Kelly repaired a broken zipper on a leather jacket for me. She also was able to hem a torn pocket and restitch it into the leather hem of the jacket. She did both of these things for less than she quoted me for the "worst case" zipper repair. The work was also completed a day early. read more

This is my first review on yelp and I am very excited to be writing this one. I went in to Kelly's on Monday asking her to pretty much reconstruct a whole new jumpsuit since the one I bought was two size bigger. I even had to come back Tuesday since I didn't have my heels at the time to discuss the length for it. Needless to say everything was ready by Thursday and I was wearing it by Saturday looking amazing. I was honestly surprised and I don't know why I had any doubts to begin with. Amazing results. Amazing price. Amazing women. I will be coming back. I'm already shopping for items I know it may not fit me all because now I can say I have a great tailor that dan fix that for me. What I got done: the length cut shorter ( I'm only 5'2 so you can imagine how long it was to begin with) & taken in the waist.. pretty tight just how I like it!! read more

I am very impressed by all of the work that Kelly has done on my clothes. Being extra petite and size 00/XXS, I literally need to get all my business suits, coats, and dresses altered, sometimes extensively. Kelly was also able to fix a pant that was sloppily altered by another tailor (Q Tailors); she amazingly converted that slouchy pant into a slim and sexy cigarette pant. This is where I go to alter my Versace, Burberry, Malandrino, BCBGMaxAzria, and suiting. Kelly always does an excellent job on the alterations. Prices are reasonable and competitive. read more

Kelly was very sweet, and the quality of the alterations she DID complete were great. However, Kelly failed to alter my dress completely. You know how a tailor will place pins all over the garment to remind themselves where to alter? She missed an entire section of her own pins on my dress. Mistakes happen. When I took the dress in for a refund (the formal event I bought the dress for had already passed), Kelly's demeanor changed. She was incredibly rude and unwilling to give me any sort of refund, despite the fact that she agreed the dress didn't fit at all (as a result of her alterations). Dishonesty will turn me away from any business, no matter how great the quality can be. read more

Reasonably priced alterations and delivered in a timely manner. That said, I did not have something I absolutely needed in perfect shape altered here. I first brought in a leather jacket that a cat (he's more of a cat-dog) decided to shred up at one sleeve. I just wanted to spend some money on it to get it up to wearable condition. Luckily the sleeves needed to be taken in a little anyways. The seamstress kept saying that the sleeves would be too short, but I encouraged her to do the alterations anyways. It turned out better than I expected - she was able to shorten the sleeves (and zippers at the sleeves) and finished it easily within one week (she probably could've finished sooner if I asked). I next brought in a vintage dress whose back lost it's elastic and needed to be taken in and up. While she thought it was a pretty flimsy dress to alter, again I asked her to suggest alterations that would solve the problem. She decided to just take it in on the sides, which was a quick and dirty way to do it - but hey, again, it worked very well. Overall, the alterations get done. This business is a pretty low budget operation - I've only seen the owner/seamstress there, it's never really crowded, and you might be taking home a hanger that doesn't seem to fit your garment. She has a good memory to remember which items you dropped off, but it can be startling that she doesn't have a better method of keeping track of your items. read more

I am absolutely furious about my alterations. I took in a bridesmaid dress for an upcoming wedding. All it needed was a few inches hemm from the bottom andd the straps to be shortened. She charged me $65. Whatever.. THEN when I picked up the dress and tried it on later at home, I noticed one strap was longer than the other. By a couple inches. Upon further inspection I noticed she forgot to even shorten one strap, I still saw the white chalk line on the strap where she had pinned it. The strap she did shorten was sewed on TWISTED. And I had to buy higher heels because the hem was tooo long. I ended up fixing the straps myself. Absolutely ridiculous read more

