We went to Bonsecours Market and was looking for somewhere to eat and most of the restaurants are closed since it was in between lunch and dinner and this place was open so we decided to go in. Our waitress let us to our table. She was very hospitable and she spoke very good English and told us that they have a salad bar part of our meal. I ordered a classic spaghetti with meat sauce and hubby ordered spaghetti with steak. My meal was amazing. They put a lot of meat sauce and the spaghetti was just cooked right not to soft not too hard. My hubby's steak was cooked perfectly. I also tried the tiramisu not too bad. I wish they put a lot of rum. lol. Chocolate cake was delicious. The place looks elegant and expensive, although the prices are not too bad. I recommend this place. read more

Yum!! Really good pasta. And I sort of judge all restaurants by how hot the food is when it's delivered. This was HOT!! The waitress was awesome. You also get a free salad bar, but it's kind of lame. It's right in the middle of old Montreal. read more

Cute spot in Old Port, Old Montreal. The placemat also served as the menu. I loved that there were fun facts scattered here and there. It also worked as conversation starters. Another interesting thing here is they have an unlimited self-serve salad bar for lunch (unsure about dinner). They had kale! There were a couple of salad dressings and a variety of toppings. What was memorable was the sweet, sweet corn. Bread and butter were served at our table. I didn't expect this for lunch. #14 Spaghetti with meatballs CAD$32 - The meatballs were good, but the spaghetti was lacking. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was just ok. (I had another Italian spot for dinner that night, and L'usine just didn't meet the bar.) The menu said this is the classic from L'usine. #19 Le Grand Prix CAD$38 - The lamb chops were pretty good! However again the pesto pasta was lacking again. Credit card/Apple Pay accepted. Bathroom is down the stairs. It reminded me of being under a pirate ship for some reason. Only indoor seating read more

Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing ambience. 4.4 Google rating. Over 3K reviews. Can't be wrong. Highly highly recommend. I chose this walking into old Montreal. So I had no set plans. And googled what was around and saw L'Usine and just decide to go in. Only when I was inside I saw the reviews so I was happy I chose this. Also all you can eat salad bar and bread. I asked if they made their pasta in-house but they said their kitchen is too small but they do buy fresh pasta locally. Need I say more. read more

My in-laws are a bit difficult to please but they lived this restaurant! Every dish was delicious and came with bread buns and free salad bar. You know what else, given it's in the heart of Old Montreal, it was very affordable. We made a good choice coming here. read more

Very convenient location close to the boat dock. Wide open dining room. Very good deal with all you can eat salad bar along with many choices of pasta. I choice the pasta with bolognese sauce. My husband chose the dish called McGill. This disk had a duck leg with it. Very good service by our waitress. She was the most pleasant and sunny outlook for a rainy afternoon in Montreal. read more

We got seated right away around 6 pm on a Saturday night immediately before a line of people had to wait around 30 minutes for a new table. Hostess kindly gave us the option between the front or back room in which we chose the front. Tables were unique with corks and plaques encased in a thick glaze. Drinks were exactly what we wanted which was Sangria verre (2X) and extra dirty martini. The cosmopolitan however, did have too much cranberry juice but that's up to personal preference. Complementary bread was served cold with garlic and herb butter. I loved the salad bar which offered tomatoes, chickpeas, beets, pasta salad, potato salad, and some rough/bitter kale. Entrees all sounded delicious but we decided on 19. Le Grand Prix, Lasagna, and 11. Les 100 Clochers. My friend loved the lamb chops over the bed of pesto pasta. The lasagna itself was good but the tomato sauce was a simply seasoned. I really enjoyed my flavorful and tender lamb shank but would have preferred more sauce to coat the linguini on the side. Overall, we had a wonderful time with the food, and phenomenal service. The all you can eat bread and salad when ordering an entrees left us leaving hearty and happy. I would love love to come again to this cozy and comfortable restaurant. Highly recommend! read more

Great choice for Italian food in Old Montreal. The pasta choices are numerous. The server was nice and told us about the restaurant, its history and the complimentary salad bar. The space has the exposed old and modern brick and lots of wood accents to make you feel like you are in a space that was occupied by the likes of Charles Dickens. read more

