspired to get one after visiting the Seattle Aquarium, but on a much smaller scale. Anyway, my aquarium kit came with betta food. After making sure that my betta's environment was comfortable temperature-wise, I tried feeding him the betta pellets. He didn't like them. I got concerned that he didn't want to eat anything. I then remembered that my previous betta loved freeze-dried bloodworms. So, I visited the closest PetSmart by my home. It's funny that I didn't know about this store until I did an online search. I am way too focused on food and Chapters in this area. This store had a larger variety of betta fish than the store where I bought my pet. I managed to get a bottle of bloodworms for $5. Cheap! The store is clean and the fish section is decent. I probably need a gravel cleaner next, so I'll be back here often. I fed my betta when I got home. He loved the bloodworm. I am relieved that he finally ate some food! (60) read more

Pretty consistent with the other petsmart stores! I find myself always here cause it's the closet to where I live and they always email me good coupons. The dog trainer, Madison, is awesome. Chose puppy classes here for our new addition to family. We started going at 14 weeks, which many of the small well reviewed puppy classes cut off. Not disappointed. We went for puppy socialization. Classes are pretty full anywhere from 6-10 dogs I've seen. Madison is young, experienced, energetic and really good with the dogs. You can see how much she really loves them. read more

Also the staff are not as helpful and friendly as I remember them being in the past. I didn't see any faces that I recognized. For that reason I'm knocking the rating down a star. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I come here. There are just so many random and fun pet stuff to look at in this huge store. While the prices aren't amazing, they more than make up for it with the variety. From furry mammal stuff to fishy and reptilian stuff, they have it all. I've used their grooming services to trim my cat's nails. I've called around to different stores, and only a few have a cat specialists on staff for nail trimming. They were kind, friendly and efficient. They were so fast that it was all over before kitty knew what was going on. By the way, cat nail trims are only available during the weekdays. There's also a cat adoption centre at the front of the store, and sometimes, Toronto Cat Rescue holds adopt-a-thons at this location. read more

This is the only place I take my dog to get groomed. Katie does an excellent job - she listens to what we want and always delivers. She is so sweet to my little pup and is always kind and gentle with her. We've walked in a few times to get her nails clipped and always request for Katie to do them. Make sure you book your appointment well in advance if you have a specific preference on who you want to groom your dog as weekend spots book up very quickly! read more

Where do I begin? I always go to this store for all my fur babies needs. It's quite huge and hard to find what I was looking for, but I do find it eventually. I had booked a grooming appointment 4 weeks ago and appreciated that I received a reminder/confirmation call yesterday afternoon. Shockingly, I received a call at 6:25 am this morning advising that my appointment had been cancelled. Normally, I am a nice person but waking up to that kind of call brought out the worst in me especially being sick and cranky. I feel bad because I couldn't help myself but the gentleman at the end of the line was very professional even though I could tell by his tone he was going to lose his cool with me. He just told me at the end the end of the conversation all he said to me is call back later in the morning to work something out. Taking his advice considering I couldn't find another groomer readily available for today or tomorrow, I called in and I was squeezed in for an appointment for 11:30 am. The assistant manager did warn me that my fur baby may take a little longer to be groomed than usual since we are squeezing him in on a fully booked day and she gave me a small discount for the inconvenience of cancelling my initial appointment. I can honestly say I really appreciate the quality customer service provided at the store. I know some days it may be hit or miss depending on the employee's mood at that moment. Went here yesterday for the first time! I took transit to get here, so when I got off of 95 and went to the location it said, it wasn't there until 10 minutes later I found out i was in back of the building but overall had a fun experience! Fell in love with a female short haired Syrian hamster (grayish colour) and also these 2 guineas they had for adoption, didn't speak to the employees so I'm not sure what that's like but I'm happy that they have great care for each animal read more

The customer service at this Petsmart is awful! The only pro about this Petsmart is the new renovations. I go to this pet smart because it's close to my home. My last visit to this pet smart was very uneasy though... I saw the cats at the front of the store and I noticed one of the cats nose was dirty and had some sort of liquid coming out of it. I immediately told the cashier and she gave me a blank stare!!!!! And said "OH" .... my heart was broken for the cat because I have cats of my own and I would hate to see my cats in that kind of condition. Does this Petsmart even care about their animals ??? I'm super concerned about the cats at this location. I understand that they're at the front of the store in their cages because you want them to be adopted but can't you guys have some sort of compassion for these animals??? Today I was to buy a quick treat during a dog walk and immediately on entering the store I notice three employees trying to pick the lock on the office/supply room door which they had locked themselves out of. They were very busy trying to break into the office. There was only one cashier on duty when I went up to the cash and there was a very long line up of people (maybe 7 or 8 people waiting to checkout,) and the store was very warm. I was waiting and waiting for my turn then after about 10 min in line (I was next to pay by this time,) another cashier (from the group of three associates trying to pick the lock,) finally came to open another cash...Finally, however as I was next in line at my cash I decided to just stay where I was. My turn came to pay and I paid with a $20 bill. Well the cashier had no change....she called for someone to come....no one came....we waited and waited...she paged three times....finally she paged for any manager to come get her change. This all took over 10 more minutes. So now this is twenty minutes in a line trying to pay for a $5 item. I was livid by this time. When the manager (named Victoria,) finally did come she was very smug and instead of trying to diffuse the situation, she just smirked at me and said "sorry my wage budget for the month of January is very low" When I suggested that instead of having associates trying to break into a locked office she should maybe have them attend to customers, she got very defensive. I told her I was going to email her head office and tell them about the bad customer service and she accused me of starting trouble and kicked me out of the store..Seriously ? She has a customer waiting over 20 min to purchase an item and then tries to deflect the issue by placing the blame on her wage budget and the customer ? ?? All they did at the end of the grooming was telling me that my dog was trying to bite them and that he was a bit aggressive and that they will not take him again unless he took training classes (trying to convince me to get him "trained" there maybe? i buy almost all my supplies for my retirever PetSmart. The employees are very helpful and knowledgable. If they don't have what you are looking for, they will give suggestions on where to find it. Dog loves this store as she is always making new friends with the other dogs there. Employees pat her, and talk to her, so of course she wants to go back again and again. Also what other store are you going to find that stands behind what they sell and offers exchanges or refunds even after a month or so. I might sometimes have to pay a little more for what I am getting but I have never left this store unsatisfied. read more

The people who work there actually seem to adore dogs and other animals, but my dog always seems to hate going there and basically can't wait to leave the building when I come back to pick her up. I have taken my dog here twice and will not return after the last time I took here, my dog who is normally extremely friendly and loving, ran out of the store across the parking lot and almost onto the highway had someone not caught her in time.
