PetSmart was having Valentine's photo shoot event on Feb 14 exact the Valentine's Day @12-2pm. We tried to register online, but somehow it didn't work. So we just found a location that closed to us. So we arrived around 1:15pm, that was not a long lineup, and the photo taken place was decorated and themed festively. The staff was really nice and helpful. Due to 3 cats too much work, we didn't bring them here. We completed the photo shoot and got some treats for our cats. There was a $5 coupon valid only this weekend. I didn't read it in store, I figured out after home, so I have to go to the store again the next day. At least, I got them some extra treats. And some specific brands earn 10x points. Thank you PetSmart for this thoughtful idea that we could take pictures with our little friends and get some discounts. read more

Everytime I go here the all the fishes are either sick/dead & today one of employee denied me service assuming I didn't have the right materials for a fish I was trying to purchase. The cashier was very unprofessional, lazy & was mumbling curse words was I asked for service. I highly recommend buying fish from other pet stores shop at Petsmart ONLY if you need food, toys or any other materials for your pets but don't buy live animals here read more

I feel so bad for their beta fish, a lot of them aren't in good health & each visit I'd always find a dead one on their display shelf. These fish have a very wonderful personalities, as a pet parent it is so sad to see the lack of care such big company present's to the customer. read more

I've had my rabbit for over 7 years now and PetSmart is usually where I'll go to get his basic supplies of hay, oxbow pellets, and litter box filling. Most Petsmarts I visit have horrible service, misinformed staff, terrible conditions, dusty product, etc etc, but this is the first petsmart I've visited multiple times and actually had a good experience each time. As an exotic pet's owner, I don't recommend going to petsmart for snacks and such just because the company does not carry the best brands. They carry very generic North American brands that do not necessarily use what's best for your pet. But they're great for picking up your hay, bedding, and toys. This Petsmart is usually very well stocked and the staff actually know what they're talking about. When one of the girls there wasn't sure, she told me to give her a minute to get a staff who she know was more familiar with what I wanted to know. I really appreciated that effort and I certainly appreciate their level of communications with each other. Many people are mis informed or ill educated on the needs of each pet, so I do hope to see more pet stores educating their staff on proper animal care. Unfortunately, PetsMart is not exactly known for it's attentiveness to animals and the staff in most locations have been pretty much "just here to earn a pay cheque". I appreciate this location staff a lot more for this reason and one of the supervisor/managers, Justin, was so incredibly helpful when I had bought bedding that was not the best quality. They're quick to assist and ensure true satisfaction with the products they carry. read more

My main reason to take my Rottweiler to Petsmart for grooming is for the nail trim. When I picked my dog up they said they couldn't trim my dogs nails to take him to a vet instead because he was too much. When other locations had no issues trimming his nails. Is this not what your trained to do And still charged full price!! Disappointed and will not return to this location!! read more

I didn't know that this PetSmart store is next to Food Basics. Now that I own a betta fish, I am more aware of pet stores. I was in the neighbourhood, after having picked up some essentials from Shoppers Drug Mart. So, I dropped by. The store is large and it was easy to find the aquatics section for my fish supplies. There is a decent selection. This store is the first one where I have seen the halfmoon betta prices clearly posted. I didn't get anything. I usually come here for all my cat supplies. It is a well stocked store because I don't think it gets much traffic. There are never many people in this store, but I am usually here during the week. They have started to have promotions every week, for various brands of cat foods. I buy all my cats' treats from here as they are cheaper than Walmart. I always love looking at the cats that are up for adoption. It takes a lot of willpower to not bring one home but I already have 2 cats, so I only look at them. Nice pet store with a good variety of pets, foods etc. Especially good if you have a dog because the dog section is massive, like 3 times as big as the cat section. People bring their dogs in store and they have the dog obedience training too. Staff are quite friendly and are usually available to help you. read more

