Came here in need of a fresh cut while on vacation and found this place to be wonderful. No appointment necessary, this place was perfect for my schedule. I loved the convenient location as well from where I was staying. Literally, was able to walk in and walk out. Got my head shaved with a beard trip. Perfect! Parking seems to be limited in front of the business, but you will find plenty parking nearby with structures or if you're lucky, you can find paralleled parking right in front. The gentleman that cut my hair was the owner of the business. An established barber shop since 1982, this place still stands. Must be doing something right! Across the street a building structure is being torn down and replaced by a new hotel that will be built. I imagine by next year, this area will be bustling. read more

This once was my go to barber shop, I had a barber that had a falling out with the owner and left and pretty much ghosted me. I came back for a head shave and beard trim the price was higher than before and there's no way to pay by cash or Zelle only Venmo with a 8.95 service fee. Plus I'm a wheelchair user and even when they have their whole place open they make me go to a cringy back room my chair won't even fit in and make me hop out of it. I'm so pissed off with this place. read more

Great spot! Dom did a great job on my haircut and his attention to detail was better than any other barber I have seen. Will definitely be back here in the future. read more

After having Rick cut (actual style quality), I would give six stars if allowed. Having been a professional my entire life and owning multiple businesses, I have a keen understanding of quality. Rick's shop is run professionally. I noticed the recent one-star reviews; it was evident to me that the person writing the reviews was attempting to sabotage the shop rather than enlighten future customers. As a businessman my entire life, it was common for competitors or occasionally freeloaders to use the review system as a tool to either disparage a company, or, in a case at my restaurant, obtain a free meal. 5th Ave Barber has been in business for decades, thanks to Rick Bork, who provides excellent service with honesty and integrity. In addition to a great mens cut, this shop has a terrific masculine vibe. I've been coming here since the early 1990's and find it hard to believe anyone gives it less than five stars. read more

Terrible owner. Bad service. Terrible haircut. Unacceptable behavior. Avoid coming in.

Went here to get a line up. No one was in the shop, as I passed multiple times that day and it was always completely empty. I asked the guy can he give me a line he said he's not good with lines...he was also not really welcoming and to be in the service industry that's the minimum expectation. Needless to say I did not get my hair cut here. read more

Great place for a haircut! Been going to 5th Avenue Barber Shop for a couple of years and always have a great experience. I have a standing appointment every 3 weeks with Rick, the owner, for my haircut. Rick is very welcoming and does a great job on my hair. His shop is clean and well run with a bit of an old school vibe, sports on TV and good, fun and easy conversations. read more

I have been going to Rick, the owner of 5th Ave Barber since I moved to Seattle. Rick always understands exactly what I wants and does does a great job with the cut. The shop can get busy but customer service never takes a backseat, Rick and his team are always welcoming and make sure their customers feel valued and appreciated. There is no shortage of good conversation while you're getting your hair cut. The location is great too, centrally located among apartments, businesses, and hotels with parking nearby. Highly recommend this barber shop. read more

Wonderful experience getting my son in for an impromptu walk-in haircut. Excellent location, very nice staff... kid approved... thank you!

It's the place to go in downtown Seattle for a haircut. This place has been in downtown for quite a number of years and has become an establishment of great service for haircuts. read more

Rick is an absolutely incredible barber and in a class of his own in Seattle. Been coming here after moving up from Portland where I had an incredible barber and even higher standards. I tried a few of the high end shops in the city once I loved, but was still left disappointed. That all changed once I went to 5th Ave and got a haircut / beard fade by Rick. Did an impeccable job and had a great eye for detail. Been going back once a week for a Head Shave ever since. Just make sure you make an appointment as he has a larger group of very loyal regulars. read more

