Great option for an elevated food court and choice of meal. The only down side is it can get busy and hard to find a seat but definitely worth it to try and visit all the options. There is also free water and good options for both alcoholic and mocktail drinks! It's also inside the Eaton mall center so you'll have to go inside to find it on the second floor

Overall: A+ // 6 stars Small sample size here as I went to the Paella stall only for a surprisingly impressive lunch. The Seafood Paella I ordered tasted as perfect as it looks. The mussels were cooked spot on, being so large and delicately tender, an impressive feat that is representative of all the seafood. The rice has an intense flavor development from the stock, herbs, and lemon, just being on the verge of al dente for a minimal bite for added texture. The rest of the market features food from every cuisine, and looks high quality for more options. On our last day in Montreal we were exploring the Underground City and wound our way to Time Out Market for lunch. What a great market. It is very similar to a food court with all types of ethnic foods, but elevated. We read the menus at each one and settled on Chanthy Yen. We ordered two dishes to share. One being the Tempura Battered vegetarian bao buns with cucumber and kimchi and the battered tofu General Tao with rice. Both dishes were fresh, cooked very well, had lots of Asian flavors and were delicious. The young woman that took our order was very nice, and the food came out fast. The entire Time Out Market is black and white, with lots of tables, is modern and clean. There is a beer counter, a wine counter, a bar and lots of little eateries. If you are staying at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, you can access the Underground City from the lower level of the hotel and walk to the Time Out Market. Will definitely try other Time Out Markets in other cities for sure.

We visited the Eaton Centre the day before and were disappointed with the food court selection, where we ended up overpaying for an overly saucy, super spicy chicken pad Thai and some A&W. It wasn't until later that we discovered the real action was upstairs at the Time Out Market. It definitely felt like we missed out, since we would have much rather spent our money there. We actually came back the next day just to eat at the Market. Parking was a headache--no street parking available ($4.25/hour), so we had no choice but to use the underground, which was a shocking $4.50 every 20 minutes. Finding a spot was also tough, with many cars squeezed into non-designated areas. After circling, we finally exited P2 and found available spots on P1, where fewer people seemed willing to risk re-entering the lot. Between parking and meals, we probably spent around $100 for four people. Food prices were steep--$24 for pizza, $18 for ramen, and $20 for a Caprese sandwich--but everything tasted great, definitely better than the regular food court. The vibes were fun and lively, though seating was hard to come by. I appreciated the little touches like self-serve water and buzzers for each order, which made it easy for one person to pick up food from multiple counters without waiting around. Overall, the food was delicious and the atmosphere enjoyable, but given the prices (especially with parking), it felt expensive for a self-serve setup. Still, it's a way better choice than the Eaton Centre food court.

We stopped in at Time Out Market while visiting the mall. Lots of variety. I'm pretty confident, if you are hungry, you will be able to find something to eat here. Three of the four of us had Indian food; it was delicious. It was loud in the dining area but it was super clean. We saw employees constantly emptying the garbage and wiping down the tables. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Montreal.

This is a high end food court offering a unique variety of restaurants -- not just the common restaurant chains. It's a good experience.

Located on an upper floor of the Eaton center, time out market is essentially an upscale food court that aggregates lots of the host city's best food options under one roof. The lighting is warm, the music is perfect for the setting, and I couldn't help but think as I wandered in, that this would be an ideal place for either a date, or taking a small family, as everyone could get their own choice of high quality food without having to really split off. I had the iberico ham sandwich, and a strawberry lemonade both of which were very good, at least better than you can expect from the typical mall food court, and well worth the price. The vieux Montréal cocktail was also a unique refreshing cocktail that incorporated caramelized absinthe foam (it's better than it sounds, I swear). A great stop for either a tourist checking out the sights, or a local on a date. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our visit to Time Out Market. We stopped for drinks once a few years ago, back when they first opened, and really enjoyed the quality bar. On this visit, we were excited to try the food as well. There were so many options to choose from, but our first stop was Climates. The salad was good but I wish it fit on the plate better, things were sliding off as we tried to eat. The poutine was very good. We also tried the lobster roll, and while I enjoyed all the elements, I wish they were more mixed together. The lobster was layered on top of mayo on top of greens in a way that made it hard to get everything in one bite, and some of my lobster fell off onto the table. When we were done eating, an employee kindly came by and offered to clear our plates. After we ate, we wanted to try some drinks. Unfortunately, the drink areas were very segregated. There was a closed off area by the cocktail bar with lots of seating which was all full. There was a mocktail bar kind of in the middle of the restaurant area. There was also a wine bar not far from the mocktail bar. I was able to grab a mocktail and sit at the wine bar while my husband had a glass of wine, but I wasn't entirely sure if I was supposed to do that. I wish that the drink options weren't so separated so that people in the same group could all enjoy different types of drinks and still sit together comfortably. On the plus side, my mocktail was very good and my husband enjoyed the international selection at the wine bar. On our way out, we stopped to get some cookies to go from tunnel espresso. They were a bit pricey at $5 a cookie, but well worth it. I'd recommend the chocolate brownie praline or the Oreo red velvet! All in all, I'd definitely come back to try more of the many food offerings!

The food here is solid and there's a lot of variety, which makes it a great spot if your group can't decide on one type of cuisine. Everything was clean and the service at most counters was fast and friendly. I liked the space overall, but the super loud house music playing across the whole market really killed the vibe for me. It was 6pm on a Thursday, the crowd was mostly 30s and up, and the volume made it hard to talk to the people I was with. It just didn't match the scene and made it harder to enjoy what's otherwise a cool food hall.

