Unfortunately, that warranty has turned out to be a complete disappointment. A few months ago, our washer began stopping mid-cycle after only a few minutes. We were able to temporarily reset it, but we knew there was still an underlying issue because intermittent appliance problems almost always get worse over time. Despite the fact that the earliest available service appointment was three weeks away, we kept the appointment so the issue could be properly diagnosed before it became a major problem. When the technician finally arrived, he simply ran one cycle, declared the machine "fine," and left without performing any meaningful inspection or troubleshooting. As we suspected, the problem continued to worsen and now happens during every single load. When I called Don's Service Department again, I was told it would be another two-week wait just to have a technician diagnose the problem, followed by another two-week wait to return and install any necessary parts. Expecting customers to go without a washing machine for a month is completely unreasonable, especially for families with young children. What made this experience even worse was how I was treated by the woman in the service department. I explained that I was frustrated because the technician had failed to properly investigate the issue during his previous visit, and now the problem had become significantly worse. Rather than showing any understanding or offering a solution, she was dismissive and rude. We are now pursuing a refund for the extended warranty because it has provided little to no value (although it's doubtful Dons will grant a refund). An extended warranty is only worthwhile if the company can provide timely, competent service when it's actually needed. Instead, we've experienced long delays, inadequate troubleshooting, and poor customer service. It certainly makes you question whether the lack of available technicians is intentional, knowing many customers will eventually give up and pay someone else to fix the problem rather than wait weeks for service. I am extremely disappointed in Don's. We spent extra money believing we were investing in reliable support, but when we needed that support, the service simply wasn't there. I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing an extended warranty from Don's to think twice.
