I've been going to Stu for 5+ years now and I can truly say that Stu is one of the best barbers and the only barber in the Seattle area that I trust and recommend. He makes sure to make you feel comfortable coming to the space and is very attentive to what his customers needs are. 10/10 Haircuts ! Good vibes! and Great conversations! read more

Was in Seattle and needed a last-minute cut -- ended up having one of the best barber experiences I've had in a while. He's genuinely a great guy and really listens to what you want. My fade came out super clean and blended perfectly. You can tell he cares about his craft and about his clients. Didn't feel rushed at all, and the whole experience was easy and comfortable. If I lived here, he'd definitely be my go-to. read more

Stu is hands down one of the best barbers I've had. He's given me some of my best cuts in recent years and consistently exceeds my expectations every time. Always reliable and super clean work. On top of that, he's also a vibe to talk to and makes each cut more enjoyable. If you're looking for someone you can trust with your hair, Stu's the guy. Can't recommend him enough. read more

I've been going to Stu for more than 5 years now, and the reason I always come back is his precision. He knows exactly how to cut hair properly and make it look good. I don't know how he does it, but the cut always feels very different and much better than I've had at other places. I always appreciate the quality and consistency, and would highly recommend his place. read more

Stu does line designs for my undercut regularly and he's an absolute pro. So clean and always reliably able to get me in a last minute appointment. I won't go to anyone else. read more

I've been going to Stu every 2-4 weeks for the past 7 years, and he's always been consistent, talented, and professional. I leave every appointment with a fresh cut and have recommended several friends to him over the years. The location is also super convenient, which makes the experience even better. Stu is great! read more

Awesome guy, great haircut. Reasonable price for city rates. Great vibe. "Review needs to be at least 85 characters..."

I scheduled my first appointment with Stu about 4 years ago, and I've been going to him ever since. Stu is a phenomenal barber and I've never been disappointed leaving his shop. I really appreciate the fact that he knows how to cut black hair, as I've asked for many styles over the years, and he's always delivered. I also appreciate his attentiveness and the way he asks clarifying questions when necessary. Moreover, the ease of scheduling appointments with him is why I've remained a satisfied customer. read more

When I moved to Seattle at the beginning of the year, I was ready to try out a few barbers until I found the one that could cut my hair and give me the exact type of fade I wanted. I'm happy to say Stu was the first and only barber I needed to go to! His haircuts are great quality, consistent, relatively well priced, and always come with great convo. Can't recommend Stu enough! read more

Great work ethic on a talented guy! Found him after seeing someone at a game with a hawk on the back of their head. I called Stu after searching on Yelp for a barber who could do my undercut right. He talked me through what the process would entail (as I'd never had an undercut prior to this one). I booked an appointment for a week later and ta-da! I couldn't be happier with my first undercut - I have a ton of hair and it is really weighed down at the back usually. Now it is lighter, and I have a cool design to wear with pride. I will be rocking the updo this Hawks season every day now! Stu works out of the salon called Collage on 1st. right in the heart of Belltown - easy to find and warm and inviting inside. The girl who checked me in was sweet and got me a water as I waited. I will definitely be back here for future hair care needs! read more

Stu is fantastic, been going to him for years now and don't look or think about finding anyone else to cut my hair. When moving to Seattle, I really wanted to find someone who could do a good fade. Stu was the second person I tried and didn't need to look further. 10/10! read more

I did a lot of research to find the right barber being new to the city & was glad I found Stu. The haircut was excellent and conversation was genuine he didn't rush through my hair and definitely made a new customer. read more

Stu is a very talented barber. I have to say, Stu has given me the best haircuts period. I recently moved from NYC and after trying other barbers, only go to Stu now. Haircuts are generally very pricey in Seattle and his prices are on par with others~ $35. Edit: Stu's haircuts continue to be excellent month over month. The styling stays in place for weeks! read more

I'll be the first to admit stu is a great barber. I went to him once and got a great haircut. I set an appt for the second time and on my to him there was an accident on the freeway, so I called him 10 minutes before while on the way and said my gps says I will arrive 20 minutes late. He understood and was chill about it. When I tried to reschedule a week later, he tried to charge me 45 dollar cancellation fee before letting me come in for another haircut. I understand a cancellation fee of 5-10$ but to charge full price PLUS TIP is just bad business. Back on my barber search. Review update/response to owner: My review was never taken down for any guideline issue and it was never re-written, as you can see by the date from over a year ago. I absolutely did not call 20 min after my scheduled appt. I called OTW 10 min before my scheduled appt and told you that there is stand still traffic on I5 and that I would be 20 min late. You couldn't wait, and I understood. But to then try and rip me off by saying I'd have to pay for the appt I missed because you could have scheduled another appt is obscured. I would have been willing to pay a cancellation fee but to try to charge me 45$ for a haircut you didn't give is robbery. Your unprofessionalism and sleaze outweighs your barber skills pal. read more

