Solid food and solid beers. friendly staff. Enjoyed the smoke meats poutine; great cheese curd.
Very large spot with outdoor seating. Large selection of beers and their Poutine was sooo good! I would come back just for the Radler Orange & Calamansi. Located right in Old Montreal, a few blocks away of the Basilica, the waterfront, and the La Grande Roue de Montreal.
Solid spot for poutine and beer! Our server said they have the best poutine in Old Port, and I'm inclined to believe her. Location: at the north end of Rue St Paul. You will see the awning and outdoor seating. Poutine du chef CAD$29 was excellent. Brisket was on the lean side. Chicken was great. Gravy was the best part. Smash burger western CAD $26 was massive for a smash. We substituted onion rings for extra $2. Sevanor was a triple IPA that tasted great and very hoppy. The 16 oz was CAD$10. Our server was great! She handled all the outdoor tables like a champ. It was busy soon after they opened around 11:30AM. I'll start with the good. The HOUSE-BREWED BEER was great. They included some sours and some interesting radler/smoothie blends. Ordering a flight is as easy as ordering as many 5oz beers that you want to try. For something different, I really enjoyed the MANGRITA. Now for the other side of the review. POUTINE and SMOKED MEAT are staple Montreal foods. I ordered the smoked meat poutine, which was large enough to be shared. I was alone and couldn't eat it all. The smoked meat is supposed to be super tender, but it was chewy/rubbery. The gravy is supposed to be an umami explosion, but it had a slight burnt/bitter flavor. I have enjoyed many better poutines in Montreal on my visits. The underground seating is fun as is the outdoor seating where I sat. Service was good, checking on me frequently.
We stumbled on BreWskey's while exploring the Old Port of Montreal. We had to stop in and what a great little spot. The beer selection is great, and the Poutine was scrumptious. They use one of their beer's in the gravy and it added another level of flavor. The fries were crispy and creamy, each bite was delicious. I enjoyed a glass of wine while Mr. Bee did a flight and settled on his favorite. The staff was really friendly, we sat at a high top table near the bar and enjoyed the view into the brewery. Just a comfortable, casual and fun spot to hang out and enjoy cold drinks on an unusually warm day in Montreal. Highly recommend and we would absolutely go back.
Working in Montreal for the week and while hunting around for dinner I did my usual Yelp'ing! I discovered Pub BreWskey near my hotel so I decided to check it out! Here's how it went... Atmosphere/Appearance: The entrance is kinda off the beaten path and the restaurant is located under what looks like some sort of laboratory. Once down the stairs you're greeted by what feels like an underground speakeasy vibes! There's exposed copper ventilation pipes, exposed warm lightbulbs, raw concrete, wood and quite a few places to sit. I sat at the bar on the metal chairs like all pros do! But off to the side is a set of stairs which leads down to the ACTUAL BREWERY where all of the beer is made! I loved that there were windows in which you could look out of to see the giant vats. Really cool. Service: Dany at the bar took excellent care of me and there was nothing more I could've asked of him. He was attentive, fun and made sure I enjoyed my time there. Food/Drinks: First up I started with their Brew Juice, a beer made right in-house. It was their "beer smoothie". It was sweet, filling, thick, sour and crazy flavorful! Tasted nothing like a beer at all. My first appetizer was the Bacon Jerky which is thick-cut bacon in a beer maple glaze, chili seasonings, sesame seeds and green onions. It was mildly sweet, salty, savory, thick, tender and really, really good and not what I was expecting given the name. My 2nd beer was the Double Goose. This one was deliciously sour, gentle, not too sweet at all or harsh. For my entree I went with their special that was written in chalk on the board! I was the Sandwich of Duck & Lamb. The salad on the side was GREAT! Good bitter greens with rich, robust dressing. The chips the sandwich also came with were seasoned well and had an excellent spicy mayo dipping sauce. Sandwich was GREAT as well! Bread was softer than expected. Rich, buttery flavor. The 2 meats were light and worked well together. The sandwich is called "Sandwich Au Lapin De Cannard", but "lapin" translates to rabbit. Warm, cheesy, comforting, filling. Lil' cajun flavor. Caught a bone or 2 while eating it. It happens. Value: It's a brewery that actually serves food and that's always a plus! All prices are in $CAD. My first 12 oz. beer was $8.75. My 2nd one was $9.00. The bacon jerky was $10.00 and the sandwich with salad and chips was $26.00. Extremely reasonable if you ask me. In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time here at Pub BreWskey and I would surely pay this place another visit. Beers rotate all the time so what I had may not even be around by the time you visit. I went to the tap room side. Wanted poutine and beer. But apparently they only serve poutine at the pub side. Not the tap room... sad. But, really enjoyed their craft beer! A lot of them stood out and the creativity. Love trying new things. Loved: Smoothie beer Smoked beer Barley beer Skittles beer (Sorry cant rmb their actual names. But staff would be able to help u lol )
Pleasantly surprised with this spot! There's a tap room side and a bar/restaurant side. We ended up going to the bar/restaurant side to eat/drink and hopped over to the tap room side to get some beer to go. We did get the smoked meat poutine and I thought it was pretty good. The cheese curds were squeaky and the smoked meat was shockingly good. Didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised! Service was great too. Highly recommend!
We were out enjoying the day, but being a hot summer day we wanted something to cool us down. My wife had looked up BreWskey earlier and saw that they were known for having good smoked meats. Thankfully when we checked the menu we saw they had a salad option so we decided to try them out. The hostess was really friendly and got us seated quickly and wiped our table down. The waitstaff was quick and friendly getting us some waters and talking to us about the beer options on tap. They took our order for the smoked chicken caesar salad and our beers. They came back out with the drinks quickly so we could enjoy them while waiting for the food. I got the 'Lots of Riwaka' beer, since it used only the specialty Riwaka hops. Absolutely delicious beer, nice and hazy, one of the better IPAs I've had and will definitely be keeping an eye out for this hop variety. The smoked chicken caesar came out and it was a pretty good size salad, definitely a full meal. The smell of the chicken is great, you can really smell and taste that they do smoke the chicken. It might be a bit strong, but with the caesar dressing in the salad it worked really well. The meat was really tender and the salad greens were fresh and crispy. Very enjoyable experience all around and the out door seating is great.
The beer here was very good and the hazy was world class! I am a big Hazy fan (and brewer) and would put the one we had here up against any I've had. Make sure you don't stay in the pub but go over to the room where you can see the brew floor. Next time we are in QC will certainly be back.
Tried some really delicious beer here over the weekend - my favorites were the P-Nut Buster and the Berry Poppins. One thing to note, their flights are priced by taster glass, and one taster costs almost the same as a full pint!
We climbed down the steps to the taproom on a not-busy Tuesday afternoon. Sat in the big red chairs overlooking the actual brewery and just enjoyed the good tunes and great beers. I'm not a fan of IPA's (too bitter) but they purposefully brew their beer to be tasty. I enjoyed every beer I tasted. We ordered a side of Mac and cheese (delish) and the pulled pork sandwich! WOW! That pulled pork was one of the best. Who'd a thunk here in Montréal?!? The guys behind the counter are top notch. Great service. Please come here!

