    Clean and light!

Amazing food, beautiful presentation, and knowledgeable bartender that gave me great suggestions! Vibe is low key, alive but not too noisy

Service here was on point. Perfect place to have a great meal with friends or family as the crowd is very mixed. Very industrial feel inside with appropriate decorations. If you do not know the little sign they have it's basically on an empty block. The food was hitting g very well. I can see the hype. The menu is not large by any means, but what they have they do very well.

This is one of the high class restaurants that I had eyes on over 2 years ago. And then the pandemic raised its ugly head. Tonight, for a very very special occasion, we are seated at this restaurant. I have never made a booking at a restaurant where there was so much attention to detail. Email was answered promptly and professionally. What a great start! Check in was even better. We were fortunate to have Andréane looked after us from start to finish. It was a pleasure to let her indulge us with the wine selection to start with. We ordered the razor clams, oysters as entree. The main course was Branzilon, Loup de Mer, a fish from the Mediterranean that is meant to share for two. The other main was Linguini, Speck, Amande, Chou-fleur, truffle-hachée. Our reservation was at 5.45pm on Saturday and by 6.30pm, the place was jam packed Washroom was private with GOJO foam soap, auto hand dryer and clean. I am allergic to dirty washroom, and trust me when I tell you that washroom are well maintained and clean. Back to the razor clams and the oysters. Simply delicious. Trust me. Both oysters and clams were sitting on a bed of sea salt, not on the traditional shaved ice what we are used to. Focaccia bread was incredibly good with dripping olive oil. Loup de mer was excellent! Fish meat was firm and so tender. Atmosphere was somewhat noisy, but it is jammed packed, but you can still carry on a good conversation. This restaurant is a place that is meant to be remembered, and if you want to take a picture to carry on a memory that will last a hundred years, then this IS the place. Atmosphere is a 5, the food is 6 and Andreane has helped make it a 10.

Visit: 3/2022 Review finished: 3/2024 Unfortunately I am attempting to finish this review in 2024, long after visiting this establishment so I do not recall my visit here in detail besides giving it 5/5 stars and the photo evidence I have. I do remember the spot was a bit hard to find but I feel like that's what they are going for, nondescript entrance. The inside is grand with such big (privacy) windows still with loads of natural light coming through. We had a large party so our reservation was fairly early and the restaurant was fairly empty at the time. It filled up much more by the time we left. I remember we shared a wine bottle but couldn't tell you which. I had the pasta posted in my pictures, if you recognize the name of it, please comment because no way I remember. Anyway, the one thing I truly know is that in my very trusted book of ratings, I absolutely enjoyed this spot and the food was amazing. So I'll be back and do a better job reviewing next time.

Le Serpent is well known in town as a serious eat. The interior is all open, sober in colours but airy in natural light. We booked for an early dinner, and were served with great attention and courtesy. We started with the crudo, which was a selection of three. This was perhaps the least accomplished dish of the dinner. The scallop had a nice heat, but the orange meant to balance it with sweetness was too timid. The salmon was topped with strangely cut cucumber that brought little to taste, and the plate was unfortunately badly wiped. The highlight of the meal was definitely the main grilled fish and vegetables. Whoever is managing the grill is a rockstar! All the magical flavours conferred by fire were brought out and enhanced. The corn and other seasonal vegs were delightfully tender and charred, and the fennel gave an aromatic sweetness to the deboned fish. I couldn't get enough! Lastly came the dessert, a beautifully glazed, creamy construct surrounded by little jewels in red. The tapioca pearls had unfortunately hardened due to probably cold storage, but the basil gave the strawberries a brilliant freshness. A very nice meal!

Le serpent, come hungry, leave happy... This rating is for the food only not the service. That said, the service is impeccable. I used to eat out a lot. Not so much anymore. Lately though, my passion for food has been rekindled. My search for lobster dishes continues... I think I've been here before a few years back... probably wasn't bad, honestly don't remember. Haha The starter: I had the sweetbread tartlet. The tart crust was very flaky and light. The filling had sweetbreads caramelized onions carrots and some mushrooms. The whole thing topped with a mousse made of cèpes (a kind of mushroom) The first bite was an explosion of contrast, light mousse and flaky pastry, mushroom gave you something to chew, the sweetbread was soft both bathed in a mildly salty creamy sauce and then you're hit with a touch of sweetness from the onions... perfect bite. I ate it slowly because I wanted to drag it out forever... The main: lobster risotto. I meant to try out a lobster dish, though the ravioli and pintade dish were very enticing. The rice was cooked Al dente . The sauce was creamy and well salted and the basil add a nice herby freshness. My only caveat was the lack of lobster flavor it was just a creamy risotto with some lobster thrown in. A solid dish nonetheless. Dessert: the primavera. A pistachio citrus cake with slices of clementine rind. The rind was soaked in simple syrup so it was not bitter. The whole thing was topped with kumquat ice cream and the cake was ribboned with white chocolate. Again contrasting textures and layers of fragrant perfumes from the pistachio to the rind and kumquat. The most original dessert I've tasted in a long while. I almost ordered another one. I often find dessert at nice restaurants to be lacking or unimaginative. And often not matching the style of the savory menu... The dessert here is refreshing interesting and yummy. And most importantly the play of contrasting flavors and textures seem to follow from the savory menu. A gem.