Date of visit: June 12, 2023 The ability to use OpenTable or the like at a restaurant is huge for me, especially when I am traveling--I don't want to waste time waiting for a table when I could be out exploring the city. L'Usine de Spaghetti is on OpenTable and we had a great time. The staff handles both languages well and the menus also serve as placemats while you dine. There were a variety of items to choose from and the meal started with warm bread--what could be better than that? I had the carbonara special, the menu board did advise that it was without cream, and I should have taken that to heart and went with something else. Not that it was bad, but it didn't have the same flavor that I have come to expect from a good carbonara and that disappointed me a bit. Everyone else loved their dishes, and the service was fantastic. Meals came with a visit to the salad bar, which was not great, if I am being honest. The macaroni salad did not have much flavor and the green salad options were not my idea of a good time. Overall though, a great meal here! read more

We found this place using Yelp. Food, service, location, and atmosphere were great. I love their spaghetti and salad bar.

Excellent food with full flavor. Friendly, efficient service and a goos variety of wines. Great location and decent prices considering all of the above. Pasta dishes were very good as we're salads. Go!! read more

I had a wonderful experience at lunch on a Saturday. I was seated immediately and chose a spot beside the wine cellar but looking onto Rue St -Paul E. The waiter was friendly and spoke English and French fluently. I initially noticed the unique style of the restaurant: old world but elegant. The salad bar didn't offer much, but it was complimentary with the meal. My pasta was a bit dull on flavor, but the portions are quite large. Service and the overall experience was good. read more

Service was very good. We were served by Abigail, she was very pleasant and answered all our questions regarding the menu. We ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and spaghetti with vegetables and sauce. The dishes were very good. They serve you a nice size portion. The salad bar is open access for those who order 2 entrees. We were not too impressed with the salad bar. Not much for buffet style servings. The dinner bread was stale. Pretty sad, as we love Italian bread. Finally, the ambiance was chill, very inviting, with nice music playing in the background. read more

We stumbled on this restaurant while we were in the Old Port district and we are ever pleased we did. From the moment we entered the restaurant the staff was friendly and polite. The food was amazing. Both my wife and son had the Filet Mignon and I had the Brazed Lamb Shank delicious. We were celebrating my son's 19 birthday and what a treat! I recommend very much. Sophie made our night one to remember! She is polite and a pleasure to deal with! Merci Beaucoup! read more

I had an excellent dinner here. The staff were great and quick, and the place is clean with a nice ambiance. The dim dining area gives you the feeling that your in a fancier establishment, it would be great for a date. I had pasta with a cream sauce, prosciutto, and endive. It was delicious without being too heavy. For dessert I had a caramel and chocolate cake that could not have been better. This area feels tourist-y but they definitely don't phone it in here, it was a lovely experience. If your looking for some great pasta and service I'd definitely recommend this spot! read more

Awe shucks! This place I came without any research. Lines were out the door, right smack in the beautiful old town Montreal. The only place with massive crazy long lines. Gotta be good right? Not even close. The line, the wait, getting the table part were the most exciting part of this dining experience. Staff work hard, fast and hard to reach. They were slammed. We were glad we got the table. But that was it. I came here on a trip to catch up with an old friend. We both flew in from California / West coast all the way. We were jet legged and tired from traveling so the cozy atmosphere was much appreciated. Food: All the stars went down in food. Escargot: best part. It's in parsley and better. Delicious. My friend's first time trying and she liked it a lot. Salad : a ok. We got arugula I believe. Appetizer: bruschetta: a ok, button mushrooms ( came cold) Lamb chop with spaghetti: lamb chop was the best part. Pasta came in pesto which I wasn't a fan of but still, it was too mushy of a pasta. Overcooked. The wine: good! We picked a bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio. Spaghetti meatballs: the worst dish. The sauce was like weird jar taste, giant tomatoes, not cooked well. Pasta was way over cooked and mushy. Cappucino: saving grace! (Took a while) Overall, we stayed way longer than we planned to because it was comfortable but also the service was super slow. We didn't get all our food till 2 hours after. Very slow/ they forgot about us. We were in the back room. Bright and pretty but still. The walls are covered with the famous/ my favorite hockey team: Montreal Canadiens photos! Their signatures! The most exciting part about this place. The food is solid 2 stars. Nothing tastes talian! Or good. If it's tasty, would've been great. Ambiance was nice, bright, old cottage charm but giant ceiling. Bathrooms are in the basement, Co-Ed. Service was friendly when you get ahold of the waitress. Tourist trap vibes. Definitely skip! read more