Draft beers galore there were like 25 to choose from which is crazy. Tried the Svetly Pilsner which was solid, Cepage Nectar which was sweet and strong, Cumulus Citra and Galaxy which was very interesting, and Pagaille which was insane like drinking liquified tiramisu. Pretzel was fire and the cheese spread it came with was good. read more
Great place to hang out and refresh after a long walk to and through Old Montreal. Set at the northern end along Rue St.Paul, and abutting Notre Dame de Bon Secours Chapel, the pub has outdoor/above ground seating areas, but the real attraction is downstairs - a cool, darkish cellar where the brewing and cooking are done. Seating is plentiful and service is very friendly. Local beer selections and a non-local Apple Cider are on the menu as are various appetizers and main dishes...all pub-and smoked meat centric. Ordered the Cider, Mac and Cheese, Onion Rings, and Smoked Brisket Sandwich, which came with a generous serving of delicious French Fries. Drinks were delicious, food came out freshly made. The Onion Rings were crispy and well-fried, the Mac and Cheese was an utterly heavenly goo of Macaroni and Gruyère and other Cheeses - totally heavenly! The Brisket Sandwich and Fries were on point as well - great burger bun with generous portions of 24-hr smoked Brisket and Cheese! Fries were not greasy and utterly tasty. A wonderful meal following a long walk through Centerville and Old Town, we were set back CAD 58 for the meal and $20 for the drinks, including the heavy federal and state taxes and generous tips. Chill atmosphere with indoor or outdoor seating. Friendly service and great food. We had the Montreal meat special sandwich, a fried chicken sandwich and classic poutine. Everything was hot and delicious. They also make their own beer onsite, tried several and enjoyed all. Would recommend read more

Great spot in the old port for a brewsky, wings and poutine! We stopped in late on a weeknight because our flight came in quite late and their kitchen was open still thank goodness as we were starving! We each ordered a beer, I got the buffalo chicken wings and we shared a side poutine. The side poutine was a generous portion and was more beefy peppery flavoured gravy. The wings were big and cooked perfectly! The sauce wasn't your traditional Franks but it was still good! They also have a great patio space for spring/summer with cute twinkling lights! I'd go back for sure! read more

