I needed a midday coffee pick up and opted for the iced sugar cookie oat latte with half sugar and light ice. They ran out of the caramel brûlée syrup (as usual) so I couldn't order that one. The drink was made well and my customizations were correct. I also got the chestnut praline but it was way too sweet even though I asked for half sweet. The store was not too busy but it took them forever to make my drinks. The staff seemed lost and confused by where certain things are placed, dropped cups and the ice scooper. When it comes to businesses that are local, I try to avoid giving negative reviews but I mean, Starbucks is not that so here we goooooo! This was definitely not a great experience for just one reason, but it's a BIG reason! I paid over $6 for a drink that tasted like dish soap.... -[VENTI MATCHA LATTE] $5.25 -[SOY BEVERAGE] $0.80 You could say that I'm partially at fault for not having tried the drink BEFORE leaving the store but I would argue that proper mask-wearing in enclosed spaces like a store is more important than how my drink tastes! I don't understand why there's so many low reviews I came here today and ordered 2 drinks. One was a caramel macchiato (almond milk, light foam, half sweet, half decaf) and the other was an almond honey flat white. I think the barista made my drink perfectly the way I wanted and staff there was kind and made the usual small talk you'd expect from any Starbucks. By the way, I worked as a barista at Starbucks throughout undergrad (not this location) so I'd say I know when a drink is done correctly and the standard of service that's acceptable. It's not an easy job especially when there's lineups to the door and I think when that happens, you have to expect a little bit of a wait. I like this location! Give it a chance! read more

