They offer daycare so it's extremely convenient for us: dropping her off in the morning, go to work and pick up a beautifully groomed, fluffy dog in the afternoon. Plus our girl doesn't have to spend long hours in a cage. They shaved her for the summer and even with a short haircut she never showed signs of skin irritation of any kind. They follow instructions on what you want and check with you when you pick them up. They are nice and professional and the best part... the prices are very reasonable! read more

I was a little worried bringing my little boy here as he's never been to a groomer where they take multiple dogs at a time, but everything went well. The groomers did a great job and were very nice to both me and my pup. The only downside is that it took much longer (3.5hrs) than at a place I used to go to before where they only take one animal at a time (1.5hrs). I was quoted a price of $90 for my Shi-Poo. When I picked him up after the grooming I was shocked how much they charged me, $120!!! With no justification to why the big price difference, the woman said "well you know, the time, effort and his eyes were not easy."I never had any groomer before give me these excuses. I have been using Tailspin for my dog for over 4 years now and had no issues up until recently when Dee decided to be rude and unprofessional. I told her about an issue I had with the way she treated me and she called me to yell rather than hear me out . She was aggressive and defensive rather than listen to my concern. The call ended horribly with her insisting she is right. She picks and chooses which clients to prioritize despite whether it is your turn or not. Dee doesn't seem to care about customer loyalty and is probably just driven by greed. She is one of the rudest people i have met and i am appalled at how she handles customer concerns but even more disgusted at how she treats clients who were LOYAL to her and who REFERRED others to her. I would NOT recommend this place despite the fact that some of the staff are lovely. read more

I bring my 5 year old duck tolling retriever here and they do an amazing job! She does a lot of swimming and gets these dreadlock-like mats that are impossible for me to detangle. I just took my 10lb Shihpoo, Henry, for his first cut at Tailspin. We just moved into the area and it seemed to have good reviews. The staff there were very kind and friendly and were very sweet to Henry upon his arrival. They asked questions and even asked for pictures to make sure that we were on the same page and so they could give Henry the best cut. When I came in to pick him up, he was a happy bundle of energy and his haircut was fantastic. We were very impressed. We take our Scottish terrier, Morgan, here for regular grooming. The owner, Dee, is very skilled and has earned our business over a nearby competitor (of which we also continue to think highly). As with all dog groomers, articulating ones tastes in advance is key. The first time we went, the cut wasn't completely to our liking, but in retrospect this was at least partly our fault as we weren't clear enough. Next time, we sent Dee a couple of photos from the Internet by email to explain exactly how we wanted our dog's hair cut, and ever since then we have been so delighted with the results. Morgan's hair is groomed so perfectly and Dee manages to get her hair softer than any competitor. Morgan gets even more compliments from strangers than she did before. :) read more

I was VERY disappointed in Tailspin, whom I had taken my dog to before. Keep in mind, I have had six dogs in my lifetime and I have never had a grooming issue. They are lazy and complained that my dog had too many knots, so, without notifying me, shaved him down. If Yelp would allow me to post pictures, I would, so one would see the burn scars on his snout and neck. He is just a puppy of 10 months old and he won't walk outside, as he is so traumatized. He used to be full of life, now he's full of trepidation. They responded to my Google review telling me it's because his fur was extremely matted (which it was NOT) and said clippers getting so hot is normal and it can "become red and irritated". This is not irritation, but a sheer burn on the skin. I have had similar breed dogs and never has this happened. If you care for your pet, do NOT bring them here. Buyer be warned. Do not go to a place that is lazy, negligent, and inept. read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE DO NOT GO HERE TO GET YOUR DOGS NAILS CUT. I took my dog here for the first time to get her nails done, little did I know it would be leading to a vet visit. They took her to the back, and I waited in the waiting room. All I could hear were literal screams coming from my dog and constant whining (Which she has NEVER done before while getting nails done). By the third scream they were done. They come out and 3 nails on my dogs back legs are still bleeding, and one has medicine on it to stop the bleeding. She goes "Just a little bleeding happens all the time!". I paid her the $20 for the butcher of a nail job. On our walk home my dog kept lifting her back legs in pain, I had to carry her the rest of the way. We got home and she wouldn't stop panting and shaking. I took a look at her nails and they were little stubs cut in half. I have taken her once a month to get her nails done for the past 3.5 years and have never experienced this. I called back and went to get my refund. The lady was so rude to me because I wanted my money back she did not apologize, instead I received an eye roll and she looked the other way when passing me my $20. And to top it all off, I have a vet appointment for a wound examination and cleaning, and a prescription for pain killers! Which by the way cost me a lot more than a $20 nail clipping. Let alone my dog in all of this pain. After extremely awful customer service, a dog in extreme pain, and a lengthy vet bill, I could not stress it enough to choose a new groomers. read more

I've recently started taking my shih tzu here, and I'm impressed, The salon is very clean, uncluttered, and professional looking. There is a certain amount of transparency because it's easy to see where they groom the dogs, and cleanliness is important to me. My dog seems to take to them very well, and he always is ready on time, and looks great! It's a really nice little business. I think it's a wee bit more expensive than other places downtown, but it's worth it to me, knowing my baby will be well taken care of in such a professional environment. read more
