BEST BARBER SHOP IN SEATTLE. The very first time I got my hair cut here I knew I was going to be back. Everyone here is so friendly and funny. I moved away for a couple years and then when I came back they all immediately recognized me and remembered my name and everything I had told them in the past. I was extremely impressed. They also have great prices and super clean hair cuts. This place deserves recognition! read more

Tight Cuts - Fresh fade by MJ - Barbers Near Me - Seattle, Washington

An amazing walk-in barber shop in Seattle; very quick and very clean haircuts given. Extremely friendly barbers and both who have cut it left me very satisfied MJ remembered me after cutting my hair once two months ago. I live in Seattle intermittently, and sporadically and will never not go to Tight Cuts. read more

Took me from a buzz cut to a combover and told me what would look good for the top part read more

You get what you pay for. Haircuts are rushed and uneven. I was skipped over for another customer once even though I was waiting for longer, as well. Overall I would not recommend this place. There are better barbershops around. read more

Clean cuts, friendly welcoming service, and egoless barbers. Dope spot Sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh read more

What more can you ask for, the owner makes the last touches and making sure you get what you want, great quality hair cuts I would recommend this barbershop and have it a try Demy read more

Haircut is very uneven. Process was rushed. I asked for a fade, and for my hair to be even length on the top. The barber ignored my instructions 2 or three times. He cut the right side on the top way shorter than the left, and sloppily and unevenly at that. May need a buzz cut now to even out my hair. read more

It's a nice place! Friendly people working there and it was one of the best cuts I've had in a while. I hadn't tried a fade before, but I tried one there and it turned out great. read more

You pay for what you get for. My hair cut was good but beard was a nightmare. The line up underneath my jaw was terrible. The barber did not use any shaving cream and my face got a rash. I felt sorry for the guy next to me, he was getting a terrible hair cut, another barber had to step in to help the rookie! read more

BEST BARBER SHOP EVER! After my visit today I have officially decided that this is my new barber shop of choice! I recently moved to the UW area and was searching for a new barber shop that could do a clean fade and wasn't super expensive. When I arrived I noticed there was a ton of people sitting in the waiting area so I almost decided to go somewhere else, but after only about 2 minutes of waiting they called my name. M.J. Was very friendly and funny. He worked very quickly and efficiently and the ceramic blade on his clippers made it feel amazing. At the end he even did some finishing touches with the straight razor! You can't beat that kind of service all for only like $25! read more

Tight Cuts - Fresh hair cut! - Barbers Near Me - Seattle, Washington

It's been a few months since I've started going to Tight Cuts. I can say, without a doubt, my hair cut has always come out excellent and consistent. I've dabbled in quite a few different barbershops throughout my 4+ years living in Seattle, and the haircuts here are way above your regular barber and at a reasonable price. Keep in mind it's a cash only establishment ($30, but don't forget to tip your barber). Staff is friendly and quick, but they don't sacrifice quality for their speed. Hasim does an excellent job and remembers my haircuts. I haven't been cut by the other barbers, but from observation, they all do a great job. I'd highly recommend checking them out! read more

One of the best barber shops I've been too no appointments needed walk rite on in and immediately felt the love from all three barbers. Fresh fade Fridays will never be the same perfect on what I asked for and delivered exactly how I asked for.. Thank you MJ for the Fresh fade definitely coming back for more cuts at your spot. Gracias amigo. Peace read more

First ever time reviewing a barber shop. Lived in Seattle almost 4 years. MJ was my go-to barber almost every haircut in Seattle. Even after moving out of U district, it was worth the trip to get a consistent and wonderful haircut/beard trim. Felt like I cheated on him when I tried someplace new. Highly recommend. read more

Since the first time I came here after living in the area for 2 years, I can confidently say this place has always delivered and exceeded my expectations every time I have a come in for a cut. While it may be slightly more expensive than some of the other shops on the Ave, it's definitely worth it and all the barbers there really know what they're doing. Plus, if you're in a rush they can get your cut done quick (less than 10-15 minutes) even while maintaining a high quality experience and haircut that you'll be satisfied with. read more

MJ and Yasin are the best. Hands down. I've been coming here for 3 years now and I don't know what I'm gonna do if one of them leaves. They both learn about the same customers and consult each other on what the customer wants. I don't even tell them what I want anymore. I just sit in the chair and let them do whatever they want. That kind of trust is 1) hard to find in a barber 2) has a lot of value. MJ has told me he goes to conferences for hair cutting and is always working on his skills. Dude's probably gonna cut hair for celebrities one day, so come in here before that happens. Another review mentioned here said that the guy's friend partially wants to come back to Washington for the haircut, I completely believe that. Also I have white guy hair and I've heard Asian hair is pretty different and hard to find a good barber for. That being said, a lot of Asian guys come in here who look pretty happy when they leave. read more

Like the rest of the reviews state, MJ is the man. Yes, for Asian hair too. Had a friend from out of town visit me, and I happened to need a haircut, so he came along and got one too. Now he partially wants to come back here for a haircut. From a different state. Need I say more? read more

Usually, I'm quite skeptical of most barbershops, as my hair isn't the easiest to cut by any means, so i've had my fair share of sub-par haircuts. So of course I had my doubts when coming to Tight Cuts. I mean, haircuts are pretty important. It's one of the first things people notice about you when they meet you. But after getting my hair cut here, all my preconceived doubts disappeared. My hair used to be nothing to note, but after getting my hair cut here, I've gotten more complements about my hair in the span of a couple weeks than I had in the rest of my life, combined. In addition to being very skilled barbers who are obviously good at their craft, the customer service and friendliness I've experienced here has also been incredible. The barbers have no problem sparking up friendly conversation and cracking occasional, good-hearted jokes. Overall, my experience at Tight Cuts falls nothing short of excellent, and as long as I'm in Seattle, this will be my go-to spot for haircuts. Haircut Review: 9.5/10 Customer Service Review: 9/10 Payment Options: 3/10 (They only accept cash, so be wary of this! It'd be great if they began to accept cashless payments via card, Apple Pay, or Venmo, but then again, considering the quality of their work, this is a small inconvenience to face.) read more