Just wanted to give an update to this review since it's been ages. Been going to Stu for 3 years now since moving to Seattle from Philly. Still the best barber I've found specifically for what I need (skin tight fade and a beard line-up). Hilarious stories - always a good conversation. I trust no one else with my hair at this point. I've also told so many of my friends and colleagues to go to him - all of which have always been ecstatic about their cuts. Saw some comments from others on cost. Is he pricey? To be honest... you can say that. But I genuinely think he's competitive with the downtown Seattle market and also can charge what he does because not many people can do what he does (at least in my experience, and I've sat in a lot of barber seats). If you want a consistent cut where you can always look and feel your best - Stu is your guy. read more

I've been having Stu cut my hair for a little over a year now ever since I moved to Seattle. I'm someone who I'm very particular about who cuts my hair and the quality of the cut, fade, edge, etc. Stu hits the perfect mark every time, whether you want a fade, a special design or something simple he can do it all. Stu takes his time which is exactly what you want for a barber because a perfect fade cannot be rushed. The dude is talented, professional, and makes sure that when you leave his chair you are 100% satisfied. He knows how to cut all types of hair, my hair is curly & thick but Stu cuts it perfectly that no matter what direction I brush my hair it looks perfect. Myself and his other clients are loyal for a reason, when someone cuts your hair this good, you don't leave. read more

Been going to Stu for 3 years now. I moved to Seattle from Cali and immediately began my search for a barber because... a fresh fade always brightens my day. I tried several different barbers throughout the region but the feel was never quite right. If you're like me, you not only want a fresh cut but a good experience as well. Stu is a master at his craft. He cares about the quality of his cuts. He has the very unique ability to work on all types of hair. On top of that, the guy is genuinely a good person. We talk politics, sports, movies, and everything in between. If you're in the market for a new barber I highly recommend trying out Stu. read more

I had gotten a sub-par haircut prior to my first visit, and Stu took his time to get my hair back to how I wanted it and even exceeded my expectations. Stu is a great barber that takes his craft seriously, and I'll be coming back. read more

Timely, easy to schedule with and most importantly was able to perfectly execute and articulate what I wanted to do with my hair. Stu had no problem with my 4c hair and did exactly what I wanted and listened for the details since a great cut is always about the details Price wise it was more than I usually pay for a cut but given I've always settled on the lower priced barbers who eventually disappoint I have no problem paying a premium price for an excellent hair experience. The overall experience and quality of Stu's work matches or exceeds the price. I knew I was straight when wifey, the daughter and mom's all commented on how great my wig was looking A good consistent barber is hard to find and while this was my first experience with Stu I will definitely be seeing him again as "my barber" to keep my fade crispy clean. I'll eagerly give 5 Stars once consistency is achieved....To be continued read more

Got a haircut earlier this week to look good on my birthday and Stu did a great job! He found a new style for me that works and worked really hard to perfect it. I also love the location and atmosphere. Everyone there was really nice and they take their time to make sure you get what you want. Would recommend this 50$ haircut anytime. read more

quality of a short hair cut was not the best for the price charged. $50 for a 30 min haircut is quite expensive Comparing to what I later saw in the market. read more

Great haircut and he really knew how to work with my hair. Would definitely go back if I was still in the area

Stu's the man! Been living in Seattle for the past 8 years after moving here from Philadelphia. After going through at least 2 dozen barbers in Seattle at all the big name shops, I'm glad I finally found someone legit who knows how to give great cuts. Stu's a master of his craft and truly cares about every haircut he gives. I've had some great barbers over the years growing up in Philly and Stu could stand toe to toe with any of them. His clipper work and fades are unmatched in Seattle and he's a great guy to boot. He really pays attention to every cut he makes and takes pride in his work. I'm glad I finally found my go to barber and look forward to many more top notch cuts from stu in the future. Do yourself a favor and go let him clean you up, you won't be disappointed. read more

Someone is still salty they can't do what Keno down at Mario's Barber shop can do perfectly and in the matter of 10 minutes. Still by far the worst experience I've ever had in a barber shop.. Instagram is a false depiction because people post only the good. Good luck trying to blame the customers for your shortcomings. read more

