I am not sure how this place has such a low average star rating. Every aspect of my experience at Time 4 Nails was wonderful. I walked in midday on a Sunday and was helped immediately. My manicurist was Lin, who was not only highly skilled and professional, but very sweet and nice to talk with. She did a great job on my acrylic fill, filing and buffing my long nails into the exact shape that I wanted. She worked quickly and efficiently, finishing the service in under an hour. The prices here cannot be beat. $12 for a fill, and $20 for a full set. Sure, the place is certainly no frills-the interior is dated and simple. However, the space is clean and charming (Vietnamese musicals on the TV :)), and the manicurists are top notch. They accept Visa and MasterCard, but cash is preferred. For a perfect set of acrylic nails, this salon is a safe bet. I look forward to returning the next time I am in Seattle. read more

Went in for a full set,pedicure & eyebrows. First the nail techs complained about me wanting short nails & was adamant that I should get "long long nail". After explaining to her I have a JOB so "long,long nail" is unacceptable & unprofessional she then became rough & started rushing to do my nails. $96 later I left with my toes NOT the color I wanted & unpainted fingernails & was charged $10 for clear shellac when I specifically asked for regular clear polish since they couldn't do the design & the girl doing my nails was too frustrated to put the same $10(which I ended up paying anyway for a CLEAR coat)colors on my nails. Only to find out she wanted to hurry up to help the customer that had just walked in(after me being there for 2 hours) because her nails were longer & she didn't like doing my short nails. read more

She ask them if they could fix them they proceeded to be very rude to her and aggressive towards her the woman ask them since they would not fix her nails could they atleast give her a discount they then became angry . When i went in the first time, i saw Helen, and it was wonderful. I came in two weeks later to have my natural nails repainted and the gal I was given to, decides to us the dremil on my right hand for 4 fingers until Helen asked her why she would do that on a natural set of nails. I checked the integrity of my once, strongest nail, and it folded like tag board.. needless to say I'm devastated that my right hand now has 4 very weak nails and my left hand, which wad treated properly by a third employee, has 5 very beautiful nails on it. I'm going to have to cut my once natural long and healthy nails, so that they don't break, and hope that the regrowth process is swift.. be vigilant in how you get your nails done, because just because they're supposed to the the professionals, they won't always know what's up. Helen is great. I hope to get in to see her tomorrow so right this can be made right. They csnt fix my nails. But they can make me a happy customer. UPDATE:: THEY WON'T FIX MY NAILS. I came here with a friend for a mani pedi while on vacation. She lives in the area and was a repeat customer. I did feel that the place wasn't as clean as it should be, but I thought it should be fine since my friend liked it. They didn't do a particularly great or particularly bad job on my nails, and I didn't expect too much atmosphere from a little neighborhood place. The real disaster hit two days later. I took a shower in the morning and didn't notice anything unusual. Then, in the afternoon my lower leg was a little itchy. I rolled up my pants to look at it and saw disgusting red bumps all over my lower leg. It it is both legs. I went to the doctor the next day and he said I have a bacterial infection from the water in the footbath at the salon. I have to take antibiotics and use a topical antibiotic cream also. I did some research and people have actually died from this. Very scary! read more

I am at the nail salon as I write this review. I feel so cheated. The nail service that I get here compared to Hollywood Nails is night and day difference. If only Hollywood Nails wasn't closed at 4pm on a Saturday I wouldn't feel so cheated out of $23 + $1 convenience fee for using my debit card. They should definitely warn their patrons of the additional $1 charge before rendering such mediocre service. Shady shady. The nail lady spent less then 15minutes on my pedicure. Her service was so basic that I could have done it at home. She cleaned the nail polish off, cut my cuticles, filed my nails, massaged my legs and then painted the polish. I felt that it was extremely rushed and very amateur of her. If you are going to charge me $18 for pedicure service then do a less shotty job. And I love how their signs don't represent the actual prices. The sign stated $16 for regular pedicure and $20 for spa pedicure. When I asked the difference between regular and spa pedi the technician said "honey, we don't offer those prices for regular pedicure anymore" 0_o Maybe my expectation is set high because I go to Hollywood Nails and the nail techs spend at least 30 mins perfecting my toes and cleaning/cutting the cuticles. Not to mention when I was getting my upper lips waxed she dabbed a cotton swap full of alcohol on my lips that almost made my nostril burned. Sorry.. But you lost a potential, reoccurring customer. Maybe you should be more attentive to your clients. read more