It seems I spend half of every vacation popping into anyplace that has an IPA on their menu. Mind you, I'm not a consumer of IPA, just a supporter. When you get into a tourist-filled area such as Montreal's Old Port, it pays to be prudent in researching your options. I didn't, of course, but wound up here because those outdoor picnic tables looked like an attractive proposition and any self-respecting place with "pub" and "brew" in their name is surely going to feature some IPAs. Pub BreWskey did and they were well-received. But what do I remember weeks later? I remember the unfortunate grilled cheese sandwich I shared, featuring a too-thick, too-chewy piece of ham in its center and house-made potato chips that were too thick, too oily, and not an appetizing texture. I also had an onion dip that I couldn't keep my paws off of and, given the heat and humidity, a cocktail that was basically guzzled. Conclusion? Things here are a bit inconsistent. That said, stick to the alcohol and onion dip and the patio is a nice place to kill a couple of hours in the Old Port area. read more

I'm not much of a beer drinker but this place is hard to resist. It's by Old Port and has cute outdoor seating so we decided to stop by for a quick drink. I ordered a sour flight and I was a happy Jane. Very delicious and refreshing! Most breweries I've visited have 1-3 sour options but PubBrew had quite the selection! They offered live music which was pretty cool. We had a great time albeit the service was slow. read more

In a very walkable area - a good location in close proximity to the waterfront shops. The staff were quick to take our orders, and we were given a buzzer to notify us that our order was ready for pick up. I ordered the poutine and raspberry beer (#19 on the menu presently). I loved the beer, very flavourful with a brilliant colour. I did not like the poutine. Lots of cheese curds, nothing wrong with the fries, but the gravy was absolutely terrible. Most people in my group of 7 who tried it did not like it. I would order something else next time read more

Stopped by for a beer while walking around Montreal. Sat outside-nice vibes. Our server, Clement, was attentive & friendly. I had a 10 oz glass of Orion-for me it was just okay. My sister enjoyed a flight of beers, as she often does, and liked her selections, especially the Mind Control. Nice place. I'd go back to try something different. . read more
PATIO WITH NICE VIEW AT OLD PORT OF MONTREAL! We went for a few drinks in the afternoon. It's located convinently at the heart of Old Montreal with a spectacular view at the Old Port from their patio. The beer is mediocre to be honest. The pomegranate gose is fruity and refreshing; the IPA though is a bit too "one-dimensional" on hoppiness. We didn't order any food, thus won't be commenting on that. read more
A solid spot in a pretty area. Lots to do and see right nearby. So of course this is a great stop after strolling around. Food was great. Beer options were unimpressive-- was hoping for better since this place is literally called Pub Brewsky. Brews were meh. Also my fault for bringing my kids here. I'm too used to breweries being laid back and chill but we were told our kiddos we not welcome here.,,despite their pretty solid behavior & sitting outside. But we had already ordered our food so it felt kind of rude at that point. read more
A decent microbrewery in Old City Montreal. Great beer, poor service, and check your bill! Beer: incredible beer! The ESB was simply perfect. This brewery is literally across the street from the Ferris Wheel if you are having difficulty finding this place. Beer: excellent craft beer! I recommend the ESB. Staff: the service here is just horrible. The young lady that sat us, just literally stared at us when we were trying to get her attention to order beer. I finally got up and went to the bar to get some samples to try. She never came to ask us what we wanted, so my husband went up to order beer for us. If you want beer, go to the bar and get it yourself. Bathroom: they are upstairs. Take your camera because you get an excellent view of the brewery up there. Check your tap before leaving to make sure they get your order right. A gentlemen brought us water when we sat down. We had two beers and we were charge for 4. Since the service is horrible, the bartender mistook our empty water glasses for beer glasses. We kindly corrected the bartender and he fixed our bill. We did not try the food. read more

Found this on Yelp and google. It was a slight challenge to find on a rainy day. We had wings and a French onion soup and both were delicious! I would definitely recommend both of these items. Other patrons had nachos and that also looked yummy as well. The service was a tad bit slow but the waitress was friendly enough. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. It's close to all the shopping and the port. read more
Amazing craft brewery in Montreal. This is located in Old Montreal. They have some very tasty fruity beers that they make in house. I am not a beer drinker. B said their beer are very flavorful and less on the hoppy side. He tried two beers one was a sour (BreWskey Sunbath) and the the other was a beer peach smoothie (BreWskey Brew Juice Fuit Medley) flavor. He loved both beer. We sat outside in the patio area and it was quite nice. Great atmosphere, great beer and service. We will be back the next time we are in Montreal. read more

Came by to have a beer and an appetizer. Had a slight hard time finding the front door which was down a stair well on the opposite side as their restaurant. The food was very good! The inside atmosphere is pub style with a cool ceiling, piping decor. read more