Still coming to see Stu on a regular basis. Best barber, hands down. The location changed hands but the great service stayed the same. Easy to schedule, easy in and out. read more

Stu got me laid.. can you really ask for more?!? He took his time and did my high fade with patience. If I'm ever in Seattle again, this is definitely my guy. read more

Stu the Butcher. Earlier today I had a long glorious beard. In the matter of minutes, a years worth of patience wasted. Asked for my beard to be trimmed, just enough that it would be symmetrical. Expecting a hair or two to be trimmed here and there. This process was undergone, but then the clippers came out. I should have put a stop there, but figured there was some areas growing faster than others and was like OK I guess I need this. After looking in the mirror, my beard was several inches shorter than when I first entered! I wasn't too happy with the length as it didn't go along with my handle bar mustache. All I wanted was a small trim. Still wanting the beard, I asked for my mustache to be trimmed to the lip. I was expecting the outcome to be a walrus like mustache trimmed to the bottom of the lip but got a pencil thin trim to the upper lip. At this point I had a medium sized beard and a small creeper mustache. The styles didn't match. My wife hated the new look. I hated the new look. I've never looked worse after a haircut. I asked for the beard to be faded into my long hair and cut down to small beard status after this. I was told that i would have to pay extra for his time, despite my beard being just murdered. I opted to go home and shave it all off. I'm still left with my long hair, but Stu had placed this hard line on the back of my neck. So when putting my hair in a bun it looks weird AF. Stu had claimed that there was a miscommunication, but after seeing the hard line on the back of my neck and one thing after another, I am convinced he doesn't know how to cut long beards and hair. I look like one weird MF right now. Just to say the least, Without being vulgar, I am flooded with a lot of mixed emotions right now. I'll never go back to Stu again. I would give 0 stars if this app would let me This was my third and final time with Stu. Long story short, I looked like Grizzly Adams going into this shop, left looking like a goon. Don't recommend if you're a long haired brethren. read more

Stu is the best barber in town - hands down. I trusted this man to cut my hair before my wedding and it was the best decision I made. I've been going to him for the last 2 years and I have never had a bad cut. Always tell my coworkers about him and believe he's a true artist! read more

I've had Stu cut my hair for almost a year now. You won't realize how good he is until a few weeks later when your haircut still looks awesome. Stu has great understanding of his work. I try to get different hairstyles time to time and I pick any random haircut picture from Google and want the same. Stu The Barber at Collage - Killer coffee mugs - Barbers Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Been getting my hair cut by Stu for a couple of years now. Definitely one of the best in Seattle.

Stu is AWESOME. As a black woman, I really need a barber that is top notch, knows how to deal with black hair & doesn't provide an uncomfortable atmosphere. Stu does all of that plus more. Plus he listens to what you want & his fade game is killer. You're definitely getting grade A service w/ Stu which he delivers time and time again. I've seen him a handful of times and he's super easy to schedule with, his location is prime & he's genuinely an amazing guy. read more

I've gone to Stu for a classic side part a couple of times now, after my previous barber moved. I'm pretty picky with my hair, and I know my hair type and head shape are trickier than most to use clippers on. It's clear that Stu is very talented at cutting hair. He's good with the lines, he's good with the equipment. He has an eye for what looks right, and he knows how to style the hair after, as well. If you want to make an appointment, I suggest texting him. I know we're all used to making appointments online these days, but he's really easy to make an appointment with. It's nice to not have to wait weeks to get a fresh cut. read more

We all find our guy that just gets it & knows his craft. I'd been going to the same barber for 8 years as he was a pro at a straight razor fade, but due to a new endeavor his availability was erratic and hard to schedule. On a chance as I couldn't wait any longer for a cut from my guy, I went in and that's when I stumbled upon Stu. It's been a year almost and I've never been back to my previous barber. Stu is extremely skilled at his craft & my fades have never been tighter. I've even thrown him a challenge for a design I wanted cut in, rather than talk me into something else he just tackled it and knocked it out of the park. It's a great location & easy to get to on the bus which is convenient, but that doesn't matter cause I'll continue going wherever Stu is cutting. Trust these reviews, you won't be let down! read more

I grew up in Detroit, lived in NYC, and recently moved to Seattle. It's been nearly impossible to find a barber who could cut hair but also blend a fade and use a straight razor. Stu's attention to detail is amazing. Probably the best barber I've ever been to. Worth every penny. read more
