Upon touching down in Montreal, we were in need of a late night food option after a delayed flight. Pub Saint Pierre to the rescue! We walked in, appreciating the intimate atmosphere of the space. It was packed at about 10:30pm. We each ordered a beer, along with poutine and a hot dog to share. The poutine was exactly what we needed, and a huge portion allowing us to have some leftovers the next day. The hot dog came with either fries or a salad, we opted for salad since we already had poutine. All in all, a good late night eats option in a cool atmosphere.

St. Pierre may not be redefining Christmas dining, but these folks were OPEN on Christmas Day offering more than just a meal when 99% of eateries were closed in Montréal. After 3 hours of driving from Saratoga Springs to here, we wanted bites. Savior! What we also got was a festive experience right down to 80s Wham! Depeche Mode, Culture Club British Pop playing loud. All good. This is the type of place where you gather with family, friends or strike a convo with somebody. The setting is straight up pub that combines a fun atmosphere, wood decor, nice food+beer menus and a cozy vibe. While our cocktails read terrific on paper, they were watered down and ice-drown drinks that had no buzz. I'd go for wine. Service is terrific though. Our meals of Miso-Glazed Salmon on noodles+ mushrooms and my Lobster Grilled Cheese+tomato bisque also hit gold.

We wanted one last poutine before heading home to the US. So after some quick searches online we found Pub Saint Pierre in Old Montreal. Cozy pub environment with a tennis match on live TV. We happened to arrive right when Happy Hour started which is from 4 pm -7 pm every day. I had a Rousse beer for $7 Canadian. Oysters were on $2 CD each so we had a dozen. They are served with lemon, a vinaigrette, freshly shaved horseradish-not pickled, some very, very spicey hot duck sauce(?) and Tabasco. The oysters were very tasty. Be forewarned on that deceiving innocent looking duck sauce! We also had poutine with beef and it was more than ample to share and it was just what we were looking to fill our bellies with for our journey home.

We stopped here for Beer and Poutine after our River tour. A smaller, cozy Bar that was loud and sold out around 6:45 Monday except for a couple of stools at the Bar. Tight spaces and corners finish the neighborhood Bar vibe. A good variety of Scotch/Whisky, Tequila/Mezcal, Bourbon/Rye and Signature Cocktails to name a few-the ingredients were displayed and in full view. We ordered a couple of New England IPAs and enjoyed this local brew that wasn't too hoppy. Shared a Bacon Poutine and one of our party that had never tried Poutine loved it. Good balance of Cheese Curds to fries and not too much gravy. Service was friendly and fast. By the time we left an hour later, the rush was over. They offer a full menu along with Late Night and Brunch. Olde Town Bar that's worth the stop!

Oh look! Another bottomless brunch review from Raylene! So here's the thing about Montreal, every day can be bottomless brunch! The temptation to do it every day is insane but NO! Only Sunday!! So here I am on a chilly Sunday. Much like many NYC venues, it's a cozy place, perhaps 11 tables, 50 seats total. It seems like Felix was the only server for the entire place but not one moment of service was lagging! My bottomless mimosa remained filled the entire time, the food came out piping hot and he had a smile the entire 2 hours! From the beginning, my mimosa was significantly more juice than champagne but I asked for an adjustment and immediately they became more opaque. While I had my mimosas, my husband had the Bloody Mary, a screw driver and Moosehead beer. No complaints. My husband and I shared the Ham and Gruyere bagel with beets and greens and poached eggs. I don't even know what it was called on the menu but it was hot and crispy and mouth wateringly delicious. *chefs kiss* I do love a good clean bathroom and these were perfect. I would 100% come back the next time I'm here and recommend that if you're in Montreal you add it to you "must do" list!

In town for work and decided to take a walk to old Montréal. Walked by this cute pub and looked at Yelp and saw it had awesome reviews! So cute inside, chill and relaxing, very cool vibe. Everyone is so friendly, seated right away. I got the signature cocktails elderflower tonic, first sip I thought it was a little sweet but after a little while it was good! Very refreshing. I got the classic poutine but added bacon! When it came I was shocked how big the bowl was, and the bacon was like huge chunks!!!! Omg!! So good. Wow. Damn. Overall stop by! They have a lot of local beers on tap, fantastic service and amazing food!

Gyoza and MTL steak seasoned fries
    Erika T.

Service was hands down the best past of this experience. The gyoza was good, but the red curry peanut sauce was a little too much peanut and too little curry. The fries were a bit over cooked and needed salt. The MTL steak seasoning was more like a few sesame seeds sprinkled on the fries. It didn't do much to add to the flavor.

Delicious short rib with amazing flavor!