This is my neighborhood go-to nail place. Word of advice, this is not the place to go when you're feeling like, "oh, I just want to relax and be here for hours" or "I want to be super pampered and feel like I'm in a luxurious spa". If that is your mind set, then yes, you will be disappointed. Be clear about your expectations, be nice to the ladies because they're all in the hustle to make a living too and they'll return the kindness. They get excited about the new nail accessories they get in, they'll give you options of what to do, and they do a good job in a timely manner. They'll adjust anything if you point it out. They're honest and straight to the point but if you need to have things sugar coated with a high pitched, submissive asian girl voice then again, you'll feel let down. This is a great simplistic nail place that can do any design you desire and they'll remember you anytime you come back. If they haven't cut your finger, ripped a nail off, given you an infection, and had all of your nail polish chip off after a day, then save your negative reviews for a truly traumatic experience. read more

This is my favorite nail salon and I have been coming here faithfully for over a year. It's not all fancy or anything, but they get the job done and for CHEAP. I usually get a full set and pedicure, with free-styled, hand designs and spend no more than $50 total, which is what I've spent on just a French pedicure at other places. The employees are really nice and extra accommodating, especially to their regulars. In response to the other reviews I have read, this place is a typical Vietnamese nail salon and I have been to many, so the entire "speaking in their own language" thing doesn't bother me. The employees dress casually as they do with any other Asian-owned nail salon I have been to. The list of prices is located right above the pedicure chairs, on the right side. If you're willing to overlook the less than attractive appearance of the salon to get an awesome nail job for a great price, then you should definitely come here. And yes, parking on Rainer sucks so I usually park on the side streets that are right around the corner from the salon. I feel safer parking there anyway as they are residential streets, whereas I have seen way too many accidents on Rainer to feel comfortable with parking my car on such a busy road. Warning: It can get SUPER busy so I try to come at off-peak hours or right before they open. If they see you waiting outside before they are officially open, they will let you in and start your services. Also, it's in the "hood" so be prepared for the characters you might see. read more

The most dirty, disgusting, unprofessional nail salon I have ever been to. I came in here to get sns nails removed and it was horrible. I should have just left when they asked me to take a seat at a dirty table with acrylic nail dust and clippings all over it and instead of cleaning it off, just put a towel over it. However, my nails looked like garbage and I really wanted them to be clean. The first manicurist hurt me several times using the dremel and so the one next to her took over. Then, unbeknownst to me, they had me soak my WHOLE HANDS in HOT acetone. Then a different male manicurist came over and continued to grind my nails. My nails are now warped and have weird indentations on them. Every tool and drill bit they used came out of a dirty drawer or disturbingly dusty old rusted jar. So freaking gross. Not only that, but it took them an hour and a half just to take the nails off and then buff them. I will NEVER go here again and have already told many friends not go. I refused any cuticle work because I was afraid of infection. On top of everything, their regular polish selection is so old and crusty and with so many weird bottles of Wet n' Wild, ice, other trash from the dollar store. This place gets ZERO stars. read more

I really like the full set they did on me, she did a freestyle design and i love it, the only thing is they take forever, i literally was there for 1.5 hours to get my nails done and when she applied the acrylic she applied it too much to the sides of my nails so its kind of irritating the sides of my nails, that make it hurt. i also got a basic pedicure. only $16 like probably the most affordable place to get your nails done. my acrylic set with design is $35. without design would be $23. and i was kind of annoyed when they charged me a $1 credit card processing fee. thats a big processing fee, but then again they are asians and as a person who has overlooked businesses, merchant fees are high for businesses. oh and i hated that they spoke to each other in vietnamese. its very rude, they should learn to become more professional. the place was pretty broke down and dirty. they didnt dress like they were serious about working, the other workers just lounged around lazily...did not make the atmosphere feel professional or anything like that. im almost at a lost for words here. but um...yeah, its hard to find parking. anywhere on rainier ave s. its hard to find parking. but yeah with a little remodel, some training for the staff and keeping it clean and learning to not speak in their language, and working faster, i wouldve given them 5 stars. but 3 for doing a cute design. um yeah.......okay =) i probably wont be going there that often. read more

