HUGE portions, although I like that they have smaller size options for a lot of dishes. The Milan Spritz was super tasty and so pretty. Large group of us stopped in on a Thursday evening and we were able to get seated fairly quickly! We were confused with the vibe of the restaurant but the music was good, there were football games on rhe TV and a variety of pasts, pizzas, salads and other offerings on the menu. Our table ordered the truffle gnocchi (name escapes me now) and the pesto chicken pasta....The pesto chicken pasta was our favorite. I was tired that day since I just moved into university so I thought I misread the menu but I went home and searched the menu online and saw that I was right. Not only that, the server asked if we wanted tap or sparkling water and we got the sparkling water not knowing it costed $7 since the waiter never told us. So shallow and low plus this place is located near many universities, ripping off students. Entoneca, if you're reading this give me back the price difference for the $19 and $49 and my tip back since I paid 15% tip of the scamming price. Oh also the food didn't even taste good. Service 2/10: we were seated quickly because we had a reservation but that was probably the only good thing about the service. We were seated and waited 30 minutes to even be acknowledged or served water. Every time we were served an item, it was someone different. We were never given a refill of our water unless we flagged someone down. Food 6/10: literally nothing special. Quality went down since my last few visits to this same location. My drink tasted like soapy water and I had to go back and forth with the server to replace it. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially for a birthday dinner. I came with my partner we were in a really good mood. We've ordered from Enoteca home before and liked it so we decided to go there in person. I ordered the ossobucco and arancini balls--both were pretty good! (Although the meat was a little dry but didn't get in the way of my meal). What did get in my way was the service. Man. Our waitress seemed to be serving everyone in the restaurant AND bartending while four other waitresses were chit-chatting and doing nothing. That wouldn't have been an issue but it took forever to get served! We had to wait to be able to even ask for the cheque for so long we considered getting up and leaving (don't judge it was 20 minutes to just ASK for the cheque). I've visited the restaurant on Sunday noon.The venue is in the middle of the construction works, but in very center in downtown Montréal, so I was expecting a certain level of standard. I've ordered some starters, bread, salmon al forno. They didn't bring the menu, you have to download on your smartphone. The waitress came back later staring there is no salmon today, also they do no have bread as well. Behind a couple also ordered some wine but it was not available. The food was pretty decent and well priced. I recommend the pasta. They served pizza too. The pasta al mare has shrimps, mussels, clams and well cooked. Also the garlic shrimps were very good But no Parmesan, no salt, no pepper ? The waitress excused herself, they were short staffed, which I accepted. Why didn't I order spaghetti with meatballs? Watching other plates go by I figured out what to order a little too late. This is a Cheesecake Factory of Canada. Food is mild, drinks are light. They pump house music but families bring their kids. Seating is great for large groups. Bathrooms are upstairs which is a little weird. Food fires out of the kitchen very fast. They could teach Olive Garden how to do a better job. But OG tastes better. There are raw red onions in the bruschetta even though it's not written in the menu. The spaghetti pomodoro is bland unless you add chicken or something else. The lasagna doesn't look how it's described but tastes really good. From the Yelp listing I thought it would be more intimate for a nice date but it's really an eat and run type place. From the outside it looks way cooler than the experience. read more

Came here for a work lunch as a large group and we were very well accomodated. This restaurant is large, with a big terrace in the summer and has a second floor that is perfect for groups. The location is very ideal downtown and steps away from our office. Monza has a diverse Italian menu that offers a range of woodfired pizzas, paninis, pastas, salads and meat plates. I got to try the chicken panini served with garlic fries and a bit of their calabrese (spicy sausage) pizza- both were delicious. My sandwich had a thick pan seared crusted chicken breast, house pesto, tomato, lettuce and provolone. I only ate half as I found the portion quite generous. I would recommend getting a salad instead of fries if you want a lighter lunch. As for the pizza, these are thin crusts with also generous toppings and the dough has a beautiful taste only wood oven will achieve. With a menu that is easy to please and a great ambiance, this is great spot for any occasion. Prices range 15-30$. They have a location in Centropolis Laval, West Island (DDO) and newly opened in St-Bruno too, so definitely worth checking out if you are off the island. The pizza here is on point! We had the Arancini Classico as a starter, along with their house Cesar and a Beer. The Arancini was great, nice crispy exterior with a great interior, while the accompanying marinara was flat and uninteresting in comparison. The