This place has really changed since the old days - as a quick disclaimer, I used to work here but that has no influence on the review I'm putting out now for the current store. Management here has changed and it is sloppy and just not good. The old manager used to run a tight ship, making this store one of the fastest and most efficient. It also used to be older staff that worked here (meaning older university students and mid 20's+) and that's when it was at it's best. Now it's all high school and young staff trying to make it work but it just doesn't. The store gives off a very unclean, unorganized vibe. The trash bins are always overflowed and the staff ALWAYS look confused.. WHY? Half the time I order, I don't even have customizations and they can't get my drink right or they look hella confused when I'm ordering. I ordered a venti iced green tea and was told they don't make the green tea iced... um, excuse me? are you good? can you look behind you and see the giant jug of green tea meant for iced? I had to point it out to him, which was followed by a huge "ohhhh. Right" Every other time I have to tell the barista where to find the drink on the screen to punch in ... are you kidding me? why am I having to guide you on how to do your job? Another bad experience was when I mobile ordered, went in - told the girl it was a venti and not a grande. She argued with me until I pointed out it was the last printed thing on the sticker. She remade the drink and I pointed out there was no sweetener when she was pumping classic syrup into my drink - she angrily replied that " 'no classic' doesn't mean 'no sweetener' " .. HUH?????? Girl, do you work here?? If I was @ tim's paying $1-2 for a coffee, I wouldn't be picky. If I'm paying upwards of $5 for a small drink, it better be damn perfect. Damn, this sbux really used to have standards and as a former barista here, I'm super disappointed to see what it's become. When you've bested the barista with your latte order, something is wrong. I didn't think I was a coffee snob but I know how to order Starbucks, and I wanted a simple PSL today. I might as well jumped around the bar and pulled a shot myself today. Location: horrible Hard to find parking here, as lots of store to compete with and dangerously close stop signs within the plaza. Service: lots of trainees and this is over half a year and visits, so turn over must be high here. Mainly nice to "I'm busy what do you want" attitude. Batista ability: poor, maybe due to new trainees? Mixing toppings and lack there of, like no whip then blasting whip and spilling the drink and finishing with cinnamon dolce on a pumpkin spice latte, eek! Decaf users beware, they seem unsure if you order it and check again at the drink station. Cleanliness: something is always sticky here, from the front entrance or at the drink station or condiment stand, you will find stickiness somewhere each visit Lattes: not consistent as mentioned, training and knowledge needs improvement. Why I like this Starbucks? - I found seats!! and I got to pick where I sit! There is not really usual! - Every seats have electric outlets close by!! I don't need to be like crazy woman wondering where the outlets are!! - Nice jazzy music.. and people here are quiet... all like me typing away on the laptop or studying! - The back area for sure is spacious!! and have big windows too... And of course the WIFI is working!! :) So I can write this review LIVE!! Why I don't like this Starbucks? - It is closing at Monday to Thur 9:30 pm! Service is good or bad depends on the staff. The 3 star is for the second staff who served me. I will give 1-2 to the first one. I was trying to get multiple gift cards and at first I was served by the lady and she was pretty rude to me through out the whole process. She didn't offer gift card envelops. I noticed she was friendly to the other usual customers. But I believe every customer should get the same level of service. Then, I asked another staff to get the envelop . The gentle young man was nice and polite to assist and even offered individual gift receipts for the cards I have already purchased. I ordered a 'Ginger Molasses cookie' and the barista was like.."is that a drink or is that food?" ....ummm lol store manager, why have you not trained her? Like...are you kidding me? First of all if this is a drink, it would be under seasonal then cause there's obviously no 'ginger molasses' syrup all year round and if it is a seasonal drink, then it would be up on the boards behind you so you better know it! AND after I asked her to warm it up, she didn't know what bag to put it in. You're suppose to put all warmed pastries in the white bag! Not saying this is super important for me, but HELLO...store manager why is your employee making this mistake when you should know the only reason why people go to Starbucks is the security of getting the same experience at every singe location. Also, their service is slow AF, whether it is during rush or reg hours. I ALWAYS see 4+ people awkwardly standing in line during regular hours while their baristas are just working SO slowly! It's like I'm starring at them and I'm wondering how much slower can you go? Oh yea, you also ALWAYS have to wait for your drink even during regular hours, meaning at 2 pm on a weekday. I mean...are you serious? You can't steam milk fast enough? I used to work at the drive thru Starbucks on 9th line and hwy 407 and we would never have more than 3 people in line during rush hour..and this is with us operating a DRIVE THRU as well!! AND...When I ordered my Earl Grey Tea Latte, they are suppose to hold the FOAM and release it at the very end slowly for everything steamed. They just poured the whole damn thing into my cup. Like are you new? And their washrooms here are always SO gross. I don't ever see any barista go for a bathroom check before they take their break or before they go back on their shift, and that's what we used to do at my Starbucks. I've only been here once to exchange a mug as it broke when I poured hot water in it. After calling almost every single store, this store still had the one I wanted. My original mug was bought months ago before it broke but it was my favourite mug. I was going to buy another one but the store manager was willing to exchange a new one for me. I do like this Starbucks. Every time I'm here, I always manage to snag a seat. You can comfortably do some work and munch on a tasty snack while downing it with a hand-crafted beverage. The only downside is that the parking lot is shared with Rogers, two banks, and the Harvey's-Swiss Chalet. So, you may need to park it bit farther. Staff members are always friendly here. read more

This is a new flavour, Midnight Mint Chocolate Flappucino. It tastes very refreshing after a stressful morning. The mint flavour makes my mouth feel cool even though I do think the frink tastes slightly sweet. Overall, it is good and I would come back again for this drink. read more

So new that google maps can't even map it correctly at the moment. This Starbucks is actually located off Markland Street which is just east of the 404 on the north side of Major Mackenzie Dr E inside the large plaza. You can't miss it. There's a TD located in that plaza as well. While downtown coffee places have their urban vibe, I found this suburban location quiet, pleasant and still busy. It is a great location for a productive morning working on whatever grand schemes people have that they work on in coffee shops. No need for headphones to tune out the people vibe here when one really wants to focus. The seating area in the back is fairly separated from the front counter where the baristas do their magic. There is also seating up front if one wants to people watch. The product is great as usual. The baristas are friendly. The wifi works very well. It is very spacious. Parking is plentiful. Given that this is Markham, it's not really within easy walking distance of anything besides the other shops in the plaza. read more