Well first of all, this hair salon has the worst lights ever, the lights are so dim and dull, that you cant see your hair properly. Now during my haircut I felt it looked fine, but once I was back to my place, I was able to see a-lot of mistakes. The most basic thing is to cut hair around the ear in a nice shape, and guess what, he ruined that part, it loos so disgusting. Some hair looks short and some look large, it looks completely messy and frustrating. Seriously how can you cut somebody's hair in a light like that, I couldn't even see that you were making mistakes. I just ruined my day coming here, paid around 50$ for -a 20 min haircut which made me look much worse than before. read more

This barber shop is wonderful!! We're here on vacation and my partner woke up on sat two wishing he'd gotten a cut and trim so I started searching! Rick fit him in today and made us feel so welcome! Haircut and beard trim for a reasonable price, great conversation and a wonderful environment! I highly recommend this place! read more

Both Rick (the owner) and Dee listen to you want in a haircut and are pleasant conversationalists. One of the few really independent hair cut places around. Highly recommended! read more

This was my go to barber until they charged me a no show. This was me calling in 10 minutes late ( coz i had a meeting run over) and i was told "this sucks", but you can come in now, pay for an extra haircut and that's the ok only way to resolve. After coming here for 3 years, won't repeat! read more

Outstanding barber shop!!! Walking distance from my apartment and it is now my go to barber. Did an amazing job with fast and accurate precision!! See you next month! read more

This is a review based on two visits to 5th Avenue Barber Shop. I've had two haircuts here. The first time I walked in and a young woman cut my hair immediately. She seemed to be the only person working that day and she was just finishing with a customer. She asked how I wanted my hair cut. She didn't seem to be put off by the fact it had been months since I had a cut. She just proceeded to the job at hand. To my delight, she didn't engage in a lot of small talk chit-chat. While getting a haircut, I like to relax without having to tell my rather boring life story. In a little less than half an hour, she was done. I really liked the cut. The second visit I also walked in. It was a little busier. There were two men working. I think one was the owner. The other barber asked if I could return in 30 minutes. I had a couple of errands to run. So, this worked well for me. In a half an hour, I returned. He was soon finished with his other client and ready to cut my hair. From this point on, it was pretty much like my first visit. He focused on cutting my hair and did a great job. The cost is $30 for a no-frills haircut. For me, this is a great place to get a haircut. The staff is friendly and professional without being intrusive. They go about their work in a very straightforward manner. The shop is clean and neat. With the leather chairs, it has a feel of a living room. Most importantly, they provide a great haircut. read more

What a wonderful experience. I am from out of town and was here for a wedding. I wanted to get a proper shave and I was having trouble finding a place that does an old school straight razor shave. This barbershop was recommended by concierge at my hotel and let's just say it did not disappoint. From the first moment you walk in you feel welcome. The owner is genuine and really takes time to connect with his customers. He did a great job giving me proper head and face shave. This is truly a list art and they have great experience with their straight razor shave services there. They have been in business for over forty years and they also told me a lot about the city. If you are looking for old school barbershop don't look any further this is the place for you. read more

5th Ave barber was recommended by the concierge. What a great hair cut. I have never flown into a city and needed a hair cut. I'm glad this was the location I tried. The owner kindly fit me into his schedule. I definitely recommend this barber. Even my wife was impressed! read more

Dillon is very diligent at hair cut. Good service, ok price. He ask for your feedbacks at the end, and fox until you're happy

If you have hair, this is the place. If you hate looking good, this is not the place. When your neck tuft starts casting a shadow, call Dee & Dillon. read more

I thoroughly investigated over 3 barbershops when I first moved to Belltown. Figured I should play the field before tying myself down to one barber for the foreseeable future. This was the last place I checked out, mostly because I was really satisfied with my experience. When you know, you know. You know? Anyways, the location is convenient and the decor makes me feel at ease. My barber is a great conversationalist and actually goes beyond facial interest, which really makes the experience more enjoyable. Overall the staff is friendly and very good at making you feel appreciated as a customer. Most importantly, I'm always pleased with my haircut. I'm kind of terrible at describing what I envision my hair looking like (If only I could rock the Zangief), but they seem to pick up on it anyways. I have been completely satisfied with the results of my haircuts here every single time. Rate this place 5/5 and would recommend it to anyone who wants a solid cut and a pleasant experience. read more