Shockingly wonderful pedi for $16. Really, sixteen dollars! I know, I made them say it twice too. As the previous poster commented, the decor leaves a lot to be desired. I don't think I even saw a price list anywhere for nail services, but overall it's great for a little foot maintenance. Even the unpleasant parts weren't uncomfortable, and the massage part was heavenly. Next time I'll bring my own polish since the selection looked a little old. Sixteen dollars! read more

Hannah is great at eyelashes and eyebrows. She deserves all the praise. I recently got a design on my nails. I've seen the crazy stuff on other ladies' nails, so I decided I'd bring in a picture of what I'd like. I asked them to redo the design twice (which I literally never do), and I still wasn't happy with my nails. Plus my simple polka dot design cost twelve bucks. Whaaaaat. This isn't where you go for a fancy experience, but it's great for simple nails. Or even intricate designs! Just not polka dots apparently. read more

My daughter goes here and she said I had to ask for Helen. Helen was busy with 3 customers so I was given another girl. I asked her for a full set of gel nails since I had cancer a year ago. First off she hurt me when she was using that nail machine to grind down my nails. She slipped several times and I bled right away. I was leaving for my 65th birthday the following day so I let this go and hoped that my nails would turn out ok. Very disappointed that she hurt me, did not listen to what I wanted. I left when she was done and came home and cut my own nails down since they were so long and pointed not the way I wanted them done so I cut them down and redid them myself. I will never go back to this place or recommend it to family or friends. read more

This place is run by multiple Vietnamese women. A wonderful location in South Seattle. It has great prices compared to other nail salons. It keeps up to date on cleanliness. Terribly rushed acrylics, asked for coffin shaped and every nail was crooked. She didn't remove all of my polish before the fill and then didn't take the acrylic all the way to my nail bed so looked like it was a week old. Charged me $10 extra for the shape that sucked and the fill was extra because of the length of my nail (was a normal length). One lady behind me was getting a bloody pedicure literally the lady stabbed her toe with the tool and she was bleeding. Never again!!! I love this place. They have the best prices I have seen in Seattle for nails and waxing and they do a good job. They are also friendly and fast. It's not a swanky, spa atmosphere and there is usually a TV on, so it's not the place to go to completely unwind and be pampered, but if you want the job done at a great price this is the place to go. From my by weekly fill to Prom these ladies (especially Helen) have always taken care of me. I've had a few bad visits....but those were the times i let someone who doesn't know my likes and dislikes work on my nails, and even then they still did a great job...jus wasn't what I like. I cant remember the name of the woman that hooks up my feet but she's dope too! This is literally the only place outside of the CD ill let touch my nails...and Helen is the only woman...person in the city i will let hook up my eyebrows. Came to this spot on recommendation from someone to go to Lisa. My friend got Lisa and I got another woman for our pedicures. My lady RUSHED her way on through it and I wasn't really impressed with her work. The water was hella hot and the techniques she used were abrasive. I tried to indicate that but she wasn't really getting it... Anyway $20 for a pedicure is standard where I'm from so I'm not really that jazzed about the price either. I've been here only once and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I came in for a fullset and made an appointment before hand because I was in the area and wanted to give the place a try. As I walk into the shop, everyone just looked up at me and then continued doing their own thing. No one greeted me or asked me what I needed help with. I didn't care as much and continued to the receptionist. I speak Vietnamese quite fluently so I decided it would be more convenient for the workers to know that. I told her that I had an appointment scheduled and she told me to have a seat and wait for at least 5 minutes. My appointment was at 10:30 but I had to wait for at least 20 or so minutes until I got my services done. I was irritated by that. Anyway, as this lady was doing my nails, she kept on sanding my cuticles with the drill and it hurt pretty bad. I kept telling her about it but she just told me that it was fine and I didn't have to worry about it. Who in the hell says that? Obviously it wasn't hurting her so she didn't worry as much. Any who, while she was filing my nails, I noticed that some areas of my cuticles were red and had a burning sensation. I told her that my fingers were hurting and she went ahead and took a antiseptic bottle I believe and sprayed it on My hands. That didn't help much and she kept on going. I was horrified by the fact that my hands looked worse than before I came in. I got a French tip with a simple design. The price was reasonable and the design was cute, but my fingers were hurting bad. Overall, I had a really bad experience at this shop. I'd be willing to give it another try but with a different person this time. read more
