Still parked in front of Denny's, I placed an order for these items: - Cadbury mini eggs dream donut - Medium raspberry mojito zero-sugar sparkling quencher I thought the former item being listed on the menu was weird. It screamed Easter to me, but I like pushing boundaries at Timmy's. Is this dream donut supposed to be on the menu or was it an oversight? I paid for my goodies through the app with my Tims gift card. I then drove over to the drive-thru. I got a pleasant woman on the other end of the speaker. She found my order and said that I could drive up to the pick-up window. When I got the window, the woman said that the store didn't have any dream donuts. As expected, staff weren't great with updating the app to reflect that donuts they had. I asked what was comparable. She asked if I wanted Timbits. I asked if I could get ten. She talked to her peers and they said yes. I have said in the past that I'm not great with Tims pricing. It's still true, although I am improving. The FIFA Timbits go for fifty cents for one. A dream donut is $2.49. I could have got five FIFA Timbits. Instead, I got ten regular Timbits. A box of ten assorted Timbits goes for $3.49. I essentially got more bang for what I had originally ordered. Go, me! I got my drink, followed by the cutest FIFA-branded Timbits on the box. I thanked the woman and headed home. I love the raspberry mojito drink these days. It's fizzy, and the raspberry-lime combo is lovely. It was delightful. It's fairly large, as it's a shared location with Wendy's as so many are. It's easily accessible and has plenty of parking in the plaza, which includes a Denny's among other restaurants and shops. I came here most recently to meet a friend in the neighbourhood. I came in and was able to get a plush seat beside the 2-sided fireplace. You also have your tables and loose chairs, and plenty of booths along the windows. I went over to place my order, which was a $1 large ice coffee offered for doing the survey on a previous receipt. There was no shortage of goodies in the display cases, which was neatly filled to capacity with plenty of flavours for bagels, muffins, donuts, etc. The staff correctly made my drink without the cane syrup as requested. She didn't freeze and have any problem processing my receipt for discount. She immediately provided my new receipt as I asked. She was responsive and friendly as well as efficient. I was glad to see that my new receipt has the survey option back again, as my last couple of receipts were missing that. Yes, it's just a Tims, and it is just starting to look like it's going to get tired soon, but it ticks every box for what a proper location should have and be. On Saturday, I was heading northbound along Highway 7. I needed to use a washroom, as I had been out and about at this stage for three hours and my bladder needed attention. I saw this Tim Hortons on the right and said yes to stopping by. I found a parking spot steps away from the main entrance, which faces Highway 7. I used my umbrella as I walked over. The washrooms are straight ahead when you walk into the cafe. There are two single stalls. I took the first stall, which caters to any gender. The other one is similar, but is built for accessibility. The woman behind me used that one. The stall that I used was clean. No issues. My bladder was happy. I went to check out the baked goods. I saw that there was one lemon blueberry tart left in the display. I had to have it. I got a cheerful woman who fetched this tart for me. Got it! I am still new to how the Tims app works. I learned that I could have my Tims rewards QR code coupled with enabling a payment method. I now have it set to withdraw money from my Tims gift card whenever I have the Tims rewards QR code up. It's the little eureka moments that keep me content and current. The woman asked how I was going to pay. I said with my Tims gift card. I had the QR code scanned. It worked! I got points collected and I paid all at once. Yay! She fetched my tart and placed it in a paper bag. I thanked her and wished her a great day. She reciprocated. I looked at the merchandise before I headed back to my car. I liked the pink beverage flask with a cute bear dangling from it. Adorable! I had my lemon blueberry tart in my car. It was so good. It was flaky with the perfect blueberry filling and lemon flavour. I wish it were on the menu all the time. I'd be a regular TImmy's customer! There are a few places that I need to review again. My local Starbucks is one of them…read more I have been a customer here for over a decade, well before I knew what Yelp was. I have met some fine baristas over the years, who have gone on to different careers because working here got them through college or university. This store has a high turnover of baristas, mainly because it's often a training store. I am a pretty patient person and I don't mind being a part