I travel a lot to major cities in the West Coast and one of the more important tasks in my to-do list is to find the best barbershop in the area, as getting a fine haircut in a fine setting elevates a gentleman's grooming experience under the hands of a master haircutter. I base my barbershop selection mainly on its crew's physical appearance and hair presentation (as I believe that one person is inclined to groom another in a manner similar to how he/she grooms himself/herself), in the kind of clientele the salon attracts (as I believe that the type of gentlemen getting groomed in a salon speaks volumes re the salon's reputation in the community), and in the salon's 'feel' (as I believe getting a haircut in a fine setting, as I stated earlier, elevates the experience). All these criteria are met, even exceeded, by the 5th Ave Barber & Salon in Seattle, Washington. In the past, I mostly allowed men to cut my hair because I believed a man knew better how to groom another. But, after having my hair cut with grace and precision by a well-mannered lady barber named Dee Phan at the 5th Ave Barber & Salon, let me just say that that belief had been proven wrong. I now see lady barbers in a different light. Also, I appreciate owner Rick's warm welcome and our interesting conversation about the local scene. It is therefore with full confidence that I give 5th Ave Barber & Salon five stars for the stellar experience (and the fine haircut) it gave me. read more

I usually have to try about 10 barbershops before I find one I like whenever I move to a new city... not the case here at all. Fantastic cut with great attention to detail. Unbelievably comfortable chairs. Simple, yet pleasing decor. Very clean. Friendly staff. What more could I ask for? See you in a couple weeks. read more

I scheduled a hot straight razor shave for my boyfriend a week and a half in advance only to be canceled on literally 3 hours before the appointment. Granted it was because the person doing the shave just got out of the hospital, but that means they only have one person to do this. They wouldn't even schedule this before 12:30 because the guy had to have time to wake up. Anyway, this was supposed to be for my boyfriend's birthday and part of a day-long plan. So much for surprises! If you want a place that will follow through with their appointments or at least have a backup, this is not the place to go. I still plan on getting my boyfriend a hot shave, but it won't be here. read more

I have tried many spots for a consistently good haircut, from Rudy's (rude and inconsistent), Gene Juarez (corporate) and Weldon (inexperienced). Since 2008 I have had Dillon at 5th Avenue cut my hair. He and Rick are the real deal. A great men's haircut with no BS. Great prices and they really know their clients. You don't need sleeve tattoos, espresso, or house music at your barber. You need 5th Avenue. read more

The man cutting my hair made many really simple mistakes... Cut an extra 3 inches off one section of the front for some reason, left my side fair uneven... Just really stupid and unforgivable mistakes from someone who says he's been cutting men's hair for decades. read more

Of all the barbers I have had in my lifetime, Dillion is by far the best! He is extremely talented at cutting hair and ensures your complete satisfaction. He is chill and incredible at conversation. Tried to go for a walk-in haircut today at 4:30. I walked in, asked if there was anyone available to cut my hair, and was told "We don't do women's hair." When I explained that I am, in fact, a man, the proprietor told me that they would be closing soon and to try booking an appointment online. It should be noted that the sign on the door clearly stated that they close at 7:00pm today. The level of blatant disrespect here convinced me that I should take my business elsewhere. Definitely not a trans-friendly business, and anyone who wants decent service from someone who takes pride in their profession should look elsewhere. read more

I've been getting my hair cut here for several months and I'm very happy. The place is clean and close to downtown. What makes it great though is Dilion, who cuts my hair. He does a great job and with a few days notice always gets me in. This place saves me from having to go to a uptight salon and that makes it perfect in my book! read more

Dillon at 5th Ave Barber is the only barber/stylist in Seattle who can take my stubborn cowlicks and turn them into a decent photoble do.

One of the worst haircuts I've ever had. The lady spent maybe 10 seconds on my hair, and it wasn't even straight. I could have cut it better myself! read more