Montreal. I love Timeout Markets. I've been to a few in other cities: Boston, Chicago, Lisbon. I love the convenience, access to the city's local and international plates and for a few dollars more than fast food, you get super tasty, excellent meals. The setting is akin to a large market with communal tables-- feels like a huge family gathering as you more than likely will share a table. The concept is, you pick your food stall, order your food, they give you a buzzer and when the food is ready, you get buzzed, you pick up your food and eat at communal tables. The food quality is first rate, authentic and super delish regardless of what country or locale, you pick. I've not had a bad experience in any of the Timeout markets I've visited. Love it here. We arrived on a weekday at 11:30am and the seating area was very empty. But when we returned at 12:30pm, it was packed and almost difficult to find seating. We ordered a burger combo from Chez Simon to share since we weren't too hungry and the burger was satisfying. I liked how they give you a pager to pick up your order when it's ready so the food was freshly made, but also gave us time to find seating. Overall, the market had a very social vibe with the background music and dim lighting. Good good, but a bit overpriced considering it's like a food court.

Was very busy but had a good variety of options for everyone. I ended up getting Indian food and my husband got smash burgers. Both meals were wonderful! Definitely was hard to find seating during a Saturday lunch time but not a big deal.

The Market is located inside Eaton Centre, in the second floor. It's spacious and provides great selection of food, drinks and culinary experiences. You can find international cuisine like Indian food, Chinese & Vietnamese cuisine, BBQ meat, fast food, pizza. You can take pizza making and baking classes in a semi-private setting. They also have a separate bar section, limited to 19+. They also rent out a section of the bar for private events and gatherings.

Restaurants in Montreal with the name of an Italian region - 2 of 2…read more I had seen Restaurant Siciliana before. It is on Rue Stanley, not too far away from the Peel Metro Station. Rue Stanley always makes for a chuckle. I have known very few people with that name. However, it's the eponymous name of a (not even) B movie about someone's dangerous pet snake. I looked at the menu board at around lunch time. It seemed like a generic Italian restaurant, with a broad-based Italian menu and not one that was particularly Sicilian. But this was at lunch time, and I was walking down the street with something to do. I returned for dinner another day. Everything at Restaurant Siciliana was sort of perfunctory and ordinary. The interior is old school and has the red and white check tablecloths. The wood fired pizza oven is visible from the restaurant. They seat you quickly and I wanted to sit closer to the back and next to a wall, to which they obliged. Since I could not find a wall outlet, they were willing to charge my phone for me. I did not want a pizza. For that, I might go to dei Compari, which I very much like. I was looking for pasta. Since I couldn't see what it might look like or what others had ordered, I settled on the trio - three types of pasta. I've seen this done before at other Italian eateries and, within reason, they allow substitutions. Here, the wiggle room is not that much (that means no filled pasta or lasagna/e) and there is an upcharge for the allowed changes. I wanted to swap out a pasta with Alfredo sauce and they did so for another pasta that is also on their menu at the same price, but with a $3 upcharge (for U.S., divide by ~1.36). Is that that much of an inconvenience? Everything was ok - one in a Bolognese sauce, one in a rose' sauce, and one in a pesto sauce - except that the pesto sauce was a little oily and didn't sit with me. To drink, I had a ginger ale. I'm beginning to like that stuff. The service was good. It was also expedient, albeit a little reserved. This was a 3-star event and, going forward, I will continue to look for other Italian (and Sicilian) restaurants in the area. I would love to know of an authentic Sicilian restaurant in the agglomeration that is Montreal. The very first Italian restaurant at which I ate in Montreal was just up the street, at Stanely and Maisonneuve. Either a Chapters or a newer building went in. That restaurant was more of a diner, which explains why it wouldn't be there - close to the financial district - anymore. Change can be hard to accept. I remember that that was also the first time I had heard the term rose' sauce. This is what Eastern Canada refers to a pink tomato-cream sauce. The middle-aged dark-haired woman who helped me had to have been from the western part of Montreal or its island, spoke perfect English with mannerisms suitable for an Italian neighborhood the Northeastern U.S., and looked like Kaye Ballard. I would have preferred a restaurant like that to this one for the price-quality rapport of the food and a Rue Stanley/Financial District location. If you are a tourist and your time is metered, I might skip this one. If you are a local, you can try Restaurant Siciliana for pizzas and/or pasta and see if it suits you.

Inside this little place there are maybe a dozen tables ... mostly for two. The place was casual, unpretentious, and relatively inexpensive. Service was friendly and spot on. Now the owner who drew us in - whatever his name - does it all here. He seated us, we saw him clean off some tables, and he goes back and forth in the kitchen personally making each dish. He had only two helpers ... one doing dishes and the other helping wait the tables especially when he was fixing a plate. The meals are essentially light pasta with light sauces ... nothing much heavy here. It is meant to be a quick lunch spot, and only stays open a while after hours. The menu - posted in the front window - is written on a sheet of paper and usually is about 8 different pastas and sauces; after you sit at a table you will find that the current list is generally smaller as they have run out of stuff during the day. Be that as it may, it was pretty good food. We had the Canelloni Rossini (4 stars with a light red sauce), Penne Arrabbiata (4 stars with another very light sauce), and a Calypso Salad (4 stars with very nice greens). The big takeaway was that he can make any kind of quick pasta and put any one of his light sauces on it for a quick meal. The sauces were nice - very light but nice. The pastas could have been a bit fresher. Interestingly, they only take cash - and that is not mentioned on the front window. He does have an ATM machine inside to help you cover the cash, but he should really announce this out front, especially for all the tourists that are in Montreal. Our bill came to $70 and he wrote down $80 ... maybe he included the tip for us - don't know, but pay attention to your bill on the way out. In fairness, the prices are reasonable here - $4.95 for a glass of the house Chianti, and every one of the pasta meals were simply $9.95. Canoli were $6.00 each.
