My experience with Don's was outstanding from purchase to delivery. Our clothes washer konked out after more than a decade of faithful service. Logically my wife wanted the same make and model- GE Profile. I found it at Best Buy online at a good price. I had to wait 3 weeks for delivery. Two days before the delivery date Best Buy notified me that I would have to wait 3 more weeks and MAYBE it would be in stock by then. I canceled that order and spoke with Chantel at Don's. I was told they just got delivery of GE Profiles, and that she could have one delivered in 2 days. Nice! Because the dirty clothes was piling up. On delivery day, two young men arrived ahead of schedule. They unboxed, installed and were gone all in 20 minutes. As for my experience with Don's, everything was perfect. I would give them 0 stars if possible, but it is not. What should have been a straightforward appliance delivery turned into a drawn-out and frustrating experience. We initially placed our order with a confirmed delivery date of April 2. However, when we called a week in advance to confirm, we were told that the refrigerator and cooktop would not be delivered as scheduled. Only after I followed up was the refrigerator added back to the April 2 delivery. On that date, several items did arrive--but the dishwasher showed up damaged, with a crushed rear corner. While we agreed to a replacement, there was no proactive communication about its status. The replacement didn't arrive until April 9, and the cooktop--originally scheduled for April 2--was delayed until April 16, a full two weeks late. Because of this delay, we were forced to postpone our countertop contractors, creating additional disruption to our project timeline. In total, we had to rearrange our schedules three separate times just to accommodate deliveries. The most frustrating issue, however, was with the double oven. Our cabinets were built according to the dimensions provided in your specification packet, yet the oven did not fit. When we raised this concern, instead of working toward a solution, your team chose to argue the measurements. Ultimately, we were forced to pay out of pocket to have our cabinetry modified--something that should not have been necessary and was never offered to be remedied by your company. Between the missed delivery commitments, damaged product, lack of communication, and refusal to take accountability, this experience fell well below expectations. read more

WOW, what is an extended warranty worth if when you call for service, they tell you that it will be 2 weeks before they can come out and assess the problem. I don't know about any of you but who can wait that long. So, we purchased a GE washer in August 2023. We needed service on 12/2/2025 and the best that Don's Appliance would offer is 12/17/2025. Funny how when they sold me the extended warranty they didn't say, oh but you'll have to wait 2 weeks for a tech to come out. I have NEVER been a fan of the extended warranty. Just for this type of situation. But Don's Appliance gets the award for most lame. Be very careful to ask question about how their extended warranties actual work and perform. read more