Overall was a good experience. The spaghetti was good, and fresh Parmesan on top was perfect. The service seemed a bit overwhelmed, perhaps down a person. We had to wait a while to get a second container of water. The restaurant was very hot inside. Overall good food and fine experience. read more

We wanted a mid-priced casual restaurant, one that wasn't too touristy - and we hit the jackpot. The prices, portions, ambiance, and service were all A+. We ordered the lasagna special and the ravioli with goat cheese. The lasagna had a bit more pasta than I usually go for, but the flavor was outstanding. The goat cheese ravioli was the hands-down winner. Both the filling and the sauce were superb - as good as or better than we've had in Italy. The salad bar was nice, albeit limited. The waiter was friendly, helpful, and just plain nice. If this restaurant were in the Boston area, we would be regulars. read more

This was my first time trying a pasta specialty shop in Montreal, and we ordered four types of pasta: lamb chop spaghetti, lasagna, seafood, and lobsters spaghetti. Overall, each dish had its own unique characteristics and was delicious. The lamb chops were tender and flavorful, and the pesto spaghetti was fresh and paired well with the lamb. We also enjoyed the rich and flavorful lasagna. The servers were very friendly and welcoming, and the decor of the restaurant was nice and comfortable. We felt relaxed while sitting there, even though it was a busy tourist area and we had to wait in line on a weekday evening. If you plan on eating here, it's recommended to make a reservation ahead of time to avoid waiting in line. read more

Visited old Montreal and had to make a stop here for dinner after hearing good things about it. Went around 6pm on a Saturday and there was a line which we expected, but we were seated within 30 minutes. Server was friendly and spoke both English and French. Entrees come with unlimited salad bar and bread. For our entrees we had the lasagne and the number 12 "Mount Royal". We enjoyed our main courses but were a bit unimpressed with the salad bar as they didn't have a huge selection. Overall it was a good meal. read more

Food is fine. Nothing great. Definitely not worth the price. Only one out of 5 really liked their mean and it was fetuccini alfredo. Kind hard not to like. Service was not great. Server was attentive at first but after bringing the food didn't come back until everyone had been done eating for 10 minutes. Didn't check to see how everything was. The white sangria tasted like they poured a hard seltzer into a wine glass with ice. Nice ambiance cute inside. read more

We first came to this restaurant in 2019. My (now) fiancé ordered one of the raviolis, which I had never truly cared for. He was nice enough to share, and low and behold it was honestly the best food I had tasted. It went down as the best meal we've had on a trip! We finally made it to Montreal back this year, and this was our first stop. We were so happy to see that the restaurant survived COVID, and the ravioli is still just as amazing. The other dishes are also very, very good, the ravioli just lives in our hearts 10/10 recommend read more

Food and Taste: The bread was not super fresh but was tasty with herbed butter and regular butter. The salad bar had quite a few simple options that were not over dressed which I appreciated it. The entrees were pretty large in size. The pasta is al dente and tasty. The lamb shank item had a large piece of meat. All items had a remarkable amount of meat for every item Cost: The food items are all delicious and range from $20-$30, but includes a free bread basket and complimentary salad bar. Very cost effective for a hungry dining party. The salad and bread is all you can eat Wait Time: We came Friday night around 730PM and did not have to wait which was incredible. We made a plan to come here for a dinner one evening. We had a minimal wait on a Saturday night but it was not longer then 10 minutes. After we sat we had some drinks which would be as you expect for a restaurant. The service was very quick and everyone was polite. The crowd was respectful and allowed for a very nice and calm dinner. The main attraction was the food! It was amazingly delicious and I would continue to go back if we could.