This is my first experience at a alterations business. My experience was very good. I've took in three pants and two leather jackets one was a $700 a Michael Kors leather jacket and she altered perfectly. The other jacket she had a harder time with because it was so heavy but she did very well with as well. I also took her three pairs of jeans. One included a pink Versace Jean that was originally $300. I had purchased when am I was in the process of losing weight and after an additional 30 pounds they didn't fit me. The jeans after she altered them fit really well and the other two pants I had no problem with so overall my experience was very good. read more

She works really great, alittle pricy and has great attention to detail. I went in letting her know what I wanted but as the expert in her skill she recommend other lengths when hemming pants. She explained the fabric and depending on the shoes the length maybe correct or incorrect. read more

Kelly told me my pants would be hemmed by Saturday afternoon (6 day turnaround). When I arrived Saturday afternoon, they were not ready. Tuesday when I am able to come back-she's closed at 5:45pm when the sign clearly says 6:30pm. read more

Kelly's Alterations is a great alterations shop. They are very professional and the prices seem very reasonable if not better than competitors in the area. Kelly (the owner) was very kind, patient, and thorough. She took the time to take correct measurements for my suits, sports coats, and slacks. Everything fits very well, and the one or two items that didn't fit too well, I simply went back to her, told her what was wrong, and she went ahead and fixed the problem areas. Her and her team did a great job. I had had a not so pleasant experience at the previous alterations store I went to, so it was very refreshing going to Kelly's. The next time I need alterations performed, I will definitely be going back to her store. read more

This is my first Yelp review,, and I just think something needs to be said. I chose Kelly's because of her excellent reviews, but had a completely opposite experience from the other reviewers. I brought my wedding dress to Kelly's for very minimal alterations. I just needed it shortened and taken in at the bust. My dress is actually a white bridesmaid dress, so it is not as elaborate as the typical wedding gown. I arrived at Kelly's a day after the agreed upon pick-up date to discover the dress had not been taken in at all and the pins from my initial fitting were still in the dress. I let Kelly know I could not come the next day, but asked when would be a good time to return since she was going on vacation soon. She replied that I could come back later in the evening, so I agreed. I returned to the shop and tried my dress on, only to be disappointed. The dress was still slightly too big and too long. I mentioned how I was not pleased several times, and Kelly was not at all helpful. I decided then and there I would have to go elsewhere to have additional alterations before my wedding in less than a month. When it came time to pay, she still planned to charge me the originally agreed upon $80. I asked for a discount since my dress was not altered within the set time period and still did not meet the expectations I had for my wedding dress. I ended up with a $5 discount, but Kelly was extremely rude. She screamed about how she'd stayed late to fix my dress and I said I only accepted her offer to do that because I thought she was going on vacation. Only then did she let me know she was not leaving until the following week. I told her I absolutely could have come to retrieve my dress next week, and that I deserved a discount because my dress was still not wedding ready. I was shocked by her lack of professionalism and lack of concern for her work on my wedding dress. This is not some everyday garment I was paying her to alter. I will absolutely have to take this dress somewhere else before I can wear it for my wedding. It's also important to note that when I left her shop after initially dropping off my dress, another customer came in and was practically screaming at Kelly for her work on her garments. I'm a rather laid-back person who works in a customer service-based industry, so I chalked it up to that person being rude and high maintenance. I really wish I had just taken my dress elsewhere right at that moment. read more

After searching Atlanta for a tailor who could work on shearling, I finally found Kelly. The jacket I took in had sleeves that were too long and too bulky for my petite frame. This was a tricky job - she had to take the bottom part of the sleeve off, take the sleeves in, and reattach the cuff. The jacket looks amazing - you can't tell anything was done, and it fits perfectly! She did an expert job, and I couldn't be happier with the work she did. I was very happy with my experience here. I had a lace dress taken in around the waist (something that I'm sure could be messed up pretty easily), and she did a wonderful job. She also had it ready exactly when I needed it to be (which was 1.5 days later at noon), which is surprisingly hard to find sometimes, especially with such short notice.
