I am kind of excited for my dog that a Petsmart opened up another store in Markham. The pet food selections are just meh if you are looking for holistic, natural and organic food for your pets. But my dog just love wandering around the store, checking out everything. Great for smaller dogs or when it is raining. Look for special pricing for PetPerks members that is free to join. Staffs still in training...

Cute hamsters for sale.

Wellington Veterinary Animal Hospital - This is how my boy is lying down now - Sat Oct 8, 2022.

Wish I could make this a -NEGATIVE star because that's how HORRIBLE this clinic is! Our strictly…read moreindoor cat escaped Tuesday and apparently a woman who was known to this clinic, struck him with her car in her driveway. We were looking for him all day and night. I am not on FB but a friend is and on Wednesday he checked FB and found a picture of my found cat. I wrote the woman who posted and she said she dropped him off at this clinic. That she found him injured under her car. She said he looked like he had an injured leg. What she didn't tell me was that she was the one who struck him and when I asked her how she got him out from under her car she blocked my friend's profile. But I took screenshots before that happened. I called the clinic on Wednesday night after we returned home from another search and they said they had my cat there so I told them I would come right now to get him. They then told me he wasn't there and the SPCA took him with them and would return with him the next morning at 8am. I could get him then. So that's what I did. Thursday at 8am I was at their clinic while the 'SPCA' was on route to return my cat. I waited until 9 am when they told me my cat was in the back now and if I paid the bill in full I could take him home. I paid the bill and they gave me my cat. He smelled like feces. I had to bathe his bottom half twice. My cat could not walk without almost falling over on his side. I thought maybe it could be from the anesthesia they gave him for the 2 x-rays. We carried him to the litter box when he seemed to want to get up. The next day (Friday) he was in the same condition so I called the clinic and they said they couldn't see him for 4 days because they were booked. I told them my invoice shows a prescription was issued but I don't have one so I would like that prescription or a prescription for his pain. They argued with me and said they could squeeze him in between appt's on Saturday but I would be charged their 'emergency rate' since they were squeezing him in as an 'emergency'. I said he didn't need to be seen again for the same issue. He needs the prescription they wrote on my invoice. They were rude and said they would call 'sometime' on Saturday regarding the prescription. They never called. I had to call again and it took a lot to get them to send me copies of the x-rays because they said the SPCA had to agree to let me have them. Excuse me? He's MY CAT!!! I have him in my possession and I was the one who took responsibility for the invoice. I then had my vet call them and that was when I finally received not only the x-rays (which look fine) but also the notes they made of both myself and my cat. Seriously. I think people who go to this clinic should ask to review their pet's file because the staff there make extremely snide and rude comments about owners. Additionally, they fabricate stories that are complete untruths. The staff at this clinic KNEW my cat was hit by a car and they knew he was hit by the woman who brought him in. They did not tell me he was struck by a vehicle. They did not tell me SPCA never took him and that he was always at their clinic in the back yet they were refusing to release him to me even though I am the rightful owner. On Saturday, they put the vet on the line - Dr. Redford and he was a bit nicer but still shared the same attitude as his staff. He did not address any of the issues I had regarding his staff lying to me and also for sending my cat home KNOWING he was struck by a vehicle and was in serious pain, without a prescription. He had the medication made ready for my boy and my husband picked it up. I would strongly advise people to STAY AWAY from this clinic. They only care about the $$$ and clearly not about the animal. My cat went 2 days without pain meds. I had gone out the day he returned home to get him CBD oil (didn't help much). Had I known he was struck by a vehicle I would have absolutely expected him to have some sort of pain and anti-inflammatory medication. My cat is 17 years old. He may not mean anything to this clinic, but he is like a child to me. We were ready to bring him to our vet to be checked over which was why I asked for the x-rays - then just had my vet ask for them. I am hopeful my boy will be fine by Tuesday. If he isn't, then we will bring him to our vet who actually cares more about animals than the thickness of his wallet.

