This is how they address their customers.

I have to expand my review to yelp because of how unprofessional the management is here. I had an extremely negative experience here and instead of correcting the issue management decided to gaslight me while claiming I'm disrespectful for not allowing them to be hostile towards me. I'm appalled by the lack of decency at this establishment. I understand it's a family-run business but they should learn how to handle a customers negative experience in a professional manner. Instead they insinuated I "played the race card." How ridiculous, childish and really shows how low they are morally. I suspected the waitress of being racist because of how she acted around us and her lack of competency. They blamed it on being Friday and busy, but that was a lie because they skipped over our table intentionally multiple times to serve both tables beside us. The other table wasn't even ready and their people were not even all seated at the table. If your waitress is incompetent in waiting tables then she should not be working busy nights. This is not my problem. When we were seated at our table. She dropped a bottle of water with no glasses and proceeded to wait the other tables (which didn't even have everyone seated yet). She knew what she was doing and was purposely ignoring us and giving attitude. I do not come into establishments with attitude or ego, so I was really put off by her behaviour. For the record, I did not say hi and waited for her to open her mouth to greet us. She didn't say a word. So they lied when they said that she did. I don't have the energy or the audacity to make up lies for a business that I actually LIKE the food. I'm not delusional. When I say she didn't do something, she didn't. And when I say i suspected racial hostility, I did. I don't care if you have Africans working in your kitchen as they mentioned in their reply. You treated me, a customer poorly. Don't use your employees as a shield, it's pathetic. We left after we had enough and clearly it was a hostile environment. I don't know what would happen to the food when it would come out and I did not want to find out. I SUSPECTED racism as I said, but your reply was alarming to say the least. I won't be patronizing here at all and this is a warning for others. They are extremely ill-mannered and unprofessional. This is my honest review of this establishment and my experience. Do not try to diminish/downplay my experience to compensate for your lack of professionalism.

**NOTE: CASH ONLY!!** Came here for the pizza which did not disappoint. It can be busy during the dinner rush so be mindful as the place isn't huge (you may feel a bit cramped in some tables). However the pizza itself was stellar! The 4 of us got a large Ruben pizza, and two 10" pizzas (Vegetarian and a gourmet artichoke pizza). The Ruben pizza was actually quite good (I've had some pretty mediocre ruben pizzas unfortunately) with a nice salty flavor. It also came with a side of Russian dressing and mustard to help enhance the flavor. Prepare your palate for a sodium overload though if this is the only thing you're eating!! The vegetarian pizza was also delicious and helped offset the salt from the Ruben and had a wide assortment of vegetables on it. My friends like the artichoke pizza (I was beyond stuffed at this point so I didn't partake) and they also really enjoyed it be told me that the sauce was while delicious, incredibly rich (we had to take half of it home). The crust was light and buttery and was definitely good enough to eat on it's own!

Adorable family/neighbourhood restaurant. It's super cosy and inviting. You descend these little stairs and you're welcomed by the lovely smell of pasta and pizza. Looking at their menu, I love that they offer you the choice of spinach vs white pasta. It's such a change because you usually never get to choose. I ordered the spinach pasta with meat sauce and my friend ordered the lasagna. We shared both and it was so delicious! Their lasagna is so cheesy, warm, comforting, and filling. Their spaghetti tastes fresh and the meat sauce is so well made. I don't like that they are cash only but at least the ATM fees are just 1.95$. A great place for a date, a friend lunch/dinner, a family meal, or a solo adventure!

We came down to Amelia's after multiple locals recommended it to us! I looked it up on Yelp, and decided on the list of things I wanted to try! Read here that it's BYOB and that sealed the deal. Ordered the French Onion Soup & a Small White 5 Cheese Pizza to share with the husband. Quality of ingredients was excellent!! We are in love with cheese, and the amount and type of cheese in the Soup & on the Pizza was a literal dream come true! The portions are huge, so these two items were more then enough for us and we ended up taking a few slices home! The ambiance and service were a 10/10. Would definitely recommend this spot to everyone. Definitely worth making the effort to this part of the town for dinner! P.S. It's Cash Only.