This place was really good, it was the first time I got a haircut in Seattle and the barbers are really nice, I didn't really know what kind of cut to get, since it was my first time there but the barber was really helpful with it. I got my haircut about a month ago and would definitely return for another haircut. read more

Gets the job done, but MJ is not that great at cutting Asian hair. Heard that this was a local go-to, so was surprised when I walked out with a below-avg haircut. read more

MJ is my guy, and Yasin is a close second. I've been coming here for 3 years since I came to UW and Tight Cuts is definitely the best place I've tried. University Ave Barbershop screwed up my hair for the worst haircut I've ever gotten, and the HUB is just mediocre. I'm willing to pay a bit more for a haircut, especially if it's decent. I can't be walking out in public with an embarrassing haircut and waiting a month for it to grow back! MJ's customer service is by far some of the best I've ever experienced. Since I've been coming here for years now, he's gotten to know me and what I like, so I don't even need to tell him what I want, unless it's different from my usual. A combination of clippers and his friendly personality keeps me coming back. MJ and Yasin are willing to stay way past "closing" (7 pm) until all people have been treated, I've even been there at 9 pm as one of the last people. Just recently, I showed up before opening (11 am) at 10:30 after class, hoping to avoid lines. MJ gladly welcomed me in before opening hours. Even though prices have gone up from $15 to $20 to $25 since I first started coming to Tight Cuts, I don't trust anyone else in the U-District, and even back home, with my hair. Because service is so good, waits can get up to 2 hours long. Wait times are unpredictable, and they only take walk-ins and cash. Sometimes there will be no wait when I expect there to be, and a 2 hour wait on a Friday night. However, they do give free candy, water, and have iPhone and Android chargers for your wait. MJ at Tight Cuts is definitely my go-to barber! read more

best haircuts i've ever gotten, faster and comparable or lower price than anywhere else. Amazing

Started coming here little over 3 yrs ago and one of the best decisions! MJ and Yasin are so good at what they do and will take care of you. They have the best memory seeing so many ppl and take time to understand what you want. Feel great each time! read more

All three barbers there are professional! I enjoy the conversation with them. Price is affordable and the place is clean. I recommend them to all ages. Thank you Noor! read more

Guy rushed my haircut, I was done very quickly. Didn't listen to my instructions much, seemed more interested in speeding through everyone. It was busy and they only do walk ins. Needless to say my hair looks uneven.. read more

Great haircuts!! I've gone a few times, and I've had a good experience every time. All the employees are friendly and skilled. Haircuts are reasonably priced, and I know I'll look good. Just fyi- they only do walk-ins, but I've never waited more than 15 minutes. read more

MJ and his brother do some of the best cuts in town. They are friendly, communcative and go the distance for those subtle details, they will have you looking fresh in less then 20 min. quality and speed, which is rare! cant beat the price, quality or location! they are as good as it gets! read more

I've been getting my haircuts from great clips my entire life and finally decided to try a barbershop. Did not disappoint. MJ gave me a great fade. Everyone there is super friendly too! read more

I've gotten haircuts here before. The owner is really nice, he's very welcoming and skilled in this field, the other barbers I've seen, not so much. I just recently got my haircut from them about 2 weeks ago and I was absoulutely disappointed. Was nothing like what I asked for and I could tell the barber knew he messed up. I specifically asked for a messy mullet and brought pictures for reference. I even pointed out that I did not want my hair in the back cut and instead I got what seems to be a high fade with multiple bald patches. I spent about 5 months growing my hair out for this cut and it all went to waste. I don't suggest wasting your time getting a cut here if its not from the owner. read more

You know that feeling of anxiety you get when you get your haircut? That fear that they're about to fuck your shit up? I used to get that every time I sat down to get a trim, but then I started going to tight cuts. MJ always hooks it up with the best haircut I've ever had. Each time I come in it feels like I could not get a better cut, then next time I go he outdoes himself. 25$ for such a high quality haircut is really good, I'd pay 40 if I had to. The atmosphere is good and the seats are comfortable. However, you should know that they tend to be busy. The average wait time for me has been about 30 minutes but it's worth it. read more

If anyone is looking for the best place around UW to get a haircut, look no more. Good vibes and a really good price too! Tight cuts is without a doubt the best quality haircut I've ever gotten and I've gone to places that are almost 3 times as expensive. All of stylists there are great but ask for MJ, he will hook you up. read more

Out of all the barbershops I been to, this the most welcoming environment I been to. Not only do they give great haircuts but the guys are super chill and know how to make people feel comfortable. Also it was super quick, normally haircuts take a long time but they did it so fast but it was still nice and detailed. read more

Best barbershop in Seattle in my opinion all the barbers are all really good and they are all razor professionals.

MJ is the BEST!! I love this place and so does my boyfriend :) highly recommend!! They accept walk ins and the place is really clean. I love the environment and am always satisfied with my cut!! read more

MJ is the GOAT of basketball AND haircuts apparently. If I had to judge Tight Cuts based on the amount of people I've heard say the sentence: "MJ treats you right", they would get an instant five stars. Walk-ins only so plan ahead/bring a book. read more

This place is not good if you care about your hair. They chopped my hair really quickly, thinned it without asking, and was looking away from my hair while talking and still cutting hair. read more
