Everyone I had contact with there was exceptionally helpful in choosing tile, taking home samples, choosing grout, and anything I had questions about. Tileco was overall a good experience and they had the tiles we needed for our project. Lauren was patient and helpful with selecting tiles that fit the look I had pictured. Our first order went smooth and would have been a 5 star. Unfortunately, the second order had broken tiles and was delayed beyond verbal agreement. Minus a star because we needed to order extra bar tiles in the middle of installation and placed the order on a Tues morning right when they opened, and were told due to the holiday (next day, the 4th) the tiles should come by Friday at the latest but maybe could be there on Thurs. Well Friday came and went and they didn't come. I called them on Saturday for follow up and was told that I would receive a call back. Thankfully they didn't fully drop the ball and they did call me back but with the news that the tiles would not ship until Monday/Tuesday. We picked up our tiles that Wednesday following when they arrived. So it delayed our project by about a week. I get that the holiday affected times but they never acknowledged that I was told by Friday, and they didn't deliver it by that date. Further, we had to pay for the shipping and make the drive all the way out to Ventura despite having delays (I assume the original lady whom I spoke with on Tues didn't call the company that had the tiles to make sure our order would be processed quickly with the holiday). Tip: The finish pieces that we ordered the second time around were wrapped in a bundle so when I inspected the tile when I picked up, it never occurred to me to open the bundle to make sure all of the pieces were intact. (The first set were in a box stacked) Unfortunately, 3 of the 10 quarterrounds were cracked so our installer had to finagle a solution since I wasn't willing to wait any longer or go through the order process again. Make sure you actually take the time to open each box and bundle when you pick up because they do not refund for damage. read more

I went in to the Ventura Tileco searching for a very specific size shower tile for a small repair. I even brought a sample tile in with me and initially was so excited that they had a replacement fit. The representative went to the back room and assured me that the tile she found would work. I prepaid for all materials and was told the shipment would be in the following week. When the tile came in, it was indeed the right size, but was the wrong width. I took the box back and explained to the representative that the tiles were the wrong size and I would not be able to use the ones I purchased. She then explained to me that the size tile I needed was no longer made. She also said that all sales are final and I would not be able to return the box of tile, grout and sealer I bought. I requested that she please speak to her manager and explain that I brought the tile in for exact comparison and due to her guarantee that the tile was the correct size, purchased tile that I could not use. She said she would look into it. I then went over to DalTile with the same sample I had brought to Tileco, explained my situation, and was able to purchase and use mosaic tile that was the correct width. I have not heard anything back from Tileco as of yet, and it has been over a month. I am stuck with about $100 in materials (I did leave the box of tile with Tileco hoping someone would reach back out) that is useless to me. I understand it was a mistake that the representative did not check the width, but the companies no refund or returns policy should have an exception when it was their own representatives that made the mistake. read more

The store in Santa Barbara is so well setup, the selection so varied, but most importantly, the staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. My contractor recommended them and told my wife and I to come here for all our flooring and tile to pick out. I knew more than her. And then she received help but that convo didn't help us at all. This isn't the only game in town but they do have a good, varied selection. The staff can't be bothered to work with clients doing small projects tho'. "Contractors ordering more" were mentioned more than once by retail and warehouse staff which is unusual because customers pay the rent no matter how large or small, especially in a town that's growing, renovating, and recovering from devastation. What's worse is they exhibit zero patience for disability, making it very clear you're a bother and taking up their time. Be aware that choosing TileCo as a supplier won't be the best experience you've ever had--you need patience for sure--but when they're the only supplier available for the products you want, needs must. As a service member and veteran, I have never received any bad service. I understand that sometimes things happen, I'm always looking for the positive side of the situation, and I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I enjoy leaving positive reviews and notifying the online community of great experiences. However, I will never recommend this place to anyone and if you don't believe me, research and compare. I should not have ignored the red flags, but I wanted to support a local vendor, and that was my mistake. For example, they don't have many reviews, which is odd for their high star rating. Here's why, clientele walked into the site to compare prices, and they walked out. They don't explain their product policies well. However, if there is something wrong with the product, you'll get a detailed explanation as to why they cannot accept a return. Their shipment process is uncoordinated, and it's never their fault, it's the shipping carrier. Case in point, I was given a tracking number to track my shipment to the store, then why not offer the option to have it shipped to your place of residence? Also, if they're buying from another vendor, then why does the customer have to purchase the product from them? Reason being, because this way you will have to pay an increased mark up which they profit and you overpay. Customer service is inadequate, you're told, "we will get back you to." However, I was the one that had to call them. My recommendation, go to Lowe's or Home Depot. Prices are much cheaper, exceptional customer service, and if you bought an item, you could return it with no exceptions. read more

Tileco has a much better selection than the big home stores. The prices are higher, and you more than likely have to order it, but if you don't find anything at the big home stores, come here. It's the only good option in Ventura and I recommend to anyone. Service is good also. read more

Where to begin....I had some tile work done years ago and our tile guy took us here to pick tile. When we decided to replace our tub and tile shower enclosure, we came back. We selected a basic white tile with matching bullnose and a mosaic accent strip. We were told it should arrive within a week. We did the demo and installed the tub and prep'd the walls for tile...and waited. No call. Finally we called and they told us it was in. Who knows how long it was there. Went to pick it up and out of the 20 bullnose tiles, they had 4, and 1 was damaged so I took 3. The other 17 are now coming from New Jersey. They told me 2 weeks. No offer to FedEx to expedite. Finally, we called again to find out that the tiles had come in. Took them home and installed them. When it came time to use the original 3, they didn't match. I took them back and they ordered 3 more. The salesperson called to give the dimensions to the supplier. Another few days go by. This time she called me, but said she thinks they're wrong again. Yep, they're the same wrong tiles. The manager is now involved and is calling the supplier. He orders 8 more.....wrong again. He refunds me the cost of the bullnose, and I go to Lowes to figure out what I can do to finish this job. The final straw is when I call to see if he'll take back 14 field tiles for a refund. He tells me he needs to call the supplier. They don't like to take back open boxes because of the batch differences. I find it ironic that they care so much about the batch differences on returns, but not on the sale. I guess it really doesn't matter though, because in typical fashion, he never calls me back. Needless to say, I won't be back, and do not recommend this store. read more

We purchased a stone mosaic pattern for our shower floor. We properly sealed this material over the past few years. The black stone is slowly deteriorating. I called Tileco to report this. I also emailed pictures. Tileco management finally sent back a response saying that we have high concentrations of calcium in our water. The calcium, over time, breaks down the stone. He also stated that the picture shows that all the stone is breaking down. I invited them to come over and check this material out. All they said is that I was "out of luck". They offered nothing. So, beware of this store, as they do not stand behind their product. They offer no customer service, so we wish you luck. read more
