The service has declined. On Saturday march 14, I brought my dog who is now 16, vision impaired and clinically deaf in for a full groom which includes ear cleaning. He has mild mobility issues which comes with age and the owner was trying to get him to follow her on his lead down the stairs?? Watching, I reminded her that he is deaf and nearly blind. So she carried him down. Within a couple of hours I received notification he was ready. In the past, his groom took 3 hours. We are fairly regular customers. On arrival, I paid the full amount and tipped before seeing him. At a glance, he looked good! I did not notice his ears were not even touched until we got home. About 90 minutes had lapsed. So I called Nice Diggz and left a voice message advising that my dog's ears were missed and for someone to kindly return my call so we can arrange to correct that. No one returned my call so on Thursday morning I rang the groomer and recited my reason for calling, stating I had left a message from Saturday afternoon. She immediately responded saying there was no voicemail from me! No apology. Just defensive. This was not the first time some part of his grooming was missed either. The time before we picked him up he still had build up from tear ducts under his eyes. He is a white Cockapoo with brown markings around his eyes and back. He has many skin tags which scab and fall off. I bath him weekly at home to maintain his back end. He's had the skin tags with a little more each year since he was about 7. Previously he'd been returned to me clean looking not with the a few of the scabs debris visible. It looks unfinished. It had occurred the three times. I had been taking my dog there since he was two. Different owner at the time; one who I found personable. I know that everyone can't be the same but I won't tolerate rudeness be it blunt or insinuated. At this point I was wondering if I would bring my dog here again. Our relationship is transactional. In my opinion the service has really declined. The hair cuts are fine but the last few visits, the service as requested was incomplete. If you're not sure you'd have to ask seeing as you don't keep notes or have the same groomer doing the session. What was also missing on Thursday was an apology for the inconvenience. I asked the owner if there were new hires. She said no. I let her know that I felt the service had declined as we had to come back and I usually get a lift from my friend or taxi over. She said she had no notes of any of the incidents I mentioned. I was in disbelief. Like a hair salon, how would you keep track or be on top of and physical changes or incidents with your clientele? Hello!! Because nothing was documented does not mean it didn't happen! I sensed she was getting defensive as I shared my take on what the service had been like in the past. I mentioned again that no one returned my call from Saturday afternoon. She claimed she didn't receive any voice mail from me. Rude and dismissive! I mean I've only been calling the same number to make appts for years. If I don't get through, I'll leave a message or call again. Deflection is a go to tactic used by those averse to criticism. She then asked how old my dog was and began keying in notes. Wow! Unimpressed, I told her and how long we'd been coming there - since the previous owner had it when my dog was two. Erika was the owner. After a few minutes the young lady who had initially groomed him brought him upstairs. She said nothing. Just stood there - like a statue. Not one word of apology for her mistake. Note the owner said nothing either but you could feel the tension. I was not trying to get money back or cause a fuss. Anyway I needed to get out of there as I had to et back to work. I felt as though I was the sane person in a twilight zone episode. Word to the owner; you are in a service industry. Professionalism and accountability matter. An apology helps if sincere. Own it! Please. read more

Booked an appt. for Tues at 3 and specifically asked not to have this groomer named G to do my dog as he doesn't do a nice cut on her. Arrived at the Dundas groomer and found out G was doing her and the person who was booked to be her groomer was Manager so she was not going to groom my dog. Very disappointing and waste of my time as I have to medicate my dog before grooming. I have been going to this dog grooming salon for years but I find the service not client oriented anymore and this so called manager for the day need a refresher course in public service. Will look for a better dog grooming company who honor commitment and responsibility. read more