We purchased a new whirlpool wrf555sdhw07 Refrigerator last April from Don's appliances for our kitchen remodel, to be completed in June (2024). On the 2nd day of use, the ice crusher broke. We called the east liberty store and got abused by the responder/salesperson. We gave up, despite the rudeness. Now, the seals on the refrigator are shredding after only 15 months of use. Horrible customer service. Bought a speed queen washing machine, one week later it was banging and putting holes in my clothing. Service tech came out, diagnosed, and ordered parts. Two weeks later, they also diagnosed the problem was a factory part that NEVER breaks, and was causing agitator to not stay on. So last week finally it was supposed to be repaired and we are still finding holes in our clothing. I called and talked to a representative, who told me she also invested in an expensive refrigerator and "it happens". I shopped local, I wanted to give a small business our money, not a box store, since we ourselves are small as well. I could be more disappointed in the machine, but more this companies lack of customer concern. I bought a Hotpointe 4.0 Cu and it was delivered Monday, January 5. I noticed immediately that the water level, even put on MAX only gave a low water level load. I called them that day, but was told it was because it was a "test run", etc. etc. But it continued to give low water levels throughout the week. However,I waited until Friday, January 9 when my cleaning person came, to see if I was doing something wrong before calling them again. I do NOT have it on AUTO-SET. I have it on MAX LOAD. I called them, they said to put it on MAX and "BULK" load to get a full washer of water. I did this, it still only fills 1/3 up... Since it was only FOUR DAYS OLD plus I took out extended warranty, I wanted them to come out and fix it. I was talked to like I Was an idiot with them trying to tell me THIS WAS NORMAL to only fill up 1/3 way lol. (so should I do mini loads for the rest of my life on a new washer....). The internet said there were lots of trouble shooting things they could do to determine the problem, but they said they'd SEND SOMEBODY OUT JANUARY 28 (ALMOST 3 WEEKS FROM NOW) to look at it, but they told me filling up only 1/3 way is NORMAL... and that is that the repair man would tell me the same thing.. what????? I told them to take the washer BACK THEN. They said they could NOT take back a FUNCTIONING WASHER. But It is NOT functioning... I had read online about people complaining about the water levels. But when it was installed, I asked about this... The installation tech told me, yes, I could get a full load by turning the knob to the MAX water setting, and that people probably had it set on auto. I CANNOT WAIT almost 3 WEEKS for someone to come out only to try to "pacify" me and say this is NORMAL when I have the MAX WATER LEVEL ON!! They sure got the washer here quickly (within 4 days - and even could have gotten it here in 2 days (but I was working that day) and hook it up, when they wanted my PURCHASE. I cannot do without a functioning washer for almost 3 weeks so I want it OUT OF HERE since they can't come out on a timely basis (like within a week) to look at it and fix it; and I will purchase immediately a new FUNCTIONAL washer. This, in my opinion, is a SENSOR or FAULTY PRESSURE LEVEL SWITCH. The service department girl threatened that if I dispute the charge, they will NOT come out at all to look at the washer unless I pay a "service fee" for them to come out. Lol. This is a NEW WASHER - 4 days old...JUST COME AND TAKE THIS WASHER BACK!!!! Yet they refused to come and take it back and give me a credit.... I then put a STOP PAYMENT/DISPUTE on my credit card as they left me with no choice. Shortly before Christmas our washing machine broke and we had family coming yo stay with us. We had purchased the five year extended warranty and when I called the service department they told me it had expired in the past couple months. So that being my luck I decided to schedule and pay for the service, I was then told that they couldn't come out for three and a half weeks, and I would have to pay $170 up front before they would schedule. The service agent came across like take it or leave it. After all the business I gave this company and they were totally unwilling to help me out when I needed it. So I called GE repair service and they were out in two days at a service charge a lot cheaper than Dons and they repaired it that day and gave me a 25 % discount on the repair. They saved our Christmas, something Dons was unwilling to do!!! Today when dishwasher bought at Don's was being installed by person I hired, they told me dishwasher was used and damaged. Called salesperson Bill repeatedly. Never returned calls and Frank yelled at me in Highland Park store. When tried to return every store refused to take it and misled person as to where wardhouse was. After years of buying appliances from Big Box retailers, we wanted to give a small, local business our business. We went to Don's Appliances looking for a fridge. We purchased said fridge. We also purchased the extended warranty. Here we are, less than 3 years later, and the fridge and freezer have stopped working. I called two days ago for a service call. I was told that the service people were booked THREE WEEKS OUT!!!! Totally unacceptable! I said, well, in that case, you should allow me to bring in my own service person who could do the repair sooner, and honor the warranty for that. She said they don't do that. She also sent me a text message stating that if it is determined at the time of service that the warranty doesn't "cover" what is wrong with the fridge, then we will be charged for the service time AND the parts. WHAT????? What is the point of having an expensive extended warranty?? I called to try to speak with the service manager, Ted, for two days. I left several messages. He has not returned my call. Today I called Ted's boss, Matt and of course it went to voice mail. It said to leave a text message, which I did, and have not heard back from anybody about this. We've lost a freezer full of food, and are about to lose a full refrigerator full of food. And nobody in this company seems to care about their customers, beyond the sale. I am going to file a complaint with the better business bureau. I wish I had read the reviews on this company before we purchased from them. I just had a great experience with Don's . I bought an investment/rental property and was in town only for the closing + 2 days. I went to Don's in East Liberty and a knowledgeable and friendly sales person helped me select new appliances. I compared prices with Home Depot and Lowe's in detail both for the appliances (fridge, dishwasher, range, over the counter microwave) and for installation and hauling away of old appliances. Same price but at Don's they could deliver next day and with Home Depot it was a week. The sales person then made a mistake and put the wrong date for delivery so when I hadn't heard about my delivery window at 9 pm I went on their site and actually found a human being manning the chat who promised to flag my case with his manager. The next morning at 730 am I received a text that delivery was on and by 1 pm, about 24 hrs after purchase all appliances were installed. I also appreciated the app that allowed you to track in real time the location of the delivery truck. A great experience and a sigh of relief after reading the bad reviews (which I only saw after I had purchased with them). read more