of their training process. Lately, the current set of staff have not made my experiences pleasant. It has been building since the early part of 2021. One time, I decided to redeem my points towards a tumbler using the Starbucks app. It said that the tumbler was in stock. I also ordered a drink. When I approached the drive-thru, I indicated that I had a mobile order. The man said that it was out of stock. I stated that the app had it available. He maintained that he didn't have it and that he'd give me a refund in the form of a gift card, rather than reloading stars. I talked to this barista, who was the lead this day. I asked why the app didn't reflect their inventory. He simply told me to contact their head office. Um, no. It's not my responsibility to get your lack of updating your inventory and syncing it with your mobile app. The onus is on Starbucks to fix these issues. Telling me to report it is lazy. I'm reporting it to you now. Make it happen. During the same visit, I had another barista ask whether I had ordered "just" an iced black tea. The use of "just" by main staff members here is unnecessary and was ongoing for at least two months. To confirm that you have my order, rattle it off without the "just." I usually reply by saying, "It's only me. One drink is enough." My alternative is, "You aren't just a barista. You are a barista that folks would think that you do important work." Why just? Just do you job by not implying that my order isn't as large as you'd like it to be. I took up that beef with the lead. He indicated that his team often has chats and will discuss it. I will say that I don't get "just a drink" thrown at me as often these days, but coming here to deal with this nonsense has made me drop by less often than I used to. There are a couple of regular barista that I enjoy seeing and chatting with. There are some new ones who are pleasant and great getting my orders from. However, I simply don't enjoy coming here. The lines are often long and I have often waited half an hour for my drink. I am patient, but I see that other Starbucks cafes near me do not make me wait that long and are far more pleasant. The latest experience was ordering through the app, indicating that I had a mobile order, getting to the window, and being advised that staff were brewing black tea. The barista said that someone would come out with my drink in five minutes and that I should park off to the side. I first parked in the parking lot. Ten minutes went by. Nothing. I then parked in front of the patio. No one. Illegally parked, I put on my mask and headed towards the front door. I was met by a barista who had no clue who he was handing the drink off to until my eyes met his. I was thankful for my drink, but waiting fifteen minutes for it was longer than promised or anticipated. There is plenty of parking. I'd avoid parking in front of the cafe because it does get busy with Popeyes and Jeon Ju Hyang next door. Here's hoping that things get better. It was time to stop and check it out. This Starbucks doesn't have a drive-thru. I credit the lack of real estate to add one in. The Harvey's in the same plaza has a drive-thru. It may be overkill to squeeze in two and reduce the number of parking spaces for the medical centre and more. I found a parking spot behind the cafe. I walked around to the entrance, which faces Victoria Park. I opened the door and it was busy. To my left were folks seated, enjoying baked goods and beverages. There are also seats on the right, around the corner from the branded merchandise. If I were a regular cafe sit-down person, I'd likely remove a star from my rating. It's tough finding a seat here. However, since i'm more of an order-and-go customer, it's fine for my needs. It didn't take long for me to approach the order counter and speak to a barista. The customer in front of me allowed more time for me to figure out what I wanted to drink. The female barista was so cheerful. Frankly, all staff behind the counter had huge smiles on their faces as they worked. My local Starbucks could learn a thing or two about being cheerful from staff here. I ordered my usual, which is a grande iced passion tango unsweetened tea. The barista nodded as she entered everything in. I saw a festive reusable cup next to me. I asked her if I could buy one. She said yes and confirmed that I wanted one. Yes, please! I paid for my items with the Starbucks barcode on my phone. Done! She got a brand new cup with a lid from under the counter. She made my day. I thanked her and headed to the pickup area. Lots of folks were waiting for their drinks. Mine took maybe five minutes to prepare. My order was simple. I thanked the woman and left. My drink hit the spot. It was cold and refreshing. I enjoyed it as I continued my drive downtown. I don't collect a lot of reusable Starbucks cups. This one looked nice. I'm happy that I got it.