You can't go wrong with Amelia's. It's a great little pizza place in the McGill ghetto and their pizza is amazing! They deliver or you can order take out. Last time I was there, I ordered the onion soup, like always, and it's really good and cheesy, as it's supposed to be. I've had their lasagna in the past, which was very tasty and, well, you can't go there and not order a pizza. It's a good place for date night, to hang with friends or to go out with the family. It's really cute and tastefully renovated inside. Did I mention it's BYOB? Like, does it get better than that? Just make sure to bring cash; they do not accept cards.

5 slices on 5! They deserve around of applause due to having the best pizza in Montreal! -quality Ingredients -unique If you're a pizza fan and are fed up with that cardboard crust and cheap cheese then give them a ring! The white pizza (Blanca) is out of this world (my personal fav) The amount of cheese they put on this lovely pie is super and they mix it with cheese of course, I can see why it's the most popular. The Reuben is so unique I've yet to have anything like this i was craving smoked meat and boy did they deliver plus they give to types of sauces mustard and a sweet mayo which is hard to beat. You will be extremely full but you will be overly satisfied.

Clearly I had to eat here! I mean who wouldn't want to try a place with their name involved?! Amelia's is a busy little family style owned restaurant in Montreal that is a BYOB policy! It's tucked in more on a side street than a usual busy street. We walked in on a Thursday night and they were packed, luckily we were able to get one last table to accommodate the 5 of us. This cheese ravioli dish was everything! This dish was made to perfection, my friend and I shared the dish and honestly I wish I got my own because it was just soo good! The pizza on the other hand didn't appeal to me as much, I've definitely had better bbq chicken pizza. The breading was personally a little too dry for me. But overall, cute little restaurant where id definitely recommend the cheese ravioli!

Pleasantly impressed by this Italian restaurant. I went here a while back with my husband and some friends. Our waiter was very accommodating and i could feel that genuinely wanted to serve us well and make sure we have a good time. I ordered the lasagne, and was left astounded by how perfect it was. There was flavor, texture and a whole lot of cheese (yay!) They also served us a little simple salad before our main course which I happened to try (I normally skip salads when I have a heavy main course coming). I enjoyed every bit of it and infact recreate the same at home often. I'm already excited to go there again and I would be lying if I say I didn't already decide what I want the next time I visit, the same night I dined here. Kudos to this place and the staff! Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

The only reason I don't give Amelia's five stars is because of the main dish I ordered :( I got the cheese Ravioli with tomato sauce. I was so excited because I love ravioli, but this dish left me hungry for a lot more flavor. It was so disappointing to eat this last because everything I received beforehand was so yummy! I also ordered the French onion soup as a side (about $6.75)-- Wow wow WOW!! Amazing. You might not even need a main dish after this soup. Then, I had no idea but when you order a pasta dish (or probably any dish) you also get fresh hot bread with a side salad! The soup, bread and salad were my favorite parts. ALSOOOOO, this is a BYOW restaurant, so do that. It makes the experience even more fun. Overall though, we were seated quickly and our waitress was very attentive to our needs. I was so happy we found this little Italian restaurant (-:

Good spot if you like American style (thick) pizza. Had the penne arrabbiata which was very average (and full of olives, which is not typical) but the half sausage and half mushrooms pizza was very good. Had the cheesy garlic bread as well as a starter, which was good but the cheese wasn't broiled enough. The tiramisu for dessert was yummy. Also very convenient that this place is BYOB. Ca$h only. Restaurants in Montreal with the name of an Italian region - 2 of 2…read more I had seen Restaurant Siciliana before. It is on Rue Stanley, not too far away from the Peel Metro Station. Rue Stanley always makes for a chuckle. I have known very few people with that name. However, it's the eponymous name of a (not even) B movie about someone's dangerous pet snake. I looked at the menu board at around lunch time. It seemed like a generic Italian restaurant, with a broad-based Italian menu and not one that was particularly Sicilian. But this was at lunch time, and I was walking down the street with something to do. I returned for dinner another day. Everything at Restaurant Siciliana was sort of perfunctory and ordinary. The interior is old school and has the red and white check tablecloths. The wood fired pizza oven is visible from the restaurant. They seat you quickly and I wanted to sit closer to the back and next to a wall, to which they obliged. Since I could not find a wall outlet, they were willing to charge my phone for me. I did not want a pizza. For that, I might go to dei Compari, which I very much like. I was looking for pasta. Since I couldn't see what it might look like or what others had ordered, I settled on the trio - three types of pasta. I've seen this done before at other Italian eateries and, within reason, they allow substitutions. Here, the wiggle room is not that much (that means no filled pasta or lasagna/e) and there is an upcharge for the allowed changes. I wanted to swap out a pasta with Alfredo sauce and they did so for another pasta that is also on their menu at the same price, but with a $3 upcharge (for U.S., divide by ~1.36). Is that that much of an inconvenience? Everything was ok - one in a Bolognese sauce, one in a rose' sauce, and one in a pesto sauce - except that the pesto sauce was a little oily and didn't sit with me. To drink, I had a ginger ale. I'm beginning to like that stuff. The service was good. It was also expedient, albeit a little reserved. This was a 3-star event and, going forward, I will continue to look for other Italian (and Sicilian) restaurants in the area. I would love to know of an authentic Sicilian restaurant in the agglomeration that is Montreal. The very first Italian restaurant at which I ate in Montreal was just up the street, at Stanely and Maisonneuve. Either a Chapters or a newer building went in. That restaurant was more of a diner, which explains why it wouldn't be there - close to the financial district - anymore. Change can be hard to accept. I remember that that was also the first time I had heard the term rose' sauce. This is what Eastern Canada refers to a pink tomato-cream sauce. The middle-aged dark-haired woman who helped me had to have been from the western part of Montreal or its island, spoke perfect English with mannerisms suitable for an Italian neighborhood the Northeastern U.S., and looked like Kaye Ballard. I would have preferred a restaurant like that to this one for the price-quality rapport of the food and a Rue Stanley/Financial District location. If you are a tourist and your time is metered, I might skip this one. If you are a local, you can try Restaurant Siciliana for pizzas and/or pasta and see if it suits you.

Inside this little place there are maybe a dozen tables ... mostly for two. The place was casual, unpretentious, and relatively inexpensive. Service was friendly and spot on. Now the owner who drew us in - whatever his name - does it all here. He seated us, we saw him clean off some tables, and he goes back and forth in the kitchen personally making each dish. He had only two helpers ... one doing dishes and the other helping wait the tables especially when he was fixing a plate. The meals are essentially light pasta with light sauces ... nothing much heavy here. It is meant to be a quick lunch spot, and only stays open a while after hours. The menu - posted in the front window - is written on a sheet of paper and usually is about 8 different pastas and sauces; after you sit at a table you will find that the current list is generally smaller as they have run out of stuff during the day. Be that as it may, it was pretty good food. We had the Canelloni Rossini (4 stars with a light red sauce), Penne Arrabbiata (4 stars with another very light sauce), and a Calypso Salad (4 stars with very nice greens). The big takeaway was that he can make any kind of quick pasta and put any one of his light sauces on it for a quick meal. The sauces were nice - very light but nice. The pastas could have been a bit fresher. Interestingly, they only take cash - and that is not mentioned on the front window. He does have an ATM machine inside to help you cover the cash, but he should really announce this out front, especially for all the tourists that are in Montreal. Our bill came to $70 and he wrote down $80 ... maybe he included the tip for us - don't know, but pay attention to your bill on the way out. In fairness, the prices are reasonable here - $4.95 for a glass of the house Chianti, and every one of the pasta meals were simply $9.95. Canoli were $6.00 each.