I purchased a Whirlpool model # WRT541SZDB03 refrigerator on 9/3/25 which was delivered on 9/5/2025.I waited 24 hours before plugging it in and then set the temperature the freezer and refrigerator at the recommended factory settings. The freezer only went to 30 degrees, and the refrigerator was 48. I let it sit for several hours thinking it would adjust. I put 4 thermometers 2 in the freezer and two in the refrigerator The temperature stayed way to low, so I turned the temperature controls to one click higher so then the freezer went to 0 and the refrigerator was on 35. I decided to watch it for a while and let it set for a few hours. The temperature had gone from 0 to 28 in the freezer and 35 to 26 in the refrigerator. Every time I looked the temperatures were changing. I couldn't put food in it because it was going from low to high continuously. After trying to get it to stabilize I put in a call to Don's on 9/7 and told them the problem and told them I wanted to return it within the 48 hours. Noah said we had to have a repair man come before we could return it, so they sent a repair man Dan on 9/10/2025. The repair man told us Whirlpool was notorious for this problem, and he would submit a report requesting that we get a different brand refrigerator since we got a lemon. Now it is 9/15/2025 and finally got a call from Matt in management who informed us Dan the repair man said the refrigerator was operating fine after telling me it was defective and he would send another repair man on 9/17 but then called back and said they could not come here until 10/3. He also said the repairman can't stay to see the fluctuation. Now I am sitting here with a refrigerator I can't put food in an ice maker with a block of ice because the temperature keeps going up and down. Not to mention I have medication that requires refrigeration that can't freeze. Matt informed me that he would not ever exchange this refrigerator for another model and that if we continue to call for service I would be charged even though I paid $209.99 for a 5-year warrantee through Don's. I want an exchange to a different brand of refrigerator that actually cost less than the Whirlpool as an even trade. The return policy says you can return within 7 days in which we asked to return within 48 hours before they sent a repairman. But Noah the man who sold it to us said they had to send a repairman once to initiate a return. Now they say they have to send another repairman a month later, so I am well past the return date. Beware they are scammers who don't stand behind their products. Believe the BBB reports and bad reviews on google! I have to have a refrigerator that I can rely on because I am on Palliative care, and I am on oxygen plus take special medication that needs to be kept cold not frozen. We came to Don's Appliances after a bad experience with Lowe's. Our original purchase was a GE Cafe rangetop to replace an older cooktop. The installation of the range went so well that when our washer died the same weekend we weren't upset. We figured Don's would give us another stellar experience. We chose a GE washer/dryer combo and installation was scheduled for two days later. Our washer/dryer are on the second floor of our townhome in a laundry closet. The washer sits in a drain pan connected to a PVC pipe underneath to prevent flooding. The pan has had water in it a few times in the five years since our home was built, and we've never had an issue with leaks. During the installation I heard a lot of banging, scraping, and one crash as if they dropped the washer. I was concerned about the integrity of the area but not quite enough to stop the installation. Two hours later I'm shopping and my fiancé calls to say the washer is full of hot water that won't stop running, even when the machine is unplugged. Only turning off the hot water line stops it. I came home to find water in the drain pan and a very humid laundry closet. The washer was wet in the front and back, so it wasn't clear where the water in the pan came from. I was upset that our new washer needed to be replaced, but little did I know the nightmare hadn't even begun yet. An hour later during dinner I'm hit in the face with a drop of water. I look up to see our ceiling soaked, enough to make the drywall seams severely sag. We run upstairs to try and stop the leaking, and as soon as my fiancé steps into the laundry closet the glass shade on the lighting fixture drops to the ground and breaks. His foot and leg are now bleeding as we stuff towels into the front of the drain pan in a desperate attempt to stop the water. We finally got in touch with someone from Don's two days later who assured us that they have a restoration company contracted to help fix what happened. I was expecting a replacement washer and a refund to help cover the cost of repairs, so their initial response impressed me. The contractor in charge of the restoration and another installation team from Don's came at the same time to replace our broken washer and assess the damage. The drain pan was wet underneath and the interface between it and the pipe was loose. The tile floor underneath was cracked, likely due to the washer being dropped. We were left with fans and a dehumidifier running on over the weekend to stop any mold growth. On Monday morning I hear from the contractor that Don's isn't responding to him about us. He came to pick up his equipment and that's the last we saw of him. Later that day I get a call from the installation manager who informs me that their service team can find "nothing wrong" with the washer, therefore the water damage to our ceiling is being questioned via an insurance claim. The reason for the claim is that the cost of repairing the damage they caused is too high for him to "hide it" among other expenses (his words not mine). He never asked the second team of installers about what they saw, which was the washer's hot water connection not working correctly and a drain pan that allowed water to leak underneath it. It's been five days, and I can barely get anyone from Don's to answer my calls. Our ceiling is damaged with no resolution, and the manager from Don's has told me he doesn't know what recourse we have if their insurance denies the claim. He suggested we file our own homeowners insurance claim and incur a $1,000 deductible because of a leak that happened hours after they installed a new washer. Don's is a business with a great reputation, so I never would have envisioned being in this mess with them. Even if they do need to submit to their insurance, why make a customer who was so inconvenienced wait for an undetermined amount of time for repairs? We are hosting Thanksgiving for our family members in five weeks, and right now I'm heartbroken at the prospect of our ceiling looking like a war zone with no end in sight. read more

