Yesterday I brought my friend to Timberline. I felt timid because I had only ever gone shooting with experienced shooters, and my friend was a first time shooter and felt intimidated for obvious reasons. Dorcas got us acquainted with how they do things there and was incredibly patient, helpful, and detailed in her feedback. Both of us were put at ease by Dorcas who made us feel at home and eager to return. Brett was also approachable and kind in answering our questions regarding an ambidextrous firearm for my left handed friend and his advice on how to try them. Beyond impressed! My wife scheduled the Beginning Handgun course for our "Date Night" and it was the best! We are new to shooting and the staff here are so knowledgeable and supportive. You can feel their passion and they genuinely want the best for each customer and for the sport - they're not just looking to load you up with as much as they can sell you. We started with the Beginning Handgun course and by the end of it we were hooked and have already signed up for additional courses. The facility and range here are top notch and the staff are always helpful when asked questions and are quick to give tips on how we can improve when we're practicing. They have a wide range of guns you can rent and try out on the range, which we did before ultimately choosing the firearms that worked best for us. Found this place on Yelp. Called and booked a private shooting lesson with Elise. Coming from almost zero gun experience, I was a bit nervous. Elise and the rest of the staff put me at ease real quick. She selected 2 handguns that she thought I might like and we began shooting. I really appreciated the time she took to teach gun mechanics and safety. Throughout the whole lesson, she made sure that I was always following safety protocols. As I stated, I was a bit nervous at first, but with some practice I quickly grew comfortable handling and shooting our Walthers. A private lesson included 2 pistols, 50 rounds ammunition, range time, and target for around $95. It was a VERY thorough crash course. I returned to shoot solo, and felt a lot more confident shooting. If you're in Flagstaff, definately check this place out. They have a wide variety of guns to try out and an extremely helpfulstaff willing to walk you through everything you need. read more

Talk about impressed. Timberline was great in terms of customer service and a strict adherence to safety protocols which was really reassuring since shooting a Marine worthy handgun was a lot more intimidating than my son and I thought it would be. Since it's been years since I've shot a gun and my son is a novice with guns unless you count his vast experience with an official Red Ryder BB gun, we took the First Time Shooter course which is a basic 30 minute course on basic safety. Then we hit the shooting range. Out of a wide variety of handguns to choose from, we rented a M18 Modular Handgun. A lot of gun. Ear and eye guards are mandatory as well as a double door protocol to enter and exit the range which prevents the noise issue from the range, and I assume was adopted after the Chris Kyle murder for additional safety measures. There is a safety monitor when there are any shooters which was helpful for me in loading the darn magazine. We'll be back and may take one of the classes. I highly recommend Timberline for anyone who wants training or plans on buying a gun. read more

Female friendly range! Good for first time beginners to experts. State of the art, high tech, clean and highly organized facility. Professional staff. Nice gun and accessory shop. Came in from out of town with my wife and daughter. Friendly and knowledgeable staff set us up with everything we needed. My daughter was rock-n-rollin their full-auto M4. The owner, Rob Wilson made us all feel like VIP's. This range is definitely safety oriented and aggressively promotes the shooting sports through having fun, improving technical ability and educational programs for every skill level. So I came here a few times with my buddy for the indoor shooting range which is nice, but their prices are ridiculously inflated! The main reason however for my one star rating is that again, I drove by this business, and every other business and government building have their flags half-staff for the Capitol police officer who lost his life on April 2, but this place does not. They did not fly their flags half-staff either for the Capitol police officer who lost his life at the horrible insurrection on January 6. Now I know the Federal order and Governor Ducey's order really does not apply to businesses, but out of respect, any business should be happy to do so. Having several friends who are law-enforcement, it's really unappealing to see a business such as this, not pay respect to the brave men and women who protect us! read more

We visit a lot of ranges across the SW US as we travel nonstop for business. Timberline is by far one of our favorites. There are quite a few reasons for this but the friendly staff and their attention to detail when it comes to safety are the biggest differences. If you want to play pretend army man with your leather jacket and your motorcycle... go to the Scottsdale! (I read all of Matt Ls reviews... he hates everyone and says "baloney" A LOT. I dont think you understand the word baloney Matt... it's a lunch meat) The staff at Timberline takes their time and makes sure that you and everyone else feel safe by enforcing their safety guidelines. They are extremely knowledgable and very, very friendly. Most gun ranges are run by aholes that believe they are a bad ass in "call of duty" (like baloney... its fake) and that anyone that is a beginner or novice isnt worthy of their time or attention. We have been to Timberline dozens of times and always feel welcome and never feel stupid for not being at expert level (yet... their training is getting us closer). Cant wait to come back! So disappointed. I was hoping for an indoor shooting range where I could train in cold or foul weather. But sadly this is definitely not the place. The staff are the usual pretend experts... they talk the talk but after 10 minutes of conversation with the owner it was quite apparent they really need help themselves. Their ridiculous rules will get you killed in the real world. Real training means training your mind and reflexes... you will shoot no better than you practice. Garbage in garbage out. Practice bad technique and that's exactly what you will be stuck with for life. Do not expect to learn anything from these people. Go there to simply sight your firearms in or listen to them go bang. Want to practice real self defense shooting? Go off into the forest or desert and practice proper technique. You do not need them standing over your shoulder shouting in your ear demanding that you shot their way... which is wrong! They will get you killed. I am Jeff Cooper and military trained. Your reply is baloney, but that's ok, I understand. Simply put, your facility is not for every one. Novices may be your market? But those who wish to train there and perfect their skills there need to go else. As I have elected to do. There is no animus here. No hard feelings. This is simply an objective review of my experiences at your range. Thanks for your offer to help me, but frankly, you are not qualified as we already discussed. I'll continue to trust own judgement and the skills I gathered from over 40 years of my own experiences and other combat professionals. read more

Amazing facility and people. The four of us were very impressed. The owner even came in to fix my new gun and new suppressor that jammed with a live round when we couldn't fix it. He took the gun apart and set it up right then explained what was happening and what to do. So impressed!!! read more

I absolutley love this place, the atmosphere and staff. I really didnt know what to expect since I'm a newbie but was welcomed with kind and very generous staff. Everyone made me feel welcome and encouraged me to ask questions. I took the first shots class as well as a lesson from Elise. I have never felt this welcomed and comfortable at a firing range before. I wasn't crazy about having a range safety officer on the range when I was shooting. I felt like I was being babysitting and was being watched. I prefer going out in the open and away from people and other things and shoot in the open and be in charge of my own safety. I don't play on going back any time. I also don't like to have to pay to go shooting. read more

Came here to test out my new gun at their range. Compared to other indoor ranges I have been to, this one was the best one. They keep the range in great shape from the floor to ceiling! I was very impressed how good of a condition it was in. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful. They have a retail space where you can purchase firearms, accessories, vaults, ammo, etc. I will definitely be back to this place in the future! read more

I thought it best for the rest of the class not to disrupt or disrespect them with any of your verbal excuses. And as I was the only person of color, I was at a disadvantage. So pardon my reluctance to bring up the subject of your disclosure of your non-refund policy, and now just finding out of the "7 day rescheduling. Which was not explained by email or verbally. I hope for your future customers, you will fully disclose those facts before they spend their hard earned money at your business. And for your staff, perhaps they will do a better job, hopefully.
