*review is based on reply to AI find-a-business conversation only*…read more TL;DR: weren't able to do a simple alteration (due to a quality that i noted in the AI chat message sent over to them) that another business had no problem with, BUT they were quick to reply and told me no without having me come in im not sure how simple of alterations they do, but it seems to be simpler than the surrounding businesses' usual. i was requesting a simple side take-in of a polyester dress with mesh overlay (notated in the AI message sent out), but they were unable to do it. for background, i am an intermediate-level DIY seamstress, with a grandmother who runs a sewing/alterations store (a state away which is why i reached out to businesses here). this is a pretty simple alteration, so i was surprised when they said they could not do it. i drove to the closest alterations place that was open, and they had no problem with the dress fabric regarding the take in (i showed the dress before i bothered trying it on to make sure) i am attaching the details yelp provided to the business as well as the conversation. the only additional thing i added to the AI was the part of the side seams with zipper in the back, maybe altering cups (after i responded to them saying that, for the other businesses to see that information) im not sure if this is a review more so on the business or AI feature. i will say- they were quick to reply and did tell me no, rather than having me come in and telling me no or potentially messing up the dress.

Would have been happy to pay extra to have this done correctly. I did explicitly tell them, "no new piercings". This is perhaps my fault and a learning experience - materials like leather should be brought to a shop that specializes in leather. However, I would have rather them simply refuse to work on this item than create new holes in the item. I am not asking for anything - I will simply have this redone at a leather specializing shop. This place was very close to my work so it as extremely convenient for me to take my dress to get tailored on lunch my break so I chose to come here. They charged me $60 to get my dress taken in a tiny bit at the waist and to get the pads out. And it was still too big. I tried to communicate with the lady that I wasn't satisfied and she refused to help me or give me any money off. Now I'm stuck keeping this dress. I am extremely disappointed. She told me she could nothing for me and after I paid she walked away and that was it. You can go here if you want but make sure you ask for the price first and ask what will you do if I'm not satisfied. I might not even wear this dress now. And I can't return it because I've had it tailored. I believe if you want to run a business that gives you lasting customers, you should at least offer to help if your customer isn't happy. I am a very reasonable happy person. She also said she could keep my dress if I didn't pay the $60! Which was so unprofessional. The wedding I am going to is on Saturday and I'm thankful I purchased a back up dress. The staff is very helpful in figuring out exactly what types of alterations are needed to ensure a great overall fit, and for gowns and dresses, that expertise is a definitely added value to the service. My bridesmaids had to try to stick their hand up the dress to fix the lining, with ultimately this being the product. Would I have loved to take off the dress and try to alter it somehow? Yes - but the back clasp broke while putting it on leading to my sister, SIL, & MIL quite literally using fishing wire to sew me into the dress. So by the time it was noticed, I was more worried about the dress physically staying on. I was relatively new to Atlanta & had gotten my dress at Bridals By Lori's - this was suggested & I went with it. The whole process felt rushed, there was parts I still wasn't completely sold on but they told me thats how the wedding dress was supposed to feel / it was supposed to be put on that high. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. It's all I notice now in photos & paid a ridiculous price for it.

Imagine the frustration when I pulled up at 445 and shop was closed. Business hours on the door had been changed to 5...though still it was only 445. While I do understand 15 minutes isn't much time, 445 isn't 5 and 5 isn't 6. Huge inconvenience to drive across the city to attempt to "shop small". And spoiler alert, Monarch Tailors also decided to change their hours without updating public information. So if you're reading this in a pinch--they're no better.
