Ten/ten service and products every time! I've been coming here for about a year and a half and cannot say enough good things about this store. The staff and owner? Top notch. The groomer? Like hand done, scissor cuts! I am a dog owner who believes my little man deserves the world. Dolce is my fur-baby. He's the one constant in my life, so when his birthday came around, Tina (owner) spoke to their fabulous groomer Ayaka and they suggested and arranged a super special birthday spa-like treatment for him. I posted a pic of his before/after photo and one of the gourmet cookies they sell there. FYI., the prices are way lower than any store I've seen in Toronto. Their grooming is so personable and reasonably priced too - I think the same as the big chains. Dolce even likes the groomer. Take your cat or dog there for grooming and be sure to pick up and outfit for them too. They also carry all the necessary things you need for pets too, at great prices. read more

I bought a chrome prong collar and my dog allergic to chrome, I just rescued him so I didn't know, the response instead of saying yes you can exchange it, was sorry we are not responsible for your purchase!!! Don't get your dog groomed here!! This is from my personal experience anyways. I asked for a summer trim for my westie and this is what I got. Its very uneven on the sides. We contacted them to ask if something could be done about it and even after multiple calls we were ignored for about 2 weeks. It took another call after those two weeks to finally get a response in which they asked for another $20 on top of the $80 I paid for a touch up, saying that a trim is what I asked for and they only did what I asked. They mentioned that my dog was fussy but only when she was touched around her muzzle so I'm confused as to why the trim was fine around her mouth but uneven on her sides. Took my dog here to get groomed-paid $90 before tax and tip and they didn't cut under her tail or trim her nails. Such a waste of money I will never be back to get her groomed. It also took hours and my dog was the only one there (to my knowledge). Every time they quoted me a time to come back they said it would be longer which is odd because my dog is a therapy dog and is extremely calm so I know she wouldn't have been fussy All negativity aside the staff were very warm and friendly and the store itself is really cute! read more

It's bloody expensive to get the dog haircut downtown and in this case it just cost me $101. I had an option of a less experienced groomer for 70 or a more experience for 90. I showed the groomer pictures when I got there asking for my dogs face to be cut in a round shape, a short chest, a shaved belly, and even cut. I got none of that. I was deflated when I picked her up but figured there was no point in asking for her to fix something that she wasn't prepared to do the first time around with pictures. I got home and found that the cut was even more uneven than I thought. This is a great store with a ton of great stuff it's really quite expensive, but that's understandable given the cost of retail space downtown. It's just too bad that this groomer billed as a specialist, didn't do a good job. I believe this groomer tried hard, and she was very sweet. but it just didn't happen. DO NOT go here for grooming. I took my cat here recently and when I got her back, her paws were BLEEDING. I called and they said it's normal but now that her wounds have healed I can see that they clipped her toe beans instead of her nails which caused the excessive bleeding. I can't even cut her nails myself anymore because it hurts her whenever I get close to her paw. Also, the grooming room is in the basement of the store and they don't allow you to accompany your pet so you can imagine what kind of environment it is like down there. I would pay the extra bucks and go somewhere that is more transparent and professional. read more

The employees are great however, I would never come here again for their grooming services. My cat became very traumatized after her visit to this place. When I pet her and touched her tail she would jump in shock (it seems as though her tail was pulled on during the groom). A week later, I also saw dried up blood on her paws. I stupidly believed it was litter/poo stuck on her paws (my Persian cat has hair on the bottom of her paws). She cried in pain when I tried to clean it. I felt so bad for my poor girl. I informed them before hand that I always accompany my cat to her grooming as she is so much more calm and relaxed. However, they were very persistent in not letting me come with her saying that the groomer knew how to communicate with animals. After the appointment my cat was growling and hissing at the groomer (before this incident my cat was always calm once the grooming was over and even licked the groomer and allowed them to pet her but she was very angry with Mizuki). There must be something suspiciously wrong if they really don't want the owners to go to the basement where the grooming happens. I really don't recommend this place for Cat grooming BUT if you do decide to go please bring a photo of what you want as the groomer Mizuki has a hard time communicating in English. We didn't get exactly what we wanted. I came to this place because of the pictures and because it was $100 + tax including the bath, cut, nail trimming (the whole package). My old groomers charged the same amount without a bath. I should have been suspicious when I knew that Mizuki was doing the grooming by herself. In the previous place I went to the groomer always had an assistant when grooming cats, plus I was there with my cat also. So three people to keeps her safe from hurting herself. My cat hates hair cuts (love baths) so I'm sure she was hurt in the process as only one person had to control her and also give her the cut. I would pay and go to my old place anytime as they always want me to come in with her and really care about my cats well being. I feel so bad for my little girl who went through a lot, please look for another place if you are interested in cat grooming. read more

