*VEGAN* only food & drink and, at least in my case, *causes gastrointestinal issues*!!! I had no idea this place was all vegan since there was no signage to that affect anywhere inside or out and there were lots of items in the display cases and on the menu that had "cheese" and "meat". There were no quotation marks, mentions of "near" or "fake", or vegan brands anywhere to be see near the words bacon, sausage, egg, or cheese. I found out everything was vegan only when they asked what milk I wanted in my mocha and I said regular and they said they are vegan and only have soy, almond, or oat. The coffee itself was bland and the mocha had some foam on top but no taste of chocolate (or really of coffee, for that matter). The breakfast croissant had fake bacon that was pretty gross, fake cheese that wasn't bad but a bit rubbery, and fake egg patty that tasted ok. The croissant itself was very greasy and mostly just the outside (i.e., no fluffy bready inside). The creamy sauce was pretty flavorful though. Minutes after I finished eating and drinking, the stomach pains started. I had to head straight home after eating at the restaurant and head right into the bathroom for a while. read more

I forgot that this was a vegan coffee shop. It didn't change my perception of it, just forgot until I was told that the milk options were oat, soy, and almond. I got a vanilla cold brew, didn't get any bakery options but they did look tasty (maybe some other time when I happen to pop by). I will say it's a small size for the cost but not too unexpected. For reference it was $5 for maybe 12oz? The cold brew itself was a bit too sweet for me. Unsure if they can adjust the sweetness at all. However, once the ice melted it was a better level. Maybe I should stick with regular cold brew here but if you like your drinks sweeter it might be more to your taste. The parking is street parking, there are plenty of side streets that might be easier than along Piedmont. I will say the staff didn't look the most interested, not taking points away since they were still helpful and made my coffee in an efficient manner, it just personally made me feel like I wasn't as welcome to the shop. read more

Love Timeless. The majority of the pastries I've tried there have been incredible, esp silly the chocolate croissant and "ham & cheese" croissant. I actually can't believe it's vegan. The oat milk lattes are also amazing. Like....amazing! We recently purchased a birthday cake here, and 5 stars! The only change I would've made is the cookie crumbles on top. Otherwise, the flavor and texture is so good. It has a slight "salted" flavor that cuts the sweetness, and it's decorated beautifully! Luckily, Timeless is still opened and even support our Healthcare worker with providing them coffee is they show proof. They also have good coffee and really good cake. I paid in advance, ( over 48 hours) and drove many hours to Piedmont because I used to really think they were worth it. I called many times to confirm the cake was there. When I finally got there, they had no cake. Staff didn't seem to care. They just seemed bothered and had no solution for the inscription for the bday message. Was a huge let down because I've supported them and spent so much money there and sent so many others their way. Didn't even have our cake and no response online. It wasn't about the cake it was more about their blasé, not interested, attitude. Idk if staff is unhappy or there are rifts, but I was really bummed. Located on a lively stretch of Piedmont Ave, Timeless was bustling on a Saturday morning. Not unpleasant, can't find a space bustling - more, this is awesome energy, everyone is so happy kinda bustling. I had no issues finding a table inside or outside. The outdoor seating is mostly shaded, which is nice unless you're like me and adore direct sun. The vibes inside were nice, and the only thing that put a damper on it was sitting right in front of the pastry counter. Lemme tell ya, it was torture. It all looked amazing and I wanted to order a croissant (weekends only), a donut, a twinkie, and one of everything else in the case. At around $4 a pop, pretty normal for quality pastry, I decided against it only to save room for lunch. I ended up settling on a slice of cherry cheesecake. I had to double check Yelp to verify everything is vegan because it just tasted like a delicious slice of cheesecake. None of the texture or flavor shortcomings vegan fare often falls victim to. My cappuccino was the perfect compliment to my sweet slice of cheesecake. It was very rich in flavor and definitely tasted like quality espresso. I took the bus to get here and it was very easy. A short walk from the 12, 51A, and I think the 33. There's metered street parking out front as well and some parking on the side streets. Also lots of bike racks out front. I'm not sure why I waited three years to try Timeless but I will not be waiting long to return. Overall this is worth a visit. They use good quality coffee beans, and they make a mean espresso. Good location and stylishly done interior - good place to hang out in general. The only reason this is not a regular go to for me is the absence of regular milk. I'm a coffee purist and a latte or cappuccino just doesn't taste the same with oat or almond milk. read more