Staff are pretty nice and quick, I don't usually go to Starbucks, I'm more of a Timmies guy. For Starbucks lovers, it's probably heavenly but it's just average in my opinion. 3/5 read more

This is a convenient on my way to the office Starbucks. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful, but it seems they have a lot of part-timers or new people who aren't so..er clueful. I mean, when I order a classic breakfast sandwich, I find it odd when they ask me which one. There is only one classic breakfast sandwich. I also find that the classic breakfast sandwich has been sold out a few times in the morning. Argh...I want my breakfast sandwich! This Starbucks is in a good location. Has good parking and has lots of space. What I am most surprised about is how when certain staff are working that the volume level of the music goes up. I starting doing my work at around 2 pm and worked about past 5pm. During that time I saw a shift change and the volume of music increased drastically. Last time I was here I saw another customer go to the staff and request that the music be turned down. Maybe that is something someone in management or even head office should address. read more

I love the playlist at this Starbucks! Easy coffeehouse music. A fairly small, narrow store. The couches at the front are comfortable but a bit worn out. Parking is super limited. A good place for a quick caffeine fix in the morning, probably wouldn't recommend for long-term studying/working. read more

This Starbucks is probably one of the nicest Starbucks! The atmosphere is great and the service is fantastic! The staff here are very friendly and talkative so it doesn't get boring here. The bar is gas definitely know their stuff and they have fun with it! If you look at their name tags they got pokemon with it or other symbols, which is pretty awesome! The seating is a bit limited, but I think most Starbucks are limited in seating. The crowd that comes in here is ok sometimes. After School times you get a ton of high school people and if they annoy you then avoid around 3-4pm. The parking is quite limited it's shared by rbc bank, Scotia bank and swiss chalet. There's a ton of parking by the td across but most people would probably want to park in front. Will probably always come here when I get a chance since no other Starbucks compare to here! read more

My usual stop for Starbucks on those days I think I need one (If it's Monday, that's good enough reason). Never had a problem here - staff is always courteous, gets my order right, and the line moves quickly. Haven't had any issues with coupons either, and the coffee is always fairly consistent in quality. Can't speak to the accuracy or quality of their food items as I tend to stick with just coffee.. Store is long and narrow but no issues - I've never sat down there and it might not be the Starbucks with the greatest ambience (the one on Main St. Unionville is much nicer), but you'll be comfortable, and it's fairly quiet. Another reviewer said that the Google Maps location wasn't accurate - I checked and it looks accurate now, so all is well in the internets. Just a tip - there's lots of parking but if you want to be lazy and get closer to the door, you can park in the Scotiabank courtesy spots if it's early and the bank hasn't yet opened (it opens at 9:30). read more

I had a coupon that I found on redflagdeals for a FREE Tall Blonde Roast but they didn't honour it so that was kind of bad. Thats why they are getting 3.5 stars instead of the 4* that I give most Starbucks. I have been to this location a fair number of times. However, I tend to just get my regular no room grande pike. The brew typically is fine - the odd too bitter (bad brew) but otherwise okay. We came here as a family once and the lattes appeared to be made properly. The staff at this location are all nice, the store maintains its cleanliness almost all the time and there is ample seating both inside and on the patio. The downsides here are that it can be difficult to find a parking spot direcetly in front of the store since it shares the parking lots with several other stores in the same plaza. Aside from occasional parking difficulty, the biggest downside to this place is that it can get crazy packed with high school students during the weekdays. The staff work well and keep the line moving, but if you are in a rush or want a calm meeting spot (especially during lunch-hours and 3pm-ish), I wouldn't recommend coming here because of the concentrated volume of high school students from the high school next door. read more

The location is particularly convenient for Toronto Via 404 commuters, since it is just before the on-ramp.