This is the worst customer service experience I've had in years. They have failed to deliver my refrigerator twice now, costing me a half-day of work only to find out that they delivered to the wrong address. Rather than fix it. They gave a lame apology and promised it today. After the chat bot informed me that they were leaving the south hills to deliver to my residence on the southside (30 minutes in traffic) they were sent to Bentleyville (an hour away) for gas and still aren't here. I am at least an hour from getting my delivery and I have wasted an entire Saturday waiting at home. Do NOT do business with the clowns. I would like to start by very clearly stating that Don's service department has been very responsive and helpful throughout this situation. My challenge is more systemic with the larger company and internal processes. We ordered three appliances as part of a kitchen remodel. The new refrigerator was delivered without the hardware needed to install the door handles. We have been waiting since mid-July and only today (8/11) were informed that the hardware will be shipped to us and that we will need to install the door handles ourselves. Additionally, we ordered a range hood that stopped working after one week of use. For this, we were asked to call the manufacturer and obtain an authorization # for Don's to make a service call. 2+ hours waiting on the phone with the manufacturer and still no authorization #, have not even spoken to an agent despite two requests for a callback. I feel strongly that this legwork should not be put back on the customer. There should be a point of contact within Don's that can manage al of this for us. We pay a premium for Don's service and reputation and feel abandoned once the check was cashed. Update: Shortly after posting this review. Don's offered to handle the refrigerator setup. We purchased an LG refrigerator at Don's in May 2021. we had trouble with it from the start. We were not able to get a tech scheduled for several weeks. Three times between August and October service techs were out. We achieved only a marginally acceptable level of usefulness that we lived with for several months. Finally, after a weekend trip we came home a literally had to throw out groceries that we just purchased three days earlier. I contacted the store, they assured me that they would have someone contact me. After a week of crickets, I called again and they admitted that they forgot!! I called LG but they still have not responded. Anyway, Don's said the warranty was over but they can look at it in three weeks!!! Please take caution with these folks. They will abandon you the moment that you have an issue. They say that they cannot deal with LG, but they still sell LG products. So, you are stuck on your own!!! read more

