They laughed in my face when I asked if they could help me with an alteration. I needed a bridesmaids dress taken out a bit for a wedding. I've had this done twice at other places and know exactly how they do it. They said they don't do that. Didn't ask me to try on the dress to see how much needs altering, didn't ask me how soon I needed it. If you can't do something, you should definitely take the time to explain why to the customer and offer other suggestions. They literally told me to go find someone else. Time alterations used to be my go-to alterations place in the area. I've been in 7 weddings and had all bridesmaids dresses altered here. I cannot believe the unprofessional attitude towards me, a loyal customer that's referred at least 3 close friends to them. I am done with this establishment. read more

Great job with alterations for my slacks and maxi dresses. They even did a great job altering a pair of leather pants. Their prices are comparable to other alteration businesses. You can have them fit you or already have the clothes marked/pinned where you want them cut. The turnaround is fast. I took a dress on a Monday and it was ready as promised by Friday. The quality meets my standards. The customer service is friendly. The location is conveniently located off highway 75N and easy to find in a shopping plaza with free parking. I recommend this business for alterations. read more

Time Alterations - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

Came in here for the first time a few months ago to get a dress altered that was too big the very first time it was very reliable and very nice. Today I came in to get some pants altered that were too big and to cut a little shorter immediately when I showed Lady the pants she kept saying no no no no, and not giving me any explanation as to what she was saying no about. Then she shared that it would be a lot of money to make my pants smaller and to cut them. I shared with her I have no problem with that. How much does it cost? She tells me $70 I tell her I'm not sure why and $70 because my grandmother is a seamstress. She responds with "tell your grandmother to do it." This interaction was no more than 30 seconds. I have never been treated like that in a business ever I would never recommend anyone come here. read more

Used to be good. I used to recommend Time because their prices were reasonable. Went back there recently and was charged almost twice the price on their price list. When I asked why the price was different and so high, I was given an excuse that didn't make any sense... I won't be back read more

Terrible attitude from the lady that works here. I've brought several items for alterations and it was her poor attitude when a hem was not done to my satisfaction that will take me elsewhere. When I mentioned the hem not being the length we discussed or marked, her first response was "if I do it for you again, I have to charge you." That's not how you approach a customer. I get things happen, maybe she misunderstood my expectations, but approach is everything. read more

Came in with four US Army uniforms they took care of me right away. It was my first time coming here because usually I take my military uniforms to a military alteration place near the Dobbins afb but since the virus everything has been closed. Therefore I gave this place a shot and they executed all my uniforms to perfection and flawlessly. Thank you so much! read more

If I could leave negative stars I would. SUPER unprofessional. Laughing in the face of a customer who has brought you lots of business and referred multiple people to you is completely unacceptable. If you don't feel confident in your skills as a seamstress to complete a job, then you should help the customer find someone who can help them. A business should never intentionally try to make a customer feel bad for asking them to do a service that they advertise as being able to do..... shame on them. I will be sure to lead people AWAY from this questionable establishment. read more

I popped in to have buttons replaced on a dress. The seamstress removed all the old buttons and replaced them with new ones and in addition she checked to be sure that the loop would fit over the new buttons. Quick and friendly service!! read more

I've used them for a year now, with no problems, until today. I picked up two pair of pants they were to hem for me, but didn't try them on until I got home. When I tried them on, the pant legs were dragging the ground. When I returned to their shop they claimed they'd done the work (they didn't, the manufacturer stitching was still intact). Bottom line, they refused to fix them or refund my money. They used to do such a great job, I don't know what happened, but there are other reviews that suggest a dramatic change 2-3 months ago. I hope they are ok, read more

Fast, friendly, and accurate service. They even gave me tips on how to wear a garment I was tailoring more stylishly!

The lady that worked there is very rude. I took in a dress to fix and unfortunately they couldn't. My friend then helped to take a look at it to see if she could fix it herself and the lady rudely said "good so you can go home and fix it yourself" then walked away! It's completely fine that they couldn't help, but that's no way to speak to a customer read more

Didn't do the alteration as I requested, and then were rude when I called them on it and refused to do it right. I won't be coming here anymore. read more

I can not say enough good things about this alterations shop. Not only are the prices VERY reasonable, but the quality of craftsmanship is top tier. I first tried this business to have a formal gown taken in around the bust and shortened straps to create a tighter feel and the seamstress was not only pleasant to work with, but quick and exceeded all expectations of the alteration. Most revelry I dropped by to have a zipper replaced on satin shorts and they once again exceed my expectations. The quality of both the metal and craftsmen ship of sewing was better than the original construction. Very swift turn around. They also offer same day services for a small fee. read more

Used this alterations shop for my bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding. Great easy to find location on Cobb parkway. At first when they told me $50 for a hemming, I thought It sounded steep and decided to shop around. Ended up being the best deal I could find even in some of the less nice areas, and she did a great job! I'll certainly use her again. read more

Only use these guys to hem my jeans, but they do a good job. Fair prices and quick turnaround.

