Absolutely adore Timeless! Any vegan coffeeshop is going to catch my attention, but I find myself craving Timeless's delicious blueberry scones or yummy pesto rolls even on days when I'm willing to brave it and take Lactaid so I don't have to eat vegan. That being said, the drinks are definitely pricey, so I tend to treat Timeless as more of a "treat" place than a regular haunt. Strong recommendation for this Piedmont Ave location over the Webster Street location. The now-closed location on College Ave (RIP) was my favorite though. read more

WARNING: TOTALLY VEGAN. Every single item. Now. That in itself is not an issue. I absolutely 100% support veganism. But I do NOT support LYING. There is not a single sign inside or out indicating that every single pastry here is made without ingredients you expect in your cakes, muffins, and cookies: flour, butter, milk. Part of their gig, I have learned, is hiding it from you so that they can "convert you," convince you to change your evil ways, and stop consuming animal products. (Note: there are many better ways to do that than with dishonesty.) I ordered a "latte" - that's what it says in the menu, folks - and after taking a sip, my tongue was coated with a thick, weird substance. I gagged, thinking the milk had curdled. I tasted a cookie, and it was gross - oily with a weird metallic taste that chocolate chips aren't supposed to have. Then, and only then, did they disclose that the food was all vegan. And the milk...? Only when I went back to ask did they inform me that they had served me ALMOND milk. Really?! What if I was allergic to almonds?? You could've killed me. :( THIS is how you show animals that you care about them??? When I expressed surprise and disappointment, the barista became verbally aggressive and nasty. As if I had somehow done something wrong...? Listen lady, I'm not a liar here. You are. She gave me the stink eye (which I just noticed you can actually see in one of the photos, yikes) and said there were "signs everywhere." Signs, she said, that inform customers that their food is 100% vegan. I'm pretty observant, and had read the full menu, and I hadn't seen any. So I went on a hunt. I searched every countertop. I went back outside and looked at every window and every sign. I posted some photos so that you can see for yourself: THERE IS NOT A SINGLE SIGN ANYWHERE TELLS CUSTOMERS THEY ARE BUYING VEGAN FOOD. We like to try new coffee shops so we found this place on yelp. We decided to try this place out and parked half a block away on the street. It was a little confusing to know where the line started. We ordered two lattes. They did not have whole milk only oat and soy. This is definitely something to consider if you like whole milk. We also ordered a doughnut. The place had more like a restaurant feel not a coffee shop. We ordered our coffee and it was burning hot with no sleeve. I was sitting at our table the line was line and someone was literally standing next to me. It definitely did not give me relaxing coffee shop vibes. If only it wasn't so busy and difficult to get a seat, I would be a regular! I swung by on a Saturday morning at 9 and there was always a line the entire time I was there, and no open indoor table stayed available for more than 30 seconds. I get why it's a popular place though! Their pastries were phenomenal (particularly their croissants), and I enjoyed my drink, a mocha, which I actually liked that it was not sweet at all. Two baked goods and a drink came out to be $18 which is steep, but for the taste, I feel like it was worth trying, and they do have a rewards program. I love that everything is vegan (plenty of gluten free options too), and everything displayed is clearly labeled. Has a good number of seats inside and out and seems like a pretty good place to do some work although not sure if they have wifi or not so you may need to use your phone. I came in on a Thursday afternoon. I got the vanilla cold brew which was very good! Nicely sweet and not sour at all! Service was fast and polite. I was a little disappointed there was no WiFi available - but that's on me for not double checking before I ordered. My only complaint is that the music was LOUD. It was just your typical alt-pop playlist but from my seat by the door, it was hard to hear myself think. I would not recommend coming here to get any work / quiet reflection done. read more

I brought my laptop to work here since I saw photos of people working on their laptops but unfortunately there are no outlets that we could find or wifi provided by the coffee shop...when I asked about it and even when I was ordering earlier, I felt like the worker was very indifferent to helping me so the service was just okay in my opinion. Overall, not my favorite coffee shop but the area is nice to walk around and parking isn't too hard to find on the side streets (including free parking), just be wary of some spots being only 2 hours if you're planning to stay longer. read more

The person taking my order was flat and didn't have a friendly/positive vibe which I didn't mind -- after all, we all have bad days. The issue came with the barista who made our drinks. I asked this barista for the restroom after I placed my drink order, so he/she knew I was in the restroom. While I was in the restroom, I could hear this person yelling my name repeatedly to pick up the drinks at the counter. My girlfriend who was sitting at a corner table was on the phone with her friend. This barista comes over to her with the most snarky, nasty tone and interrupts my gf on her phone conversation to say that "I've been calling!" and immediately turns around to go back to the kitchen. The vegan desserts here are amazing. It's no wonder there is often a line. Parking is fairly easy, usually you can find a meter in the area. The service is ok, they answered my questions - I inquired about their gold milk latte which is made with 2 shots of espresso (you can get half caff), your choice of milk (soy, oat and almond are available in addition to regular milk), and a blend of spices including turmeric, black pepper, cardamom, etc. it is kind of like a chai version of coffee. I didn't realize there is added sugar (agave), luckily I asked right before the barista made my drink because I prefer no added sugar. She was able to make it without. The flavor of the gold milk latte spices are strong, especially without the agave but I thought it was good and would get it again. read more

Was in the area and happened to come across this coffee shop. I always like trying new coffee shops so decided to check it out. Upon entering, I had no idea it was a vegan coffee shop. I was initially surprised that they only offered soy, almond, and oat milk as milk options. I always get almond milk anyway so that was no problem for me. I ended up getting an iced vanilla latte with almond milk. All their drinks come in one size only and I was a little disappointed with how small the drink turned out to be. I made a quick stop here on my way home from Berkeley to finally check out their delectable vegan baked goods. I was BLOWN AWAY by the selection! There were cakes, twinkies with icing, donuts, savory pastries, cookies, empanadas, croissants.... There was a line out the door so I had to make my decision quickly once it was my turn. I resorted to buying the pesto cheese roll, croissant, and chocolate chip cookie. I can definitely see why people come here and don't bother telling non-vegans that this place is vegan. It has been a long while since I've ever had a cheese roll thing of any kind. That pesto cheese roll was AMAZING!!! It definitely would have tasted better had I toasted it but it tasted so darn good I ate nearly half of it on my walk back to the car. The dough was similar to pizza crust; it was soft and chewy... my only regret was that I didn't wait to toast it! The croissant was super crispy on the ends and really flaky. It definitely lacked the butter flavor of traditional croissants (which is fine by me!) but the texture was spot on! I wish other coffee shops carried these regularly! The chocolate chip cookie was soft and not overly sweet. So because of that the cookie was a little too easy to eat all in a sitting. I wish I lived closer as I wouldn't mind making it a point to start my day here every day until I've tried everything in their display case. So far 3 for 3 were amazing, period! Not just "amazing for being a vegan thing". The cashier was super nice and very understanding of my decision paralysis. She was the one who helped me decide between the pizza roll vs pesto roll. I could have chatted with her all day if there weren't a long line behind me. I feel like I would consider moving here just for this darn coffee shop! Chill little place to grab some treaties and some coffees. Not sure how the actual vibe of this place is, cuz ya know, COVID and all that good stuff, but the staff was chill and they helped me out, cuz I never know what to order when I go to new Cafés, but they were helpful here. I mean, it's not like my orders are crazy or anything, I usually just get a freaking black coffee, but I need exposure to all the different, awesome regions of the planet so I can find which is truly the beeeeeest coffee.