I just finished a horrific service experience with Don's. My Capital range has two out-of-commission ovens. One needs an igniter and one needs a thermostat. I waited months for parts - Capital's issue, not Don's - and Don's communication about the state of my request was hit-and-miss but adequate. The REAL killer is that, when they finally got parts and came to do the repair in early November, the tech claimed to have repaired the large oven. I figured that I at least had ONE oven working, so okay. Guess what? The tech never demonstrated to me that the oven he repaired worked and, when I tried it within an hour of his departure, IT DIDN'T WORK. I called immediately and the service person told me they could not schedule me until the end of November! I asked if there was any way they could come back and finish the oven repair they said they made before then, but they refused to come back without getting the other parts for the other repair. They pushed appointments multiple times, finally out to December 23. On the 23rd, when I didn't see a tech, I called and they told me then that they had rescheduled my appointment again without notifying me. Despite numerous messages left and requests to speak with their service manager, I received no outreach. I can hardly imagine a more effective way to tell me that my business matters nothing to them. I discovered that Bridgeville Appliance is a dealer for Capital, have scheduled a service call, and am pretty happy to have dumped these guys. I don't care if I have to wait another six months for parts - it's worth it. Bye bye, Don's Appliances! UPDATE: Don's Appliances sent me a $400+ invoice for a trip charge, labor, and some oven hinges that it doesn't seem like I actually needed. I responded in email and noted that I had already paid the trip charge and would pay half of the labor charge, since the tech did install a couple of the burner igniters that I provided. I explained that the oven door issue (broken cleaning lock) was still broken and that their replacement of the oven hinges did nothing to change the door operation. I offered to pay for the hinges if they could explain to me why they needed to be changed, otherwise I would simply pay $55 for the labor. To their credit, they simply accepted the $55 payment and moved on. (Meanwhile, Bridgeville Appliance came supplied with parts, fixed my ovens, and I'm back in business after five months without them.) read more

I purchased a speed queen washer end of Jan. They installed it incorrectly. They had to come back out and reinstall it correctly. The reinstall, they were extremely rough with the washer. The washer then stopped working Mar 1, 2024, a little over 30 days later. Don's could not get a service to fix until Mar 21, 2024. I had to call Speed Queen the company to see if they could help. They were able to help right away and sent Gold appliance service our. Come to find out from Gold's Appliances, the shoes were off the feet of the washer, the washer was not level and the drum was off center due to Don's install. I will never purchase another appliance from Don's and I advise you to do the same. read more

Purchased a Jenn Air double oven built in product. I would not recommend Jenn Air products despite the upsell. The oven has had multiple issues that now total $1600 in repair costs. I'm surprised to see all the poor reviews. I just got a new GE dryer from Don's in East Liberty and everything went like clockwork. I went in knowing which model I wanted and it was available at a good price. It was delivered two days after purchase. Not a scratch on it. The guys who bought it in and installed it were courteous and efficient. I can't think of anything lacking. And their system of keeping you apprised of the arrival time is great; no waiting and wondering, just hit the link on the email or text message and up pops the ETA. Installed waterline to fridge improperly and caused water damage to our home. They came back and corrected the mistake and now refuse to fix the water damage . Wouldn't ever use this company again. Would give zero stars if possible . read more

