Calamari! A great appetizer
Ellie A.

We were looking for a restaurant to celebrate my older daughter's birthday for a large group. This place was recommended by a family member. I had researched it beforehand, and with all the excellent reviews and its prime location, I booked a table for 8. Let me tell you, it is one of THE best restaurants we've dined at here in Montreal. Location: It is nestled on the heart of Old Montreal- one of the prettiest parts of the city. Parking spots are found on the street- but be careful as this touristy part is notorious for giving out tickets. The best is to park in the science center garage close by - it's a bit pricy for $35 to park but you will not lose patience scavenging for a spot! The walk is also nice too. The service: We immediately were greeted by a hostess and seated at our table. We had a friendly waiter who provided great suggestions and pairings. He made sure to check on us through our dinner which we really appreciated. Food: Now the best part... the food was delicious!! We had a few appetizers to start: crispy calamari, arancini and a Caesar salad. They pride on their pizza being "authentic" Italian and after taking one bite, you can say yes it is! The crust is cooked to perfection, and they have many selection- we chose a classic margarita for the kids - and salame for the adults. Both were gobbled up quickly! Finally, we had said it was for a birthday celebration. And they brought out two beautiful dessert pizzas!!! I've NEVER tried anything like that before. They were absolutely delicious. Not only did we get one, but TWO which was more then enough for each member in our group to have one (and in my kids case, two or three haha). It was a major highlight to the night! So I definitely recommend coming here to celebrate special occasions as it will leave a memorable mark for you and each guest. I will definitely be back again soon!!!

**Vegetarian Friendly** Massive restaurant, which is great for tourists, large groups, and all ages. We didn't have a reservation, and waited for 10 minutes at peak 7pm weekend dinner time. Service was fast, pizza was delicious. The pasta at the neighboring tables looked delicious too . Margherita Pizza - good, but nothing spectacular. No flop/soggy middle. Formaggio di Capra e Spinachi - delicious with the goat cheese and sundried tomato combination. It was soggy in the middle but the flavors made up for it! Overall - great place if you're looking for pizza and pasta!

Pasta was handmade. Shrimp was not the freshest. Amount of shrimps, clams and scallops could have been more generous for the price. Drink was good, but contained too much ice, not enough of the real stuff. Service was initially good, but as the evening got busier, I sat for 10 min waiting for the check, after he already asked me if I needed anything else and I answered no. Would be better for groups than single person.

We so enjoyed our dinner here. The pizza was comparable wood fired pizza that we can find in California at the Italian restaurants popping up all over in the last decade or so. Great crust and tasty not too sweet tomato sauce base. The calamari we had to start was some of the freshest we have had. Salad was amazing and so was the chicken Parmesan. I love the look of the restaurant inside. It was so cozy and inviting with the stone walls. Service was perfect. Just attentive enough and not rushed. We'll be back next time we visit Montreal!

We stopped by BEVO without a reservation and were seated after a short wait--about 15 minutes. We sat outdoors and the ambiance was lively. We ordered the mushroom truffle risotto and the mushroom and chicken pizza. The risotto was good: rich, creamy. The pizza, however, was just okay. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't really stand out. Overall, a decent place.

One word, Rafael! His service was so amazing. It made the experience even more amazing. We came on a Saturday night and the place was obviously packed! It's in a very cool hip area of old town and the people watching was phenomenal! We ordered a pizza and a salad, and it was plenty of food for two of us, but the other dishes people had ordered and looked amazing as well. And the best part was that we were right across the street from the cloakroom so we had our drinks and waited for the speakeasies to call us meanwhile. Definitely come here best pizza best service!

Visited this local restaurant near Old Town Montreal right when opening with a reservation as they got quite full minutes after. Service was excellent, our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Incredible Italian food with many options. Ambiance fits the vibe of the town around it, very much enjoyed all aspects of this place.

Quick and friendly lunch service. Food is top notch. Pizza came out fast and fresh. Setting is very gorgeous.

Delicious pizza with crust cooked over the fire.

Today me and my aunt stopped by BEVO Bar + Pizzeria. When we got there, we had to wait about 30 seconds outside to be seated. Once in, I expected an extensive wait time given the number of customers, but was quickly surprised when our server Rafael brought us our pizza in under 10 minutes. The food was great! The environment is very energetic and warm. It has two stories, both of which music played through.

