In Montreal on business for the third time, I had so much to do that I needed an evening meal where I could (a) sit alone; (b) have leftovers that would make a good breakfast at 6AM so I could skip stopping on the way to the office; (c) eat something tasty. No. 900 on the edge of old Montreal (I think it is on McGill St) was such a treat! I got to know, in a very little way mostly, and more extensively in one case, all of the staff that run the front of house. Delightful, all of them! Kind of a graduate student crowd, very efficient, friendly, smart, and pleasant to talk to. I don't drink so I didn't try beverages. I was in town for the week so got to try several pizzas. The one that says it is spicy, is SPICY. I was at my limit but the delicious outweighed the spice and I did end up eating it all (in two sittings, not one!). I especially liked the milder italian sausage pizza and so wanted to try more of them. read more

The pizza here is on a top 50 list and it did not disappoint. This was our first dinner in Montreal. We were one of the last parties to be served on a Friday night. Wish they would have told us it was going to be last call before we tried to order one more drink. The server told us that the bar closed ten minutes ago, and was very apologetic. So we ordered another pizza to go. We also had our last meal there. It was a little busy and they were short-staffed so they did not come around much and it took a long time to get our food that time. But it was worth it. Pizza is very good. Good concept, so so execution. We ordered two thin crust pizzas for delivery. Even though we were just a few blocks from the restaurant, the pizzas arrived cold and soggy. What was supposed to be a grilled cherry tomato topping was actually barely cooked and watery tomatoes on top of the cheese. The pizzas were edible but there's not much more to recommend them. Perhaps dining in might fix some of the deficiencies. We'll find out next time. read more

I wasn't impressed with the service at this location. The setting is a cool corner location with big windows small cozy feel inside. I found the service to lack. The staff behind the bar was more interested in speaking with their friends / colleagues than making sure a drink was topped off or asking if I wanted to order more. I feel like we got so lucky in finding this place. We had just arrived in Montreal that evening and was looking for a place to eat that was relatively close by. Once seated, we were greeted by an amazing servicer (Mia) who made us feel at home and was ready to offer us recommendations if needed. And if you are not aware, this place is all about the pizza. As well as it should be, because each one of the pizzas we ordered were excellent! Even the GF pizza for my wife was amazing. The crust was so doughy and tender. And the tomato sauce was rich but not acidic. And great ingredients on top. I paired mine with a beer and all was perfect. But there is more. GLUTEN FREE / VEGAN REVIEW I used ro love their pizza when I used to eat "normal". Now vegan and gluten-free, I tried their margherita one ( wanted the mushrooms one but not available). Their crust base is a little too thick/smooshy to my taste. But the taste is good. The outter crust was perfectly crunchy and tasteful. Am not a fan of fauxmage in advance. This one was ok. I have heard good things about the Woodfire pizza so I decided to stop in very tired and very weary. They invited me to sit anywhere I wanted to and Staff was so nice because I first decided to sit at the bar, but then moved to a table and she was more than willing to accommodate me. I got the sense that while people come here and it's popular. It wasn't too crowded and I did not have to wait. I got the margarita pizza which was delicious and so fresh tasting. Recommend a lot of people come here because the staff was very kind to me and the food was quite good. I came from a very far being from Hawaii and this was a delicious pizza. Amazing neighborhood Neopolitan pizza parlour with great food, drinks, and service. The ambiance is low key but still quite sleek and fun. The fare is fantastic! Be sure to try the burrata pie which is served with a whole burrata that you break into - the pies here are very traditional so you need to eat them with a fork and knife as the crust is very thin and it is a bit soup-like in the center - as a good Naples pie should be. We also got the calzone which was solid as well - a perfect blendof ricotta, pepperoni, and mozzarella in a folded over crust. Start off with a salad and an arancini and you have a very well-rounded meal, The staff were great and I high recommend a seat at the bar in the back with the regulars. We dined-in once and did take-out once. We hit it just right in the early afternoon (Sunday 3 PM) to have it be less-crowded where we wanted to dine-in. The server was very pleasant. The other times we checked it was wall-to-wall crowded. Across the two visits we had the Pizza Antica for $19 CAN, the Pizza Margherita for $15 CAN, the Arugula & Lemon Salad for $9 CAN, and a Mandarinata Niasca soda for $6 CAN. Whether eating in or doing take-out it cost about $35 CAN with tax and tip. Very reasonable. The pizza is award-winning and it tastes like it. One thing that surprised us was that the crust was soft rather than crisp, but we assume that is the style and it sure did taste good! read more

Surprisingly authentic Italian pizza! Nice wine menu- it was lovely ordering off a wine list of Italian wines. I ordered the goat cheese and fig arugula salad. It was fresh and tasty, if not a little underwhelming, but good, nonetheless. I ordered the double, which included a very hearty portion of arugula and goat cheese, as well as slices of cooked prosciutto and fresh figs, with a light vinaigrette. My family ordered a plate of cannoli, which were quickly devoured. The filling was rich and not overly sweet-- just right! Evening ambiance is lovely. The lights were lowered and we enjoyed the picturesque urban scene through the large glass windows. We arrived after a day of touring Montreal with a 6 yr old in tow, but this is easily an affordable date spot. Do call ahead for reservations- it's a smallish spot. We were lucky to be seated. With large windows on one side, it has a bright,casual ambience. We started with refreshing Pinot Grigio and Etna Russo. This pizza changed my life. I've been to many of the highest rated pizza places in the world, but they didn't have anything on the culinary experience I had here. I ordered the Mild Italian Sausage Pizza and I swear that sometime during dinner, I blacked out and Jesus appeared to me in a vision and said "this is my body which is given for you" and in that restaurant I had my first real communion. The next day, I was nervous to visit again in case trying the food at this restaurant again ruined the perfect experience I had the day before. However, I went back and shared a marinara pizza and a charcuterie board with my husband. Now, going into this I was thinking that the marinara pizza couldn't possibly be THAT good but I was wrong. It was delicious. I loved this place so much, that we visited another location in Montreal for a third meal before leaving to go home to the United States. This is the b-e-s-t pizza in Montreal! My friends recommended this place and I gave it a try this weekend. The McGill place has a great view and a very cozy intimate feeling, great for a quick bite or maybe a casual date. For $12-$14 you can get an individual pizza. It seems that on Monday nights a lot of the good places are either closed or fully booked (despite being half empty at 7pm), so I wandered into this bustling little place that had a free table. I no doubt ordered too much, but there was burrata on the menu! Burrata Maison was delicious with a couple of pieces of flatbread and little cherry tomato salad. I forget the name of the pizza. It had spicy pancetta, arugula, chèvre and figs. OMG amazing Neapolitan pizza! Can't give five stars after receiving the French menu when I spoke English.