I corresponded with Diana and she helped me come up with my dream cake. I ordered a small double tier red velvet cake and they were able to add flowers of my choice onto the cake. Not only was the cake beautiful but my guests LOVED it. We have part of it frozen so we can eat it on our one year anniversary. I said almond a seed not a nut so it's cool. She told me "sure, if you want to take that chance with your kid." I had to remind Karen to please keep my kids out of her mouth. Then when we had to pay, she said 5 dollars and I was like I thought this was a replacement. She said no- it'll be five dollars. I said man thats jacked - but sure Ill pay. I let them know I didn't bring my wallet maybe I could just get them next time. Been comin for years, mind you. Coffee is fine, comparable to a chain or whatever, but the fact that everything is 100% vegan is great for vegans. I just ordered a simple almond-milk latte with a bit of sugar and was just blown away by the depth of flavor. They added the perfect amount of sugar that didn't overpower the coffee but still gave it a hint of sweet. Coffee shops that have found that balance is a rare in my experience. When we were ordering, it seemed like they didn't have much stock? Or maybe we just came at an unlucky time where they ran out (it was a Sunday at noon though...). The environment was cozy and full equipped. The staff was really nice and kind. He helped with taking cake out of the deck. The raspberry was artificial it could be better. I tried a few treats from here - a slice of their triple chocolate mousse tart, the tiramisu cake, and a slice of the mango tres leches cake. All their sweets are vegan which is surprising when you try it. The chocolate mousse cake is also gluten free but the rest were not. I think the chocolate mousse was my favorite from the bunch (not pictured unfortunately). The cake base is made with coconut and I loved the hint of coconut with the chocolate flavor. I liked that it tasted light yet it was still indulgent. It was also topped with fresh berries. The tiramisu cake had flavors that remind you of the classic dessert, and the mango was also good. I haven't been here in ages but it was SO GOOD! Better than I remember. The customer service was great, they let me take my time looking at all the beautiful things in the dessert and pastry case before ordering. The shop has nice flow to it - if you're placing an order you enter through one side opposite of folks picking up online orders. They have a few spots to wait inside and some cute lil bistro tables outside. It looked nice and steady, people hanging out and enjoying themselves. I ordered an espresso, decaf pour over, cherry danish, raspberry & cream cheese danish and a pack of chocolate caramel bars to take home. I appreciate the barista pulled my shot first, so I sipped on that while I waited for them to brew my decaf drip. The shot was great, super chocolatey, nutty and sweet. I got a double shot and it was not lacking in volume, probably close to a 2 or 3 oz shot. Nice to have something different from a ristretto style shot. Once I was done sipping that outside, my decaf just finished brewing so I drank that on the road. It was a great decaf, no off "decaf" papery taste to it, body was light with notes of citrus balanced by a cocoa-like sweetness. It was really poppin off on the chocolate sweetness once it had cooled down a bit. The danishes were absolutely amazing, like "I can't believe it's vegan" amazing. The cherry danish was my fav. The chocolate caramel bars were my impulse buy and I'm so happy I did, they're like a way better version of a Twix bar. Two for me! Great crunch without being hard to eat, and the caramel is delicious. I wish I bought several packs. All in all, swing by when you're in Piedmont and skip the blue bottle. This is a great little gem of a spot to get your Vegan on people. This was the first stop for the wife and I as we were visiting my Sister in Oakland. We were hungry after our short 2 hour flight from Phoenix so we came here immediately. The street parking was good but you do have to pay. Be advised though right around the corner is free parking IF you can find some...LOL. As for the food it was awesome I had the quiche which included broccoli and topped with Daiya Cheddar cheese. My wife had the breakfast Burrito which contained tofu...soyrizo...beans...bell peppers...and Daiya cheese. The customer service and the house brewed coffee were awesome as well. Service is great and staff is awesome. They don't have WiFi but I guess that keeps people from posting it there for a while.