Monza Cesar also fell flat, there wasn't much noticible difference from a regular Cesar, prompting us to wonder if we had even ordered the Monza Cesar. For mains we had the Osso Buco, and the Manzo pizza. Both were great, although the Osso Buco was a bit on the dry side. Pizza was outstanding though: thin crispy crust, just the right balance of toppings, and overall well cooked and prepared. The downside to the whole experience was the really painful service: We arrived to have an early dinner, at ~16:45 on a Friday with only a handful of customers in the restaurant. We're greeted well, but then not given any choice to where we'd like to sit despite the restaurant being 80% free. When seated, it took ~10 minutes to get a waiter to ask if we want anything, and we ask for water to start. This takes ~ 10 minutes (during which we tried to ask a couple other waiters, who would look at us and then walk away), and arrives with our bread plates (the bread never showed up though, but it was nice to have an extra small plate!). Our Arancini arrives quickly after ordering, but takes a while for the table to be cleared. We notice that our waiter also seems to be doubling as the bartender for all the other waiters, while there is 2-4 waiters at any time grouped at the end of the bar, chatting, waiting for our waiter to make them the drinks for their customers. After our starter is cleared, our mains arrive shortly after. (Food service scheduling is really good!). Our waiter is still doubling their role as the bartender. We finish eating and it takes a while again to get the attention of our waiter, who checks in to ask if everything is ok (we're done our meal so a bit too late). We ask for our bill, which takes another ~10 minutes, as the waiter is again bartending, with most of the other servers waiting on them for their drink orders. We get our bill, and the waitress leaves the payment terminal at our table for us to finish payment. We wait ~3-5 minutes after paying, but as they don't return to collect (or even verify that the payment was complete!) We leave, and I place the payment receipt from the terminal under the machine. Overall impression is that the food is great, but there seems to lack any sort of floor management, leading to pretty poor service, as the waiter serving us seemed to be juggling roles. The vibe is upscale bistro, and seems like it would be a real hit if the service was better organized. Go for the food, not the service. read more

Went here for a birthday dinner. First off, the place is big with 2 floors so it's great for groups and the decor is really nice. We were sitting on the top floor which I found was the best spot, and there was a tv next to us too which was great for me to catch some parts of the game. I got the arancini cheese balls and a crispy chicken panini. I didn't know what to expect but I really did enjoy both of them. The service was good too, especially since we were a big group. This is a great Italian eatery cornered near Place Ville Marie near McGill University. We go here quite often as our go-to Italian place for it's tasty dishes and affordability. This is the original Enoteca and they have just opened a second one in West island. Our group got hot lasgna, two oven baked pizzas: pepperoni and italian sausage. I ordered penne with pesta sauce always a fan favorite. Although situated in the heart of Montreal's DT, it servers are very bilingual as this place is as popular for tourists too. You can't help the fact that the restaurant is anchored by a large bar in the back with its back glass from the floor to the ceiling. We could have eaten on it's terrasse but it was a little windy this late summer so we opted for the cozier interior not from the bar. Don't recommend for travellers. My family and I went to have dinner at this restaurant. The food was ok/good. The four cheese pizza tasted so bad we hardly ate it. Everything else was enjoyable. We were a party of 5 adults with two small kids and are visiting from out of the province. The waiter brought our bill and we noticed there was a charge that almost seemed to be 15%. We assumed it was the TIP included and paid our bills leaving a little more than the balance. I want to mention that the server brought our bills before we were even served our desert, meaning we paid before we finished eating. That's the first rude action. She charged my family member for a drink she FORGOT to bring and a drink they didn't order. After fixing her error, before even bringing the desert, the server brings BACK the bill and puts it on the table sliding it at us saying "the tip is not included, that's the tax. You only left six dollars" we said "oh?" Partly because it surprised us and partly because I didn't understand why she was saying it like that, with such haste. She then proceeded to say " if you don't pay more I'll have to pay out of my pocket to everyone here" and gave us back our cash. She then repeated "you only left 6$ and the minimum is 15%" We were so shocked because I've never had a server demand a tip like that. A tip is a gratuity and courtesy and although she was initially very nice she behaved so rudely and entitled for a tip. It both upset and shocked our entire group, it took us a second to even think to figure out what the gratuity should be. Nevertheless after eating our desert we tipped the waiter as we would have anyhow (the restaurant takes money out of her pocket, what kind of place does that?).
