    Fried chicken sandwich
    Erika T.

We were in the area and quite hungry so didn't want to wait in line at Schwartz's. Yelp led us here due to the highest rating with the most reviews in the area. We were promptly seated outside in the seating area near the walkway. The rooftop was also open, but we opted to sit downstairs to people watch. Service was quick and attentive. The menu is both in French and English which was great for two girls who took French in high school, but can barely translate street signs. The fried chicken sandwich is served with a thigh that didn't have the fat cut off it which was a bit odd texture-wise. The flavor was great and the breading was perfect. Crisp and light and full of flavor. The beef sandwich was flavorful thanks to the chimichurri. The portion was huge and the meat was cooked well. The sandwiches didn't come with any sides which was disappointing. The price point seemed like it would have included fries or something and the server didn't mention they needed to be ordered a la carte, but the portion sizes were large and in the end we didn't need a side to fill up.

A nice brewery with a cool looking 2nd floor terrace that was sadly closed when we went. The beer list is a bit smaller than some of the other breweries, but they do have a few nice ones that we tried. The Camerise was probably my favorite of the day and was nice and tart. I didn't care for the Rhubarb Ale which had a bit of a crinkly after taste. We were hungry, but the food was a bit fancier than what we were going for so we ended up just having beers and a few scones and leaving to eat elsewhere. The scone was good (a bit dry, but scones are like that) although for $4 each I would say it's quite small. A nice place to stop for a beer in the plateau. Nice service and ambiance and a bit fancier than most breweries.

Stumbled across this brasserie while growing hungry from vintage shopping with a pal along Saint Laurent boulevard. Le Réservoir had many original beer to choose from, my friend ordered a grapefruit beer and I chose a rhubarb beer which was juicy and refreshing. For food I ordered a tuna tataki sandwich with chorizo and spicy mayo ($17) which was delicious and filling. They sell bottles of beer to take home and merch such as pint glasses, hats, totes and shirts. Service was great, place was trendy and nice. 10/10 would go again and would recommend to a friend!

When we arrived at Reservoir, it was so dark... On a Monday night, this place was quiet. Bartender was nice and helpful in helping us to pick our beers but since Reservoir has a limited choices on draft: Black, White, Scotch Ale, Plisner, Weizen, Cherry and IPA. We didn't order any snack or food because it was almost midnight... and all we need was a drink. Beers were OK. I guess... Nothing standout to be too awesome for a special trip, but definitely will drop by for a pint or 2 when I am in the area!

What I knew: beer. Pilsner, ales, stouts. Brewed here. Cocktails. What I assumed: upper scale bar snacks like olives and almonds. What I guessed: dinner menu, on the chalkboard. What surprised me: the second floor terrasse. Late night noshing meant that some of the main entrees were fini. But the fish and chips were calling my hangry tummy. Arriving 10 or so minutes later, presented on a wooden board with a spread of tarter sauce, mayo and ketchup -- I shut up and stuffed my face full. A lively feel upstairs, we were surrounded by folks doing Irish Car Bombs (although, this is not that kind of place), mixed with giggles and laughter brought on by a mixed crowd. Hipster aloof is what I was expecting from the service, but what we found was friendly guys who were on the ball and whipping up some pretty stellar drinks. Would I go back for beers and brunch? Uh, is my name Crystal H?

Grilled gruyère cheese sandwich, tomato soup, Weizen beer = heaven.

Even though I gave 5 stars last time, the service seemed even better today. Maybe it's because this time I sat up at the bar so I was definitely attended to much faster and had direct access to anything I needed from the servers. I ordered my usual pint of Weizen beer (although I wish I tried their cherry beer, instead) as well as a gruyere grilled cheese sandwich that, unlike last time, included a thick slab of bacon too. As usual, I'm very pleased with this place. I look forward to pushing my boundaries on my next visit and trying new food/drinks that they have to offer, which I don't doubt will be anything short of perfect and satisfying.

It's a fancy breakfast place without the pretentious overtone that I have been noticing in the plateau. The menu was simple and clean. I had a light fresh salad, all the vegetables were fresh and with a light dressing with a light pinch of basil.Great place to have a brunch, try the fresh grapefruit juice, it's so refreshing, no added sugar. Food is fresh and organic, Definitely a worth wild place to come again

Two of their most popular brews (clearly seen with the impatient sips before the picture)-- the Weizen and Cream Ale.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

The server seated us without warning, and when we went to order, each item we requested had run out. No Cuban, no chicken melt, no several other delicious sounding things. She gave us 10 more minutes to look over the menu and come up with a plan B. Truthfully I wanted to jump ship, but couldn't because our drink orders were already in, and I was captain of this gastronomic journey. We'd set sail without proper forecasting! We settled on the baked egg and salmon bowl, neither what we were exactly craving. The baked egg was fairly tasty, a shakshouka-esque experience accompanied by rustic bread for hasty dipping. The salmon bowl was excellent, with delicious dressing, but the salmon portion was oh-so-meager. It made me wonder if the lunch rush had given the kitchen such a beating that they had split my salmon filet in half and served it to me and my neighboring table friend. Check out my photo and tell me if that portion seems right? The lore says Michael Jordan worked his rear off every game because he always told himself there was probably at least one kid in the stands who came there to see THE Michael Jordan. Well this kid in the stands caught Olive et Gourmando taking the night off. There is a risk for peril if you choose this restaurant, especially if you are in Montréal for a limited time!

I would assume many were customers first and then realized that this would be a chill place to eat. With my progeny, I almost made the mistake of eating in the Old Port. I mean, maybe chocolate crepes for dinner would have been more consumed than the healthier cheese and chicken alternatives at Chez Jose, but the relaxing vibe, and wholesomeness of it all, made me so relieved that I didn't settle for a tourist trap. I went a long time ago, back in 2021, and I was so happy to have gone again since they relocated to Old Montreal. The exterior is this new building, but inside, it feels like you're in an old building with rustic textures and colours. The ambiance is so lovely and it truly is the best place for delicious brunch items and taking cute pictures too! My friends and I visited on a Saturday morning without reservations, but we went relatively earlier. We were seated right away for a table of 4 and were served teas and coffee. I ordered the Bone Marrow & Duck Confit which consisted of a country-style bread, duck poached egg, bone marrow, confict duck leg, manchego shavings, herb salted crumble and green peas. It's a massive dish and honestly everything tasted amazing all together. The bone marrow was perfectly cooked and the duck poached egg meld everything together. They also give you another bowl so you can put the marrow once you're done eating it. The bread was needed to soak up every part of this delicious dish. Other items ordered was the Foie Gras (Chef's specialty) which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, caramelized onion compote and crispy proscuitto chips. The chips were a wonderful item to pair with the seared foie gras. The foie gras was perfectly cooked. The Rustic is another fan favourite which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, sautéed mushrooms. pulled pork, potatoes and argula sprouts. it is such a beautiful dish - nice colours, many ingredients and placed well on the plate; not to mention it was so good too! The last item was the Croque Monsieur which has country-style bread, maple-glaed Gaspor acon, confit tomatoes, cheddar, duck sunny side-up egg on an endive salad. You can't pick it up and munch on it, so you know how big this must have been! Even cut into pieces, it requires some maneuvering to munch on it. Great place for brunch. Awesome service too. I would highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a brunch spot!