I've used Don's for repairs a couple times even though I've never bought an appliance there, and that was fine before. However, I called last week for help with a stove and dishwasher, and the receptionist seemed to be annoyed with the fact that I called for repairs when I didn't buy the appliances there. First she asked me kind of curtly, "How old are these appliances?" Apparently she was reading a note that last time they came my stove was too old for them to repair (for the record I still paid $100 bucks for them to come out! Let's call it even?). Anyway I assured her this was a different stove. Seemingly unconvinced, she then reminded me that the last call was just in 2019. I reassured her that yes, we've gotten a new one since then. Then she asked where I got it from? I said Lowe's. She then said they can't service it since they didn't sell it to us. Now that's the first time I'd ever heard that before, and I've used them twice, plus don't see that requirement in their appointment materials. So I tried to asked her when that started, but she started talking over about how this is the policy and I their scheduling time is long. I asked again and instead of answering she again talked more about the scheduling time and that I should contact the manufacturer directly for advice (huh?!?). So I told her the scheduling wait was not a problem for me, but she replied kind of annoyed that it's a problem for them, like I was being inconsiderate lol. So I literally asked her if I had done something to agitate her, and that I was just trying to ask when this policy started. She backpedaled and finally said no she wasn't agitated and it'd been a couple months now. Ok Ms., thank you, all I wanted to know. I literally will not bother you all again. Couple things here. One, frankly, if you absolutely cannot take my business because your full and/or I don't qualify, out of courtesy refer me to another provider. Don't refer me to the manufacturer if it's past warranty. Second, the irony here is that I ended up needing a new dishwasher and a new stove hood, so this service call could have been been parlayed into two sales if handled correctly. Oh well. I bought 4 appliances (in s short period of time) from Dons appliance the last being a Dishwasher. At first was very happy. 4 Months later the Dishwasher (kitchen Aide) broke at only 4 months old. First time it took 6 weeks to come repair. They couldn't repair it. I had to wait another 4 weeks to only find out that they were giving me a new one. Great! Not so great. Went to pick up the new one brought it home, installed it. Opened it up to only find that the inside was all dented and the bottom spinner that cleans was broken off. Called them immediately. Almost a week later now, still no answer Still no dishwasher still no answer from them. At this point I am beyond frustrated. Will not buy from them ever again. Also had a service man work on my washer from there it is worse AFTER he worked on it than before. It bangs so loudly now It will break soon I am sure of it. UPDATE: Dons did finally reach out to me and they have scheduled to bring me a completely new Dishwasher. I wish this was handled better so that I didn't have to write the review in the first place but in the end it is fixed. I guess alls well that ends Well. After problems with a delivery called three times only to get a call back nine days later. Very poor service.

Each appliance we ordered for our new kitchen from here has had an issue. Our brand new sub zero fridge has had issues already, mini fridge leaked all over new floor ruined it, fan had issues, what is going on at this place?!? Brand new kitchen is a mess because we chose you to fill it! Sorry my contractor chose you. Beyond disappointed and upset :( people should know!!! Allison from Dons appliance you have done NOTHING to help, you are supposed to send someone between 11-2 NO one showed up, your place is full of excuses and zero deliver I spent over $15,000 in your store You did nothing to help us, will never ever go here again! Go to Bridgville appliance they know customers and how to appreciate them, send your employees there to learn! You are awful. read more

We ordered a washer/dryer from Lowes and because their delivery guys did not want to carry it up the 2nd floor they had us waiting and canceled 4 different deliveries we had scheduled. It was a nightmare and we were so upset . Finally we decided to try Don's and It was such a wonderful experience. The delivery guys were amazing and nice ,and no complaining and they hooked everything up correctly. We will now be ordering all appliances from Don's. They are a family business and the guys inside the store are great to deal with also. I can't recommend this place enough after having suffered with Lowes read more

The crew of 3 with Gary as the driver delivered my new washer with care and efficiency. When I discovered that the water hoses were reversed they responded quickly and resolved the problem within minutes. Our salesman , Quinn, also took the time to make sure we had the right fit for the area where the washer was to be installed. I know if I ever need any other appliances that Don's will be my first choice. read more

Sold me a defective appliance and put me on a merry go round to get it resolved. Should have been replaced. A lot of people think this is a better option than big box stores. Actually it is just as frustrating. Chatbot communication you can't respond to, long waits for service to answer. If you choose them, don't accept the appliance until the installers (that include subcontractors despite what salespeople tell you) fully demonstrate and test appliance. read more