Our last night in town and we're really glad we stopped in here. It was busy but it ended up being trivia night, of course we had to stay. Our server was really sweet and really handsome dang. Ordered oysters, very fresh cold and tasty, with a toddy and an old fashioned, both delicious. Stayed for the trivia so ordered blond beers and a crazy grilled lobster grilled cheese with tomato soup and the cauliflower macaroni and cheese. Tasted even better than it sounds! Cool music, great staff and a pretty excellent menu, We're coming back f

    Open faced pulled pork sandwich

Aww this place . My first time here. As a special, they had a very unusual open-faced pulled pork sandwich with chipotle mayo and an egg??? Wtf I have to try this! It came with fries and a salad. It was so good! Had one of their mounty manhattans with it. I felt an appropriate price for the experience I got. Very nice and chill vibe inside. Would come back and would recommend to a friend.

My husband and I were looking for a low key bite on our first night in Montreal and stumbled across this place as it was within walking distance of our hotel. Once you walk in, you can tell it's a popular watering hole in the area. We ended up staying for a while because they were hosting trivia that night. We had a blast playing while munching on some poutine and having a couple cocktails. Definitely a great place to try!

Even those with more casual interest in beer probably know that DDC makes really great drinks. And yep, they were excellent. I wasn't there to do a long session, so I got a couple tasters, one including Peche Mortal and the other a NEIPA. Two very different styles and both extremely well done. Beyond that, the space had a very old-fashioned look. Really nice wooden fixtures and a very warm, welcoming vibe. The server was also attentive and friendly, but also knew when to let people sit back and enjoy their drinks. You probably don't need me to tell you, but yes, you should go.

He expressed interest in hitting up some breweries, so I did some research and compiled a few we could potentially visit. Brasserie Dieu du Ciel was one of them, and it just so happened we were in its vicinity after our Mile End food tour concluded. That being said, we made our way over. While I am not a beer person myself, I'll have a round or two if I'm with a group, and can appreciate a good brewery. My first impression of Dieu du Ciel was just that - the vibes were on walking in. The space is pretty large - kinda separated into semi- compartmentalized spaces with tables throughout. There's not much decor, but medium-toned woods throughout which gave it a sort of upscale feel. They offer a food menu, but we were just here for drinks. They have a really wide selection of beer - again, I'm no connoisseur, but I could tell that the selection was way more than other breweries I've been to. I ended up getting a cider for the first round and a stout for my second round - both very good. Service was great, and overall we enjoyed our time at Dieu du Ciel. Their selection and comfortable setting made it a standout brewery for me out of the ones I've visited in Montreal - I wouldn't hesitate to return.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

Review for their Quartier Dix30 location, 2025…read more.. Horrible ending to our night, false accusations by their staff... My friends and I went to this pub as a portion of our celebrating one of their birthdays this evening. For context I and my friends are in our late 30s to early 40s, and we had beforehand gone to another establishment but the temperature was unbearable as they did not have air conditioning so we sought out an alternative and chose Mckibbin's. Funnily enough, Mckibbin's didn't have AC either but we ended up staying for a few drinks regardless, mostly to appreciate the live music which was quite good. The waitress was good as well, quick and friendly, we had a minor snafu with a couple of the drinks which were not to our liking but the bar graceously replaced them which is yet another solid point in their favor. Why, you might ask in that case, would I be rating this establishment one star then? Well it all comes down to how we ultimately exited the establishment. We all paid our tab at the table, and finished up the rest of our drinks, still enjoying the music playing. It was a great band by the way, I just have to say. We all ended up leaving after 10-15 minutes and all seemed well, except it was only once we're outside that I found out that apparently one of our group who had gone to the bathroom had been victim of a rather apauling scenario. He had been in the stall for 10 or so minutes (he was doing what he had to do .. sometimes nature calls), and was interrupted by a knock on his stall only to hear the bouncer tell him he had to pay and get out of the bar immediately. The bouncer aparrently had heard him "sniffing" his nose in the stall, and found that to be appropriate reason enough to accuse him of doing cocaine in the stall, and to force him out of the bar. Of course it did not cross his mind to think that perhaps it had something to do with the bar being at approximately 29 degrees, perhaps my friend simply had a stuffy nose, or perhaps he had allergies, no he heard a few sniffles and that was all he needed to throw out allegations. Needless to say, I'm completely and utterly disgusted having learned this. Ultimately we left and let things be, we weren't about to bust back in there and cause disruption for no reason we were already on our way out anyway, but to think that this man, employed by this establishment, could be so outlandishly shortsighted is a true injustice. Suffice to say, my friend has never done cocaine in his life, we quite literally made jokes about this man's accusations the whole ride home. Still, I will never go back to this place, because I shudder to think of myself in his situation and what I might do, how it would make me feel to be on the bad end of this kind of person's shortsighted and unfounded accusations. That said, I urge anyone and everyone to beware of the types of people this establishment has working under its payroll. Most of their staff (everyone else in-fact) were excellent, but unfortunately it only takes one completely rotten apple to ruin the bunch.