I have been taking my dog here for 4 1/2 years and although there have been some issues in the past, this time was the last straw. I brought my dog in to get groomed and told the woman at the front that I wanted the same cut as last time only to shorten his ears and tail (as they weren't touched last time). When I picked up my dog, his tail and ears were SHAVED. I never once asked for his ears or tail to be SHAVED. He is a cockapoo and now has a rat tail and flat ears. When I was shocked at his horrible haircut, she said, "well, this is what you wanted". At no point did is EVER say to shave him completely. My dad called later asking for the manager and when she called (I think it was the manager- we're not really sure), she was extremely rude. She said that they were talking in circles and no amount of talking would be able to "bring the hair back". She offered a 50% discount on the next cut, which we refused, as we won't be going back there. They do not care about the dogs or the loyalty of the people who have been going there every three months for years. You want to write back and blame me for miscommunicating what I wanted? You can go ahead, as that is what you did on the phone. When miscommunication happens, as a business, you need to take responsibility for that. You are the professionals. You need to make sure that you understand what the customer wants before they leave and not assume. I wish this company the best of luck. They will not keep customers if they continue to run a business this way. read more

Avoid this groomer place and save your dog. Brought my cockapoo Bentley in for grooming and they butchered my dog. My dog was in excruciating pain and bleeding and swelling after we went home on the same day. The groomer with the tattoos lied to me when I asked them why my dog is in pain. They lied and said everything is fine. The owner is unprofessional and allows the groomers to wear headphones and listen to music while grooming your dog. My dog's scrotum skin and belly is infected and we had to urgently go to the vet and get medicine. My dog is still recovering from the cuts from nice Diggz groomer. I regret bringing my dog here to this unprofessional place. Never again ! read more

Oh gosh! I love this place! Erica and Brad are such gems in the community. They truly, truly love all the pups that come in... And my Apollo couldn't be more excited to get there for daycare. I would absolutely recommend the daycare (as this is what our Pup goes there for full time - 5 days a week most weeks). They always have staff watching, playing, controlling the crowd, and ensuring every Pup is safe while they play their hearts out! They have access to being able to potty outside - without actually having to go outside, and that's a huge seller for us. It is absolutely worth a visit if you've been contemplating going - they are ALWAYS there - so you know their heart is in it. They also provide grooming services and really any other services you might need. Give them a visit! You won't be disappointed. read more

I have walked into so many pet stores/grooming facilities/daycares and they all either stink or look like they're falling apart. Nice Diggz is well kept and clean. The care of the animals is always my number one concern when I try a new place - Erikah and Brad are absolutely wonderful and set my mind at ease when we leave Ruby (my shih tzu) there for grooming. She is always out at a reasonable time and looks nice. She's always been nervous when it comes to getting groomed/going to the vet but it is nowhere near the anxiety she would get at other groomers. We've tried a few groomers in Etobicoke and really weren't that impressed/questioned what went on there... A family friend recommended Nice Diggz and we've been there 3 times now. I have been to many groomers and compared to the rest, the folks here are incredibly friendly. My dog, Chili seemed to like it there and being a pretty big cage free space is a huge bonus. They listened to what I wanted and actually did what I asked for, a complete buzz cut, one length, all over. Seems pretty simple but you'd be surprised how many groomers think that means I want him to have a poofy tail and/or poofy head!! I even had one gromer tell me no, he would look weird with his head shaved down more. Naturally, I really appreciate a groomer who does what I request. The price was quite reasonable for Toronto ($80 minus $5 for first time booking - he is a big boy) Seems like they don't use heavy perfumes which is nice because that stuff is horribly chemical laden and just plain bad for us. Not so nice because the lovely dog smell has started to return a day after being bathed. Although I would rather not have either, I prefer doggy smell to heavy perfumes anyways. Only downsides I would point out, 1. it's very hard to spot while driving. It is on a second floor above a salon. However, there is sufficient parking which is nice. 2. Not wheelchair accessible. You must go up a staircase to get to the grooming salon. That said, I won't speak for them but they are friendly enough that if I was unable to get up the stairs I would feel totally comfortable asking them to take my dog up and bring him back down. In fact, even though I have no problem with the stairs (I was carrying my 8 month old) my dog was taken right to my car. Nice! 3. They don't take credit or debit. Old school cheque or cash. Not a huge deal but I don't really like missing out on my points. Having said that, I feel much better about missing out on points with these folks pampering my pup! read more