Wonderful friendly service and amazing selection! My toy Poms needed new raincoats and winter jackets and the staff member spent a lot of time helping me find the right ones for my boys. We were there for a good two hours and when she called the owner to ask a question, she came back with complimentary Clif bars to keep our strength! Hope they post the pictures of my gorgeous boys in their new leather jackets as I was too busy shopping to take pictures! Mash and Moon are very happy with their new stylish rain costs, winter leather jacket, treats, toys, boots and being adored while putting up with trying on sooooooooooo many coats! Huge selection of reasonably priced clothes for your unwitting pooch, no matter how large or small. The offerings range from ridiculous (tuxedos, jeans, tutus) to functional (plain/no-nonsense sweaters for short-haired and hairless breeds, PFDs, and booties to protect paw pads from salt and ice in the winter). If dressing up the dog isn't your kind of thing, there's a decent selection of leashes, collars, toys, treats, and grooming supplies to peruse. There's also a little bit in there for cats. The layout of the store is a bit crowded and haphazard, so you might have to do a little digging to find what you want. And compared to some of the more frou-frou pet accessory shops out there, the prices at K9 Couture aren't as egregiously high. Even if your four-legged friend hates her new outfit, at least you didn't spend a huge amount of money. read more

Horrendous post-sale customer service. They use Covid as an excuse to offer pathetic service--you can't go in the store to try an item on your dog, and if it doesn't fit, no offer of even a store credit or exchange, even if the item has never been used and the tag is still on. Have told my pet friends and family to go anywhere but here. Highly recommend the pet store on nearby Church St., but really anywhere is better than here. I hope they get the same pathetic customer service in a store so they know what it feels like. Goes without saying, you've lost a customer. read more

I *LOVE* the variety there is in this store. Nobody else seems to have these awesome tutus and dresses. Aside from fun party clothing, they also have the no-nonsense stuff - coats, jackets, snowpants, etc. The lady who was there that day (I believe the owner) was very professional and nice. I ended up buying a "Sniffany" dress for my dog by One Lucky Dog Couture. Great store with tons of different products for your pet. Lots of things for your dog that you never even knew existed. And if you want anything that you don't see, I'm almost certain they will order it for you. They have a great selection of coats for small dogs - and I know, many people don't understand WHY some little dogs NEED a coat - but I can tell you, several of my very short-haired Chihuahuas that have no fat on their bones are shaking like a leaf within 10 seconds of going outside for about 6 months of the year here in Toronto. K9 offers a huge selection of functional warm clothing in addition to stuff that looks good. K9 has a bunch off good food that is much more holistic than the mainstream dog food - and has a much higher meat content - and less of the 'filler' that dogs never really ate in the past like corn and grains. I've found the prices very reasonable, and it's nice to have a very convenient location right on Yonge St, a couple of blocks south of Bloor. And they now offer professional dog grooming, and I think dog daycare or dog boarding. If you've got a new pet, you may find yourself visiting this store every week and having lots of fun. And your dog will appreciate the new chew treats and tons of toys. read more