Grabbed a quick lunch at this place across from our hotel. Everyone we walked by it was busy so we figured it had to be good and we were correct. The outside seating allowed us to enjoy lunch while watching those walking by. We had meatballs which was in a nice sweet and salty taste. The pizza was thin crust -cooked but not burnt. The pepperoni was actually just spiced nice. Only a few bugs (since we were eating outside) distracted us from giving this a five. Not the restaurants fault but it did impact our overall rating. Would still eat here again without question.

Great food. Wonderful service. Eat outside if you want to people watch. We enjoyed our lunch here very much. Prices are similar to others in the area.

The restaurant itself is huge and multi-level inside, but since I was joining dinner, we settled onto the large patio out front. I respect their understanding of VIP service. Mom ordered the penne with prosciutto and mushrooms, covered in Parmesan, along with a Diet Coke. Now, I don't like to pull rank, but I am an Italian Greyhound sitting at an Italian restaurant while someone eats prosciutto directly in front of me. Surely there are laws governing this. Apparently not in Canada. Mom said the pasta was delicious. I spent dinner alternating between relaxing on my cooling mat and staring upward in a manner I felt clearly communicated, Perhaps the tiny Italian gentleman would like some prosciutto? No response. Still, this turned out to be a great easy option for a late dinner with a dog. The patio is spacious, I was genuinely welcomed, and the staff made sure I had plenty of water. Sometimes that's exactly what traveling pups need. Dogba's verdict: 4 paws out of 5. Santa Lucia only had one table filled, so we decided to give it a try. The interior is really dated, but looked very clean. There was the typical Italian music playing in the background and it had the ambiance of a 70s Italian restaurant. The tablecloths are plastic red-chequered. The waitress was very friendly and efficient. My husband and I asked if the pizzas were big enough to share, so she went and got a plate to show us the size. We decided to share a pizza and a Caesar salad, so she kindly offered to put half a pizza and half a salad on each of our plates. The pizza was really tasty, with a fairly thin crust (just as we like it) and plenty of toppings. We had the Amatriciana which had ham, bacon, onions, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was nice and crisp on the bottom and piping hot. The Caesar salad was fine. It was perfectly dressed and tasted great, by my one complaint was that the bacon bits were imitation. Other than that we had no complaints about the food. We would go back.

Cafe Presto was a unique little storefront restaurant. We were standing around outside wondering…read morewhere to go have dinner when the owner of this little place stuck his head out and said "come on in." With such a quirky start, we did just that. Inside this little place there are maybe a dozen tables ... mostly for two. The place was casual, unpretentious, and relatively inexpensive. Service was friendly and spot on. Now the owner who drew us in - whatever his name - does it all here. He seated us, we saw him clean off some tables, and he goes back and forth in the kitchen personally making each dish. He had only two helpers ... one doing dishes and the other helping wait the tables especially when he was fixing a plate. The meals are essentially light pasta with light sauces ... nothing much heavy here. It is meant to be a quick lunch spot, and only stays open a while after hours. The menu - posted in the front window - is written on a sheet of paper and usually is about 8 different pastas and sauces; after you sit at a table you will find that the current list is generally smaller as they have run out of stuff during the day. Be that as it may, it was pretty good food. We had the Canelloni Rossini (4 stars with a light red sauce), Penne Arrabbiata (4 stars with another very light sauce), and a Calypso Salad (4 stars with very nice greens). The big takeaway was that he can make any kind of quick pasta and put any one of his light sauces on it for a quick meal. The sauces were nice - very light but nice. The pastas could have been a bit fresher. Interestingly, they only take cash - and that is not mentioned on the front window. He does have an ATM machine inside to help you cover the cash, but he should really announce this out front, especially for all the tourists that are in Montreal. Our bill came to $70 and he wrote down $80 ... maybe he included the tip for us - don't know, but pay attention to your bill on the way out. In fairness, the prices are reasonable here - $4.95 for a glass of the house Chianti, and every one of the pasta meals were simply $9.95. Canoli were $6.00 each.

Hmmm, I've never gone to a restaurant where they don't offer menus, until this one. I personally…read moredid not like this, but whatever floats your boat and makes you happy.