Our pup Max loves the Nice Diggz family. We feel very fortunate to have a great day care that Max can visit and have some social time - the hours are so convenient and the price is excellent. The whole team is so friendly and obviously love dogs, I love checking the daily daycare Instagram posts, always great to see him playing with his friends. Socialization is so important and I feel so lucky that Max can play all days with his puppy pals :) thank you Nice Diggz for that! Max has also had both a Bath and Tidy and a full groom. We had to deal with some major matting and felt the grooming team definitely took the time to explain what to expect and our options with no judgement, understanding our concerns. I took my new Maltese puppy here for his first grooming. They have a puppy package which breaks the groom into 3 separate visits to ease them in to the new environment. Erikah did a great job explaining how it worked and what was involved. We booked an early Saturday morning visit (so that it wouldn't be too busy/overwhelmng for him) for his first groom. It turns out, my puppy is really well behaved and easy to work with so we got to do the full groom in one shot! He looked adorable when he was done - they did a great job. I also like the added touch of the little bandanna he came home with. The only thing that I don't think my puppy liked was the cage-free environment (just because all the other dogs were so much bigger than him) because when I went to pick him up, he was in his crate. You get $5 off for your first visit and I appreciated that she gave me an even further discount from what she'd quoted considering how tiny he is (approx 2.8lbs at the time). Only downsides are that it's cash only and that it's busy! I called on Monday and the next available appointments were for the Tuesday of the following week! read more

This groomer has gone downhill under new ownership. We have given them many chances, but the last visit was the final straw. They ignored all of our grooming instructions, my dog has horrible allergies and many of the instructions were to help avoid irritating her sensitive skin. I received a call from the male owner after our visit apologizing which was nice, but the following day I received bizarre text messages from his wife arguing with the grooming instructions- really weird after the issue seemed settled. Bottom line I would avoid this place, there are far better & cleaner places. read more

This was our first visit to the new place - they were just upstairs in the same building. The new location is so easy to access since it's on the ground floor. The place is beautiful, clean and spacious! Love how they now offer a play area. Erikah is so helpful and our Westiepoo is so adorable! We can tell that they love animals and have the patience and expertise in grooming! Their prices are reasonable and include wash, cut, nail clipping and ear cleanings. They even give him a bandana :) We appreciate how they ask whether he can have treats or not. They have always ran on time or earlier! - calling us when he is done. We are always so happy with how Bailey looks and we know he loves it too! read more

Nice people but they don't listen. They do what they think is best for your dog regardless what you say. When I say BATH ONLY. It means bath only. Instead they cut his hair saying it was for the dog's best interest. They cut his fur WITHOUT MY CONSENT. They lost my trust. Won't be returning again. read more

We are so pleased to have found this place!! The owner is amazing, was so patient with us in explaining everything. We had been taking our dog to Petsmart for nail trimmings (big mistake!!) and they would always yell at us and give us attitude for wanting to stay in the room to calm him down. The first thing they told us here at Nice Diggz was if our boy was a little anxious about getting his nails done than we were more than welcome to hold him to make it easier on him. I took our dog for grooming. Running late my daughter called and was told that if the dog arrived at 2.30 he would be groomed. I arrived at 2.32 and was told curtly that he would not be groomed. The receptionist was very curt and unwavering. Spoke to the owner and was told that neither my daughters dog or my dog was welcome. Not good customer service. read more

My dog Blue is a Border Terrier. He has been groomed and also takes part in the daycare. The grooming is awesome and since he needs to be handstripped, I appreciate the job they do even more! I brought my pooch here a few weeks ago and I was not happy with the result at all!!!!! I found the owner Erica to be incredibly rude and I was reluctant in giving my dog over. I came back a few hours later to find that my dog's hair cut was uneven, she had come so close to her skin, AND she cut my dog's nipples (I could tell from the iodine stains) and she didn't even have the decency to tell me!!!