So not the place for kids as menu is limited and fish and steak is for two and over 100$ but my son and I went. Had oysters nothing special from Prince Edward Island (usual) they took a twist on spaghetti carbonara and that was pretty good but very salty. The duck to be served with brioche is out of my licking as duck is already fat so having a buttery bread is too much. It's not bad but not the best. If you follow me I have rated some restaurants better. Also if you go don't be scared of outside as I couldn't tell it was a restaurant we were Justin's an alley with a small black door saying the name. Not bad but not the best.

Had an amazing solo birthday here last night. The server, Marie, was incredibly friendly and helpful with suggestions. I had the Fois Gras Parfait, Bucatini w/ Black Garlic & Maple Tart for dessert. My only issue is I didn't get more food. Everything was incredible. I would definitely be back and would highly recommend! It's a great setting for an intimate date or dinner with friends as well!

Le Serpent is a hidden gem in Griffintown that we walked by twice beside it is in an unassuming factory building. Once inside, it is brightly lit and beautifully adorned in its simplicity. The staff is really friendly and makes great recommendations. The food was delicious - we enjoyed oysters, the grilled octopus was tasty, and the lobster risotto was also very good. Everything on the menu sounded so good that I recommend visiting with people who don't mind sharing!

This is five star dining to be sure with excellent service and a nice menu even though it's short. There are many interesting options on this menu and several really hit the mark. The Octopus Appetizer was not one of them, unfortunately, because there was barely any Octopus. The star of the $19 show was absent and we were super bummed about that because we love good Octopus. The main dishes were excellent although I had to look up Nordic Shrimp because I envisioned big, plump shrimp packed with flavor, right? NORDIC as in VIKINGS and BIG SHIPS. Nope. Teeny tiny, itty bitty, shrimp with the most delicious sauce, kale and pasta I have ever had. Still a little bummed about the shrimp size but the flavor made up for it. We also tried the braised lamb ravioli dish and that was spectacular in flavor as well. Rich, hearty lamb flavors with peas and sun dried tomatoes and olives! Fantastic! Dessert was sort of a miss too. The Tiramisu was way too heavy on the chocolate - it totally overpowered the rest of the dish and the maple pudding with the biscuit just wasn't that exciting to be honest. It was full of maple flavor and the biscuit was good but it was off balance in texture - almost too much pudding and not enough crunchy contrast. We loved our server! She was terrific. It's pretty noisy and tables are super close together and there is a really cool vibe with low lighting and nice music.

Food quality was good overall, especially the seafood, but prices felt a bit steep for the portion sizes served

Got to try some delicious food during my short weekend trip to Montreal Quebec…read more A friend organized a lunch for everyone before we all headed to the airport and funny enough this restaurant was in the hotel my friend and i stayed at. The restaurant was super quiet when we went as it was a Monday afternoon when most people were probably at work. The interior was quite elegant very clean and royalty looking. The service was 10/10. Waiter was very attentive and we could tell he paid attention to detail. He gave great food recommendations and definitely had knowledge of what's on the menu. Now as for how the food and prices were? Prices i'd say are pretty standard and reasonable. The squash soup was so yum and comforting. It had a puree texture to it. Good serving size. I would order it again! We obviously had to have some mimosas and yes we paired it with orange juice. The duck confit may have been a bit too much for me. Large portion and i couldn't even finish half of it. But it wasn't dry and the veggies had a nice crunch and the lentils were very filling and healthy. The flavour notes all went together but i'd definitely say the dish was more on the healthier side. The chicken supreme on the other hand .. although healthy it was still cheesy and buttery. Considering it was chicken breast it didn't even taste dry so i definitely appreciated that. The risotto paired with it was the star of the show! The restaurant takes resos online and they do have brunch on the weekends, happy hour menu looks promising. If i'm ever in town again and in the area i'd want to try their happy hour or chacuterie spread!

We were traveling most of the day and exhausted, debated room service or going downstairs, we were…read morepleasantly surprised at how good the food and service are. (Hotel restaurants, can be good/bad) We were definitely not dressed up which I was worried about but it wasn't an issue, we started with beef carpaccio and charcuterie, the pate was absolutely amazing as were all the cured meats. The beef carpaccio, was for me a little bland, I would have hit it with a touch of salt, but once you got a piece th at had balsamic drizzle it really opened it up and changed my mind. (I wish there was a little more of the balsamic. My husband had the Cornish hen, and I had the filet mignon, both were absolutely amazing, I even stole a little of his Bleu cheese for my steak. Steak was cooked perfectly, the sides were amazing. Our server was on point, his name was Pedro, I had asked him to send out a dessert privately and it was our 1 year anniversary, even though we were not dressed for the occasion as we were both exhausted from travel, We will probably be in for lunch tomorrow!