This place is phenomenal. I took a bridesmaids dress and six pair of wide leg dress pants in on a Saturday morning and everything was ready for me to pick up on Monday before noon. She took in my bridesmaid dress and then turned all of my wide leg pants into slim leg pants. My total was $166 which is not bad considering I spent somewhere between $30-50 for each pair of use pants that I have not worn in over a year. So it's like I got some brand new pants to wear to work now. They have absolutely won me over as a customer I will be taking all of my items to this location moving forward. read more

Very great service. Prices are fair for Atlanta and work is done in perfect time and with such care.

I just moved to Atlanta from out of state and was looking for an alterations place to get my pants hemmed. I chose Time Alterations based on the Yelp reviews and was very pleased! The cost was half the price I pay at home (out of state) and the owner was very nice and friendly. All 4 of my pants hems turned out great! I will be back. read more

Good for basic alterations. I have been here several times for hem repairs (which are typically $6). The mending jobs have been quick and sufficient. I am taking off one start because at times they could pay more attention to detail (thread color, straightness of the hems, etc.). read more

Timely alterations that haven't let me down even in crunch time! They are very friendly and accommodating if it's a rush of some sort. I bring everything to them now! read more

Love the work that they do. I have a slim build, and they always are able to taper and slim down the suits I bring to them. Turn around time is fast too, took them only a week to get it done. Definitely will be a regular customer. read more

I went in wanting to take an African dress out. The dress had extra material in order to be taken out. At first they said they couldn't do it for me. Then I showed them it had extra material so it could be taken out. They finally agreed to do it but they didn't take my measurements so that it would fit me properly and not look like I'm wearing a potato sack. Needless to say, I was not impressed at all. read more

The last straw!! I took there a couple of jeans to be hemmed, even after measured...they turn out a little to short. And now I went there to see if they can saw together a string on shirt... And they say NO NO NO. WHY DO THEY CALL THEMSELVES ALTERATIONS IF THEY CAN NOT ALTER SOMETHING??? Very disappointed with this place. read more

They did an excellent job with the sleeves on my blazer and got it done a day early!

Very nice people. I got a couple of pants hemmed here and Helen does a great job with them. It seemed like she has a lot of regulars--which is a good thing. read more

I was [not]blessed with my dad's physical proportions which leaves me with broad shoulders and short arms and legs. Suit jackets have to be purchased on a "regular" but need to have the sleeves shortened. Pants have to be hemmed - since "short/petite" lengths all seem to be getting longer than they used to be (or am I getting shorter???) This means finding a good alterations shop is really important - and since I'm new to the area, I did a quick yelp search. I had a few new beautiful suit jackets with full lining and a pair of slacks and they did a GORGEOUS job - I think the sewing looks better than the original! I had last minute work travel and they were acoomodating to get everything done for me in just 2 days! Prices are VERY reasonable. read more

Sweet lady, great turn around but I needed the to fix the collar of my dress. The shoulder seam is an inch below my shoulder and off kilter on each side. It looks dumb and she explained that the design doesn't allow for the shoulder seam needs to be. Which is fine but if you're gonna stitch it an inch down at least let it be even. I asked for a discount since the craftsmanship was off and she got haughty with me. I can't stand it when people don't take responsibility for their actions. I would have been fine and left a glowing review and brought back more business if I had gotten the simple discount I asked for after being on the receiving end of poor workmanship. Needless to say I need to find a new place that can fix their mistakes. read more

I chose Time Alterations based upon their good reviews after being frustrated over the hit and miss quality of work, long wait times to pick up my clothes, and high alteration charges at other shops. I only purchase good quality, higher end brands, but have to have many pieces altered as I am very particular about fit. In the 2 years since I've been coming here, I have never had to bring anything back. Everything fits perfectly and the quality of work is outstanding. The owner is an excellent fitter, honest and knowledgeable, and understands how I like things to fit. I bring in new garments just to get her opinion. The shop is clean and attractive, and work is done quickly. That said, I had to speak to the negative review recently left regarding a Vince Camuto dress alteration. Vince Camuto makes wonderful shoes, but my personal experience (and I'm not alone) with the clothing line is that the fabric and workmanship are not up to the standards you would expect from the brand. In any case, a review is meant to be an honest description of your experience with a business, whether good or bad, to help others make decisions. But it should never include expletives, threats or name calling - all undeserved by anyone, to say the least, and hopefully, that review will be dismissed for what it is. It doesn't seem right that you could publish that type of review. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. A couple of months ago, I Brought my dress here to be hemmed and have the sleeves taken in and they completely ruined it. The dress was cut too short and uneven. When I tried mentioning this to the owner. He became irate and started yelling at the top of his lungs and accusing me of wearing different shoes ( I was not by the way). I have never been treated so poorly by a business. Stay away from this place read more

