1/2 pizza/1/2 Caesar salad
Deborah K.

This was our first visit to Restaurant Santa Lucia. We wandered in on a busy Saturday evening as the surrounding restaurants mostly had line-ups outside their doors. Santa Lucia only had one table filled, so we decided to give it a try. The interior is really dated, but looked very clean. There was the typical Italian music playing in the background and it had the ambiance of a 70s Italian restaurant. The tablecloths are plastic red-chequered. The waitress was very friendly and efficient. My husband and I asked if the pizzas were big enough to share, so she went and got a plate to show us the size. We decided to share a pizza and a Caesar salad, so she kindly offered to put half a pizza and half a salad on each of our plates. The pizza was really tasty, with a fairly thin crust (just as we like it) and plenty of toppings. We had the Amatriciana which had ham, bacon, onions, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was nice and crisp on the bottom and piping hot. The Caesar salad was fine. It was perfectly dressed and tasted great, by my one complaint was that the bacon bits were imitation. Other than that we had no complaints about the food. We would go back.

The Manicotti was the star of the show (right). Fettuccini Alfredo was good, and carafe of sangria. Plus garlic bread!

Really good food and solid service. A nice date spot on a busy weekend night. Big portions - Manicotti was star of the show.

The Italian food is probably the best that I've had in a long time. The custome service is great and you can tell the food was made with love. Try the sangria too. You will thank me later!

One of my go-to places for pasta and pizza. Their sauces are delicious and they have a variety to choose from. The price for main dishes vary from around 11-16$ which is relatively cheap for a place in downtown. However, their cakes are very disappointing so it's best to avoid them. The service is quick and the waitress is nice. The place has a cute italian decoration, but it looks outdated. The location is in the center of downtown so it's very convenient to go there.

I think they do a very credible job with all their dishes and they have been very consistent over the years. Located on Stanley street they are in the heart of downtown Montreal and within easy walking distance of most of the local hotels. The food comes out quickly from the kitchen or pizza oven; I have found the table service to be very good even when the restaurant has been busy. Santa Lucia represents a good dining value in the downtown area.

I was happy to randomly try this place after getting back to Montreal on the train. Location is near downtown and I just googled mapped near-by restaurants that were still open late. There are not a lot of pasta dish options, but I got exactly what I wanted. I ordered Penne Romanoff and tasted a bit of the Ravioli Basilicata. They were both tasty, the first one is with vodka sauce and the second one is stuffed with ricotta, tomato and spinach with a pesto sauce. If I have a vodka sauce craving I might come back for it! Staff was also super friendly and the resto had a homey welcoming feel with dimmed lights.

Wow, what a nice surprise! Quaint and authentic with food to match. Everything was light and fresh. Presentation made the 5 star experience. A nice break from the busy vibe of establishments near by. House wine great and priced right. I think I found a new favorite when craving Italian in Montreal.

Typical old Italian restaurant of Montreal. The salad looks good and great. The service is rapid and nicely done.

The Alfredo was DELICIOUS! It was not dry or super greasy like other pasta places I've gone and my group and I absolutely loved it

In Montreal on business for the third time, I had so much to do that I needed an evening meal where…read moreI could (a) sit alone; (b) have leftovers that would make a good breakfast at 6AM so I could skip stopping on the way to the office; (c) eat something tasty. No. 900 on the edge of old Montreal (I think it is on McGill St) was such a treat! I got to know, in a very little way mostly, and more extensively in one case, all of the staff that run the front of house. Delightful, all of them! Kind of a graduate student crowd, very efficient, friendly, smart, and pleasant to talk to. I don't drink so I didn't try beverages. I was in town for the week so got to try several pizzas. The one that says it is spicy, is SPICY. I was at my limit but the delicious outweighed the spice and I did end up eating it all (in two sittings, not one!). I especially liked the milder italian sausage pizza and so wanted to try more of them.

Wish they would have told us it was going to be last call before we tried to order one more drink. The server told us that the bar closed ten minutes ago, and was very apologetic. So we ordered another pizza to go. We also had our last meal there. It was a little busy and they were short-staffed so they did not come around much and it took a long time to get our food that time. But it was worth it. Pizza is very good. So we're the meatballs.

Montreal now has world class pizza! After many years of coming here and being forced to eat…read morepoutine, smoked meat, great steaks, and Canadian interpretations on various cuisines ... I now have a pizza option that rivals the best of NY, New Haven, and all the rest! Pizza Bouquet is labeled as a hybrid of other styles (NY and New Haven) and they are spot on ... more leaning to the NY version. This is exceptional pizza created by an energetic and passionate staff. I have only been there once, but in that short visit it was obvious that the pizza reflects the people that work there ... creative, fun, unique, and welcoming. They sell several great pies and actually offer both slices and whole pies. I ordered a pepperoni and hot pepper pie but as I sat there I had to get a slice of their upside down pie. While they were both outstanding, I have to say, what I cannot stop thinking about was that upside down slice. That was freaking magical. I would eat it there through because of the complexity and nuances of the actual pizza. Do not let this one sit ... trust me. Overall, this is a destination pizza in my book ,,, welcome to the world of pizza relevance Pizza Bouquet ... you guys do it right. Special shout out to the lovely ladies that danced through the entire preparation of my pie. Loved everything about this place!

New Montreal style pizza…read more Considering I've not heard of or tried "old Montreal style pizza"; just sayin'. The crust, similar to the NYC pie. Thin, gently crisp, some chew and char. Easily foldable. Follow it up with just the right amount of quality ingredients are brought together in just the right proportions with quirky flair. Upside down pizza (cheese first, sauce on top) or stranger still, a double carb potato pizza. Speaking of, the potato pie is so good. All the ingredients from a potato mille feuille with a hit of fresh rosemary and grana padano atop the well made crust. Rich, creamy, nuff said. Equally good the mushroom with its "mushroom cream" (think a thin duxelles) base, rosemary to season and meaty creminis and motz to round it all out. Finally the sopressatta. I mean, come on, who doesn't love a cheese pie made even more complex with goat cheese, honey and grana padano? Sold by the slice or whole 18 inch pie. Inexpensive. Is it better than the NYC pie? No. But it's definitely not as boring either.