I never checked reviews until my vet told me he wouldn't see me anymore because I would prefer to…read moredeal with him then his staff. After seeing Dr Redford for 17 years and telling everyone to see him - he told me to go else where because earlier this summer a friends dog fell out of my car of Hwy 48 north of Virginia beach. It was just awful hearing him yelp and skid off the road thankfully everyone swerved to avoid hurting him - he landed on the side of the road- we immediately stopped and ran to him in complete fear and panic and the dog was just shocked - he's a 1 year old black lab and we are sure he slipped maybe he went too far out the window and gravity took over, it just happened so fast and the officer who helped us called Wellington to tell them of the Emegency. How often does a police officer do that? Exactly. It was an hour before closing, the other vet who works there was there not Dr Redford. His staff handled the situation horribly- they didn't care they saw him walking and just dismissed us told us to wait in the car - covid or not - they were cold, had no empathy or compassion towards the dog never mind is- they were too busy doing nothing however, once the dog was seen and medication provided and they said he was ok it was a huge relief and we left on good terms. I never yelled at them or insulted them or mistreated them I was advocating which is what I do best and after ranting about Wellington I was so disappointed. "When the cats away the mice play" old sayings have truth! To cover their own asses the staff complained about me! Dr Redford assumes I mistreated his staff and said he wouldn't see MY 17 year old cat who's been his patient since she was 8 weeks old. I was devastated, no matter what I said I got "I can can recommend this vet and that vet wholeheartedly" So I searched then on here and saw what people had to say and how they went above and beyond in emergency situations and then I read the reviews about Wellington and thought "wow I'm begging to stay when my loyalty and my cat deserve to be given proper customer service. Never mind an apology for their lousy emergency treatment." The reviews are right - it's always about money with everyone but Dr Redford. He is a very good vet he is kind and honest and I love him and all the years I took my cat to him but those team members should have been ready and should have been expecting us and should have spent more time caring about the patient then doing the opposite and making copious notes showing now compassion or empathy towards the entire ordeal/ as much faith as Dr Redford bestows in them just think it's a job. When dr Redford is in, the staff do everything to appease him and no issues but when he's not there I commented earlier. Sadly my cat had nothing to do with anything and he just kicked out his biggest fan. Based on the reviews maybe my cat and I will be appreciated elsewhere and maybe my cat will get the care she deserves. So much for loyalty. I wish you well Dr Redford, I hope you pay more attention to how your staff treat your customers because if they had your ethic I'd still be there. Maybe it's a gift.

We were really excited to find this place for our two dogs. We left them for 5 days on a trip out…read moreof province. One dog was a senior and the other dog was a 2 year old very gentle/shy dog. We wanted the younger dog to socialise and that's what we specifically chose their location. The older dog seemed very happy when we picked him up. We were told there were no issues, but we noticed the younger dog wouldn't look at us and he was acting strange. When we got home, he was shaking and we didn't notice until the second day in the morning that he had a bite mark on his snout. He wasn't allowing us to come near his face. We called them immediately and it was busy so they suggested that maybe the older dog had bitten the younger dog when that has never happened in all the times we've had them. In any case, the manager did call us back and apologised and said to call back to discuss this, but we didn't. My husband was too upset. However, the staff is super friendly and they seem to love all the dogs. I just think for the safety of the pets, there should be cameras installed so that if something unexpected happens, the pet owners should be able to review the recordings. We realised that our younger dog should not be in any kennel setting as anything could happen (accident or not) Despite being on anti anxiety medications during this time, he came back really upset, so we will instead have people stay in our home when we go away.

Our…read moreveterinarian told us that we should get our dog professionally groomed to take care of the dense undercoat. She recommended us to the Grooming Shop. The cool thing is that the shop is actually in a shared unit with Mount Joy Animal Clinic which means that our vet was able to call the grooming shop owner and let her know our dog's problems directly so we didn't have to worry about miscommunication on our part. There are (kind of) separate entrances from the front that go directly to the reception of the respective establishment. Right now because of the pandemic you cannot enter the grooming salon. There is a sign posted on the door that instructs you to call the number posted which reaches reception who will send someone out to collect your pet. On the day of the appointment, Isabella greeted us outside the shop and went over our dog's special concerns or allergies. We highlighted the part about the hot spot and she confirmed our vet had told her about it. She examined our dog and pointed out some grooming tips based on what she saw. Then she went over what she would be focusing on in the grooming process (bathing, where she'd be trimming, what kind of shampoo she would use, etc.), gave us a time estimate, and let us know she'd give us a call when the fur baby was ready for pickup. It took close to 5 hours before we got the call. At pickup Isabella let us know about any problems she encountered. Payment right now is being done by e-transfer to minimize interaction. The pricing is on par with what I normally pay at PetSmart which was a pleasant surprise since it's more of a boutique groomer. Also I do feel like the service was better since it was more about my dogs skin and comfort versus just getting dogs in and out at a store like PetSmart. I was really happy with how the grooming went. My dog's fur is absolutely silky smooth and the cut was perfect! Her paws and butt fur were trimmed really well and she's almost got a corgi butt despite being a golden retriever. She's been really itchy recently but she hasn't been scratching since she got back so I think the aloe shampoo must have helped her. So pleased with the care she received today.