I have gone to Helen for years. She has done everything from jean hems to altering beaded formal gowns for me. I completely trust her. Generally, all work is completed in a week or less. She has a good sense of what is the correct style, too. read more

Fantastic service, and a friendly owner... the only reason there isn't five stars is that the parking situation is terrible, and people driving in the parking lot are rude, and try to attempt to break the sound barrier... so worth the prices, and the effort to get there... I am a longtime customer but unfortunately recently I had several pants hemed and three of them were not done right. They were way too long as if they were not hemed at all. When I took them back the owner became very angry and said he put them where they pinned them and told "got it". Nice owners until they have to admit their wrong. Lost my business and neighbors I do not recommend this business. read more

I've used Time Alterations' services 4 times for roughly 12 articles of clothing and feel I can give them a proper review. I want to open up by stating the quality of their work is good and I have not been unhappy with any of their work. Also, they have a decent turnaround time compared to major retail store's alteration services. It's a family owned store and they seem like decent people. However, I do have some feedback for Time Alterations' and a warning for cost-conscious people. A theme I have consistently seen while observing other customers, as well as something that has recently affected me, is that their costs (amount charged) for alterations appears to be entirely subjective. So their cost menu, which is currently their Yelp profile photo, will likely not reflect your final bill. This is frustrating and I brought it up to the owner in my last visit. I asked him to point out how he came to my final bill on the cost menu and he could not. After some time, all they could show was a receipt for another customer's jacket alteration which they also charged $30 (the most expensive jacket alteration on their Price Menu is $25.) I've seen other customers frustrated with this as well. All of this being said, even though their cost charged at checkout appears to be entirely subjective, the overall price was still reasonable. It just gives me the vibe they're looking for a "quick buck". In summary, I plan to keep using their services as it is quick, quality work. I will just continue to question their pricing chart. read more

I will say that my first couple of years going to Time were great. They have good prices and the work is timely. However, in the few times that there were issues with my alterations the customer service was less than poor. When Helen gets it right (which to be fair, most of the time she does) it's great, but when she makes a mistake be prepared as feedback is not well received and you may be insulted. I would trust my more expensive specialty items with an appropriate seamstress. Celebrity on West Paces has an amazing on-site seamstress that is extremely professional and flawlessly alters items. read more

No complaints thus far. I brought a few pieces to date (a dress to get taken in, a dress to get hemmed, and a pair of dressier pants taken in and hem). Every piece so far has been perfect. I've gotten other pieces altered at other places where they usually take in too much, but these pieces done at Time Alterations have been perfect every time. She's also quick and prices are reasonable. I wouldn't say they're cheap but hey you want quality work, you have to pay for it. read more

My daughter is in tears right now. She left her dress with Time Alterations to be worn for NYE. The owner told her to come back to pick the dress up on New Year's Eve before 4pm. She arrived at 2:30, only to find out they closed early, with her dress inside the shop!!!!! We have no way to contact them and the only number given is the number to the shop, which of course, just rings. This is an unacceptable mess!!! read more

I brought a bridesmaids dress to Time Alterations because it was way too big. It was a week and a half before the wedding and my previous attempt to get the dress altered elsewhere had fallen through. The gentleman at Time Alterations assured me by phone that he could have my dress ready in time. When I arrived, a woman named Helen measured me in a few short minutes, and I left the dress with her. I am happy to report that I was able to pick up the dress on the day Helen promised me, and it was the morning time. The workmanship was excellent and I will definitely return. The place was also neat, clean, and comfortable. read more

I took (2) pairs of pants in to get altered last week. They came back in great quality and even fixed the poor job that my cleaner did attempting to fix their mistake. read more

I too chose Time Alterations because of the strong reviews on Yelp. And I was not at all disappointed. To date, I have had them alter 5 pairs of pants. Three were fairly standard hem and waist alterations on new suit pants. Two were more complicated, involving pants from older suits that I wanted to be made more contemporary (slimmer throughout the leg, etc.) They also adjusted two suit jackets, trimming them down to a more modern look. All alterations came out great and were finished in less than a week. They are moderately priced, but well worth the cost. It's also a family-run business, which I appreciate. I'd definitely recommend them and will be going back. read more

They ruined my $90 juicy pants. They only pinned one leg and then must have stretched the other to match instead of measuring or pinning to cut. The pinned leg length was great, but the other leg was over 1.5" shorter. My husband couldn't believe the difference. When I went back to ask her to fix and refund the cost, she refused the refund and said she would "re-hem" for free, HA!. She got very upset when I called the problem a mistake. Now the pinned leg is shorter than I wanted, with a hem that doesn't look original, and the short leg is still quite a bit shorter than I wanted. I have to wear these with flip flops to attempt to mask the error, but it is still obvious. It really bothered me that they wouldn't admit the mistake and now my $90 juicy pants are not at all like I wanted. Expensive mistake. Very disappointed. Will never go back. read more