Overall this store is good, well stocked and have a large variety of products. Unlike other Petsmart I've been to, this store was very clean and didn't smell of animal urine. I recently purchased a Male Betta fish here for my little nephew at this location. The store associate that helped me was very thorough and provided me lots of information on how to maintain the fish. After 2 days, the fish died. It grew some kind of white cotton mold on itself and the water turned really murky. After doing research, Bettas are known to be very hardy because they live in shallow swamps. The Betta was probably sick to begin with. I wouldn't suggest purchasing fish here, better go to a specialty store like Big Al's. read more

***Please note - this review is based on the carpet cleaner rental services...*** I do not have a pet, but have recently moved to a house that was in dire need of carpet cleaning. I've seen the Carpet Doctor and similar types advertised for rent at grocery stores and Home Depot, and I was just going to do the HD rental and get it over with...however, research showed that the Bissell Pawsitively Clean (I think that's what it was called) kicked the asses of those other rental units, and that it was the one to do the job. Seeing as this location was convenient, I went in and was helped immediately. The rental of the unit was very reasonable, $31.99 for 24hrs or $41.99 for 48hrs. I got a jug of the cleaning juice for about $23 and off I went, all in under 10 minutes. The unit itself worked WONDERS. I thought my carpet was going to remain a stained nightmare but this unit was amazing. Not hard to operate at all, and we didn't even use the whole jug of solution for quite a bit of cleaning that we did. I would love to return and adopt a kitten one day soon, but for now the carpet cleaner was a super good find! read more

We brought our dog here to pick a new toy during their 'Celebrate Your Pet' weekend. We arrived pretty early and it was pretty empty in the store so we had the full attention of one of the employees who gave us the rundown on some of the deals. I will note that this Petsmart carries Nutro venison which a lot of the other Petsmart locations are always sold out of. One of the activities for the special weekend was getting a keepsake photo of your pet taken. I brought this up with the cashier and she radioed the employee who was taking the pictures straightaway. This employee helped me find a good spot with a good back drop and lighting and snapped a pic for me. I was very appreciative of how personalized my experience was! read more

My wife and myself were shopping at Petsmart (1210 Castlemore). I'm a brown person. One of the employees kept following us all the time throughout the store like we are thieves. It was so obvious. This is not my first time shopping at Petsmart and this is the first time something like that happened. This is really ridiculous. We will not shop at Petsmart again until you stop hiring racist people. The employee was white, blond, overweight and young female. read more

Hands down the best Petsmart I have been to! It's my regular store for grooming and buying treats and toys for my two pups. I have dealt with the management multiple times and one in particular is extremely passionate about her job and always helpful. The customer service here is the excellent. read more

I recently took my Shihpoo to the groomers at this location. I was horrified at what the Groomer did. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE FOR GROOMING! The groomer left razor burns on my small dog on the stomach, leg and a deep blade cut on my dog's top shoulder. When I went to pick up my dog after 4 hours I had asked how she was. The groomer ( Cathy) replied, she was very good." She did not mention the burns. Mt dog was trembling when I picked her up. My dog kept scratching her coat and eye that night and the next day. I had to take my dog to the Vet Emergency and found out they sprayed cologne on my dog's face and on the razor burns. She had an eye infections, her skin is inflammed and she's on pain killers. In total, I have spent over $400 dollars on vet bills and medication. Please do not take your dog here! read more

Very Poor customer service from one of the managers from the store. We purchased puppy training basic, intermediate, and advanced in September. We only went to 3 classes because they would cancel on us 20 minutes before class with the excuse that the trainer became sick, another occasion was she had car troubles, and finally she quit. This happened for 3 weeks straight. Petsmart informed us that we had the option of either receiving a full refund or we could wait 2-3 weeks until they hire a new trainer. This conversation took place in November to which we are now in January of the new year with still no phone call regarding any updates. We decided to take the full refund instead and upon doing so, Trevor (one of the managers) stated that they would only refund the classes we missed out and that they were "doing us a favour for even refunding the money back" and looked upset and truly lacked professionalism. The other manager stated to us prior that we would receive a full refund however this manager felt strongly about not giving back OUR money. Through the back and forth between us (customers) and manager, they finally decided to give back OUR money. In the past we have never had a problem going to this PetSmart location and their service from the other employees have been much help; however management needs to improve their skills in customer service. read more