This store has neat stuff like bowties, clothes, treats, and gourmet cookies. Came in initially looking for a light t-shirt for my dog for the summer because he needed something to cover a cut on his shoulder that he was scratching. I had asked for some assistance and the salesgirk was nice enough but somewhat unhelpful. She had suggested the right shirt but the first one I had noticed the sizing was too big for him. I know it was a lousy $5.00 shirt, but regardless it appeared to her that the shirt was correct sizing and she mentioned that, yes, the cut underneath was higher so as my male dog was not to pee on it. I tried another size and she said it was fine and we agreed that it was proper fitting and it was smaller. There was more effort to make the sale. 10 minutes out the store and it wad already soiled with pee. Fabulous. Thankfully, the products offered can be found in my neighbourhood and I was just passing by. read more

Love this store! The employees are very welcoming and helpful. Took my little pup here for her first haircut. I was super nervous since she's never been to the groomers before but after meeting the groomer Ayaka I felt totally confident leaving my girl in the groomers hands. Ayaka was very patient and listened to how I wanted my pups hair cut. She only took 45 mins to be groomed and was ready to be picked up. Love her haircut and my puppy's very happy with her new do too! Will definitely be back! read more

I dropped in for the first time with my dog today, looking for items for my new puppy. Both salespeople were clearly animal lovers, as well as knowledgeable about their products. I was first shown product line aimed at the dog I brought in, but once I showed pics of the new puppy I was getting, I got excellent suggestion on sizing for now and later, and looking at different price points. The new pup is a chihuahua which the salespeople also had. When I said I was looking for a sling carrier, I got a lot of good suggestions with the number one being "bring her in when you have, and size her properly". It was a very pleasant, no pressure experience. I picked up a few toys which were comparative in cost to other stores. Yes, they have some expensive items in stock, but a lot are one of a kind. There are lots of decent items at standard price points as well. I will definitely go back! read more

I have been to this store many times and have seen them selling puppy Pomeranians in the front window. Not sure how they're aloud to do this. Also the owner or manager I'm not sure but he is not at all interactive with the customers I haven't even received a hi, how are you do you need a hand. He sits behind the counter and looks miserable. The dog food I typically buy is Fromms, and they have it priced 5 dollars more. I don't plan on coming back here ever. Been here several times and very unimpressed with both the service and price of items. The staff member I dealt with in the few times I have been to the store was unhelpful and not very knowledgeable about the items offered. I wanted to buy my dog a winter jacket but was offered no advice or recommendation despite making it known to the staff member that was what I came into the store for. The coat that I had my dog try on (with no help from staff) was too short in length and the staff just looked at me blankly and said "yeah" without further recommendation. Overall, their items are priced much higher than other stores (for example, the shampoo I get for my dog regularly is $19.99 at another store but $26 here). They probably have the best selection of doggy clothes in the area, but their store is messy, and their staff is disinterested. read more

I am guilty of avoiding this store because it LOOKED expensive. It was getting a bit cold so I thought I would try buying my puppy's food from K9 since I live close by. I visited their website and used the live chat option to ask if they had the brand of puppy food. They told me that they would check and get back to me that day. I received a phone call a few hours later and voila, it was CHEAPER than global pets by a few bucks and it was so convenient. Even their apparel is reasonably priced - I will definitely visit this shop over the franchise stores that aren't much cheaper. During my past visits, the employees were very friendly and young animal loving people. Overall I would visit this store again and not worry about getting ripped off. read more

K-9 Couture has the nicest dog groomer. Her name is Ayaka, and I couldn't be more happy with her care, patience, and attention to detail when it comes to grooming my very exuberant shih tzu puppy. I've tried other dog groomers downtown, but Ayaka by far has a great sense of style and skill, and I can't count how many comments people make on how fabulous his haircut looks even weeks after he's had it done. The prices for her are about the same as the other dog salons in the core, so now I take my little guy there exclusively. I bought a spray bottle for hot spot that i found in a sale basket. It was $5 and bought it without checking the expiry date. Came home and checked the bottom of the spray bottle and it expired 5 years ago. Called them right away. Woman who sold it to me was aware of it and said that i would have to talk to the manager in order to get a refund on it. So i call the manager few days later, and the guy knew exactly what he was selling and they were expired and thats why they were on sale. He refused to give me refund and never apologized.
